Resolved: Warrenty item out of order

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. Received claim number from service center. I took it and broken tools to store and they were exchanged.

1/2 " cordless drill 20 volt and 1/4" cordless impact driver Purchased as a set on 12/28/2020 . Tools were used moderately and the drill completely failed about one month ago. The impact has been giving me problems for about one year. I put battery on impact , pull trigger , let off and work light flashes and have to remove battery to use again.

80v trimmer cuts off after only 2 seconds

I just recently to this location as I bought this house I also purchased this trimmer and other items as well. My problem with trimmer is that it cuts off after 2 seconds of engaging the start lever. Also I noticed when charging the battery after a while it will turn red on the charging cycle. The battery off the charger has two bars of charging time. Can you point me in the right direction. Do I have a faulty battery and charger. Jon

Needing parts

Replacement of wearable parts is hard to get. I have 4 kobalt 40v lawn care items. Won't buy any more. Won't buy anymore kobalt. Trimmer head is broken can't get replacement in a reasonable time. Can't tell me when or if I can get them.

Very upset I have a lot of Kobalt tools and I bought warranty with everything that I bought from my drill to my grinder to my lawnmower to my blower that doesn’t work northerly even sell the kind that

My battery 80 V lithium for my blower just stop charging. I havent had it for a year maybe and its taken care of it is stored in a dry area.

Feed back

Battery not holding enough charge and the weight was too much to hold for higher trimmings. Over all just a little less that what we expected.

10 mill scoket to replace no one an tell me where I can buy one

I need a 10 mill. Deepwell 1/4 in drive to replace one and I can not find any one that can help me. I will not buying any kobalt tools I have nothing else to say and it will not let me move on.

Manual needs to reflect problem with Extencion of rails release part (M), it’s very hard to open!

Part M on the manual needs to be revised! The release of the Extencion for the motor to start is too difficult to open! That is why many customers are returning the lawn mowers! They cant get them to start! The manual dose not advise about its difficulty to extend part M. By fix this problem you can avoid many returns!

Mower not working

The other day my husband took them over out and to cut the grass and the blade turns motor runs but it's not cutting anything and it's a new mower we just got it in last December can you help me please.

The circular saw started smoking put it on my patio and it melted

Lowe's won't accept the return because I can't find the receipt. Just wanted a replacement. I have brought your pole saw, hedgetrimmer and weed trimmer. No problems but I got your circular saw and it started smoking when I was cutting so I put it on my patio and it melted.

Need to exchange a kobalt tool box

I have a med size kobalt tool box and all the drawer sliders are wore out one drawer drops on too the next one everytime you go to open it but ive used it 2 years and its gotta few beats and bangs on it ,so l wonder do l just bring it in for a new one or can l send kobalt a few pictures or the tool box and them send me a new one?And still haven't received anything from Kobalt tools !!!

Complete hassle to return a broken lifetime warranty tool

I have to return 250 pieces of a tool set to get one ratchet that broke.I work as a mechanic so I'm pretty sure a few of the pieces have broken and we're discarded.I just wanted to warranty 1 ratchet.A hassle free warranty is VS

Kobalt drill

Light flashing on kobalt 24v max impact drill. Can sit with battery out for hours, put battery back in and it works, till you let go of trigger, then light flashes and you have to remove and put back in the battery to go again. Sometimes it works like a chem, other times I have to do this all day on the job site.

Warranty issues

I have invested in a full set of cordless Kobalt tools. I can’t jump horses now. Y’all have me over a barrel, I cannot wast another $1200 for a new set of tools!

I purchased a few tools from an Amazon seller because my local Lowes store was out of stock and I needed said tools ASAP! I have proof of purchase, January 12, 2023, but am now having issues with one of the drills from the Amazon store. I have been round and round and round with Lowes/Kobalt and the Amazon seller. The Amazon seller says that their store cannot issue an authorization code for a defective tool. Kobalt says there is no way for them to issue an authorization code for replacement because it was NOT purchased from a Lowes. I am in a perpetual feedback loop! Surely there must be some way to resolve this issue. I just need to have a working drill! It is technically still under warranty, less than a year old, so why cant I even get Kobalt to at least offer me a way to get the tool repaired? The local Lowes that I purchased 5 other cordless tools says it cannot help me eitherNOT WITHOUT THE MAGICAL CODE! I am very stressed out and disappointed by this experience! Can someone fix the glitch in the system? If the Kobalt warranty is only valid if tool is purchased at a Lowes store, then perhaps there should be warnings on Amazon that the warranty is not valid? If this is not resolved, I will be happy to preach from the Amazon platform exactly how limited the Kobalt warranty turns out to be! Furthermore, why does Kobalt allow other vendors to sell their products? Is it just a way to buffer their losses from defective tools? I have poked around online a bitapparently the issue with my drill is more common than I thought, below is one of reviews explaining precisely the same issue I am having with mine, same model # as mentioned in reviews below: I have a Kobalt KDD-5248-03 (**** 066399) drill motor. The battery is fully charged but when I use it, if I let off the trigger, the light blinks and it won't work. I take the battery out and put it back in and it works as long as I keep my finger on the trigger. But every time I let my finger off the trigger, it quits and the light blinks continuacy. What's wrong? User's recommendation: Go with another brand besides Kobalt. It's obvious they care nothing about the customer, only profits.

Parts for a Trimmer KST 1040B-03

The top half of the head on my trimmer was taken off to replace the spools and was lost. I went to lowes to see if they had replacement parts and they did not. I have looked online at Lowes and did not find the whole head assembly. I went to Amazon and same problem. I did find many aftermarket replacement heads but most of them say they do not work for the KST 1040B. I am VERY frustrated and can't even find the part numbers of the head so I can order maybe something off EBay. What is more frustrating is the Kobalt is not supported very well with parts or even part numbers. I purchased the 40v max lawn mover and the blower which are awesome. The lawn trimmer was also great until the head was taken off the wind new cord on the spools and then lost or it got thrown out in the garbage. I tried replacing the head with Shakespeare Ugly Head Hybrid line and blade trimmer head but it does not really fit so I modified it to somewhat fit. Just not as good. BOTTOMLINE: Can you help and give me directions to where I can buy the head assembly? Or at least the part numbers for this model. I do not want to have to buy a Dewalt or some other brand since I have two batteries and they are specific for this trio of tools. Thank you in advance for your help.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. After 2 tries & lengthy conversation with Kobalt's customer service I finally got the situation resolved.

I went to Lowe's on Caroline Street in Atlanta TWICE to exchange a 2 YEAR OLD Kobalt tool. One time they refused to exchange it without a receipt from 2 years ago & the second time I had to get an RN number. Once I called Kobalt's 800 number they got me an RN & I exchanged the tool. So much for hassle free replacement, it doesn't exist

Unfair/deceptive acts

Im trying to exchange a Kobalt tool, item #0672831. I was declined by employees at a Lowes store to do the exchange. Im in need of assistance with doing so, and I would like to bring the inappropriate behavior of your customer service and employees to the attention of the appropriate authorities. No where on the exterior packaging does it state a RECEIPT is required for the 5 year tool/3 year battery, warranty to be honored. It states, limited guarantee Common assertion would be, just that, this tool is guaranteed for 5 years. But this is actually deceptive, misleading, and creates confusion. Would it be normal practice to tear open a box in the middle of the store and read an entire owners manual before making the purchase? Im pretty sure law enforcement would be involved at that point. On 3.11.23 I went to the Lowes store in Buckhannon, WV. I drove 30 miles ONE WAY. To be told, I cant exchange this, you have to contact Kobalt, explain the issue, and they will give you a RA NUMBER, then bring the item and this RA number back to the store, and they could then exchange it. So I drove 30 MILES back home. At this point I have wasted my day off, to drive to a store; to give me wrong information, ON TOP of $30 in wasted fuel- for the wasted trip to the store. On my way home my husband placed the first call. Reference # 424****. He spoke with Carlos who was accusatory and slanderous towards a disabled individual. He insinuated my husband stole the tool or purchased it from a neighbor who was moving for $20. Demanding he has to prove ownership. My husband then asked to speak with his supervisor. He was placed on hold for an extended amount of time until, a female who STATED she was a supervisor answered. Both of these individuals caused mental anguish to my husband to the point of having a panic attack in the comfort of his own home and then expected him to go to the store. For what? To get no where? and have another panic attack, suffer public embarrassment and slander, for . NOTHING?!!! These customer service representatives chose not to help, possibly due to spite? Were they upset my husband became loud and upset on the phone, so they immediately decided to decline assistance. Even after he expressed his personal medical issues. That he was not required to elaborate upon. This was only an attempt for the representative to understand him better, personally. So next, I personally placed another call to the kobalt customer service number. The reference number for that call is #424****. Their first person I spoke with, was also no help, which I was expecting. When I asked to speak to someone in a supervisor position above her, she had to make multiple comments, in short; stating, well they cant do anything for you either without the receipt. I then spoke with Jennifer, who STATED she was a supervisor. (Your company would want to listen to both of these calls.) She immediately decided not to assist me with the issue either. Speaking over top of me while I was speaking and attempting to obtain information. This supervisor disconnected the line on me. She HUNG UP, refusing to transfer me to the complaint department. She refused to tell me why, I as the owner/purchaser of this product could not have access to the RA NUMBER Is this how your representatives are taught to conduct business? Why did NONE of these employees try to assist us any further? Why did this supervisor refuse to allow me to speak to HER supervisor and she said, Im the only one. 1.) I have spent $130 on a tool, that states it is guaranteed; when in fact it is not, because your company is DECEIVING its consumers and refusing to honor said warranty/guarantee thats clearly printed on their products outside packaging. 2.) Drove 60 miles, round trip, causing unnecessary wear and tear on my vehicle 3.) Wasting fuel for this 60 mile round trip. Will I be reimbursed for travel expenses??? 4.) Now, Im out of $30 for the price of the fuel and $130 for the original purchase of the tool. Im now -$160 *$160 of my hard earned money, GONE. Just gone??!! *$160 TAKEN from my family and My entire Saturday also taken away from my family, GONE, WASTED! I believe, it would be fair and appropriate that I be compensated for all of the above; given the fact Kobalt and Lowes was dishonest and deceitful. Why? Because you cant stand behind this tool that has PLASTIC PARTS; and is DEFECTIVE, no matter the normal wear and tear on the product. Its been lightly used since bought. This issue is not the fault of the purchaser or user of the tool. It is fully the fault of a poorly made, defaulty product. Do I need to take my actions further? I have enough time invested now, that it wouldnt be an issue for myself to pursue. I will start with reporting this concern, the company and the manufacturer; to the FTC. Then, an advocate at Americans with Disabilities will be the second contact I make. The appropriate individuals will be aware of the deceiving ways you ARE selling your products and conducting business. And the way a disabled American was treated, and the fact this company refuses to stand behind the warranty/guarantees that are CLEARLY printed on the package.
