12 years of Harrassment and Racial discrimation as a member Lifetime Berkley Heights

Original review Aug 10, 2023
As an Arab Arab American at the Life Time Berkley Heights, NJ. In many times myself and my family were exposed to pervasive hostile, racial discrimination, name calling and hostilities by their thugs employees. The Current GM Christopher is another thug that orchestrated and supervised all the illegal activities toward my family. I have filled a lawsuit against Lifetime Fitness, Christopher Truffa and the owner of Lifetime Leonard Green & Partners and TPG Capital. This company should be ashamed on how they treat minorities and people alike. I am waiting for my day in court.

Framingham location complaint

Hello, I've been a member for several years now and I want to keep this anonymous at this time. however, I dropped off my son at Saturday to child watch, it took about 15-20 minutes just to check my son in, after doing so I went to the pool area to discover that the acting manager Danielle is sitting at the pool with an older gentleman while being on the clock as per the employees as when I asked one of them if she is supposed to be on shift, they stated yes. This is discouraging to bring myself and my family here and I would like for corporate to take action on this matter and either replace this Manager or take disciplinary action as this is not the type of club we came to love when the previous kids academy Manager was here. Please email me back. Thank you for your help.

Racism, Harassment, target rich folks

Original review Jul 10, 2023
Life Time Fitness is structured to attract rich white folks don't let them lie to you. In Berkley Heights, New Jersey I was harassed for over 12 years because I was Muslims and also Harras and intimidate people of color. Majority of staff are racist bigots' low life GYM rats often try to confuse you and by pushing their supplements using the mantra " we are your friend" The Club is all about digging into your pocket and if you don't shell out they will target you The ex low life GM Paul Russo was sleeping with a 17 years old staff and the current Trainer Like Anderson De ... sleeping with married women. The Current GM is a thug pretend to be a yogi he runs the place like a mobster. If you are not Jewish or Italian they will treat you like *** also they almost deliberately took my daughter's life when she was in their summer camp. These people are mobsters! I have Filled a lawsuit against Lifetime Fitness Berkley Heights and I asked the local prosecutor to open a criminal investigation. stay tuned.

Blake ! Poor Management Mansfield Texas

Blake Manager more like an administrator cant operate the facility well ! Sad ! The 3 people in class by a so called trainer will close a large area whereby paying members cant used the equipments ! Example 8 racks with be used by 3 or less people! 5 opened for use ! Poor very management of men locker room! Most of the time lockers that should be available are personal Blake the lazy manager cannot fix the issue! Empty parking lots with 80% of the lockers not available! 6:00 am in the morning especially Sundays and Mondays morning! Cannot keep good worker at the facility! The ones that work are a blessings ! If the two black workers at Blake Mgr ! The place would close up ! Bringing management for others facilities to show these guys how to perform their jobs is stupid ! Member Started January 31, 2013 ends today ! Also be careful about kids membership for weight training they dont want a family member to train them! pay for one of their trainers lol

Formal complain about Sara {{Redacted}}

Dear Nathan {{Redacted}}, I am writing to file a formal complaint about Sara {{Redacted}}, one of the personal trainers at your gym. I have noticed several instances of unprofessional behavior between her and my husband, John {{Redacted}}, that have made me uncomfortable. For example, they were alone in the Pilates room where he got injured, but nothing was reported. He receives text messages from her outside of working hours. I also find it unprofessional for staff to sit together like a couple at the pool. This isn't the image I believe you want to present for your gym, and it doesn't seem right or honest. Furthermore, I experienced discrimination and prejudice from Sara when she made fun of my accent. I believe that Sara's behavior is inappropriate and should not be tolerated at your gym. I would appreciate it if you could investigate and take the necessary steps to prevent this from happening in the future not only with Sara but with all staff members. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, Brunna {{Redacted}}

Services not rendered

I prepaid 8 private tennis lessons and 13 tennis clinics as a gift, in the amount of $3581.95 on July 5, 2021. The member subsequently put the membership on hold for roughly a year and a half due to the COVID epidemic. Upon re activation of the account (10466****) the member was told that all the tennis prepaid lessons had expired while the tennis/gym membership was on hold. General Manager Cory Hay has been ineffective in any kind of help reinstating lessons. Management at Lifetime Plano states all they can do is email the corporate office adding that it should be resolved as COVID is an extenuating circumstance. Its been almost two months since corporate Lifetime has answered the email from its Plano chain.

Emergency move, they would not let me cancel, harassed me and stole my money

My mother was older with cancer, fell and broke her hip. I was a Lifetime member in NJ. Did NOT cancel my membership when I temporally relocated 1,000 miles away. My stay became longer, I called to cancel after 1 year of paying for and not going, they insisted I do in person or send registered mail, could not have a friend cancel for me. I could not get there!!! Post office requirement, really? Cancelled via my credit card. They fought me for the next nine months attacking me via my credit card, calling me, charging me, harassing me. They ended up stealing another 6 months due to credit card company mismanagement. I loved my membership. But they were loathsome criminals in the end and stole my money using lawyers, What they did was WRONG and the employees they had harassing me knew it.

Customer service complaint

I do not understand why I'm forced to upgrade to a signature membership to play pickleball. I don't need it to play basketball, racquetball, swim etc. This is poor customer relations. If the pickleball courts are full, add more courts, stop giving private lessons during the busiest time of day. Do not force members to upgrade which is really deterring them from playing and reducing LT plan of upgrading the courts. 3 courts is not enough. My membership cost went up 2 times over the last 12 to 18 months. Why? What improvements have I seen with the increase? The economy is affecting everyone. I returned to LT immediately after COVID ended and followed all the extra cleaning rules and reduced classes because of staff. It's been 3yrs now. I just want to play pickleball and not be price gauged. Thank you.

Unfair account charge

I was miss informed about how the account holds work. And sense trying to resolve this directly with the Mansfield location I have been ignored and hung up on. The general manager of the lifetime location will not answer my calls and will not respond to my voice mails. I want my money back for an unfair charge and tacky customer service.

Burr Ridge, IL/complaint

Good morning Im contacting regarding an incident that occurred today at the location above. I was looking forward for a tour. I walked in the location at approximately 0920. Spoke to a woman at the front desk. Unfortunately I was unable to get her name. She was young, wearing white shirt, dark hair. I will start off by saying she was less than kind when I requested a tour. She turned me and my fiancé away without hesitation. She couldve been nice about the situation and she couldve suggested for us to wait a few minutes while she figured out how to get us a tour. All we wanted was a quick tour so we could sign up. The way she looked at us seemed as if we were a bother. Im highly disappointed being this is an elite gym. To top it off it is mt birthday today and I was looking forward to signing up. I will never step foot in a place like this. I felt like I was racially profiled and treated unfairly because of my race. I hope this message serves as a point of improvement for hospitality and customer service at this location.

Very Poor Customer Service

If you have children, specifically pre-teens/teens beware. Staff is very unprofessional in their interactions! Management, there is no upper management to reach a person. You will not get anywhere. Management, including director for Bridgewater Lifetime does not appreciate their customers! Very unprofessional attitude. You cannot escalate a complaint or issue to corporate! Good luck getting past corporate concierge who are under the influence of the local management! Pathetic and criminal. Truly BEWARE!

Bad experience at the southdale Lifetime

You have a beautiful facility at the Southdale Lifetime I enjoy swimming my Lap, exercising And taking a whirlpool and steam bath. The problem I see a certain group Somalian dont follow the rules of your facility. first I see the same group wearing their underwear into the whirlpool. when i was in the steam bath they all talk at high level. Theyre so loud and it hurts my ears plus you want to just enjoy the surrounding. It usually happened in the late evening them they seem to hang out large group in the parking lots and smoke. when there is a large group they leave their 3-4 towels around whirlpool.

Stop using blanket policies that punish good customers

Hopefully the corporate side of the business starts to notice the downward spiral of reviews. I was a member for 4 years and big advocate for both the Folsom and Roseville locations. The gyms, have been trending down with upset employees and trainers that are over worked and under appreciated. I had the pleasure of being there one day when an employee got on the intercom to express grievances, it was exciting to see management run around trying to find the person before more skeletons were revealed. As for me, I had a simple request to pause my account for 30 days to heal up an injury. I was told I could with a signed doctors note. That would be fine but doctors don't mail out signed notes and I was not going to make another appointment with the surgeon to retrieve one in person. This is the blanket policy of Lifetime and no sensibility was used in making an exception at the corporate level or at Folsom. The corporate person I was dealing with over email ghosted when I asked to cancel and the person on chat was encouraging my cancellation because they have their policies. This was the final straw for me after my second rate hike and continued post covid issues. For 4 years straight I raved about this gym to my friends, on social media and even on my business blog. Now because of their greed, mistreatment of employees, "Policies" and rate hikes to existing clients, I'm out!! Let's not forget there is a 30 day delay in processing a cancellation... Sure, signing up takes 10 minutes to take your money, cancelling takes 30 days. KYC Lifetime, you are charging a lot for your gym, treat your customers and employees like you value them.

Price change and mislead by Sales Concierge

I called Lifetime Fitness yesterday on October 18th 4:18 PM and spoke to Andy who I am quite familiar with at Lifetime Fitness, from the previous two times I held a membership. I was looking at the membership options for the Old Orchard location in Skokie, and I was looking at the $99 26 and under membership. We talked for 7 minutes approximately about this specific membership, after I confirmed with him there is no way to reinstate my old rates again. When I confirmed it's a semi-permanent fixture of the membership options, and I specifically asked him if it's going to be $99 for a while longer, and he said yes. We ended the call by me telling him I'll come and sign up for it in person as soon as possible. I show up today, the very next day, and both the Northbrook Location and Old Orchard Locations tell me at the member's desk that all prices went up in the past 24 hours. Not only that, the Northbrook location claims it changed on Saturday, and the Old Orchard location claims it changed on Friday. With all that said, I neither called on Friday nor Saturday. I LITERALLY called yesterday and I have the phone record to prove it. So in what world do you change your prices and you don't even let your member concierge know? I understand the people at the front desk, but the specialists? And in what world is it my fault that it took your company 3-5 days to change the prices and actually update the website so us pedestrians and YOUR SPECIALISTS would know? This is ludicrous. Thanks & best regards, Taim Awad
