2bad pool pumps in 1 1/2 years

I ordered a new pump from you guys. It came my electrician hooked it up. Something was bad in the motor so you sent me another one less than a year and a half later it tried to burn my pool house down. I would like to have a good motor that will run my pool please and thank you.

Booster pump issue

customer rep assisted after I educated her on the topic and lead her to understand the inquiry. She was pleasant and helpful but not technically competent

Complaint With Installation Dept,

Confirmed installation with IR Rep 3 days before due date. Pool was emptied to have available for the installer. Receive numerous messages from IR to have the pool emptied. The day of the installation IR was no show. Contacted IR only to find out my liner was never received. Manager indicated my liner was possibly given to someone else. Manager indicated he would call with new details which he never did. Caller IR only to find out liner may not be receive for another 3 weeks. Now I sit with empty pool in my back yard which could have been avoided if I want some place else.

Employee

I'm 63, worked in the Deer Park store for 4 weeks. They hired me as a salesman due to my 30 years in the business. They started me at 38.5 hours per week, than dropped me 30, than dropped me to 17 due to hiring 16 year Olds and a manager that has zero experience in the business. I can go on but it's worth my keystrokes... Stay Away...no one knows what they are talking about...go to a REAL POOL COMPANY

To share negative experience to other customers..so they can avoid this place

Island Recreational installed my pool. The lies from day 1 just kept going.. Started with the sales boy said everything is inclusive in the package deal.. I payed an additional more than $400 for pump installation and I dont need Pool Permit which I did not listen. Im a HealthCare worker and would not gamble with lives.. When time to apply for permit, Town of Hempstead asked for survey report from the pool Installer.. As usual I called the store numerous times and left messages but no return call.. When I get lucky to speak to someone- they either transfer you to someone the. Hanged up.. or promised to return call which is another lie.. I went Daniel

Dissatisfied customer.. The worst store I dealt with… Staff are fast in selling but ignore and avoid to communicate for issues after the sale.. Avoid this store if you dont want to be left in the dark

Staff are ignoring or avoiding to resolve issues..You can leave numerous messages but will not return calls.. THEY JUST DONT CARE

Defective product & Warranty - call to take them to small claims court

Updated by user Jul 28, 2020
Unit provided as replacement is defective.

Original review Jul 26, 2020
Purchased a Salt Generator System for a 38,000 gallon pool. It is under warranty for 3 years. It stopped working in July 2020. I removed the system and took it to the store for warranty replacement. They told me I needed pictures and video of the unit not working. Fortunately I did that prior to removing the system. Then I was instructed to email the information to their warranty person as he had to approve it. I did that, and then they told me the "Director" had to approve the replacement, but he was not in the office. I was assured that I would get a call back that afternoon or the next morning. No call or response to follow-up emails. A simple exchange was requested as resolution. Most all legitimate businesses conduct exchanges of defective products. A company breaches its purchase agreement/contract when they do not comply with their own warranty terms and conditions of purchase. I urge all consumers to start taking the company to small claims court by filing a simple form online in your area and submitting it to the court. Maybe the legal costs will begin deterring the company from this ridiculous practice.

I received my refund

I did receive my refund. Although I would have rather had the solar cover that I ordered.

Can't reach them, via chat, phone or email!!!

I have been trying to reach them for weeks now. Main phone # says office closed due to virus, gives another number. Call that number, says all reps are busy, leave a message. Left several messages, nobody calls back. Emailed, no response. Tried chat, no response. Very frustrating!!!

Horrible Customer Service - if there is such a thing there.....

Happend Sata Jun 6, 2020 Massapequa, NY Store

Original review Jun 06, 2020
I placed an online order. Got email my order ready for pick up. Went to Massapequa store, gave order info to sales clown. He disappears. After waiting for 15 minutes I ask another sales clown to find out what's happening. He comes back and says they don't have part. I explain when I placed the on-line order two hours ago it showed the store has 137 items in stock, now what? Blank stare. I say "I want to see the store manager". I wait....nothing, no manager. I keep asking each sales clown who comes by that I want to see manager. Still no manager. SOOOOO I yell out loud "I WANT TO SEE A STORE MANAGER". Rotund scruffy beard manager comes up and starts yelling in my face that he is busy, what is your problem? Tell him 1) been waiting waaaaaay too long for someone to resolve my issue and get part 2) been asking for you waaaaay too long 3) WHERE IS MY PART. Rotund clown disappears. I start asking everyone who works there "WHERE IS THE STORE MANAGER"! After almost 25 minutes original sales clown reappears with part. Ask him what took so long he just walks away. This is typical for Island Rec. Obviously they believe that Customer Service means sales clowns just walk around BSing with each other, avoid interacting with customers and if you need more than a yes/no answer its the typical 20 something Millennial attitude. Shop elsewhere. Store of clowns and frustrated wannabe managers.... Peace out :)

Disreputable

I would give them zero stars if possible. It is my opinion that this is a disreputable company and handles customer problems abysmally. I bought a pool heat pump in May from Island recreational in Medford- a pool supply company. It was delivered in June and was dead on arrival. The company sent their technician on July 15 who wrote in his report that the heat pump was non functional and needs replacing. I have been “battling” with the company for 6 plus weeks and I still have a non functioning heat pump. The drag their feet, delay, and make false promises. I have initiated a small claims court lawsuit against them. At this point the pool season is almost over. I’ve went the entire season with a non functioning heat pump and I refuse to have them attempt to fix it. Any repair would not be visible until next June and I think they know that. I want my credit card account credited for the $1085 I spent on the heat pump and they can pick up the garbage as soon as possible. As of September 1st I have not had satisfaction. Stay as far away from this company as possible

Total rip-off

I bought above ground pool from them which they installed with in a week buttress side support popped up off the ground Island rec sent the crew to fix it but i had to empty the pool and lost all the chemicals and salt. And they asked for more sand bricks and what ever they asked for. I provided them took a day off from my work so i can run to home depot and get them the things they ask for. Anyway when i filled the pool same thing occurred I sent them the pictures and the third time they sent a different crew and promised me to pay me the money i spent on the chemicals and water and anything else. By that time it came the winter so I closed the pool with salt and chemicals in it. And sent chris manager all the receipts for refund Still waiting for response and pool has the same problems still and can’t get any response from chris or call back. And they don’t even call me back or get on the phone when they here my name they put me on hols and it goes to voicemail I i sent ao many emails but no response. Now i am going to take my case to consumers affairs. Let see what happens but whoever is thinking to buy pool from them so yourself a favor and buy somewhere else or you will regret like i do
