WASHING MACHINE DEAD AFTER 8 MONTHS

I bought a new Maytag washer and dryer in December 2022. The washer stopped working properly in July 2023. Maytag wants to charge me to repair this machine. I am not going to repair this junk. I will scrap it and buy a different brand. Also If I run the dryer on the high temp setting it gets way too hot!!! Other brands from Maytag are: Kitchenaid, Amana, and Whirlpool. buyer beware!

New Maytag Washer

My last Maytag washer lasted 37 years; never had a problem. New Maytag washer dead after 4 months. It requires many parts and they have no idea when or if these parts are available anywhere in the world. Try phoning Maytag for update and their automated system is excellent at looping you through the universe without ever reaching a human being. How do companies keep getting away with this horrendous customer No service?

Horrible Customer Care and misleading Warranty

I have had Maytag washers all of my life in numerous homes and never again. The Control Panel on my 2 and 1/2 year old washer went out. The repair team replaced it. While on sight it popped, sparked and failed. The technician deemed it was the motor. Maytag will cover the Motor but NOT the control panel. The bad faulty motor is what destroyed the Control Panel and yet they will not cover both. The repair will be $1,000. Instead of paying $1,000 for the repair, I will spend my $1,000 for a different brand today. Since the beginning of time, the washer has been a lemon...it goes off balance constantly, with little in it...and it requires a refresh tablet every 5-10 loads. Horrible. Sadly I have another house that I intended to replace the washer and dryer with Maytag in a few months...now I will not.

We purchased one of your machines around 6 months ago. It is the washer that does not have an agitator. I have kicked myself repeatedly for buying this machine! I have never had a washer that I considered a total loss. This one is. The clothes do not come clean at all, the bleach dumps onto the clothes in one spot, there's no pausing this machine to add it after the washer starts. We bought this at Lowe's and I have regretted it within the first week. I cannot believe this is still on the market. I do hope there's some solution to this situation. This is the first time I've contacted customer service and hopefully it will be the only time, I am requesting a resolution to this issue. Model: mvw5430mw0 Ser: cb330**** Type: 589-21

Poor quality control

My washing machine (Maytag Model: MVWC565FW2, Serial: CA270****) has been a complete nightmare since about the 6 month mark!!! It started occasionally getting stuck on the rinse cycle. Checked codes, the pump, outlet hose, hose inlets (the easy and common stuff) but couldnt find anything. Attributed the issue to load size, adjusted accordingly and kept using the machine but the issue never totally went away. 2 months ago (machine now just under 2yr of age) it got really bad, cycle almost always stuck on rinse. Throwing code F7E1 Basket speed fault so I changed the shifter/tach, no improvement. Over the next 2 weeks Ive had every piece of this machine apart and tested, motor, belt, pump, capacitor, splutch assembly, main board, everything looked great. Only issue I could find was the basket being physically difficult to spin by hand. Attributed it to a bad gear case and almost parted this thing out on eBay rather than give Maytag another 350$ for a new gear case. On a whim I pulled the basket out to look for something physically resisting spin. Eureka! Found it, the drain pump filter a circular piece of plastic that was supposed to be mounted over the drain/pump outlet was loose and had become wedged under the basket. Odd thing is, based on the spec sheets online this filter should have been secured with a single screw and this screw was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! Remember I had the pump totally apart, outlet hose removed and flushed, etc etc and I never encountered this screw. I find it hard to believe something metal/heavy got carrier 3 ft up the drain hose with such a gentle stream of water. Ive got a strong suspicion this piece was never secured properly right from the factory. Nice quality control Maytag and of course the warranty is virtually useless it only covers 2 items (motor & basket) for the 10yrs. Next time Ill buy a Speed Queen (Huebsch in Canada) and you probably should too. I doubt they forget to mount parts of the machine properly. I get it, everything is made with cheap plastic these days and normal wear and tear is a fact of life but THIS was just rage inducing.

Legal Contact

I represent a client who has had issues since he bought his washing machine. Including 12 service calls in the two years it has been owned. He has been told not to call anymore and there is nothing more that can be done. This happened just prior to the warranty ending. Who do I contact now to rectify the situation and wrongdoings from this reputable company?

Very disappointed in customer service options

I have a Maytag top loader washer which broke down within 4 months of purchase. It took 4 weeks to repair and 4 months later it stopped working again. Same issue. They have refused to replace it and expect us to be satisfied with repairing it again. OR they will give us 35% off the purchase of a NEW ONE. Seriously, they should be ashamed.

Washer does not always work

New computer has been ordered for weeks. It continues to go down hill on performance. Hills with hot water when cold water is selected.

Washer hasn’t worked properly since it was delivered. late February. I have. had service - said needed a new computer - came back not the right part..

The water / cold water was selected - hot water filled the machine. spin - doesnt always spin - clothes are so wet.

I have to wait two months to fix my new dishwasher?

My dishwasher is only four months old now. Stopped working 3 weeks ago and started beeping continually. We went through the warranty process with Maytag and it took three or four days for the repair man to come. Turns out the part is on back order and after calling Maytag twice they are telling me it will be another five weeks. I asked if we can just exchange it for a different unit at Lowes where we bought it but they refused. I tried to escalate it, but they said the escalation team is helping with phone calls and couldnt talk to me but could call me in another couple of days. What kind of company handles customers like that! So I have dishes all over my countertop, both clean and dirty because I cant keep up with five kids hand washing everything. Worst customer service experience Ive had for a LONG time. I will avoid whirlpool and Maytag like the plague from now on. Both the same company. All it would have taken is an authorization to take this dishwasher back and get the same one from Lowes. Its only four months old for crying out loud! You cant expect customers to go without a major appliance like that for two months! If you can repair it then fine, but in a situation like this where the parts arent available, you need to accommodate the customer.

My washer will not fill up with water

It is washing clothes when half are still dry bc water hasnt filled the machine. I put the washer on Deep Fill.

Maytag technicians didn't perform adequate diagnostics

Here is the timeline of our fridge: October 2022 - we placed a Maytag service call since the vegetable in our fridge froze. Technician #1 never showed up, claiming he couldn't fix the problem. Technician #2 showed up on October 27, 2022. He did not diagnose the problem; he only defrosted the ice build-up with a hair dryer, which cost us $150. Technician #3 came in November. He claimed it was the evaporator without even removing the rear panel of the freezer as part of diagnosing the actual problem. On December 14, 2022, the technician replaced the evaporator, which cost us $440.74. However, the issue persisted after two weeks, so we believe the technician didn't need to replace the evaporator. In January 2203, the technician from November returned. Again he diagnosed the problem without even removing the rear panel of the freezer. He claimed that this issue had nothing to do with the previous repair and concluded that the defrost thermistor and wiring harness needed replacement, giving us an estimate of over $400. The December technician did not replace the defrost thermistor last December because Maytag believed it was not defective then. The technician never even provided a detailed work order. Now we have been waiting for the technician to repair our fridge. Maytag told us that they are still waiting for the part. The repair is supposed to be covered by a one-year parts warranty and a three-month labour warranty as of the date long past. The photos demonstrate that replacing the evaporator didn't resolve the problem. You will see from Photo 1 that there is significant ice build-up in the back of our freezer. From our perspective, the root cause of the problem has yet to be identified. This is not a surprise for us since the technicians didn't perform adequate diagnostics, forcing us to spend money on unnecessary repairs.

Dyer not installed

Technician wasnt able to install the my maytag gas dryer because of the difference in the outlet gas shut valve. Please refund the payment of the installation fee as my husband redo everything and bought a new hose and outlet to connect into the gas shut valve.Thank you
