Unexceptable mattress/ company

I purchased a mattress from Mattress Giant 2 years ago. Prior to 2 years the mattress was worn and warped not fit for no man to sleep on. I tried to contact the company by phone and the Internet to have the company honor their warranty I was unsuccessful. I tried going to the store where I purchased the mattress the store was gone without a trace. The company seems to have gone out of business leaving me stuck. Stuck with a no good mattress and funds gone not able to purchase another. Please find a company that's known and reputable before purchasing a mattress

Mattress Giant Return Policy A Scam

I purchased a Kingsdown Kritsten mattress from the Mattress Giant in Mansfield MA and was assured repeatedly that I had 21 days to return the set if I wasn't satisfied. I wasn't. This mattress has zero support. I'm a side sleeper and was scammed by the salesman into believing this was the mattress for me. I did much dickering to get this mattress down in price. Paid cash, bought on the spot, purchased mattress cover, pillows, etc. When I went in to voice my dissatisfaction, I was informed that I had to take something from their inventory. Nothing they had was anything I wanted and I was told I was basically SOL. I was forced to replace my $2499.00 list price set with a $1899.00 list set, because I bought the Kingsdown "on sale". I didn't buy it on sale! To add insult to injury I had to pay $199.00 to have the exchange. I will never shop at a Mattress Giant, Sleepy's, or any mattress store owned by the company these two are, along with several others.

New Mattress Good for 30 Days - No Help

I went into the store and the new manager sold me on a discontinued Sealy memory foam bed. After checking inventory, found that the last one in the area was his floor model. My previous bed was a Sealy from Sam s so I had no reservations about the unit. After 4 weeks, I contacted the store manager and told him the the bed was sinking in the center and was becoming uncomfortable to sleep in. He told me that since I did not buy his expensive mattress cover ($125.00) that my excessive sweating destroyed it and he could do nothing. I explained that the mattress was not the problem, the box spring was sagging; firm on the edges soft in the middle. He looked at me and said that since I purchased the floor model, I was stuck and that I should have purchased a unit from the warehouse. I asked if the unit was damaged, he would not answer yes or no. A unit with a 10 year warranty, even a floor model should last longer than a month. I am a big guy but not bariatric (285lb); I should have gotten minimum 5 years, or 10 like my last cheaper Sealy. BUYER BEWARE WITH THIS STORE.

I bought from Mattress Giant and got scammed !

I bought a highend Queen mattress and box spring from them back in March! The sides started to fold and the middle started to sink in! When we called we got the run around for a month! Finally, someone came out to look at the mattress! An inspector! After two weeks we had to contact them again only to be told that our all wooden bed frame was not sufficient for this queen mattress! That it needed a center support! At no time were we ever told, or have I ever heard that a queen size mattress needing a center support! A king size! Yes! NOT a queen! Now we will sue Mattress giant for there incredible negligence for not honoring there warranty! They wanted us to pay $600 toward a new mattress ! Not likely! We brought this to there attention within the 90 day time period.

Mattress giant, dartmouth massachusetts

i purchased a TOP OF THE LINE SERTA GEL FIRM MATTRESS WITH A MOTORIZED BASE. i walked into the store with a close friend early evening, no one around but Bob, the Salesman, and the District Manager....first thing I asked was....do you have strong knowledge and experience in mattress sales to people with back backs....he chuckled and said he'd been selling for 9 years. He brought me over to the Serta Gel's on display ....one for $3,074 and the other $400 more....he emphasized the 25 year warranty and that i'd have no problem exchanging or returning the item within 90 days of purchase. So I chose the firm Gel and paid a total including that flimsy mattress cover $3,300+ on my master card. It was delivered two days later; I was pleased with the appearance of the set; however, after two miserable nights tossing and turning, I called back and Bob answered and I went over the issues of not only was my back and hips killing me, but the gel was suppose to neutralize the heat from my body to cool me down....that was happening either. He said two days wasn't enough time to determine if it was suitable...i said it was and i wasn't comfortable sleeping on it and wanted to exchange it for the softer mattress. I called him around 930 a.m. and he never returned my call. He said "ah, I have to speak with the district manager about an exchange"....that same night, i got him on the phone, he said he was trying to get a $199 service fee waived by the district manager, that was what he was waiting on....then he talked about another delivery fee and the extra money to purchase another mattresss.....not once during my first visit did Bob ever make disclosures about "costs associated with returns" he said it was no problem to exchange. Today, ive been waiting for a call and again, no return call. my next step is better business bureau and other agencies to submit my complaint as well as a call to master card.

This Company is a ripoff!!!!!!!!!

I purchased a mattress from Mattress Giants not even 6 months ago. The mattress is sinking in on both side, I called in the warranty people they sent someone to the house to check the mattress. I got a letter back from the company with a credit for a new mattress however it does not include the box spring. If you buy a new mattress you also have to purchase the box spring or you warranty will not be valid because you have a mattress from one company and the box spring from another. Doesn't make sense to me so now I have to buy the box spring and pay for it to be delivered. Why should I have to pay AGAIN for delivery on a product that your company is replacing.

Mattress Giant & Simmons

I purchased a plush bed from your Clearwater Florida Store on 12/5/11. sales person was Pam. I paid $175 to do an exchange to an eagleville firm bed which was delivered on 12/22/11. The new bed delivered had a defective seam & the foam was showing through, also the foundation was slanted on one side. Another bed was delivered on 1/13/12, this time there was *** in the bottom seam of the mattress & the new foundation was slanted worse than the previous. This time Pam spoke to the warehouse manager who was to inspect the set to make sure it was perfect, not only was the set delivered on 1/30/12 defective, they sent me a plush instead of a firm, the one delivery guy laughed when I told him it should have been inspected by the warehouse manager. Another set was delivered on 2/8/12, this mattress has defective stitching along the top seam causing overlapping & a loose top, again the foundation was severely slanted. I called Pam at the Clearwater store & asked her if they could just send someone out to fix the seam hole & I would be happy, Pam spoke to Simmons and they said that they would not send out a repair person & I should order another bed. Pam spoke to a Simmons Rep on 2/6/12 & he promised to custom make a bet set for me & he would oversee that it was done correctly. On 2/18/12 I called Pam & found out that her regional manager said that there was no way that Simmons was going to make me a bed, Pam said: (I Quote) My regional manager said that we can send you 1 more set & if you don't like it we will refund your money. I told Pam that this was not an option, I will not take a $175 lost plus not have a bed. Another bed is being delivered on Monday 1/20/12 but after what I have gone through I do not expect anything but another defective bed. This situation was handled very poorly by Mattress Giant. I purchased a bed from Mattress Giant & expected to receive a bed in new condition, not defective with slanted sides, holes in the seams & greasy finger prints from the delivery men. Mattress Giant has provided me with nothing but poor customer service since 12/5/11. The sales people Pam & Dewayne have been extremely understanding & they have done their best to correct this problem but I still have a defective bed & the upper management does not seem to care one bit about customer service. My Guest Number is MACKG68691. I expect Mattress giant to make this right, all I ask for is a quality bed like the one I looked at on the sales floor.

Wrong size, wrong brand mattress delivered.

I paid for a queen-size mattress at the Fernandina Beach, FL Mattress Giant store on 12/22/11. I agreed to delivery on 12/24. Then the salesman said it could be delivered on 12/23. I said okay. On 12/23 two deliverymen took my old mattress out and brought a new one to the 2nd floor. They asked if I was aware that the bed was queen-size and the new mattress was a double. We compared the my receipt with their delivery papers. My info was correct; theirs was for a different brand and size. They called their office, I called the store. All agreed that there had been a computer error. The salesperson said he must have pushed the wrong key. I told the salesman that it was imperative that I have the correct mattress by 12/24. I spoke to another salesperson (senior position). She informed me that no more deliveries would be made in my area until 12/28. I told her that was not acceptable. She told me that I could pick the mattress up myself at the warehouse before noon on 12/24. I drove ten miles to borrow a truck and another 38 miles to the warehouse, where I was told that I couldn't have the mattress I paid for until I returned the other (wrong) mattress. I called the store and asked to have the double mattress picked up when possible (still in the plastic wrapper). The salesperson was extremely rude when she told me she would not release the product I had paid for. sawm I am 70 years old, live alone and have terminal cancer. There is no way I can get a mattress down two flights of stairs and into a truck (if I had a truck). I have driven 96 miles for nothing. My son and his bride are arriving today and I have a double mattress on a queen frame. Rebecca M.

Mattress Giant Doesn't Honor Warranties, Salespeople are dishonest, they win & you lose, big time!

I thought I was getting a great deal on a very expensive bed. The mattress is extremely poor quality even though it is a well known national brand. I just found out that beds are made for retailers and the retailer matters more than the brand on the tag. The sales manager was a true scam artist and I was scammed. He gave me a great song and dance about the mattress in the storeroom that I didn't have to wait to have ordered, a better discount on that one. I was basically ticked into buying an inferior product. If I had wanted a thrift store deal I would have gone to a discount store. I thought I was dealing with first quality merchandise. Mattress Giant does not care about its customers. Once they have your money, you are then stuck with an inferior product. Wish I had read the internet boards before shopping there.

Mattress Giant in Jacksonville is Horrible

My wife and I purchased two box springs and two queen size mattresses on Sunday July 17th at the Jacksonville store on San Jose Blvd (zip code 32223). The sales associate initially told us the beds would arrive at the store three days later on Wednesday July 20th. The very next day the sales associate called to inform us the beds were on back-order but that we could plan on picking them up in one week on Wednesday July 27th. The back-order was not a problem. We did not have an issue waiting an additional week to pick up our order. I called the San Jose Blvd store today (7/27) to verify the beds had arrived. Our sales associate was not working but the assistant manager told me that the beds had not been delivered to the store. Not only had our beds not been delivered but he said "the beds had never been ordered"! I was stunned. Additionally he stated that he could have the beds in the store by Friday if we ordered them today. He didn't explain why I needed to order additional beds when I had already ordered and paid for two beds a week and a half ago. I would like to know: 1) Is it company policy to take money from customers and never order the product? 2) When did the sales team plan to contact us to let us know the products did not arrive at the store on the revised, agreed upon delivery date? Had I not initiated the phone call myself we would have been in for a big surprise when we arrived to pick up our beds at the store this evening Mattress Giant must be very proud of the gold medal customer service their sales force exhibits. I'll bet every single one of their associates is required to attend a grueling 15 minute customer service training program before they are allowed to interact with live people. I look forward to sharing our wonderful experience at this store with all of our neighbors. Our house is a mere half mile from the store. The referral business we generate will send sales through the roof! PS...If Mattress Giant is not going to place and fill our order, is it too much for me to ask for my money back so that I could purchase the product from another vendor?

Terrible Customer Service by MattressGiant

I purchased a double sized mattress and matching box spring from MattressGiant for a residential shore home. The mattress has been used MAYBE 10 times over the course of 2 1/2 years. Lately, my mother-in-law complained that when sleeping on the mattress, you sink down in the middle of the bed. I had my husband lay down and it did the same thing. He likened it to being like a "turtle on its back". He had a hard time getting out of the bed. I submitted my claim and pictures to MattressGiant and they denied my claim based on the fact that the "impression" of the mattress is less than the 1 1/2 inches that the warranty allows when measuring the mattress with no one actually sitting or lying on the bed. I submitted photos of my husband just sitting on the side of the bed and the measurement was over a 3 inch impression. Bottom line, the mattress is defective and I spend a lot of money with this company. I furnished 4+ bedrooms with new bedding from this company and spend thousands of dollars. I will NEVER purchase from them again nor will I ever purchase another Sealy mattress. As I said to their Customer Care, word-of-mouth can be a very powerful marketing tool....pass this along and prove me right!

The employees get ripped off.

The bottom line is, as a former employee of the company, you could ask 100 employees and get the same answer. Mattress Giant is an inside ponzi scheme taking from their employees. It is no wonder the salespeople stink and they can't keep good employees. They are continually stealing from their employees and doubling the price for customers. All the employees of substance and quality have left and they are stuck with unhappy disgruntled employees. You wonder why you had a bad experience? I think I have summed it up for you. An unhappy employee does not have concern for you, we are continually chasing our money not yours!
