Impressed by the Denton TX University location

The absolute best service, every employee was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was so clean. It was such a pleasurable experience. The food was fresh and clean. Living in a college town most places are sub par at best and do not even put in 25% of what this location delivers. I am so impressed. I really hope that the store can be rewarded in some way.

Incorrect Order

Today, 08/17/2023, at 10:16 a.m. I visited the McAlister's Deli located at 2525 West End Avenue, Nashville TN to purchase a to-go order. There was only one other customer when I arrived so they were not overwhelmed with business. I ordered food and Unsweet tea. The woman with purple in her hair asked me to repeat the order THREE times during the ordering process. When I received my order I didn't realize it is my responsibility to check my order thoroughly before I left the establishment. My mistake. I admit I was in a hurry. My husband had just been released from Vanderbilt Medical Center and I was in a hurry to get him home and situated. I took the food, two glasses of tea, and a gallon of tea and drove the 50 miles to my home. When I took the order into the house I discovered it was not Unsweet Tea, but SWEET tea. My husband and I do not drink sweet tea so I poured $14.50 of sweet tea down the drain. When I read the receipt the lady with purple in her hair had put down sweet tea. This tells me she did not listen, thought everyone in the South drank sweet tea or just didn't care because it was a to-go order. This is not the first time this establishment failed to provide the correct order. In the past, I just tried to rationalize how it happened. Not this time. My husband and I are both retired and on a fixed income. Again, $14.50 does not seem like much to you, but in today's economy, it matters. This is upsetting to me. As a veteran, I go to the VA hospital just a few blocks away. from the Nashville location. The deli location was a convenient stop before driving the 50 miles back to Clarksville TN. The lesson I learned from this experience is to drive an additional ten miles from my home to go to the Franklin TN McAlister's Deli when I want your famous tea. I will not be going back to the Nashville location again.

Serving old food it looks like in the sumter sc location. Mac and cheese was brown. Had not been to location in awhile because my previous order they gave me was expired chicken salad.

Employee threatened customers

My fiancé ordered a salad, waited on the salad for 40 minutes went inside to talk to the cashier. She said the cashier was very rude to her. She filed a complaint, the manager of the store called her to resolve the problem then later on that evening the mother of the cashier called her at 11 PM and threatened her. My question is why and how was a disgruntled employees mother able to get my fiancés phone number

Order On 07/02/2023

Hello. I placed an order that was 42 DOLLARS. I asked them for two shareable nachos , 16 OZ macaroni and a kids meal. The kids meal was perfect. I dont see how you could mess that up. But we got our order around 1 PM and the macaroni was extremely distasteful. Hard pieces of shell, the macaroni sauce was WATERY and it wasnt even close to room temperature considering it was in a sealed container. Then onto the shareables. They werent packaged right at all. They cup of cheese for one of them were slightly open , so the cheese was spilling out in the bag, we didnt know until we got home and unwrapped everything. The nacho platters were half size for both shareables so we got literally less than a handful for each platter. The shareable itself is worth like 10 bucks but the servings we got were worth 5 dollars. I got the ultimate platter and the amount of toppings I had overflowed the nachos because of the chip amount so it was overly sloppy. And the other platter didnt even have enough cheese to cover the nachos lol. Its ridiculous for 42 dollars and a 25 minute wait. When I called the restaurant they werent sympathetic at all and just offered to add more chips. Like WHAT?? NO AT THIS POINT I WANT A FULL REFUND. It wasnt just the chips that was the problem. Is was the majority of the order. McAlesters doesnt really ever disappoint and it might just be the location but this trip was horrible and I was left extremely dissatisfied with my order. I shouldnt feel a drag in my day over the quality and service of food that I paid for. Please fix this somehow.

What i deserve

Updated by user Jul 05, 2023
I have yet to hear anything as of now. it hasn't been long since the review/emal, so i would expect as much. The last thing i heard was a text delivering a message to me from one of my coworkers letting me know that they all were "pissed dude." As soon as i realized...

Hello. i currently work at your restaurant in Tennessee, and recently i requested approval via instagram for a partnership between us. i have worked at your establishment for many years now and i believe we could grow our business relationship even larger still. i love my job and the people who work along side me. What i am asking for is approval on instagram first of all. Second i am asking for a pay raise in my current position as a BOH team member. i mainly work salads/spuds but i perform all over the restaurant. From using ladders unsupervised against OSHA safety rules to removing bird nests/waste electrocuted and/or shocked, to making sandwiches and doing expo and washing dishes and receiving truck orders and doing ALL the heavy lifting for able bodied friends, and just to add; i do ALL of these things on almost every single shift i clock in for. These are just some of the reasons i chose to write this to you. i believe i deserve not only more respect but more compensation for my effort that i put in consistently. As i said i do enjoi my job, and i enjoi those that i work with. Please allow me these things and let us continue with this mostly positive vibe we have going. Thank you for employing me and thank you for being a wonderful company to work for. Please consider these opinions. One love and Bless ~Joshua *stay hydrated!*

Rude unprofessional behavior

There was a manager (Brayden at the Sherwood Way in San Angelo, TX) who was yelling at one of the employees apparently he told her rudely to remove some bracelet, and when she told him ok hold on because she was taking a customer's order, he walked up to her and got in her face and said I don't care what you're doing! Take off your jewelry! At that point the employee, who looked to be 15/16 years old girl, started crying. Then he started laughing at her and walked to the back. And I could still hear him talking about her to other employees. That is so disrespectful for a manager to treat his employees!

Very bad service and food

Good Morning We were traveling home from to Chicago on June 12 2023 and we stopped in to a McAlisters Deli in Mt Vernon IL on 134 N 44th st. There we encounted they were out of many ingrediencies to make menu items. We ordered 2 chicken salad sandwiches with steamed broccoli ( that they did not have ) Horseradish Roast Beef Sandwhich with Mac and cheese We asked for that sandwhch to not be toasted and it was , we asked for the chicken to be on bread not a croissant which it was not. Unfortunately we had already pulled in to the highway so there was no turning back. I have been a loyal customer and have never had so many problems before. I have called the local restaurant and left 2 messages for the management team and no one has returned my calls. I was very put off as the young man making our food was seen by me throwing out stuff out the window that is so unprofessional and just wrong we should have asked for a refund and left but we did not. I am not sure what I am looking for but our total bill was 33.02 maybe a coupon for us to use here at home. Thank you for all your help Lisa Henderson

Mangement is unprofessional

General manager Christy Oliver has her whole family working under her which brings a lot of favoritism at the work place her family is guaranteed 30 or more hours while others get sent home early and not meeting a decent check..

Hair in the Food

I someone who really don't complain or make a scene but today was ridiculous... I previously visited the Mccallister deli on N Shepard in Houston and it was my first time going in a long time...I order the tortilla soup in cup and it was so good i decided to order another cup but this this when I ate it I pulled out some long string of hair, so i told one the employees he apologized and gave me a bowl and that was cool... Well today i went back cause I really did like the soup so i ordered a half salad and a cup of soup and when they brought it out, there on the plate in the salad again was a long piece of hair... I immediately told the manager asked for a refund and just left... They need to have some policy about hair coverings or some way to cover there heads cause no telling how many people have eaten hair and didn't even notice.

Dissatisfied customer

At this point they are just throwing sandwiches together and expecting us to pay for it. Mayo is literally dripping from the sandwich and its disgusting. I will no longer support a business that operates so carelessly.

Management

So I normally don't like bad-mouthing places I go, but after the past several visits at your Tullahoma location I'm surprised anybody wants to go there. First off you got a pair of managers there that take the cake... I've been the "boss" for a long time for the company that I work for and although I'm not in restaurant management I do know as a manager treating your employees like they are complete garbage is not a way to keep them and if you do keep them I'm not sure how they actually do their job the way they're supposed to, the first occurrence my wife said while she was in the restroom they were two of your employees and they're to the brink of tears and all she heard was how much they hated the way they were talked to the way they were treated, she said it could have been a soap opera because apparently nothing they do is correct and even if they are correct nobody "gives a damn" in the words of one of the young ladies, among other awful and to boot these were children maybe 16-17 and I've got to say I've got 5 daughters, and if any of my young daughters ever came home and told me half of what these girls were saying I would be up there ripping apart their bosses. It's absolutely unbelievable that anyone would want whoever these people are running any successful business. The second time I came in a while back my wife asked for my military discount for being a veteran and you had a little lady back there who stated "I wish I would have never started a discount for veterans because they expect me to stop what I'm doing every time just to give them 10% off they should appreciate the fact that other people have family in the military". And when I asked one of the young ladies who this woman was she proceeded to tell me that she was in charge her name was Hope, it upset my wife enough to where I wanted to say something and she asked me not to she was on the *** of tears and she said to just let it go so I did at the time. But today topped it all off today will be the last day that my wife myself or anybody that I am related to or know will be coming into your establishment. I actually sat back and witnessed the same young lady that had my wife on the *** of tears berate not one but two of her employees, I watched the way she talked to these people and the way she addressed them and the way she just thinks that apparently she's God and everybody should be like her, one of your staff shook her head, when I asked if she was ok she stated "I'm used to it!!!" In the world we live in today where there is so much hate and there is so much diversity you think that people still had a shred of decency. But I tell you something nobody is higher than God and she's definitely nowhere close. And for her to be running your business you might want to tell her to smile more and to not look down at people and to not sneer and make lewd comments and earshot of any of your patrons. And don't get me started on the extremely tall guy that walks around grabbing his crotch so much that it makes you pray he washes his hands before touching food, hearing him saying things he probably shouldn't say to his employees and actually coming out to talk to his customers. I've had a few people tell me that he or the other managers won't even come to talk to them if there's a problem, they just send one of the employees out and they just tell them they will "take care of it" again I don't usually like to complain but after multiple occasions of something happening I couldn't stand by anymore. Your food is good A little overpriced but hey it's 2023, but I refuse to spend my money and my time into an establishment that has these kind of people running it, I sure hope that you will get things together because I am not the only one who feels this way, and I've had acquaintances that have mentioned the same behavior, I will be taking my business elsewhere, good luck your business and yo your employees I don't need a phone call, or anything else, I'm DONE

Horrible customer service/ quality of food/ order was not made

My husband and i order from this restaurant religiously. 3 times this month I have placed orders online. That your employees can not seem to get correct. Each time I place the order, pay for the order and am given the wait prompt being 15 minutes. Each time he arrives to pick up the meal it has not been made and they have no clue about the order and insist the order has not been placed. But dont mind keeping my money, and you're by far the most expensive place to eat a sandwich. Each time my husband has to show proof that it has been purchased via me sending a snap shot of the order screen. Why is this process that difficult? After this being the 3rd time it has happened, I called the jefferson city missouri location. The girl on the phone sounded rude and hateful when she answered so automatically I ask to speak with an immediate supervisor or manager. I explain to the manager what i just explained above. Condescendingly your manager calls me "dear" and continues to have no information why the order is ALWAYS messed up. Low and behold its been over an hour since the order has been placed, your manager has no clue, she can not give me any answers. I stated id like to have an answer for something, her response was "i have them working on your food" in a snotty *** tone. (Mind you it is the food that should have been made an hour ago.) That their just now working on. After getting me more pissed off by the tone of voice and condescending remarks "i did state that we would no longer be consumers at this facility, at which point i also mentioned that anyone i know will be informed not to go there." Your wonderful manager states "well thats your choice." (Which it is) then blatantly hangs up on me. I was not rude, hateful, Condescending or otherwise yet your entitled millennial manager took it upon herself to show such upstanding professionalism and hangs up the phone as if she is not going to be told she is incorrect or take any type of action to make the situation right.. What type of business are you people running? Are you so desperate for help that you hire people to treat customers like *** Shame on you for your lack of training for employees and if you do have training.. then shame on you for your lack of holding people accountable. Especially your managers who are supposed to lead by example. Your company makes me sick!! Low and behold my husband arrives home an hour late waiting on this expert display of management you have. I eat most of one half of my sandwich and bite into something hard that crunches in my mouth. Upon taking it out there are little pieces of what appeared to be asphalt or gravel of some sort... almost as if someone wiped the bottom of their disgusting shoe with the bread. Everyone knows there is no black pepper or anything on a reuben that would remotely look like what I had taken out of my mouth. In case you want photos, I have them. Now that its 6:07pm and my husband has to put his students on hold to go back to your facility and return your asphalt sandwich we are now losing money and severely pissed. This is the most repugnant establishment I have ever been a consumer of and we WILL NOT be returning as promised on the phone by your entitled manager.. i would really like to know how in the *** it is ok for any of your employees to speak like this to customers, let alone a manager. Now i know why the first employee was so snotty and rude, because the manager is, and employees see that and repeat the behavior. Where is your code of conduct? Its just really unfortunate in our town that some of the other restaurants did not survive covid and this one did. Good luck with your future endeavors. I can and will spend my hard earned money somewhere else. For the price of a sandwich i could feed the homeless where I live. Maybe ill start there.
