Movers didn't show up

They are great at talking you into signing up but when their local agent fails to perform they wash their hands of you. Their deal is much cheaper than the majors but you get what you pay for I suppose.

Horrible Customer Service Property was broken and taken; not reimbursed

My husband and I moved from Wyoming to Michigan. We used Nationwide Moving who in fact brokers out to companies to be their carrier. So we were hooked up with a company called Zano Moving. We were initially quoted a little over $1300.00 for this move however,; when the movers of this Zano Moving & Storage LLC" arrived I ended up having to write a check for $3,600.00. I understand you have to pay those for services rendered but this is a big jump from our original quoted price especially when we over quoted to make sure we would have enough money to work with. What's worse is a lot of of our big items didn't even make it onto the truck like our queen size bed frame and mattress, wheel barrel among a few other items and they forgot our trash can so that didn't make the inventory but our price never went down only up. I called Nationwide to get some clarification. I ended up speaking with Ciera Cruz, Nationwide's Supervisor. I explained to her my predicament. She comes of curt and uses a rude tone so I asked to speak to a supervisor; lucky me she was the supervisor. She kept talking about the "Bill of Lading" and how she can't determine anything until she sees this bill of lading. There was never any clarification made to us on where the bill of lading was because Zano moving carriers told me that this bill of lading was turned in to the dispatch office but Nationwide was saying it's nowhere to be found This individual really needs to have training on IPC "Interpersonal Communication". I understand jobs can be stressful but as a supervisor, you need to be able to go that extra mile for the customer who is paying your company thousands of dollars for services rendered. Ciera stated she would get back to us on this matter but that was the last time I had contact with her, the only email I received from her was that of how to submit a complaint with this ASAP Services. Not sure why she sent me that information because once I received this so-called "Bill of Lading", the logo which is a nice police shield (that adds to your false sense of security" states "Zano Moving & Storage LLC". The only polite and professional employees at Nationwide were "David and Paul". David was awesome and actually went out of his way to assist my husband and I with this fiasco. He was both polite, professional and was actually able to multi-task without loosing his cool toward an unsatisfied customer and he wasn't even the supervisor. Maybe he and Ciera should switch positions. To get more clarification on the over charging we made contact with the owner of Zano Services. This Middle-Eastern man calls my phone and I put him on speaker because I can't understand what he is telling me. My husband and I just happened to be in an appt. with our accountant, so there were 2 witnesses to this incident. This individual starts asking questions and in the middle of my answering him he starts shouting at me and talk over me, " SHUT UP STOP TALKING YOU LISTEN TO ME NOW"! trying to take control of the conversation. My husband and our accountant were in AW at what he was saying to me and my husband gets on the phone and starts yelling at the owner back "HEY WHO THE YELL DO YOU THINK YOUR TALKING TO THAT WAY, THAT'S MY WIFE! All of a sudden he changes his tune, apologizes and it's the wierdest thing his accent got better and was able to be understood. I am a combat disabled veteran who served in Afghanistan and man had given me a flashback of when I performed "Detainee Operations" in the middle east. I was ready to check into the hospital due to an anxiety attack. Shame on this individual, you don't treat women like that in any country, let alone the customer. On top of being over-charged from the get-go the movers said they will need $1,543.00 upon delivery but before they start unloading the truck. I specifically marked these moving boxes with destinations for easy location placement but the movers just kept putting them in the living room. They placed our new LG washer and Dryer outside in the rain and were going to leave it there until my husband told them to put them in the basement. My husband had to take the door off so they could fit them through the door but they didn't help my husband with the door, they just stood there. Our bed was filthy from people waking on it, I got 2 new dents in my acoustic guitar which weren't there before, a lot of scratches and dents on our washer and dryer. They broke a portion of my husband's dresser and didn't have the decency to tell us; the only way we found out is because they hid the broken piece in one of the drawers. They didn't take the mattress up to the bedroom, they just flopped it on the floor. They put someone else's box on our porch. My husband calls them back to retrieve this property who belongs to someone else and they said "No just keep it because it was put onto your inventory" which means we were charged for this box that is not ours. There was someone's personal information (DL, paystub w/ SSN) They also took off with our Gorilla Ladder, step stool ladder & our AC Unit Hose which they NEVER reimbursed us with. Im sure they either have kept those items or they have made their way to someone elses inventory, meaning they were charged for these items that were NOT theirs. This has to be the single worst moving company I have ever been in contact with. If you want to avoid extra stress followed by a headache and possible PTSD related anxiety attack do not use this company. I cannot and will not in good conscience recommend this company or their carrier, Zano Moving and Storage LLC. The Zano company did take of about $200 and Nationwide did a partial refund for $350.00. It shouldn't have ever come to this though. Nationwide's website stated they were bonded but we haven't seen anything to prove this. This so-called "Bill of Lading" does not have a complete inventory, it just states a bulk number which is pretty useless for accountability purposes. There is a lack of chain of custody and no accountability from either company.

Paid $2183.00 for a move and they cancelled and refused to refund the $2183.00

We contracted with this company on June 1st to move our daughters furniture from Oakland Ca. To New York. We paid a $2183.00 deposit on June 1st with a debit card, and they scheduled the pick up of her furniture for June 29th. However, on June 28th they informed us that they did not have a truck to make the move so they were canceling our agreement. When I asked for a refund I was told by the Manager Steve that they did not have to refund our money right away because I paid with a debt card and they would get around to it at their leisure. It is now August 13, 2021 and no refund

Worse movers ever!

First off, they wanted to quote me a price without ever sending anyone out to estimate how much it would be to move. I went room to room and gave them a brief review of what I had in every room. We agreed on a price of 8500 dollars. He asked what dates I needed them and I told him I wasnt sure. I picked the 14th of July with the caveat I could change the date at a later time. I had to change the pickup day to the 12 and 13 instead of the 14th and 15 and wanted them to store stuff until the 16th. The salesman assured me that this would not be an issue. He also said someone would call the week before to verify the move. No one ever called. I call 2 days before the move and they told me that they were going to pick up on the 14th because that is what was on the contract. The guy I spoke with never changed the pickup dates. They also said that this driver was a straight driver and he would have to pick up and drop off the next day. Could not store at all like the same man told us. But worst of all, when they did get there, they said we severely underestimated and it was goi g to cost us 18,000 dollars now. More than double what they quoted us. They said if we didnt like the price they could leave, but by then it was too late to find anyone else. Then on top of that, he changed the contract 2 more times after the move. The crew was nice, but they made a mess and didnt clean up after themselves. They broke some of our stuff and they said they way the figure out the cost of the broken stuff was by weight. Which I find crazy. I guess if they broke a heavy rock you get get more money back than if they broke a Rolex watch. Anyways, we felt that the company is unreliable, doesnt have very good customer service, and dont stick by their quotes. Will never use them or recommend them to anyone.

Horrible Moving Company

This was the worst experience with a moving company, since they are brokers they will not guarantee your move dates even though they supply an extra day. I scheduled my move a month in advance for a Friday with Saturday as my back-up day. Received a call Friday a few hours before the scheduled arrival that they were running late for the 5 pm-7 pm window and would pick up Saturday between 5 pm and 7 pm. Saturday was the flex day they had given so I was fine with this. Saturday afternoon I received a call that they were running behind and I would not be picked up until Sunday morning between 7 am and 9 am, first pick up of the day. This required me to rebook plane tickets, and rearrange all other move plans. Sunday at 10 am when I still had not seen nor heard from the movers I started calling every number I could find for Nationwide Moving, finally received a call that now the movers would be there between 2 pm and 4 pm. They did end up arriving around 11:30, however they did not have a dolly so had to leave part of the crew to wrap the furniture while another left for an hour to find a dolly. Everything was finally loaded by 4pm. The change in dates and times cost me approximately $500, Nationwide does not care since they are simply the brokers. When I asked the company that did the actual move when they had been booked it was one day prior to my move. Moving is stressful enough without the added headache and expense this company has caused. 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend them for anyone.

Worst Decision Ever to hire Nationwide Moving Services

Original review May 05, 2021
This moving brokerage is a deceitful, dishonest, swindling company. They give you a moderate estimate and your service representation presents himself/herself as your new best friend. They are there all the way for you, then they disappear. You are requested to keep them updated with your list, estimates never change. I paid for packing, each dispatcher that called to update time and date of pick up never knew this. I said to read my contract. 3 dispatchers said they have so many contracts that they never read them. The final inventory list the day of my packing/picking disappeared from the email attachment that they sent me. It even disappeared from safari where I transferred it since my printer was not working. Message said site had expired. 12 hrs to pack me, done at midnight and then estimate $2300 more!! I knew what I had, I just moved 2 years ago, I kept my service rep updated with # of boxes I packed, everything. Then Im told that I can't talk to my "new friend" service rep after my move because he signs up clients and then he is done! My furniture took 6 days to get to my new location, different state, first went to storage facility in a different state, never informed until truck packed. was told I was lucky not kept for 21 days because that was the law! Was told that due to covid, the furniture pads had to be returned to me. The driver that drove the semi from Insta-movers said the pads were hers, she bought. I said 15 of them were mine that I let the packers use, knowing I would get back. Then I had to give driver cash to pay for movers she hired locally to transport my stuff from semi. My thought is I do this or my furniture is hostage & I'll never get. I have more things broken, precious items from any other move. I have moved 9 times in my lifetime. No one will help with any of this. They are rude, every person says that the other party is responsible. RUN from this company on the internet. I read reviews, saw many positive reviews. They must have written them themselves. DO NOT USE THIS MOVING SERVICE!!!!!!!!

DO NOT HIRE THEM

This company is awful. Despite reading all the bad reviews, I scheduled them to move my belongings anyway because they were cheap. Let me tell you something, you get what you pay for!! After them giving me 3 different arrival times, asking me to pack my home in 1 day the day before my move after telling me I had 4 days, not returning my phone calls the day of my scheduled move, and lying to my several times about who they were, I finally canceled their services because I just could not risk all of my belongings with what seemed like this extremely unprofessional company. After I canceled their services, the manager FINALLY decided to return my calls, but only to repeatedly call me disgusting and cuss at me. After I stopped answer his harassing phone calls and text messages, he called me from a different phone number to continue proving to me that canceling them was the correct move. For the love of God people, do NOT give this company your business!

Terrible!!!

After months on end of trying to get claim forms for the 3K in damage and loss I finally got someone from the company to answer me. I was then told they were now using a 3rd party claim service and to contact them. I contacted them and they sent me forms and directions on how and what I needed to submit the claim thru them. After making over 65 colored copies with receipts attached and sending it certified mail I waited another 3 months to get a email stating the company will settle for $65.00. I did not and will not settle for that! I don't understand how moving companies can do this to people and get away with it. If I took it to court I would have to go back to the state I moved from and it would cost more than the claim. AND THEY KNOW THIS!!!

Crooks Allstate Mover aka Nationwide Moving

Also these crooks are now known as Allstate Mover in Aventura Florida 1 (80*) 891-****. The owner Ruben (Ruby) is a crook and not only does he screw the consumers, he doesn’t pay his employees either.

Don't even think about using this company!

The service rep will lie to you about other companies using their name: hence the bad reviews. I have lived in 18 states and moved over 50 times and I have never dealt with such a sorry *** company as this! Tons of damaged and missing items. Have sent over 30 emails with pics of the damaged items and listed the missing (theft) items. My office desk arrived in 6 pieces and who looses a box spring among other several big items? Have been trying to get claim forms since Sept 5th!! I have emailed and called so many times with no answer from anyone! I have reported them to FMCSA and the BBB and they don't care! They did not even acknowledge the BBB report on them.

Absolutely horrible to deal with

Arrived three hours late for pickup. Was informed when they arrived that they only took cash or money order, no cards (despite the fact that when booking I was told I could use a card). Pick up was on a Tuesday, was told they would deliver on Thursday. Got a call Wednesday night saying it would be three hundred dollars more than the quotes price, despite the inventory actually being less than what they quoted me for. After numerous phone calls, they said they would knock of a hundred dollars. Gee thanks. Tried to get in touch with them again, told me they would deliver Friday. I'm still waiting on the delivery...

Nationwide Movers: Bait and Switch

Tonight, Nationwide movers dropped our $8,000, nine-foot Steinway, grand piano on the cement steps at least three times. The top cover was severely damaged. It was cracked completely through the width of the wood, from the front to the back. The movers took over four hours to bring the piano from the truck into the house. As a result the whole move went on for fifteen hours and boxes had to be placed inconveniently rather than where we had planned for them. We will need to hire more movers to correct the problems left us by Nationwide. It is clear that these employees did not know how to professionally move a piano. They were at severe risk for bodily harm themselves because they needed five movers and only had three. In New Jersey at least one of the movers arrived smelling of alcohol. When the driver said he needed additional movers the dispatcher said none were available. An ad was placed in a local paper, suggesting that the company had not planned for professional piano movers, but instead picked them up at the last minute. It is also clear that the company did not communicate our plans about installing the piano on the instrument dolly once delivered. Apparently the gentleman “***,” who initially took our detailed information, did not effectively communicate our wishes on a number of items to the dispatcher; or ****** failed to adequately communicate with the driver. The information our driver had on his cell phone did not match what we had given ***. We had given him detailed measurements to the inch of every item several months before the move date. *** gave us, verbally, a guaranteed price for the move based on our information. The driver said that the move took up more space than was allotted in the original statement, even though we declined to move 14 large, previously planned items and had planned with *** for 100 boxes and had in fact ninety-seven. Also, the pictures and paintings, which were planned to be moved were ignored by the movers entirely; although they were said by *** to be included for no extra fee. In the face of these facts the driver charged us $1,000 more that our “guaranteed price”. The driver appeared to want to blame our "inexperience" with moving for a lack of knowledge regarding your particular regulations for charges. For example: a “bed” is considered by your company to be a mattress, box spring and metal frame. If it has a headboard and or footboard, these are added separately. We had two of these sets, and yet *** did not tell us of this calculation. Neither were we informed there was a $75.00 fee for each additional floor and basement. This hidden fee amounted to $300.00 over two houses. It is dishonest and frankly illegal for your business to not inform the customer of the rules for financial charges prior to the move. To have a guaranteed price given but then increased at the last minute is a form of “bait and switch.” According to Dictionary.law.com “…In most states this practice is a crime and can also be the basis for a personal lawsuit if damages can be proved.”

PATHETIC!!

I used Nationwide Movers and what a HUGE GIGANTIC MISTAKE!! The so called foreman Rami was extremely rude and full of *** sarcastic comments. He tried to increase the quoted price from the manager by $600 and after I refused, he got angry and tried to stop the other two guys from loading the truck. Not to mention they were almost 2 hours late. The two movers named Robert and Jessie did the best they could and were far more professional than the Rami, the foreman. This was a last minute choice to use this company. I wouldn't advise anyone to use them even if it was just across the street! Rami has a very rude, nasty attitude, and has no communication skills. We actually got into a heated exchange. The office stated the moving fee could be paid by check, money order, or credit card. Well because Rami caught an attitude over my refusing to pay the additional $600, I then was forced to get the cash from my bank because he flat out refused any other form of payment. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS RIPOFF COMPANY!!!

BEWARE!! NATIONWIDE MOVING CO ARE LIARS AND THIEVES

07/31/2016 BEWARE!! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! MOVERS WERE THUGS!! Nationwide Moving Co. 1-80*-722-**** @***.nationwidemoving.com not to get it confused with Nationwide mover @***.nationwide-mover.com although they try to pass itself off as this great company with a A+ rating with the BBB, ARE LIARS AND THIEVES . Nationwide Moving Co was hired to do a Move from a town in Hollywood Florida to Cape Coral Florida on July 31st, 2016 the invoice that was emailed to me was for $510.00 The estimate included 3 men and a 28 ft. truck. The night before the move I received a call to let me know that the driver would be there between 9am and 11am on Sunday morning. The day of the move my youngest child and I waited until 10:45am to which I got the first call from the dispatcher saying the driver was 20 min away so we waited and waited they finally showed up at 12:30pm. When they arrived there were only 2 men and a smaller truck from what I was told and what i was promised from my invoice. I tried calling the corporate office to address my concern but they were closed during weekends. I began to worry about going over the time frame i had agreed and the possibility being charged additional hourly rates because they were short one man. With some much stuff still to load I knew I had to call my daughter and her boyfriend to help. We found ourselves helping the movers take all of the furniture out of the house and load into the truck as well. During the last part of loading of the movers began asking for money I knew I need to give them $255.00 which was half of the moving of $510 cost. However the movers insisted that $300.00 was the least they would take and if I didn’t give it to them they wouldn’t leave to our new house and the clock was ticking. So I gave them the $310.00 so we could leave. They took my new address and left before me. My child and I were alone at the new location and upon the trucks arrival they began asking for another $300.00 or they wouldn’t start taking things off the truck. I told them that I didn’t have that much money on me and that the cost was $510.00 I didn’t expect to be shaken down for more $$money but clearly the movers took advantage of a single mother. They insisted that I needed to go to the bank's ATM now and that the clock was ticking the guy taped on his watch and laughed. I asked what are they charging me altogether and his response was "You better hurry up or we will simply take our time”. When I got back and gave them the money in cash that they demanded they opened up the truck and started taking the stuff off the truck but instead of inside of the house most was placed in the garage as they dropped the boxes and scratched up my furniture. I started to cry because I was hearing glass break and I couldn’t stop them from being so rough. Once they got all the stuff off of the truck that evening they went into my kitchen and said they needed 60 more dollars for the tip. I said I only had $40.00 he snatched it out of my hand. I asked for the paperwork he said he had to get it out of the truck and drove away without giving me the receipt. Altogether I paid them $650.00 it was supposed to be $510.00 plus tip. I feel like Nationwide Moving Co. and whoever they subcontracted took full advantage of a single mother with a child and broke a lot of my things and scratched up and damaged my furniture. The next day on Monday Morning I called the company to alert them of the situation and explained what had happen and their response was all I paid was $510 and if any additional moneys was given to the movers it must have been a tip!! I was basically robbed. I did not get what I promised and because of their poor quality of service and negligence I received I was force to rent a smaller U-Haul truck at an additional cost of $260.00 to finish the move correctly. *** CUSTOMER BEWARE** I have all receipts and have taken pictures of all of the damaged items for you to view upon your request. Shame on you,

Nonchalant, Disrespectful Liars!

If there was a way to give a negative rating, I WOULD. Carmen contacted me when I was looking for quotes online to move from MO to SC and was very genuinely concerned and seemed like she wanted to help me. I guess that's how anyone would act when they want your business. I initially called her to cancel service because another company had called me to get business and asked whom I chose and I told them...he proceeded to tell me about all the bad reviews but I heeded no warning because I know they bash each other to get business...I WISH I'D LISTENED, IT WOULD HAVE SAVED ME MANY HEADACHES! On 1/14, I was given a pickup time of around 3p, they showed up a little after noon and I was still packing?! Once all was said and done, I was given a delivery date of 1/17, which I thought was great, being that Carmen promised me a 3 to 5 day delivery window...LIE! Needless to say, I didn't get my things until 1/25 and to my horror, 4 wooden chairs to my kitchen table were badly chipped, scratched and scuffed...not even covered like the driver told me they would be once he got them to the warehouse. Many boxes were damaged as if they'd been thrown around, which the driver's helper informed me that my things were just thrown around when they went to pick them up and he also informed me that the warehouse worker told him that 5 or 6 boxes were missing????? The driver didn't even mention this and seemed very nonchalant and told me to file a claim. By the end of the move, I asked where my vacuum cleaner was and no one knew or even said they saw it?! I found the hose but no vacuum and I'd just bought it about 4 months ago! It's amazing how tentative Carmen was to get my business but once issues arised, her response to me became more and more infrequent. January 26th, she did reply to my complaint about the chairs and that she was sorry and they'd take full responsibility...LIE! Recently, I had my husband call and ask for her, pretending to want a quote and once she got on the phone, I took over and discussed my issues, which she put me on hold and transferred me????? From the very first day of delivery 1/25, I'd been emailing this company with issues and missing items as I was gradually unpacking over 50 boxes and was told my claim would be processed. When I didn't hear from anyone, verbally after a week, I called to discuss and was transferred to a very rude manager named Ron...he really could care less and was more upset about the discounts given for the move than he was about being humane about my missing items and even stated that I was going to inflate my damages just like everyone else????? I could not believe the way I was talked to by a company that was supposed to be professional and seemed like they cared to get my business. My life's worth was in that truck and being a first time mover to another state, this has been horrific! I wouldn't care if the move was $1, it does not excuse losing my irreplaceable items that I worked so hard for. He actually had the audacity to have an attitude because I was very upset. I then talked to Dave who seemed equally nonchalant and told me that since I was harassing them that if they found my stuff, it would be discarded?????? WTF???? But, in the same breath, told me he found 2 boxes and that they would be sent to me, but, anything after that would be destroyed?????? I could not believe what I was hearing. Never in my life had I been treated so badly by a professional and I've dealt with lots of them. I was even willing to not file a claim just to get my stuff back, that's how important my things are to me...may not mean nothing to them, but, it does to me! How would they feel if they were in my shoes????? I've called 2/11 and 2/12 and only getting voicemails...when I did get a live body, was again, transferred to voicemail. I regret the day I used this company and with all the complaints, absolutely cannot believe they are in business still. This people need to practice humanity and not worship the mighty dollar at the expense of consumers. I JUST WANT MY STUFF, BOTTOM LINE!

Lied, Lied, Lied

These people lied from day one. I made my reservation 4 months in advance and put down a deposit to ensure everything would happen as scheduled. What a dummy I was. I moved from Fl to NH. I didn't get my furniture for 17 days. Alanna assured me it would only take maybe 5 days. They charged me an additional fee to use Am Ex at delivery. They broke so much stuff it became almost absurd. They ruined a door trying to SHOVE a recliner thru it. To top it all off they didn't speak enough English to understand me when I told them which room to put the furniture in. It was the WORST moving experience I have ever had.
