No Title issued

My wife and i went to Haleyville, Al. and walked the factory and ordered our home thru Steve. We gave our deposit and had the home shipped to Pa. The home arrived with no problems and we are still satisfied with the home. The problem we have now, is we are selling the home and were never issued a title after paying the taxes and fees on the home. sucks. We now have hired a lawyer to have the court issue me one and this is going to take time and money that was never supposed to happen. I cannot even prove that i owned the home since new in 2011 except for the fact that i have been paying insurance on it since we purchased it. No bill of sale, no title, but at least we got the home. Sorry about the rest of the people who got totally screwed over, shame on Lil Lodges.

Steve and his wife have been ripping people off for years. I used my inheritance to put down on the home. Steve insisted we put down 23,250.00. Never saw the home at all.

Next we received bankruptcy papers stating Steve and his wife filed chapter 7. I did my research. I called his bank to see if they were legitimate. Bank said of course they are. This wasn't their first bankruptcy.

Thank you for these reviews!

My husband and I drove to Lil Lodges...from Florida, to decide if we should buy one. When we left, they wanted us to give them 36K to start building a unit. They tried to pressure us. We were not impressed with their office space at all. Did not look like a successful business operation. After our visit I started searching online and found these reviews. You all have sparred us great pain and sorrow. I’m so grateful for this website. Why are they allowed to still have a website? If one does not take the time to research before they buy it’s very sad to be scammed!! It’s a shame so many have lost hard earned money. The website should be taken down. Thanks again everyone! KB

Guess I’m lucky

Updated by user Sep 21, 2019
I’m sorry for all the folks who lost money. All it cost us was a wasted day of travel.

Original review Sep 21, 2019
I didn’t know all this trouble existed until today. I saw the nice park model on tv and found it on the computer a few years ago. I called and talked to larry a few times and decided to drive the all day trip to Alabama. It took awhile because the GPS was taking us to an abandoned rough falling down building with no signs etc. it turned out that was it. Had to look for a place to park between all the junk outside. When we got out of the truck I asked for Larry he was about a hundred feet away and when he noticed me walking towards him he took off running and vanished inside a junky office space. I’m a big ol country boy at 605 and 300 lbs. lol. And I guess I was already pissed off because what I was seeing was not worth the trip and aggravation. Anyway, never saw him again. Saw one hull in a dilapidated leaking building. Another finished one outside in a muddy field. We were told about the big deposit required and there was no way I had confidence in these people. Too many red flags. Biggest one was seeing the owner running away when we got there. Even without that the place just didn’t inspire confidence. Just lucky.

Enough should be ENOUGH

I am one of many that has lost money with this scam. Social media can do much harm to these people, and by people I not only plan to shine a light on lil lodges list of scam artist but also the corrupt system that has allowed this to happen three times so far and still refuses to prosecute, while attorneys skim all the funds as they drag out the case that was already resolved to the best it will get resolved months ago.... TIME TO STAND UP AND MAKE SOME NOISE!!!!! everyone that was scammed lets get a list and contact each other and get this out in the light.. Mike 501 424-****

Not a single problem with us

I do not know when all the problems started with this company as my wife and i bought out home from them in 2011. We dealt with Steve and he treated us like valued customers and returned all phone calls and answered all our questions when we had any. Our home was delivered 6 days late because of a tornado that went thru their town just before they were supposed to ship the home and Lil Lodges paid for our motel room as we waited for the home to be delivered. The home is well made and beautiful and we just love it. I am sorry for anyone who was taken advantage of and lost money by this company, but i guess we were lucky for a change. We still will not say anything bad about this company as we had nothing but good dealings with them and Steve.

Lock Them Up !!!!

Both Larry and Steve are certified con men ! Nothing they built were RVIA certified or built to ANSI Codes ! Total scam from the very beginning ! Satisfaction will be seeing them both "LOCKED UP" How can you just take money and not deliver over $1.7 Million dollars worth of cabins ? You don't drive $100K dollar Dodge Vipers and live in 6000 + square foot houses if you know your company is struggling ! Then they just try and go bankrupt to write it all off !!! These two are not the smartest guys in the room! Hopefully our justice system will prevail and put them both in jail for "YEARS" !!!!!!

Horrible!!!

Wired HVAC backwards, double threaded plumbing, windows broken, junction box wired wrong. Late on delivery. Too many problems to list! Just plain terrible.

No RVIA Certification

To all that bought cabins from LiL Lodges. Look at your Certificate of Origin. Its all a fraud. No RVIA sticker. Fake CO. Did anyone get a title to any Cabin they bought ? Total Fraud !!!! Check with RVIA and see if they were a registered manufacturer !!!! Chances of getting a valid title and RVIA sticker is ZERO !!! We have all been defrauded ! Unfortunately they knew what they were doing from the beginning !! Jail is the only thing that should be done to these guys. Forget about getting your money back. Have you ever heard the words "you cant get blood from a stone" Larry is nothing but a lying crook ! Larry is blaming Steve and Steve is blaming Larry !! When *** hits the fan they all scater and blame other people. Why do you think Larry had three Lawyers quit on him? They couldn't handle his BS. Check thing out for yourself and you will find out what i'm saying is true. Good Luck !!

Disappointed and screwed!

What crooks! Didn't stand behind their work. Wrote me a check for half of what they owed me for the repairs and when I said that wouldn't do they stopped payment on the check.

Address to file claim

Does anyone know what the address to file the 410 proof of claim is? The only address listed on the correspondence from the bankruptcy proceedings is Lil Lodges. I know there will be little if any to claim, but I don't want to let that go. Also anyone aware of an attorney that is trying to go after their personal assets? If they are found criminally liable for anything there might be a chance there. So it requires at least one hundred words to submit a post, so I am just filling out noise at this point. One two three four five six seven eight nine ten.

Picture from Drone of the crook house Larry Smith

Well here is a picture from my drone of the Lil' Lodges of Alabama owner Larry Smith's residence he lives in. The person who all owes us a cabin. This looks like a 750K dollar house if I have ever seen one it has to be a least 8,000 square feet. They need to auction this off if we are ever going to see most of our money back. He needs to downsize looks like to me. It must be nice living in that big mansion. That house looks so out of place. It is 6 times bigger than his neighbors. I would guess he is over compensating for his other short comings. Hahaha

The owner of Lil' Lodges of Alabama/ Hounddog property

Posting this again. This is all a public record his nasty mug shot for 5 bad checks and his bankruptcy. After doing some research the person in North Carolina was correct (probably a family member of his) He got locked up in November but he filed Bk in November. The bad checks had to be before that. You would not get locked up if there was money to cover the checks even if your account was froze. Others who lost their deposit like me deserve to see this crook. So many lives he has ruined I am sure this isn't the only thing this buffoon has ever done. There is really no telling he just looks like a shady *** bag. UPDATE: During my research I found out he is a convicted felon that information is correct as well.

Excellent quality and kept their word

Six months ago I drove 8 hours from Illinois to Lil Lodges factory in Alabama. I was shocked by their huge indoor production facility and the quality of their cabins. I was shown many models to various stages of construction. I was able to inspect them and see the attention to detail. I placed an order for a custom cabin for my disabled mother. Per the agreement, I had to put half the money down when I ordered it - this covers for materials. Due to personal changes and increased customer volume, I experienced a breakdown in communication and was promised things that were not entirely correct. Do know that the customer is responsible for blocking the unit and they do deliver the unit but if it is not a pull through spot or remotely open for them to back it up you may need to get a local manufacture home transport company to assist. Despite having some issues with delays for delivery - one excepts that when you are in the construction business (ever built a new house?), I was very impressed with Andrea Butler who quickly returned my calls and emails. She provided good customer service and honored what previous employees had promised even though it may have been incorrect at the time. She also reached and made sure I was satisfied. I am happy with my new cabin. When I inspected it - again very impressed with detail and the quality and craftsmanship. Their builders should be proud of what they do. I have not received any products or money to write this review. I believe that Lil Lodges provides a superior product to other cabins I looked at. Jason Lohmeyer Champaign, IL
