21 year old battery STILL works fine!

This is my 21 year old u1 size AGM deep cycle battery it has been used in solar lighting projects, trolling motors, and even a power wheels jeep. It has been charged by solar PWM charging as well as conventional chargers. It's stored mostly inside when not in use but is currently powering my Christmas lights on my front gate. This is an exceptional example of longevity but shows what this Interstate battery is made of!

Unhappy with outcome

Original review Sep 21, 2022
I.had my riding lawn mower serviced by local lawn and garden center. The second time I went to use it it wouldn't start. I didn't worry about it at the time because I could use the push. I recently tried to fix the problem and discovered that the battery wouldn't hold a charge. I didn't know interstate battery only had a six month warranty. I never would have thought a new battery would have went bad. And even though the problem happened during warranty period because I waited to long to report it. I suspected the warranty period was.over for full refund but had hoped I'd get some credit toward replacement battery

Warranty Issue

So my wife and I purchased 4 brand new 12v golf cart batteries in April! Just a few weeks ago, the cart wasn't holding a charge! The one terminal/post was completely loose and bent! They will not warranty the battery bc they are saying it is our fault, bad installation, overcharging blah blah blah! No, it wasn't, or it would not have worked for 5 months! They are refusing to cover the battery! So we pay 1k for 4 batteries and now another $250, and they are trying to void the 1 tear warranty! DO NOT BUY INTERSTATE! THEY SUCK AND THEY DO NOT HAVE A WARRANTY

IBad practices

Went to location on 63rd & Ward yesterday. To replace my battery, which was warrantied as full replacement for 30 months, then a certain % of srp extending out to 6 years. The kid behind the counter said "we are a franchised store so you'll have to take it to where you purchased it from". That was incorrect. Went back today, got my new battery and according to the terms of original purchase I was to receive 25% off next purchase, new battery cost $190. I asked if they have a military discount and was told yes. After buying the new battery I was told I was saving $47. Driving away, the math didn't add up so I went back. The kid told me I didn't get the military discount because they can't combine offers. First of all, the 25% is not a discount, it is the execution of a warranty, a partial repayment because the battery I originally bought was suppose to last 6 yrs, and it didn't. Second, by not giving me the military discount you're saying "thank you for your service, as long as you're not claiming a warranty". If it wasn't for people like me, you'd be saying discount batteries in russain, or mandarin. I have two words for you. No class. I will get my batteries elsewhere in the future.

The worst batteries I ever bought

Went to a dealer, left my unit to have the batteries replaced. Paid, it took way longer than quoted. They never worked properly from day 1. Service guy said it was my fault. Stay away

Unhappy and feeling cheated

The location of my problem store was First Street, Albuquerque, New. Mexico.

Original review May 14, 2022
I seen a family in need of a jump start, and I was just a few blocks from Interstate battery on First street, in Albuquerque, NM. I decided to purchase a set of cables to help them and had the choice of NAPA or Interstate battery. I chose Interstate battery, thinking that they would be fair, but when I asked about cables, they said they would cost $200 for a set. I told them they were crazy and started to leave, and they said oh, wait, we dont have the two hundred dollar set, we only the one hundred dollar set. I told them that was still overpriced but the family was waiting for me in high temperatures. So I purchased the cables for $100, but could have got the same quality of cables for $20 had I gone to NAPA. They can blame COVID but I think it is nothing but greed.

False Advertising

This is not a question, but rather a complaint. I have used Interstate Batteries for many years and have always been very satisfied with your products. Today, however, is a different story! I needed a new battery for my lawn tractor, and went on line and found the Interstate SP-40. It looked like the perfect battery for my needs and saw that there was one in stock at Interstate All Battery Center of Omaha, 920 S. 72nd St. Omaha, NE 68114. It showed a price of $64.95. I immediately drove over there to purchase one. When the gentleman was ringing it up, he said that the price was $87.99 plus tax. I told him that the price shown online was $64.95. He said that $64.95 was the average price in the U.S. and the price in Omaha is $87.99. This looks to me to be absolute false advertising! Needless to say, I left the store without the battery and will not be making any future purchases from Interstate Batteries.

Don’t stand behind product

No service wont stand behind product or answer question, employees opinion over customers. Thought I was buying a product that they would stand behind, but was wrong. Not the service I expected cloud have paid less and received better service. Wish I had received better customer service. Dont think they care about customers needs.

Warranty rejected on battery less than year old!

Had an interstate battery less than a year old wouldn't hold charge. Decided to take to their shop to have checked, but a snow storm hit and kept us from getting out. When we took it there, they said it froze because it wasn't charged. That was the whole problem, wouldn't stay charged. So now they say warranty is void because of this freezing I will never buy one again , after being a customer for over 40 years!

Dissatisfied battery not hooked up right

Had a new battery installed in my Cadillac XT5. After installation, I noticed my check engine light was on and the auto shutoff wasn't working. I took the car immediately back to Interstate Battery. After questioning the technician, who installed the battery, that something wasnt right. The technician suggested I reprogram my car by reading the manual. He said it was the correct battery and it was installed right. He NEVER looked to see if the battery was totally hooked up right. I called Cadillac and they had never heard of such a thing! I took it to the dealer and they found a wire had not been hooked up.

Is of the worst batteries ever purchased.

First two batteries had to be replaced, third replacement just went bad a little after three years. Didnt even bother with the warranty, not worth it and didnt want another Interstate battery.

Warrantee replacement

Battery will not hold a charge and all professional battery test machines say that battery is bad. I had to drive an hour and 1/2 to a distribution center just to be able to wait another 48 hours so that interstate could try to charge a bad battery to determine whether or not they could test my battery to see if it is bad.
