Falling from leaking eaves troughs

I had them do my roof and eaves troughs. The roof was supposed to be a Canadian Product. They switched that and I found out it was a US product when I received the warranty in the mail. They didn't care. Winter came and the eaves troughs leaked and Mother Nature creates ice rinks on my driveway. I fell. I have been calling and emailing for a yr. now. The eaves at the garage were not made the proper length so I could put my rain barrels under them. I told the guy when he was there, at least 3 times "Not to the ground - short so the rain barrels could fit under." I think these people have a problem with eng. Josh tells me he is busy and will get to it. Guess what!? He rarely answers my emails and when he does "He'll get to it." But when? We are now into 2019 and I fell again. I am a senior and I don't need a broken hip. If that does happen, I have a good lawyer. Like the other comments, they make promises and don't keep them. And yes they leave a mess behind. DON'T BUY A ROOF FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Metal Roof Outlet - Roofing Review from Norwich, Ontario

Google reviews aaroncrabbe aaroncrabbe in the last week My unfortunate metal roof outlet experience In Aug 2014 I decided it was time to replace my roof. I called and got quotes from manny places but decided to go with the metal roof outlet because they appeared to be very professional. Boy was I wrong. The first thing I told Art, who was the guy quoting the roof, was I only expect people to do what they say they are going to do and if for some reason things change then all that is needed to be done I'd to let me know. Metal roof outlet did neither of these things for me. First I was told the roof would be done before snow fall. When January rolled around I had to call to and ask what the hold up was. The next week they come out and do my roof. I got a call explaining that they would not be able to do the flat top on my roof but the sloped part was done and they would be back next week when it would be sunny so they could finish it. When I got home I was greeted with a yard full of screws and debris that the workes had left for me to clean up. Somtime around April, and still my roof was not complete. I had to call once again. Within a couple weeks they came to finish. Great I finally have a new roof. This time when I returned from work I once again found my yard in a mess. This time shattered glass from when they had tossed the skylight off the roof. When I went to inspect the job I found they had used osb and not plywood like I was promised. Yet another lie from the "professional" company. At this point I'm pissed and toltaly unhappy with my experience. I thought I would be looking up at my new roof and be happy to have a beautiful lifetime roof that I should not have to worrie about for years. Instead when I look at my roof it just reminds me that I paid $15,000 to have to deal with all this. The bright side was It was over and I would never have to deal with them again. Well I was wrong. At the end of July my wife pointed out to me that part of the roof did not look right and that I should go up and inspect it. Well sure enough they had missed capping a whole corner. Also the evestrough was still filled with debris. Cleaning the evestrough was another thing that I was told was included in the price of the roof buy the salesman. Now I'm really upset. I take pictures and go down to talk to someone in person. My plan was to ask for the cap so I could do it myself because clearly they were not capable. Well turns out everyone other than salesmen leave early on Fridays and there is no one to talk to. I explain to the salesmen my troubles though they would not verbally say that I was screwed the look on their faces said plenty. I was told to contact josh and he would take care of it. I got a call back the next week with lots of apologies and yet more promises that the job would be finished and the evestrough would be cleaned. I asked, why bother? I'm just going to have to pay someone to come do it after. I was told that it would be done properly and I would not have anything to worrie about. Well last winter my evestrough was still overflowing and dripping all over my deck. I thought well they are clean so that can't be the problem. Well I finally got a ladder and went up to take a look and guess what? My evestrough is filled with peat moss. So just like I figured the metal roof outlet did another *** job. I now have a $15,000 roof that I have no confidence in. I cannot believe the troubles, phone calls and lies that took place during this transaction. If I could return this roof and get my money back I would in a second. I often wonder how manny roofs they have done that are garbage but because most people don't know what they are looking at they go unnoticed. Everyone that works there should be embarrassed by the way they make a living and the quality of work they do. Unless you enjoy making alot of phone calls and inspecting everything they touch, DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE!!!!

Coating coming off our 15 year old steel roof.

We have the same problem with the coating coming off the roof in several places and a bare rusty look is what we now have in many places. Since we had ours done the company was sold and we are between a rock and a hard place. Before it was sold the person who sold us the roof succeeded in getting part of the roof, a small portion, replaced at no cost. Then the company was sold. Yesterday we went from London to Metal Roofing Outlet in Courtland, I guess they are the new owners, to discuss the problem. They claim that they have a new coating on the steel that is supposed to be much better. Verbally they are saying fhat they will replace the roof at their bare cost which was approximately half of the $14,000.00 we spent to get a roof that would last us for fifty years, according to their literature. We put the roof on before I retired so we would not have to replace it in our life time. Now retired, on a limited income, we are looking at spending a bundle to get back our nice curb appeal. I would have been better to put on an ordinary tar roof at about 1/4 the cost and replaced in fifteen years which would be next year and have a nice looking roof. WARRANTIES ARE SOMETIMES WORTHLESS and are just a bunk of sales ***.

50 yr warranty ... yeah, sure.. till I needed it 8 yrs after the installation date.

When my mother-in-law told me she needed a new roof on her tri-plex.. she said she wanted to buy "the best". I was reluctant at first (due to the cost).. but DLD's sales propaganda and their "honest" salesman assured my 80yr old mother-in-law and I, that they were the roofing professionals, and that they would select the best possible product for her roof and that it had a 50year warranty .. so.. she had her asphalt shingle roof replaced with a metal roof system from DLD. Late last year, her neighbor commented that it looked like her roof was changing color.. "looks like it's rusting or something". I contacted DLD and asked them what they thought may be happening. Their comment: "maybe it was just sand or something from a local construction site" (I explained there weren't any in my area). I asked if they could stop by and take a look at it. I was told that since the weather was getting cold, and since we had a light dusting of snow.. that they would come in the spring. She took my info, but they never called. I waited until mid May 2014 and then finally called them back. I was told that a roofing "specialist" would take a look. He did, and then called me the next day.. That was when I was told that the product they used was failing and that the coating was coming off. They said that for a small fee (north of $1000) they could "spray it". I asked if just painting it would be good enough for the remaining 40+ years? I was told.. it's hard to say. I then asked why would we spray the roof rather than just replace the failing product. They said they could do that ..but it would cost quite a bit more. I said I was assuming it would be done under warranty. I was then told that I should call the office and speak with the manager. (another clue that I was in for trouble). When I called.. I was told that the company that produced the shingles (Dura Loc) had gone bankrupt and that the 50yr warranty, would not be honored. I said I didn't understand how that was possible since I had just driven buy the Dura Loc facility in Courtland Ont. (just up the road from DLD) a couple of weeks earlier and it was still there and looked to be very much still in business. I was then told that yes.. it was still there.. but was now owned by new people who are not responsible for the older warranties. I explained that I bought the very expensive roof system from DLD and while I was sympathetic to their issue with the manufacturer.. I still expected DLD to warrant the product (since it was DLD that took my almost $12,000). I was told that they were not obligated to warrant the product since it was a manufacturers warranty but that they would help (a little) with the cost of the repair. Needless to say .. I was not happy with the explanation.. and am certainly in no hurry to give them any more money. I communicated with them politely and professionally for 2 more emails and was told that they would not be replacing or repairing the roof under warranty. So .. if you choose them to do your roof.. I wish you luck and hope that you actually have a warranty when it is needed.

I am not happy with the work they did .

Metal Roof Outlet, AKA Dura-lock Roofing, AKA DLD Roofing installed a Allmet metal roof on my house on around August 10 2010. The sheets have a gap of up to 1/4" where the shingles overlap. I spoke to the company and they said this was their normal quality of work. They damaged my end wall siding which now will have to be replaced or repaired and painted. So that the other end walls match they will need to be done as well. They damaged my eave troughs so they will need fixing and painting. They do not have a good seal where the roof meets the end wall.
