Nobody respond to waraanty

I purchased a new home last June, filed warranty claim in February, nobody responded to my warranty, called warranty dept, left several message, no one responded

Don't buy from Meritage

They suck you in to use their preferred lender and get your deposit without telling you it will not get refunded if the loan doesn't go through within a certain amount of time. they take forever to close and let the time allotted for the return on the deposit to expire before they deny you for the loan and fail to give you back the earnest money.

Multiple issues in Meritage home we own

Oh where to start! We moved into our Meritage Home in 2017. We had a leak in the roof the first week. We have already had to replace our tankless water heater because Meritage put the cheapest and lowest efficiency water heaters in their homes. And yes, we always flushed an maintained the water heater as required. NOW, our AC unit (Coil) has to be replaced. Quotes ran from $8k to 10K. However, we are now finding out that the AC repair people cannot get the damn unit out of the attic because Meritage did not make the hole big enough to get unit out. So, now we have to pay a carpenter to make the damn hole big enough. Meritage also did not register our AC unit for warranty nor did they tell us to register our unit. I have attempted to call Meritage twice with no return. I tried to submit a claim and couldn't even get that done. I could go on and on about other issues our neighbors have had with their Meritage home. BUYER BEWARE!!

Roof / solar panels design & installation was installed incorrectly when they built our house

We purchased our house 7 years ago. We had a roof leak in Nov 2022 and it damaged the inside of our house ceiling and cabinets. We found out that the roof / solar panels design & installation was installed incorrectly when they built our house based on multiple roofing companies coming to our house to evaluate the damage. We spoke with Meritage Homes and they said that the warranty on a roof was for only 2 years. The roof was probably leaking from the beginning but the roof damage did not show up until now. Meritage Homes would not take any responsibility for their mistake.

Black mould im my house after i move to this house and my garage door get fall off on my both car

The Meritage company who are the builders is not responsive to my calls. (They don't respond) I had to miss work sometimes because they told me that they are going to be @ my place to fix the issues, and they never showed up. Unfortunately, almost everything in the house has problems. We found mold inside the house and actual mushrooms growing in the brand-new place. We were trying to get pregnant, and that will affect us badly. My wife has seen that and the whole plan got messed up. The other issue is the garage door that didn't work properly, and it dropped on our car, which caused damage. Now they are saying they are not responsible for the damages that happened. One other big issue that we had is the furnace which makes the downstairs cold and upstairs hot. I called the furnace place, and they weren't responding, I went to their office to ask for help, and they kicked me out of their office. Very unhappy and unfair the way they are trying to handle the issues. Please let me know if you need anything else from us or any other information that I can send over. Poor everything

Horrible! Once you purchase your house and completed the survey that is all they want. I complete the survey in good faith that I was calling with honest people. I still have repairs needed since before I closed! Four months ago almost! I feel discriminated against, we have been neglected and seeking an attorney at this point. It's very sad almost 300000 for our home promises has all been just talk. Don't do it! The talk is good until you sign and complete the survey. Ceiling separating, repairs are needed and showers are disgusting promised would be resurfaced before closing, paint some areas look like preschoolers did it. The list goes on disappointed to say the least. Run they are not honest and it's impossible to get results.rushed unprofessional job in so many ways!

MANY issues with home!!!!!

I would like to escalate the MANY problems that we have encountered. We have been blown off, and ignored by our community managers and it's costing us money out of pocket. The management team for our home in Clayton, NC promised us the world before the closing, now that we have issues we can't even get a phone call back. I would like someone to contact me and let me know how to escalate this! If I don't get a response I will seek out legal advice. If you want cheap labor, don't be surprised when your customers are furious because unprofessionals built these homes. We have had problem after problem with this house. I will also file a complaint with the better business bureau. Jennifer D

Construction Delays

Meritage Homes is a company that is an absolute nightmare to work with. We fell for the illusion that our amazing sales experience gave us and put down money for a house in Harpers Preserve, a bad decision that we have now come to regret. Our place is well past the construction deadline, yet we are unable to move in due to constant construction and electricity delays. Meritage Homes made a commitment to us to have electricity in the whole area, yet they still dont have any. The amount of delays that this problem has caused does not seem to faze the management team, considering how unbothered they seem. Meritage should not have made promises they couldnt keep!

The worst customer service ever

Weve just closed on the house in Sarasota, Fl. The last several weeks were horrible, so much stress, we caught Meritage employees lying several times. Working ethics are low. They kept pushing and scaring us into closing on the property before the house was done. They did finally scared us and we signed papers, there are still things that need to be completed. The very same day after Meritage received their money, they stopped responding to our messages. Stay away from this company!

Don’t buy from Meritage, unless you want to have a nightmare

The sales person let me know they are goal is to let us to move in ASAP and the missing or repair parts will do after we move in. After we moved in, called/emailed/texted, nobody responded. The kitchen sink missed a part (hi-low) was not replaced and kept water leaking for over 3 months, the stove was installed 4 months later after (too much to list).Last week one of the person working in the office called me and let me know the warranty is only 30 day for thing that I requested, I received an email today and let me the warranty is only under 10 days ..this is how they plan the game

Warranty and support

Meritage just builds the home but they don't provide the warranty support. Support from meritage builder is not upto the mark. For each and every issue they specify it is not under warranty. I had first floor roof issue they specified it is not under warranty. Meritage specified structural warranty is for 10 years but now they specified it is not under warranty. It is better to avoid buying home with Meritage.

Sales Strategies

Since I decided to buy a home from Meritage Homes, I feel stressed out and devastated because there are manipulation, brain games and tricks in their sales strategy.They send you a document which depicts it is a binding contract and sign it carefully ,then the sales person says it is not contract.They are pushy in every step.They aren't open and eager to collaborate you. Especially, if you are a person with a language barrier like us ,make sure that your realtor is a knowledgable, honest person and stand by you, not the seller.

Not the real company

I Nima Hessari and Sara Zamani have been disputing in regard to our newly home that was purchased back in August 19th 2021. As a first buyer , we have been surprised with lots of circumstances from the day we entered our home. As soon as noticing anything , we did our duty to report it without any hesitations and expected to have it fixed . We had to take days off from work for free to have someone over to fix the issues, but remained pending . Here we are March 28th 2022 , nothing has been done . We decided to follow up this case with a lawyer who could help us through this . Our garage door was broken 10 days after walking in (we had to park the cars on the street, which did put at risk one of the cars / hit-and-run accident at midnight) and hasn't been fixed yet ! Atlases a 30 degrees temperature differential all over the place (there is no air return ventilation on the main floor) Allied hasn't taken responsibility over that yet Lots of cracks on the walls and ceilings pipes under second bathroom had lickings and damaged its cabinet / and its baseboard The punch item (return filter grill) was damaged and Allied technician came to fix it but instead made a bigger damage The main entrance carpet and master bedrooms walking closets carpet were burned and hasn't been changed Mechanical room was affected by black molds and damaged the carpet Baseboards under the kitchen cabinets weren't attached properly Most of our doors don't close properly As soon as stepping the stairs, it makes noises (it shouldn't make noises already) Garages side doors have an open room The main entrance door has open spaces on the sides when its closed ((ant sit in the office room during winter ) This letter includes all the pending damages that have put our safety and security at risk. We understood and been patient enough , we are asking for compensation for those headaches and troubles that was absolutely unnecessary for us to deal with . Kindly, Nima Hessari

Poor workmanship and employees

They built our home lived there two years it was never right. Ceiling split 3 days after we moved it, 2 years later still was not tight. Construction manager was horrible and customer service was worse. Dont do it. So many reputable homebuilders to buy with look further

Warranty Unprofessionalism

The new home we purchased in Feb 2021 has so many issues. The main issue is the two front windows. There are really bad water leaks coming through the screws inside the frames of the windows. When the rain is heavy, the water flows from the roof down toward the first window at the top and to the next window. Then, the water literally pours inside and has caused major damage to the window frames and down toward the interior walls and floors. I am so tired of this! I have called and called and emailed and texted multiple people to get this rectified since June 2021! It's September. This should not be happening In a brand new built home that costs over $300k! I feel a lawyer will have a heyday with this!
