WENT IT ARRIVED TO OUR NEW HOME THE LEATHER LIFT CHAIRS HAD HOLES AND WOODEN FURNITURE HAD LOTS OF SCRATCHES. WE SUPPLIED LOTS AND LOTS OF PACKING BLANKETS. OVER $8,000.DAMANGES. THE COMPANY DID NOT CARE. THEY HAVE LIMIT OF LESS THAN $300. THAT YOU CAN CLAIM. FLORIDA IS A HORRIBLE STATE TO FIGHT COMPANY IN COURT. THIS COMPANY USES FLORIDA LAWS TO KEEP PEOPLE THAT LIVE OUT OF STATE TO FILE CLAIMS.

You pay a premium price for a sub-par service.

I am less than happy for the less than stellar packing job that was performed by Pack and Load services for me on May 4, 2023. According to the the Price Quote statement from Pack and Load, that I received in my email, it states the following: Equipment List / Supplies included: *Two-wheeled dolly *4-wheeled dolly *Shrink wrap *Basic hand tools to assemble/disassemble furniture *Moving quality tape *Tie downs The lead packer only provided a two-wheeled dolly, basic hand tools and a couple of straps. He did not have a 4-wheeled dolly (it would have been out-of-pocket expenses for him) or shrink wrap or moving quality tape. I happened to have a four-wheeled dolly that they could use to move our upright piano. We stayed out of their way so that we could let them do their work and did not notice that they did not use shrink wrap or tape. I had two tvs and provided two anti-static slip covers for the tvs, and they only ended up putting on one slip cover on one of the tvs. For the first half of the loading, they did a descent job. However, for the second half, they seemed to just hap-hazzardly put the rest of our belongings in the POD. At one point the lead packer said that our 8 foot sofa would take up too much room, so we opted to leave it out so as to make more room for the rest of our belongings. Then, he suggested that we leave the box springs out because he said that he could not fit it in. My wife pointed out that if he moved a couple of items around that he could then put it in. Which he did and it fit, but instead of putting the box spring and mattress at the end of the POD like he had told us at the beginning, he ended up putting it on top of our belongings and then used two our our ratchet straps to tie it in at a downward angle, near the door. He had trouble closing the POD door and had to have one of his helpers help pull it down. That caused me great concern because if they had trouble pulling it down, how much trouble would I have opening the door when we get to our final destination; stuff always shifts during transport. I am disappointed that we paid over $900 and got less than half of our moneys worth. Because of this experience with Pack and Load, I can honestly say that I will not use this service when we get to our final destination or at any other time, and I will not recommend this services to anyone. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE

TLDR version: Unprofessional, unprepared, $$5000.00 + worth of damage. Double billed (incompetence or fraud?). Won't take responsibility for items damaged. Long Version: We recently used PODS for a move from NY to FL. We used 'Pack and Load Services' as they were recommended by PODS to properly move and load our items so as not to be damaged during transit. What a mistake. On the date of the move, the 'Pack and Load Services' movers showed up 4 1/2 hours late. They told us they were sorry, "They made a wrong turn". Two movers did finally arrived in a rented 'U-Haul' truck with no equipment. No dollies to move heavy furniture, no blankets, wrap or rope to tie the items into the POD. The above said equipment was supposed to be provided. Again, they said they were sorry, "it was a miscommunication". The movers sent were not strong enough to carry the furniture. They opted to drag it along the floor, mostly concrete and paved roadway. There is well over $5000.00 dollars of damage. At the end of the move the two movers wanted me to sign a waiver that they didn't damage any items during the move. When I refused to sign an argument ensued. Very uncomfortable. Upon calling P&L Services, they directed me to their website to file a 'statement of claim'. Documentation arrived in the mail notifying us that P&L services is only liable for .60 cents per pound per item damaged with a maximum compensation of $25.00 dollars per item and a maximum of $250.00 per move. How is this legal? I didn't sign or agree to any of this and they caused thousands of dollars worth of damage. Upon calling PODS to complain, we were told that PODS is not affiliated with any moving company they recommend. Thanks PODS, shame on you too. Fast forward to the end of the month, credit card bill arrives and P&L services double billed us. Upon calling P&L services, they acknowledged the error and said a credit would be issued to my card. No credit was ever received. I had to contact the credit card company to dispute the charge. The dispute is ongoing. This entire experience has been a complete nightmare. We're currently at the phase where we're contemplating litigation to recover some of the loss. Not sure what else to do. Hopefully this review prevents anyone else from having to experience what we went through. From the other reviews posted, I see this is not an isolated experience. AVOID THIS COMPANY. HORRIBLE!

Poor performance, unhelpful customer service & dishonest

Original review Jan 07, 2023
Am very disappointed in the packing and loading services provided by Pack & Load. The whole process was a cluster from the start. Their salesperson (Chris Ford) told me that there would be a crew of four to load my Pods along with tools to dismantle beds, etc. He also told me that the crew would bring rope and shrink wrap. However, on the day of the move, only two individuals arrived with no tools, no rope, and no shrink wrap. Thankfully, I had purchased shrink wrap, moving blankets, and ratchet straps in advance of the move. When I called customer service to inquire, I was told that there was nothing she could do to send the two additional crew members. After observing the two individuals loading the Pods, it was apparent that they were not professional movers and did not follow the loading process outlined in the May 4, 2022 email from Chris Ford. Again, I called customer service and was told that there was nothing she could do. Her only instruction to me was to wait until the Pods were unloaded at their ultimate destination and file a claim for the damages (inferring that damages would be covered in full). She did not mention that Pack & Load limits damages to $25 per item, $250 max per move. It was extremely frustrating to watch them load the Pods, knowing that my furniture would be damaged, and that Pack & Loads process was to let it happen. I subsequently completed your customer satisfaction survey, outlining the above and received no response from anyone at Pack & Load. I also filed a claim for damages and was told that claim was limited to $25 per item, $250 max per move. Pack and Load is not a reputable company and you should take your business elsewhere.

Broken tv

They dropped it on the ground and the glass shattered in several places I would like to have it replaced

Stay away from their services

There were a variety of issues --bringing a packer who was allergic to dogs and we had two small ones; having packers who had no clue what they were doing. The guys overall were good, but the damages that were incurred in the legs of expensive furniture, lost X-mas tree bag ($700 one-year old tree), ruined bedroom set (destroyed bed frame beyond use), damaged dressers/scratches. I can go on. We submitted our claim and kept all simple things off the list. What was their offer to resolve -- like $20 or something meaningless. Per their letter, we signed off on claims maximum in contract (yet to see that yet). We moved out of a $1M home and was expecting better care as it went into storage and then moved in PODS. AVOID this company at all costs -- trust me. While I loved most of the guys that did the work, wherever the damage occurred in their packing they did NOT stand behind their services. Write me at vick0806@***.com and I can tell you all about it.

Drug users stole my PS4

Original review Sep 29, 2022
Pack and load services sent 2 guys, who arrived 6 hours late because they claimed that they were from another state and had to drive. I had my PS4 packed in a tub between layers and layers of clothes and didn't think a thing of it. Unfortunately, I was stupid and found the original box for it, and put it among the boxes to be loaded. So i think the thief knew I had one and must have targeted my items for search, because I wrote my name on my tubs versus my parents boxes. I guess I made it super easy for him to find it. They took long into the night to load up two pods containers. As they were leaving, one of the guys came back in my house and gave me a weed joint. I was confused why he thought I would want that, but now that I think about it, he may have felt bad because he knew the other guy stole my ps4? idk I didn't expect surprise drugs from my mover I put that joint down the garbage disposal, as I don't take drugs randomly given to me from strangers as a general rule Anyways, whichever one was the thief must have thought that 8 year old ps4 was really worth something, I hope he got a shock from whatever fence he took it to and found out it was worth a hundred twenty or so on a good day. anyways, pack and load just sends any old desperate people they can find. do not use them.

Terrible movers and don’t stand by the service they provide

1st. they told me 3 people, sent 2. never sent an voice so it was he said/she said. rhey don't tell you they charge by the hour. the movers rushed out at 5.5 hours. got charged for 6. still had more furniture to be removed from the house. they threw furniture in with no logic. didnt wrap most of the furniture even though I provided planty of blankets. customer won't send me a claim form for damaged goods. not even by email. the movers took 2 breaks in the first 3 hours netting 50 minutes. they give you the run around hoping you'll just go away. do not use. you will be sorry. they dont stand by any decent work ethic.

Movers didn't even show up to my house

I had an order for movers hired by this company to come to my house at 5 PM today (August 10th). The movers never showed nor did anyone contact me regarding the reason for their no-show. I called various customer service numbers associated with this company only to be met with nothing but voice messages encouraging me to leave a message and theyll call back due to "customer service agents being busy". I did so but, hours later, still have not received a call back. I was not able to contact anyone to find out what was going on. So here I am, sitting in a mostly empty house, using my iPhone for an internet hotspot, to write this review. It is absolutely inexcusable for your movers to simply not show up. Very unprofessional.

Unwarranted trip charge

We secured a pod and went with their recommended pack and load services to load and unload our POD for our move from Michigan to California. When the POD arrived and the Pack and load movers came to unload it, the door wouldnt open and the movers left. I had to have PODS come out and wiggle the POD around to get the door unstuck. The rocking chair was loaded too close to the door which caused the POD door to get stuck. The next day the Pack and Load movers came back to unload. I found out the next day that I was charged $225 for a trip charge when they couldnt open the door! I disputed this as their people loaded it and they should be responsible. They will not refund that trip charge so now I will dispute it with my credit card company! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! I wish I had read reviews before hiring them!!!

Damaged & lost belongings.

I paid handsomely for 2 "professional" packers to load my large POD. A horrible looking, beat up, remarkable bird doo stained little car pulled into my driveway. I asked what they wanted, and I was told they were here to load up my POD. One was wearing a sleeveless white undershirt. They behaved very well, and crammed everything possible into the 8 x 16 pod. Almost every piece of my furniture arrived with dents, gouges, scrapes, etc. Also, 2 vacuum cleaners were missing, among several smaller personal items. Our move was from Delaware coast to the Southwest. Once we had a look at what was damaged and missing, we first filed a claim with PODS. Utter waste of time. They suggested filing a claim with Pack and Load, which turned out to also be a complete waste of time. P&L stated that they were not responsible for anything since their company did not perform the unload. If the boilerplate language said that, why did they put me through the useless claim process ?? Same with PODS. I paid for transport insurance with PODS and all I can say is- unless your POD is stolen, or is set on fire enroute, you may as well forget either of these companies doing you justice.

Very unprofessional

We had $200 stolen from our home during pack and load employees moving our household items out of our house and into a POD.

Treadmill destroyed; berated by David Costanza the Controller

In short, two men sent to our home by Pack & Load Services DESTROYED our practically new treadmill. They literally butchered and hacked it, caused it to slam down and shattered pieces, scratched and dented it and DUMPED it in the POD. When they left they apologized and said, "I'm sorry. But file a claim and get your money back. They are insured and bonded!" Pack & Load has claimed to only be liable for $25 of coverage, despite this horrific, negligent destruction. To make matters worse, their controller, DAVID COSTANZA, called me and my 72 year old mother to scream and berate us. --- Please note that we attempted to resolve the matter with Pack and Load, but to no avail. Further, given the extremely aggressive disrespect we endured on February 17, 2022 from David Costanza, Controller of Pack and Load, we no longer feel comfortable or safe communicating with anyone from Pack and Load and requested that PODS help us with the matter. Details of Teleconference with Costanza On February 17, 2022, David Costanza contacted us directly by telephone to discuss the matter. He shared that he had an offer" for us to repair the treadmill. When my mother countered that the treadmill was destroyed beyond repair due to being shattered in several pieces and the wires being tampered with, David then stated, Well, you signed our terms and conditions and we are only liable for $25. I then set forth that he could not begin to classify the matter, which we believe rises to the level of negligent destruction, within the confines of the standard terms and conditions. This upset David Constanza greatly, and he proceeded to launch into an extremely aggressive tirade in which he yelled and berated us at the top of his lungs. Costanzas language, tone and volume were so vile and crushing that I had trouble working the remainder of the day. I was also shaken the next day as well. Below are some of the statements from Davids tirade, which was meant to demean and intimidate us. How do you know it cant be repaired? Who are you? YOURE NOT A PROFESSIONAL!!! We are only liable for $25, but I am TRYING to do you a favor. Youre throwing around the word negligence!!! We are only liable for $25! Hmph! There were only a few scratches on the thing! I can hardly see anything the pictures you sent were grainy, not good quality not even HIGH DEFINITION!!! We wouldnt even be in this mess if it werent for those idiots! You didnt even send me the model number!!! I attempted to interject to counter Davids dismissive minimization of the destruction, but this inflamed him even more, with him yelling, If you cut me off Im going to terminate the call!!! I inquired as to why he was speaking to us in such a tone as if we were junk yard dogs and he replied, Just stop interrupting me!!! To be clear, we never interrupted or disrespected Costanza, but instead were merely attempting to have a discussion, in which he refused to engage. Shocked, I said, Wow.. He then responded in a condescending manner: Woooooowwwww . Yeah, thats right WOOOOOOWWWWW . WOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!! We were shocked, paralyzed and said absolutely nothing for the remainder of the call. I can only imagine if my 72-year old mother were alone on the call. Ultimately, David Costanza calmed himself down by rambling a series of statements to redeem his character. I am an easy going person, Im a GOOD person but something about you just set me off. I dont even get involved with things like this, but dont you see I am trying to help you! Im in the conference room. You have my cell phone number! I am 64, with a wife, no kids and a dog. And I dont want them to have their things destroyed. Maybe you can help my wife get on her bike I bought 2 years ago. Im a professional. Ive been doing this a long time. The call ended with him apologizing and literally laughing at a joke he made. Shaken and upset, we simply said good night.

Disaster Experience

To say this experience has been a nightmare, is an understatement. I scheduled packing and loading of my services based on a recommendation from PODS. After speaking with a coordinator, I had everything scheduled for a Fri/Sat visit. When calling back to give final billing information, I was told my dates had been changed to Fri/Mon. I explained that I was not off on Monday. I was told they had no crews available in my area. While frustrated, we needed the work done so I arranged for my husband/adult daughter to be there on Monday. Friday rolled around and my initial time window for the crews arrival was 8-11am. I called at 9:20 to see if they had a better window, at which time I was told they would be at my home at 12pm. Agent advised that the crew had a morning "unload" job before me. I expressed my frustration, and reminded them that I had told my coordinator that this was a big job and that was not going to allow a lot of time for day 1. Agent answering phone advised they would be there at 12 and would "get the work done". At 12:20 I called again and was told my crew was on the way, and were "stopping for extra boxes". I again advised my concern with the time frame and that I had already had boxes ordered on my initial invoice. Agent replied that the crew would be at my home by 3.. and felt they needed more supplies. At 3:30 I called again and was told the crew was running behind and had stopped for boxes but were on their way. Turns out, said crew, was coming from Richmond (3 hours away). The crew arrived at 4:20 and left at 9:50. Crew was rushed the entire time.. left numerous items throughout the house unpacked and crammed the POD completely full. The instructions for he POD to leave space to allow for shifting of items, which they did not. In speaking to 3 different people throughout the day NO ONE apologized. I spent $3060 for day one and got 4 crew members and 5.5 hours of work. I expressed over and over again how I had taken a day off work, spent a lot of money and did not at ALL get what I had paid for. The following day a supervisor contacted me and I had to explain the chaos of the whole situation. She was the first one to apologize, and said she would get back to me. I still at that point did not have a definitive time frame for the crews Monday arrival. I asked that she let me knew and expressed again that it would need to be morning and that they would need more than 4 people. She was adamant that she would figure this all out for me and would get back to me shortly. This was around 9-10 in the morning. I called at 4 as I had not heard from anyone and got a voicemail. I called again at 5 and the evening shift agent answered and said its after hours when I asked for the supervisor. She was rude, and very dismissive. I explained that I was supposed to have received a call back, both about my issues and my Monday crew. She advised that I would not get a call back until Monday. I called back later, and asked to move the crew to Thursday (my next day off) since I did not know when they would be arriving and did not know how many people. I was told they did not have a crew available Thursday but they did have Wednesday and they would try to get additional help and a morning crew. I explained that my original crew was driving 3 hours so if there was any way they could get someone local. I did not hear back on Monday, so I called on Tuesday to confirm Wednesday crew. At which time I was told they had me scheduled for Thursday because thats what I asked for. I explained I was told they did not have anyone available Thursday and that they did have availability Wednesday. I also explained I had already moved my PODS pickup to Thursday based on this information. Later that evening I received a call that I would have a Wednesday crew and that they were trying to get additional help. I was initially told it would be an afternoon crew. I expressed my disappointment in this entire experience, and was then told the crew would be mid-day. I did not have choice but to just agree with this and said okay. Wednesday TWO people showed up at my home. When they came in the house they told my daughter, that they were loading, but they were not packing. My daughter explained that I paid for packing AND loading. This day was at a cost of $1800. An hour later one of the two left and brought back a different individual. While they did get a lot done, the job was by no means finished. I had 3 PODS and explained on DAY ONE, that this was a large job and would need extra help. While these two gentlemen did get a lot done, it was not at all done with caution and concern for our belongings. The gentleman loaded two refrigerators. One of which I have owned less than a year. There are several dents and scratches on both. The second refrigerator, they got stuck in a doorway. They had to pull it back out. My son then took the doors off for them. We are still unloading PODS, so we do not know at this point, what else has been damaged. No one has followed up with me, as of today. I was told I was getting a credit and I asked what the breakdown was, because I was already owed money for items and labor I was charged for that we did not receive. I have used professional movers in the past, and the experience was seamless. This was a nightmare!
