Recalibration

Was in the hospital and missed a recalibration. Been trying and trying to get ahold of them and can only get ahold of robots. Got a call from someone yesterday and now my number is blocked. If you have to get a breathalyzer go with any company except this one.

Have if trouble with the installation to my truck

My car has been locked out for 2 weeks today. I have tried calling numerous times. Try to go on your site for help for it. Nothing.

Drove car for 1 day had to take it back to calibration. Drove one more day. Car went into lockdown. Been that way for 2 weeks. Drained my battery TWICE!. My phone number is 678-754-****

The company is a complete example of highway robbery (no pun intended). Their sales folks are top-notch at getting you onboard, and make claims and promises that are never fulfilled. Installation is farmed out to external companies, I guess so Intoxacrooks can deny responsibility for bad installations. Their device drains and kills batteries; $75. Don't blow into the device exactly right, another $75. Have a maintenance issue on your vehicle, guess what $75! And if you fulfill all the requirements, they will charge you again for finalizing your "sentence" and then not even report your success to your monitoring authority, If you, like myself, are not a court ordered "client", but rather a "wife ordered" client, they will conveniently forget to tell you about the voluntary discounted charge. IntoxaScamAlot - avoid them like the plague! Be well, and sober, all.

Company robbing and giving false readings to monitoring authority

This company is a nightmare to deal with. Not only have they over charged me. But they have lied and reported false information to monitoring authority. I should have had this device removed a year ago. Unfortunately I have been lied to regarding violations and payments not being received when indeed I have proof payments were received. Every time I have requested removal there excuse is the same. Missed retest. What they lied to me about was being in violation. Missed retest is not in violation if the vehicle is unoccupied. And all retest I have missed! The vehicle was not occupied. I have been targeted and taking advantage of by this manufacture. I have done my paid and I have completed this program. This is not fair and I will be reporting this company to the BBB,FTC

Terrible service

I signed my new lease twice and sent in. They say never got them. Cant ever talk with anyone. It takes countless Hours on the phone and still never gets anywhere. Ive been trying to have the system removed for two months. I have completed every thing needed. Now they tell me no lease has been signed again

This is totally my fault but a flaw in their technology that is costing the consumer way too much for no reason other than profit. My window has a short in it and preferred to have it up even though Ive had a half a light beer. I tried testing my luck to roll it up in time. Most times I make it this time I didnt. Thats fine I knew Id blow over. .033. Heres the problem. After a failed test the machine says next test MUST BE Retaken in 3 minutes. Counts down and I blow over to. Next message reads violation visit service center within in 4 days. No one would take a second test knowing we will fail. Also if that second test is not taken you have refused a test which is an even worse lockout. Thats not good business. My last interaction with them was I refused a test while I was inside work building a boat. Breaks were at the same time. 8am 10am and 1230 and besides I dont drink and drive especially at work and no reason to refuse because they have already been creating lockouts and extra expenses on my end. They didnt accept my dispute there not understanding that at work I no reason in the world to skip a test I was doing really bad at the time check to check because of these programs. I think its a slap in the face to us citizens to have customer service not be of American citizenship and understanding whatsoever in supposed rehabilitation. My first incident happened when an auto pay went through for 300 and I preferred to pay right before calibration at a later date because I needed the money to eat and get to work. Cashapp said contact them and showed the transaction had NOT been finalized. I was able to talk to an American manager this time and they said they would let me know in days if they could send the money back and basically said no. My problem there is for state compliance we have to have our balance payed and calibration done by a date. Whats the difference either way by my Calibration date I would have to had to pay so they let me know they are not willing to work with people no matter what we say even if your device request a test and you are not even in the vehicle. Theres videos on YouTube where the guy has cameras to show just this has been done and they refuse to do the right thing. I think the technology is designed to suck as much money as possible and if my situations seem class action lawsuit worthy contact me I could pitch in small amounts toward our defense but not a lot. Something is wrong here there is another place in town with the absolute opposite customer service. I was referred there but installed the wrong one on accident. They tried to send me to 6 hours round trip so I went with the closest. Scam. Ive done passed my required time and have completed my classes. Stuck with this machine until I pay the balance of class and go to jail nine days or community service. If you wake up in the morning or partied a little and take a test and fail. No one in their right mind is going to take it 3 minutes later. See theyre billing me like Im a *** and basically saying dispute it but you can't dispute until you pay us and the mechanic first for failing. Thats not right Shaunbladenow@***.com

So others are aware

There is no way to talk to a live person. Its all about getting money. I called 4 different Intoxalot phone numbers and could never reach a live person. The website offers only those phone numbers which get you nowhere; no way to reach a live person. Very annoying because I just had a question about an existing acct. Even if I clicked on new customer, everything had to be done online - no chance to ask a human any questions!

Having a problem with calibration dates it's says I have one on June 9 and one on june29.

Just the calibration date. All Fixed now. The service center had no problem getting the issue fixed and is working properly no we.

Brand new battery purchased after installation. Devise continues to drain battery causing lockouts and me having to call neighbor or son to jump start car.

I cannot stand this POS device. As soon as it was installed, it drained my battery. I purchased a brand new battery, replaced it and continue to have the same problem. This has been going on since last August. I am in school full time via Zoom and don't have a job that I must drive to so I do not have to leave my house on a daily basis. I was told from, yet another, unhelpful representative to start the car and sit in it every day so the battery doesn't die. Are you kidding? Since the start of 2023, I was severely sick for 3 weeks and could not leave the house. Then, I had a severe knee injury at the very end of January. I was not supposed to drive. I could barely ambulate. I was on crutches and wearing a humongous brace. Just to top it off, the power steering is out. I did take it in to a Volvo mechanic (it is a 2001) to diagnose the problem because it was dangerous to drive. He couldn't believe I drove it to the shop. I was going to leave it there. I spent $30 to Uber home. He called me an hour after I arrived home to tell me he couldn't work on it because of the device. Most companies will give the mechanic a temporary code to access the vehicle while it is in the shop. NOT INTOXALOCK!!! I begged him and convjnced him to let me come back and I would blow in the stupid thing as needed. Of course that cost ANOTHER $30 to Uber back. Well, the fix didn't last so the power steering went out again a few weeks later. Due to the fact that I have been out of work with NO income since the injury, it is not feasible to take it back to the mechanic. I dealt with a different company years ago and there were NEVER issues!!! This is inexcusable and puts us, the ones that are mandated to have it, at risk of legal issues. I had jumped it 2 days ago and, in less than 24hrs, the battery was dead again. I could not mess around with it because my friend was driving me to an appointment at the eye clinic over 2 hours away. I was able to jump it today and get it started but not without some message that says LOCKOUT VIOLATION 5!!! What does that mean??? I have NEVER failed a test. I have passed 100% of the time. I do not eat or drink prior to or during the operation of the vehicle. I don't even use hand sanitizer. The only issue is the due to the machine and it is putting me in legal jeopardy. I AM SO SICK OF THIS THING!!! I AM GOING TO INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF I AM ALLOWED TO CHANGE TO ANOTHER COMPANY SINCE I HAVE TO HAVE THIS THING FOR 4 MORE MONTHS!!!

Defective device, customer service is useless

We were told we needed to changed out the device to one with a camera. Fine, we complied and did that. Since then, we have had nothing but issues and have a lock out each month. When we call customer service they only recommend an inspection which is only to look at the device and make sure blowing into it starts the vehicle. Even though the problem says its refusals, but he blows in it every damn time. We just got home and got a lockout message. When we called customer service, she said we blew at 559 and not again at 609. We were literally in our house at 609, so why would we blow again? I asked for a report, and she informed me it would cost $25 but only go until 3/21 even though today is 4/25, and she has access to the records. Then she told him need to call back tomorrow to schedule an inspection and that's the only way to get it looked at. Even though we did this last month and the issue is still present. He still has another year and 3 months, and I'll be darned if we are going to deal with this for the next year. We are not only paying more for the device they require, but now additional fees bc of their defective device.

Dishonesty

Absolutely horrible customer service. Dishonest and non-transparent pricing. The amounts I am charged are not the same as the amounts I agreed to on the phone before making this purchase. I tried to contact customer service for literally 1.5 hours and all I got was an automated message telling me how much money I owed them. I emailed customer service and nobody responded. They just took my money and left. This is a deceitful business. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid your company and product. Don't buy anything from them. This business is greedy and takes advantage of others' misfortune. Everyone at this company will be going to *** I'm extremely dissatisfied.

Intoxalock device is defective and the device is dangerous to your health.

Ive reached out to Intoxalock numerous times to no avail. I even asked to speak with a supervisor or manager. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes after weeks of calling I finally am connected to a women who was very demeaning. She gets on the phone and instantly is dismissive of everything I am telling her about my device. I tell her my handset doesnt work and that my vehicle wouldnt start forcing me to have to take a Lyft to my job. The next morning I come out and try again and the handset is in lockout reset but my truck starts so I can go to work but now I have to take it into the calibration center to have the unit reset. I call and tell them there is no reason it should be in lockout and the women tells me it was because my battery wasnt charged yet it starts the next day? If the battery wasnt charged it wouldnt have started the following day at all unless the battery magically charged itself which is impossible. All these actions can easily be seen on the camera that is installed with the device in my truck but she refused to even look any further into anything I reported to her. While this woman continues talking down to me she says she will not remove the lockout fee and that if something is wrong with my device I can take it back to the calibration center and pay over $300 to have them test it and IF it is found to not work they will refund me. I explain to her that it works when it wants to and other times I can press the button numerous times and it will not respond. I can tell in her voice she doesnt care and doesnt believe me as she once again tells me the same thing about having it tested in a very demeaning and dismissive tone. You can see in the videos that the device does not respond and when it comes on it doesnt register when breathing into it. This is not the first time I have had a problem with this company. In 2019 the device reinfected me with strep throat 3 times. Once again they did nothing until I posted medical information online along with proof of having been reinfected with strep throat from their unsanitary device. Only at this time did they reach out and replace the handset with one that looked like it came out of a junk bin asking me to please remove my review which I should have never done. So once again I had to inconvenience myself to drive to the calibration center which is 30 minutes away from me to pick up and install the handset. At this point Ive absolutely had it with the lack of professionalism and how they treat their customers. I have kept records of everything and now I have taken videos of the device so others can see for themselves seeing no one at the company wants to be bothered with actual customer support. This seems to be the only way to get anyones attention at this company. I now have Asthma which requires me to use an inhaler this can be easily proven with my medical records once again which I will be happy to provide once I file a lawsuit. They lie about cleaning the unit when you have it calibrated. All that happens is a solution with a small amount of alcohol and air is blown through to test its ability to properly detect the presence of alcohol in a persons breath. There is absolutely nothing that is done to clean or sanitize the unit. The moisture that accumulates inside the device after breathing into it stays there and is a breeding ground for bacteria. I am sure there is other bacteria but until I find a lab that can test for other contaminants I was only able to buy a black mold test kit from the local hardware shop. I also added the picture of the Petri dish test results for the presence of black mold which tested positive. This is what you are breathing into your lungs. I made a mistake and now Im paying for it with my health. Companies bent over backwards during the pandemic to accommodate the requirements set forth yet this company did absolutely nothing to protect their customers health and safety and still does nothing. When you call to have the device installed or even just to inquire about it youll instantly get someone right away that will hound you to install their device, both through email and by phone. I have kept all email communications from the original install as a lawsuit against this company is long overdue. I have also reached out to numerous news media outlets so as they may run a segment and help get some traction behind this constant issue that they are allowed to get away with, with no repercussions, standards or accountability. The safety and health of Intoxilocks customers means absolutely nothing to them. Once the device is installed if you ever have a problem getting someone to help you is near impossible. Numerous times through their app when Ive had to take my truck in for service Ive made it crystal clear that it was in for service and yet when it goes into lockout I have to spend ridiculous amounts of time on the phone just to get someone to reset the device so I am not charged. This company, their product and their customer service doesnt even rate a 1 star review. I dont expect the company to follow through and at this point this is why a lawsuit is the only way forward. If you have to have one of these devices installed in your vehicle please go with any other company. Although not having experience with other companies they may all be the same. I made a mistake hence why I had to install this device. That mistake does not give them the right to put my health and their other customers health and safety at risk exposing us to dangerous bacteria and mold growing inside the tube of the device. Intoxalock has absolutely no regard for your civil rights just because a person got a DUI or DWI does not give them the right to treat someone like a subhuman piece of trash. With that said I have also reached out to my state's Attorney General's office so they as well can look into this matter. Stay away from this company.

I needed to have an ignition interlock device installed for 180 days and the data from that time sent to Washington state department of licensing

I played guilty to a DUI after blowing a 0.00 as part of a plea agreement offered by Spokane county after being pulled over and drug out of my car through my seatbelt and arrested I received 4 traffic citations and 7 felony/misdemeanor charges. After being denied a phone call for 48 hrs I was taken to court where I was released without bail on my own personal reconnaissance. The police report was written 3 days after my arrest by an officer that responded to a traffic accident approximately 30minutes after I had been placed in cuffs a d read my rights. I chose to invoke my 5th amendment right to stay silent. I hired a lawyer who was recommended by all the other attorneys that I had consultations with. Cost me $5,000 up front to retain his initial services. At my arraignment We were both surprised that the Prosecutor Had dropped all charges except the DUI, i had already represented myself in traffic court where I plead guilty to speeding 70 in a 60 (because I was doing that) not guilty to the other 3 criminal traffic infractions, which were dropped due to the lack of evidence, no mention of them in the report, and the arresting officer recanting his statements and handing my case over to a responding officer from the sheriffs department who then wrote the report (They needed his involvement and camera footage gone to protect themselves from civil rights violations) long story short I traded 7 felonies and 4 misdemeanor traffic violations because I couldnt afford the cost of going to trial. And I was afraid of what could happen if I didnt accept their offer. I got an Intoxilock device as required by court, for 180 days. They changed my BAC from 0.00 to .14 (one point shy of a felony in my state) I had my lawyer file a motion to correct this clerical error which they did. The first two attempts to have the device installed by a local instillation company failed because Intoxilock sent them to the wrong place over 180 miles away. I was charged $3,000 for each device plus 2 no show fees. After literally 26 hours on the phone with my sales rep over the next week I got it installed. It was a nightmare to start my car I had to blow into the device, 1.5 min later a follow up sample, and then another every 15 minutes until I turn off the ignition. I got several lockouts ( $90 a pop) in the first month alone because I didnt know you had to wait three minutes after you turn off your car to make sure it will ask for another sample as of this month I finally got the device removed after being eligible for seven months and never blowing any thing other than 0.00. I was contacted by the DOL and told I was eligible for a removal, I made an appointment through Intoxilock to have it removed, the installation company (car toys) had hacked up the ignition/steering column so bad that my truck wouldnt start for the first time ever. I was told to take it to a mechanic because theyre not responsible for any damage they do during installation. (I always read the fine print) Intoxilock still hasnt reported to my state the data for the last 180 days (Ive been eligible for 7 months) but Intoxilock would always say we cant give the installation company permission to remove it without confirmation from the DOL. the dol would say its the providers responsibility to send them the data and have told me several times that I was dealing with a company that was notorious for hidden fees, service interruption, forcing me to sign contracts in exchange for continued service. Ect. As of today I still havent gotten that data the state requires and Intoxilock just transfers me around until someone hangs up. They closed my account $288 fee, after the removal and are now claiming they cant get that data because the it has to be sent before they close my account long story short I have them thousands of dollars over a 13 month period for nothing Washington state plans on suspending my license next month because the data that only Intoxilock can access was never received. I just have a mind Boggling history of invoices for the last 13 months that I havent even added up yet. Because its like 160+ transactions.
