Satisfied Client 5+ Years

Main Street keeps my website beautiful and professional, and their SEO is the best in my opinion. I left them just when my website was soaring with business, I went back to them.

They do not give what they promise

I spent $3000.00 for them to optimize my site and drive customers to my site.. They wanted they promised wonderful sales in 3 months,to optimize 15 products and drive customers to my site with social media.. I wrote my own descriptions because they had no experience with jewelry nor with horses. I do custom equine jewelry. I also had to pay for my own ads. I ran my own ads and wrote my own descriptions. When it got to 3 months it was prior to Christmas season. I did not get the sales they projected. They did not even know how to pull up my product descriptions on my Big Commerce website. They said I should not put my pictures of my jewelry on rocks. Even though my competition did the same and was making millions. They blamed my site which they never mentioned prior mention a problem before. I believe that Mainstreet Host forgot to do anything for me until I demanded that I had done everything. They are a waste of money. They then said I could get better sales if I invested $8000.00 with them and they rebuilt my site from scratch. No Way. They had never mentioned my Bigcommerce site was defective prior to this. The techs and the Salesman Sam Vangilista forgot to work on my website with Big Commerce and got caught with their pants down. Never again.

Don't pay until they complete work!!

Do not pay these people until the work is done. We paid almost $500 for changes that were supposed to be done within a week, and it has been over two weeks. Did I mention when we hired them to build us a website, it took them a year to get the job done? And we paid them in full, up front.

Mainstreethost hurt my business

Was rolling along staying somewhat busy as a home inspector. I could use more customers so took up Main Street on their great deal to boost my business even more. People calling me for inspections actually went down instead of up after having Main Street take over my web site for a year. Now I am trying to figure out what they did to my web site that brought my business calls to almost a virtual standstill. And then - can you believe this! After the contract was over - I received a call from one of the Main Street higher ups - and they offered to fix the problems I was complaining about. i.e. not getting any more calls. They offered to fix my web site for a lot more money.

Scam Artists

Exactly the same thing just happened to me. A woman from NV called me on a local appearing number. I let it go to voice mail. Very polished but staccato speech and I could not understand the woman's name. Fortunately, I checked them out to see the vast number of ripoff reports. I have blocked their local number.

Big time annoyance and scammers

Received a voice message out of the blue from a local number with instructions to call back to MainStreetHost. Message left in a very stacatto speach so very difficult to understand. She couldn't even pronounce the name of my business. Do not call me from personal cell without invitation (yup, I'm on DoNotCall Registry) and then instruct me to phone a call center. They have no business making random calls and not identifying their business name. No one would do business with a company who begins by breaking the law. Here's another hint if you make phone calls for a living: speak slowly and clearly and with great courtesy. Identify yourself before you begin. Make sure a valid reason for the call. Make sure not on DoNotCall Registry. Make sure you know how to pronounce words before making a phone call.

Won't Stop Call Doesn't Honor Do Not Call Registry

These *** keep calling my home and interrupting what I'm doing. They are rude, obnoxious, and could care less whether someone's number is registered with the national do not call registry. They need a taste of their own medicine. *** In talking to their people, they keep saying that they have a right to call any number that is registered as a business. I do business out of my home, so my home time is not to be disturbed. Furthermore, if I'm on a national do not call registry, which I am, then that means don't *** call whether I use a line for business or not. Just because a person has a business line, it doesn't give every other business on the planet the right to jeopardize that business' phone time.

Avoid at all costs - $250k+ in lost sales due to the actions of Main Street Host

Our company owns a large and successful web site selling products and services for a specialized market. At the recommendation of Main Street Host, we installed a new skin on our web site. Since our web site had been live in its current form for many years, we thought it would be good to refresh the interface. The new web site design went live at the beginning of 2016, and our sales immediately dropped by a large percentage. Due to the changes made to our site during the update process, it was not possible to roll back to the old interface. By the end of 2016, we were down over $250,000 in sales. After months of harassing phone calls demanding more money, we served Main Street Host with a cease-and-desist letter, and explained once again that our business relationship was done. It was only at this point that one of their people started making social media posts in our accounts. I quickly revoked access, and sent a second letter stating that they did not have permission to use our accounts, and that we were not liable for any charges related to their activity. We have been working with a new SEO company for some time, and the first several interactions with them involved fixing blatant coding errors -- the type that should have been caught and corrected during the development phase of the new skin. Most of these errors were not evident to the end user, but caused a dramatic decrease in visibility on major search engines. This morning, two years after the web site launch fiasco, and almost a full year since the last contact between our companies, a member of Main Street Host's team contacted us, wanting us to continue doing business with them. It seems the harassment still has not ended.

Billing without consent, lack of transparency

Working with a client to redesign her website. MainStreet Host was on retainer with client for an introductory offer and called to offer her more services. I explained to my client that she might be paying more than she needed and we made sure to tell the sales associate managing her account to provide us with more details before moving forward on billing for further service from them. Instead of e-mailing us a report of what they were charging her for, the MainStreet Host sales associate decided to hound this client without my knowledge and lie about services provided, saying that they would be providing optimized page content-- when I had already showed him and a technical account coordinator content which had already been optimized for web. He decided to bill the client without her consent and has avoided conversations with me, even though I am the one designing the new website and I am the one with access to the hosting. Mainstreet Host billed my client without her consent and failed to provide any background on what they were doing to her nor myself as I was shown to have an active role in the design and implementation of the site. Mainstreet is even now trying to deputize my client against me all in the name of a sale and to provide more services. She isn't biting. I am appalled.

They Misspelled my name on my $500 page on Facebook

They convinced me to create a page on Facebook. It has punctuation mistakes and misspells my name. I told them that and they did nothing to fix it. I have left them messages. Hmmmm. I need to have a hundred words. So I'll advertise my business. I teach Patient Positive Oriented Guitar, Bass and Piano Lessons by Bob Comarow. They wrote Bob Comarow Guitar bass and piano lessons by Bob CAmarow, one place with and one place without commas. Thus, it is embarrassing to me, and actually drives away potential business because they don't have command of the English Language, Spelling, and do not Support their work.

*** like a bathtub ring

At first I was upset and spent way too much time defending their completely fabricated report. The report is self conflicting, makes recommendations from 2003, which are in direct conflict to google recommendations. They are classic fluff and hard sell to ignorance. All you need is vaseline. I actually have come to welcome my customers I lose to these fools. I ALWAYS take them back at an increased rate, and I have to work less to get better results. I have even had customers HOSTED ON GOOGLE (and well indexed) get savaged reports. When the customer is dumb enough to try it, I benefit in the long run anyway.

Mainstreet Host - PROMISES HIGH RATING AND DOES NOT DELIVER

Mainstreethost makes promises they cannot deliver or I should say do not deliver! They tell you everything you want to hear so you pay for services thinking it will grow your business. After my $12,000 investment I received nothing to show for my money after 1 year!, but I did get an "admission from the company that they did mess up completely and that they were so sorry and couldn't do any more for me. Wanting to pull my hair out, where do I go from here? They offered to charge me more money to make it right but couldn't guarantee me any results for 6 months.. I'm thinking seriously? really? PEOPLE DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY...BEWARE! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT DELIVER THE GOODS. Sadly, enough they just do not care either about your business only their own!

Mainstreethost Seo Service Review

Horrible customer service and 0 results. Been with them for going on 5 months now. Can never get ahold of anyone. And I used to be 3rd or 4th for most relevant search terms on Google. Now I'm not ever on the first page at all!! And I'm paying these crooks more money then the company I left. Regret my decision. I would cancel today but as usual can't get ahold of anyone!!

Scam..and very harassing phone calls

These people are very harassing. They even lie and say that they spoke to the owners a few months back and the owners said to call. They try any measure to try to sell there services. I hate when a company lies to me or tries to tell me its free. The website analysis is free because your company qualifies. I asked them how they make there money..there must be a catch. We have been in business for 23 years and free estimates are ok..but this was skeptical. The sales girl Tammy said it was free and we will give you all the information so you can go fix it yourself. WOW...no fees...no charges...well sounds to good to be true...so I googled scam Main street host and bam here it is all the people ripped off....nothing is ever free....I would beware..I told them to stop calling us and remove our number from the call log and maybe they should use there own services to clean up there mess on the internet.

Main Street Host hold people hostage!!!

Please! DO NOT go with this company! I was paying $100 per month and that was to change my name on all of the search engines because I rebranded my company. If I took the time...this is something I could do myself...but, I thought ok...this is worth it...but how long could it take? Not 3 months! I went online to my account and after 3 months of being with them, noticed that I could not see any changes!!! So...I called to cancel right away! The man on the other end of the phone said he would call me back. I thought this was very strange! 2 days later I received a call back and he said that the changes have been made and that if I were to cancel with them, the changes would go back to the way they were before! I was appalled! So...let me get this straight!! The only way that the new rebranded name can stay is if I continue to pay $100 indefinitely? WTF??? Does anyone else see this is criminal? VERY BAD BUSINESS!!!

H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E.

What ever you do, do NOT waste your time or money with Mainstreethost. My sales person over-promised and under delivered. My account rep dropped the ball over and over. Even after I asked to be re-assigned, she contacted me... to renew my hosting contract, nonetheless! While the Wordpress site that I had them build for me was adequate, a site that I built myself with Wix got more traffic and inquiries in a FRACTION of the time. P.S., for all of this horrible customer service, I paid a nice premium price. Save your time. Save your money. Go elsewhere.
