Requesting records

I never received a reply as to why I can not select a region on their website when requesting records. This is very poor service.

I'm calling to make a complaint about our doctor

I don't like the way I was treated and for her just to cut me off of my paying medications which are not even paying medications I've. Been proofing and you know stuff like that she takes me off of it? I don't get it. I'm upset and not OK with the situation at all and I am very. I'm thinking and considering. Bring me a lawyer into the situation

Terrible scheduling and sdvise.

After poor treatment and bad advise for a prostate biopsy I spent 4 days in a hospital with septicemia. Thank goodness for my excellent care at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, Ca. My other experience involves hip surgery. At first I was told it would be 6 months for the surgery, then 8 months, now it will be 9 months. I never met the surgeon. I have since changed my health insurance to Sharp Medicare Adventure. In general its very difficult to get appointments and they must be done at a Kaiser facility. I will never join Kaiser again.

Billing

Customer service is good, care not what I expected for the price. I have waited eight hours in the waiting room on a few occasions and the wait time for an appointment was faaaaarrrr too long.

Complaint

You guys are always talking about quality of care and thrive and all of that. But you won't allow visitors after 7PM. What kind of care is that? I went to visit my mom in the hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. I showed up ay 7:20 and the doors were already closed and the sign directed me to the ER department. I spoke to the person in the ER and he said I could call my mom, she could talk to the nurse on her floor who could then notify the ER that it was OK for me to enter. The nurse refused. I was absolutely livid. 7PM is far too early to close visiting hours. Most of us have to work, then get home, fix dinner and deal with other family obligations. We're lucky if we get out the door by 7. Sutter's visiting hours are until 9PM. This is totally unacceptable, especially when the nurse could have let me in and she refused. Kaiser butchered my son for 8 years when he was born with a rare condition, finally sending him to UCSF to get proper care. Later when I had Kaiser through my employer, my dopey doctor misdiagnosed me with kidney cancer. Now I can't even get in to see my mom. You guys continue to live up to your reputation.

It takes too much time to get someone on the line

I'm in the process of completing my IRS report for the year 2021, and I need to get my pharmacy expenses. I cannot get through to anyone over the phone. It is very important that I talk to a live person.

I can’t find words to explain my dissatisfaction…..

Went for a general checkup, saw a Dr. I had never seen before. Didnt seem to be any reasons for concern until I got blindsided by the the letter from the DMV. Evidently the Dr. put in his report that I had slight memory loss, and Kaiser (I am assuming) informed the DMV. I have had to take the written test (no problem) and now have to report to DMV and have an employee go for a ride with me. I have never been in an accident or even gotten a ticket in my 52 years of driving. I will NEVER go to a Kaiser facility again in my life! I am presently searching for a new physician that is outside of a giant corporate healthcare mill.

Very Poor Medical Treatment

Don't go to Kaiser if you care about your health.I have had several very negative experiences at Kaiser. Way too many to list here. This month I have been experiencing fevers that results in pouring sweat and then getting very, very, cold. I have no energy and these episodes happen several times a day. I think I have an infection. I can't sleep at night because of these sweats and pain in my neck and some pain in my ears. Tomorrow I will see yet another doctor who I am sure will do nothing for me. I actually think that they are dangerous to seniors because they deliberately ignore everything you say, leaving one more ill and more depressed. I have never seen anything like this. They want seniors to enroll, however, they have little intention of actually treating them.

Traveling in another state needing lab work.

Trying to find a facility within Kaiser service area was told one was close or in Coos Bay. Found best location to receive service was miles away in Eugene. Also, Kaiser system from one area to another arent linked. Spoke with travel services in Northern California only to find out I needed to talk to Travel Services in Oregon.

Forty-seven days to wait for "authorization" for wheelchair!

Original review Jun 26, 2022
Overall, Kaiser has been good to me until now. I have a degenerative disease, and my primary care and neurologist believe I should have a motorized wheelchair. In addition, I fall frequently and have osteoporosis, meaning a fall could cause me to break a bone, which has already happened. My physicians sent a request for an econsult on June 16, 2022, to Kaiser's Durable Medical Equipment. Unfortunately, I learned I need to wait until August 2, forty-seven days, for an evaluation to see if I am eligible for one. At that time, should I be approved, one can be ordered. Then I have to wait until one is ordered and it has the needed amenities. In the meantime, I risk falling and feel someone should be accountable should that happen, and I break another bone.

Poor treatment at Kaiser, neglecting my health issues

Original review Jan 23, 2022
I have been with Kaiser since about 2007 in that time I have had many primary care doctors and have been treated poorly and have had many of my health issues neglected. MY issues are : heart problems, liver disease, calcified pancreas, hernia, colon problems, bulge in abdomen, distended abdomen, lower back disk problems, asthma, high blood pressure, bladder problems and incontinent, very painful varicocele vein in left testicle, nights sweats for over 4 months, chronic constipation, chronic vein insufficiency that causes edema swelling in feet and lower legs. I have had at least 10 or more primary doctors since I started with Kaiser in 2007. Out of the 10 only 2 were nice and did a good job, but they ended up quitting Kaiser and I don't blame them for leaving. I have has terrible treatment by 2 Urologists in the Urology department at Panorama City, their names were Dr Schwartz and DR Winters. Both of them treated me terrible and talked to me in a very condescending manner, and both refused to consider me for a surgery for the painful varicocele vein in my left private region. I have been treated poorly by many primary doctors, some talked down to me, others would neglect me by not treating the health issues that I asked them to. A few of the doctors would not respond back to my emails or calls, they would let the nurses do it, which shows their lack of concern for their patients. 2 doctors did not respond back to me about my prescriptions and that caused my medications to run out, which was hazardous to my health. The last time I went to the ER at Woodland Hills location for an internal infection, she did blood tests and other tests and an EKG and X-ray of my chest. When she came back she said everything looked good but said there was infection so gave me one shot of some antibiotic and I asked her what's causing my infection, she said I don't know. When I went home, i went to the website to look at my blood tests results and noticed that my blood sugar reading was very elevated, and she failed to tell me that. Just recently I switched to a new primary doctor, his name is Dr Choi. I cancelled one appointment with him because I was sick at home and they don't want to you come in there if you are sick. So I made another appointment with him, had to wait a month for it. So about 8 days before my appointment I went to the Kaiser website to check some things, and then I went to the appointment area, and I was shocked they removed my appointment. Then I called the main number at Kaiser I asked the lady to check my appointment, and she said yes the doctor cancelled my appointment and gave no reason I got very upset as I really needed this appointment I have had night sweats every night for over 4 months and my blood pressure keeps going high then low again, and I really need help for these 2 issues, but Dr Choi does not even care enough to tell me why he cancelled my appointment and did not get me a replacement appointment either. I still don't have an appointment, and I am suffering. Also, just within the last 4 months, I tried to get an appointment with 2 different podiatrists at Kaiser for many ingrown toenails. And I think a couple have fungal infection now which can be dangerous, and the infection can spread to other parts of your body. I waited for the first appointment with Podiatry for about 3 weeks then came to 2 days before the appointment he called in sick, so they cancelled my appointment and did not replace it. Then I made another appointment for Podiatry and a different Kaiser location had to wait 4 weeks for this one then a nurse from that office calls me and leave me a voicemail she was not nice either she had a snippy sarcastic attitude on the phone she said well we don't work on toenails that are infected you can take a picture of them we can look at it, but we really don't work on them. Very rude, and what am I supposed to do now ? Infection from this can spread throughout my body from this and cause sepsis, which can kill me !!! The ER said they won't do anything for my nails either, they told me to go to Podiatry. Kaiser is taking risks with my health and I DO NOT appreciate it. I complained to Member Services twice about this, but nothing ever happens. If you ask me about Kaiser I will tell you, read all that I wrote here about Kaiser then decide if you want to go there. They seem to not want to help me, but yet they keep taking my money and my health insurance from Medicare. The Kaiser location I am talking about is located in Panorama City, CA.
