Cancelled order - still billed - no product received

I canceled an order on August 1. It apparently was shipped on August 5 even though it was cancelled 4 days prior. Supposedly it was delivered on August 9, but I was out of town. When I got home, there was no package there. I filled out a lost order claim form with the only information that I had because I had not received any emails from IT Works. I tried to contact IT Works multiple times but none of their phone numbers work. All their phone numbers go to another scam where they try to sell medic alerts, insurance or some other product. Big rip off. Try some of their phone numbers yourself. They are listed below.

201-991-**** etechlive (or itechline)

Indian man called my work phone. A lot of noise in the background. Caller: I'm calling from tech support to correct your Windows error. Me: Oh, great! (ironically, I had had an error this day) Caller: Can you tell me what is on your screen? Me: What do you mean? Caller: What do you see on your screen? Me: (This where I got suspicious because I didn't understand his question) May I ask who's calling? Caller: I'm calling from "etechlive" (later found out it was itechline, from a google search). Look at the bottom left of your keyboard. Tell me what the second key from the left is. Me: The Windows button. Caller: Press that button and "R" at the same time. Me: (I catch on that its a scam). How do your company and my comany work together. Caller: ...(confused) Me: Can I speak with your manager? Caller: Okay, okay, okay. Just hang up the phone. Me: I want to speak with your manager! Caller: Hand up the phone, Mam. Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Me: (freaked out) What is your name? Caller: Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Hang up the phone! Called internal tech support at work and let them know.

Itechline call - caller ID said Nayak A

Did they change their name, or at least the caller ID because too many complaints online about defrauding clients? Thought I would let people know. And BTW - my original complaint was they burned me $199 on unnecessary service - I had a problem with a Trojan that I ended up solving myself - but before I did so, called the service line for Vipre, the virus protection people, and got them (apparently Vipre outsourced to Itechline - maybe still does). Service was incompetent, and ended up doing more damage than they solved. But the biggest problem was they tried to get $400 more from me to "fix" two computers that had absolutely no problem. Now, 2 1/2 years later, they are still calling me, trying to get me to pop again for their unnecessary and fraudulent service, and will not take me off their list no matter how much I ask or threaten. I boil over every time. Whether Itechline or Nayak A, still a scam.

Phone Intimidation

We received a call asking about printer numbers. The store was really busy so after trying to have the person call back at another time they proceeded to intimidate me by saying they would charge me for a technician they would have to send out if I hung up the phone before giving them the printer number. I read the first number I saw on the printer and then I was able to get off the phone. We just received an invoice for $1000 dollars worth of products we haven't received or even ordered in the first place. HUGE SCAM! THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE SUED AND STOPPED!

Never speak with ITechline

Harassed with multiple phone calls. They state they will not stop calling no matter what. They call from multiple phone lines, so it is impossible to block call. Next step, calling police. I know longer own the computer in question. I am considering changing my number because of the high volume of calls. They are rude, threatening and I can barely understand their heavy India accent. I am afraid they will try to do something to sabotage my phone, as they are very threatening. Do not for any reason get involved with this company.

Harrassment

Do not under any circumstances contact Itechline. After they complete business with you they will hound you for further business. They will attempt to extort money from you. They will goad you into a screaming match and then pretend that you are the one that started it. They will take you for about $200 and yes they will fix your complaint but they will cause others. If you value your money and you value your computer then get a friend that is good with computers to help you out. I repeat: do not under any circumstances contact Itechline. If the world was going to end and you talking to them is the only way to save, then let the world end.

Resolved: Scammed by OnlineTech247.com

Updated by user Jan 14, 2015
Unfortunately I posted this complaint prematurely. The next day I received a call from this company telling me they were having tech difficulties. I apologize to them.

Original review Jan 06, 2015
I was having some sluggish computer issues about 6+ months ago and found OnlineTech247 in a Google search for Microsoft tech support. When I called their # 1-85*-527-****, they said they would inspect my computer, which they did, and let me know what they found. They said my computer and all of my computers were "infected" because my entire NETWORK was infected; they would have to clean all of my computers. To make a long story short, they talked me into purchasing their "LIFETIME Network Support" plan which was almost $800. Since they said I would have unlimited infinite support for all my computers and devices under this plan, I decided it might be worth the cost. Well, today I was having computer issues so I called their number--I have called a number of times previously for tech support with success--and I get a message saying "this number has not been set up to receive calls"! After at least 5 calling attempts, I emailed them and asked them to call me. Well, not only did they not call me, they have not responded to my email after 4 hours. I am now feeling very scammed and unhappy!

I was scammed!!!

I too called Microsoft support (at least that was the # I thought I was calling and it was ITechline. They charged me 99.99 in april of 2014 and then when I called in Oct with my computer slowing down so bad again they transferred me to gotechs247. This is where they told me that my computer had been hacked into and showed me what looked like someone was getting in by the minute. They advised I would have to buy the Micosoft Network Secuirty asap. Went on line with me to amazon to show the cheapest I could get it would be 689.00 but they could put it on for 499.99. Thinking that someone out there was getting all my information, I did it!! When I called back 2 weeks later to tell them I was still having problems the tech said he would work on it and get back to me. I seen him working on my computer but I had to go out. It was taking along time. He called me about 4 hours later when my phone was off. Told me to call him back and that everything was done. I have been calling him for 24 hours now and the 2 #'s I have do not even ring anymore. I am very disappointed in them and I am more disappointed in myself for falling for their scam.

SCAM...all day long!

A year ago, my desktop PC was acting sluggish, so I googled Microsoft support, and the phone number for iTech line was the first number to come up. Stupidly, I assumed I was contacting Microsoft, and let them take possession of my computer. Same story as others have stated..they allegedly found multiple viruses and wanted to charge me $400 to clean up my PC. I declined. Fast forward to today: they call me. 'Phil' who could barely speak English, proceeded to tell me it was time for my annual tune up. I stopped him right there, told him I was aware of this scam. 'Phil' told me to seek psychiatric help. I told him to *** off and never call me again.

Fell for the initial ITechline Scam.

In Feb 2014 I contacted Microsoft regarding a desktop problem and was referred to an 800 #. This # ended up being ITechline whom I was advised was a subcontractor for Microsoft. After having them do some minor repairs to the tune of a $159.99 charge I was back up and running. Forward to August 28,2014. I was called by "Steve" from ITechline and advised that 75% of my files (55K) were corrupt. He insisted that I update my windows 7 to the tune of a one time charge of $309.00 + tax. After asking some questions to which I received NO straight answers, I put my wife on the phone hoping that she could understand what "Steve" was saying. When I got back on the phone, I was advised that "Steve" would terminate all security on my laptop because my Wife was rude and threatened him. I was able to listen in on the entire conversation and NEVER heard her being rude or threatening. "Steve" advised he was cutting the security on both laptops and my the Apple that my wife uses and hung up the phone. I called him back to ask why the termination and he hung up again. I then contacted Microsoft and had all problems corrected within an hour. SCREW ITechline AND "Steve". Had "Steve" been within driving distance, I would have paid him a visit in person to fix the problem.

Scam by onlinetech247

Somehow these guys got the contract to provide phone support for thebrother printer. I had a problem with a Trojan that brother printer could not fix. Via email brother printer tech support said to install brother printer 2014 but it would not install. I phoned, got ITechLine, and they told me they could fix it but it would cost $200. I said I have a BounceBack backup of my hard drive, I’ll just wipe it out and restore from the backup. They said no, it’s a network problem and will affect other computers on my network. So I paid. Next they examined my daughter’s laptop, found error messages, told her she was infected too. But she said no, a company computer. She would talk to her IT group. They later examined the machine and found no problem. Next onlinetech247logged into my laptop. Found a lot of error messages, told me it was infected. Should they charge the same credit card? (Oh, were we not clear? It’s $200 per machine.) I said no this time, would use my BounceBack backup. Later I examined those error messages carefully and saw they were meaningless things, e.g. my printer wasn’t turned on so failed to print. And to this day (4 months later) absolutely no problem with that laptop. onlinetech247 was simply trying to sting me for $1239.98, at least $400 of which was completely unnecessary. Getting back to my main computer – they spent hours, never could install brother printer 2014 and in the meantime complete destroyed my system, to the point where I could not open programs like Microsoft Word and others asked me to re-register. So I did go back to the BounceBack backup and restore from there. So problem A, they were incompetent. Could not fix my machine and instead messed it up in a really big way. $1239.98 for nothing. The thing I cannot forgive, however, was telling me that two laptops were corrupt when they weren’t, telling me my network was corrupt when it wasn’t, and trying to sell me a total of $1239.98 worth of service, at least $400 of which was completely unneeded. Their approach was very much like the furnace or waterproofing companies who try to burn elderly homeowners for thousands of dollars in repairs that they don’t need.

It's a good thing i didn't fall for it!

Today (7/2/14) I sent the following e-mail to the addresses listed as Support and Billing for itechline: Hi Thomas. Thanks so much for calling me today. Last year you helped me fix my severely damaged computer (costing only $100). My computer has been so much better since then! However, I wanted to provide you with a list of the reasons why I think your company and services are a scam: 1. The business is NOT BBB accredited. This is not always the sign of a phony business, but it is something to be aware of. 2. YOU called ME, not the other way around. That’s odd. I was not in need of any service. It was running perfectly fine for me! However, you quickly found so many problems with my computer (e.g. Trojan viruses) that it was now in grave danger. Why did iTechLine call me and find so many harmful files that had been entirely wiped out exactly 1 year ago instead of kindly calling me to check on my satisfaction with their services at any time earlier? 6 months ago? 3 months? How did you happen to call and “discover” all of these files that are harmful to my computer right before the 1 year warranty would expire? 3. Your calls all came from an UNREGISTERED phone number. Why would a business need a restricted number? Also, you gave me a list of numbers that I could use to call you back, but you then had to hang up and call me. Why was this necessary? This is suspicious. 4. I read a complaint online: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/i-techlive-systems-pvt-ltd-fake-company-c705582.html 5. another complaint here: http://itechline.pissedconsumer.com/scam-201401****1399.html 6. And don’t forget this one! http://itechline.pissedconsumer.com/ 7. “Information about iTechLine was first submitted to Scambook on Oct 12, 2011. Since then the page has accumulated 104 consumer complaints. On average users reported $385.32 of damages. Scambook's investigation team reached out to this company a total of 8 times, Scambook Investigators last contacted them on Apr 30, 2013.” http://www.scambook.com/company/view/13014/iTechLine Thomas, I’ll make sure to stop by the next time I make it to 6701 Democracy Blvd Suite 300 in Bethesda MD! Best Regards, --

Tried to rob me $600 for unneeded virus repair work
