Terrible service and work
We had the back roof line of our house redone after some leaking through the ceiling. Very slow to get on their schedule and I had to call repeatedly to get the work done. After the roof work was done we wanted our ceiling repainted and the kid they sent was rude and disrespectful. Later we were having more leaks in another part of the roof (which we had told New Era about but they refused to address). I finally called another company who sent someone. They discovered that New Era had not finished the original job and had left regular shingles, not ridge line shingles, across our ridge line. When confronted they continued to lie about it.

Hello anonymous. I'm an investigator hired by a gentleman in Topeka who felt taken by Beau the owner of New Era Roofing for work poorly completed. I have followed this company since 2014. There have been numerous complaints made against this company from different cities in Kansas. I had the opportunity to speek with Nathan the salesman that was never compensated for his work. He in fact was charged with a DUI driving a company vehicle. I find it unethical though to not be paid for services even for an infraction such as this and especially for the monitory amount owed. The claims made by Cody Bruce against Nathan regarding a drug offense was totally false. In fact Cody was a salesman who had been convicted of hurting a young man severely in a bar fight in Lawrence. Also I do believe Nathan has joined a very large Comercial roofing company out of Kansas City and has moved on with his career. I have spoke with the department of labor and the attorney general in early 2015 which at that time was doing there own investigation. Even the secretary of this company has two felony charges in Johnson County for embeselment and computer fraud from a prior employer in the medical field. I feel it necessary for homeowners to do there research on companies to be able to make wise choices on contractors they choose to hire. Hopefully justice is served for the ones who have been taken by this company. I personally would not hire any one of these people mentioned to work on my property. I'm positive I will get the opportunity to investigate this company again knowing there history.

New Era Roofing Service Review from Lawrence, Kansas
We had New Era roof contractors put a new roof on our house 4 years ago in 2011. The first thing we noticed was all the nails that were left on the ground and on the roof, then I got on the roof last spring to check the gutters and they were full of nails also. After further checking the gutters I noticed that a lot of water was standing in the gutters and we hadn't had any rain for weeks. It looked like New Era had ridden all the gutters down with their ladders so then they wouldn't drain. Then this spring 2015 I noticed nails getting rusty under the eve, I got on a ladder again and started to poke around and found that the sheeting under the shingles was all rotted. After contacting another roofing contractor he discovered that the wrong flashing had been put on by New Era and just nothing else but a very poor job of installing a roof. After calling New Era numerous and not getting a return call this is my last attempt at at least asking why they are still in business.

I have never been arrested for any drug offense ever in my life and yes I worked for this so called company who didn't pay me for 4 jobs which I helped get. Why would I forfeit money I earned. I did see salesman's, workers, homeowners, and insurance companies get shortchanged for this companies gain. I'm glad to see that not everyone has been used by this company wrongfully. I've still not been paid and I've moved on to a much more reputable company with no issues. Thanks for your words and have a great day. You should get your facts straight before adding your thoughts.

The guy that posted this lost his job for getting a DUI in a company vehicle. He was asked to surrender the files he was working on. None of the files that were left unpaid were completed. This is a ridiculous accusation against a good company, that really just wants to help people. Sure they make money doing their job, like everyone else... But there are homeowners getting new roofs, and many other exterior restoration services, that otherwise may never have been able to. Everyone makes mistakes in construction, so everyone gets a complaint here and there, but they are always rectified with this company. They are fully licensed, fully insured, bonded, and they are here to stay. As an outsider, who is familiar with both parties involved, this is a joke. I challenge anyone, at any time, to find any of our credentials to be false.

There has been no change or answer back by Beau Romstead or Niki Gardner owner and operators of NewEra Roofing. I still have not been paid for services and probably never will.
I've meet with Kansas Attorney General's office about this company and was told they were investigating the company already and were eager to hear what i had to say.
Investigators told me that Kansas Department of Labor and Kansas Department of Revenue would also be investigating this company. This company should definitely not be in business.

Warning to people thinking about working for New Era Roofing or doing business with them. They lie to their customers about being licenced in kansas and show a fake johnson county contractor licence to potential clients to gain business and expect the salesman to do the same. They call themselves general contractors but was unable to even pass the test to become one. They don't collect deductables for insurance work which is against the law here in kansas as in most states to gain business. They bill insurance companies for the whole scope of work and don't complete to be paid in full. I witnessed them sign mortgage checks and deposit them bypassing the mortgage companies. They cheat salesman's their commission's and have witnessed them cheat the crews doing the work. They say they are a third generation company but haven't even been in business for 5 years. Very dishonest in every aspect of business. Check them out and ask to see their contractor licence. The office staff is very dishonest also. Definitely do a background check with Johnson county. Check out the office in Baldwin Kansas if you can catch them there. Not professionals at all.
