Sick Kitten

First off where do I begin with this breeder. We purchased a kitten from Ryan's cattery as a gift for my girlfriends father. Here is where all the problems begin. First Ryan had mutually agreed to meet my girlfriend and her father in Waco to pick up the kitten may I reiterate mutually agreed. On the day they went to pick him up at the scheduled place and time Ryan texted saying he was running behind because he "overslept". During this text exchange he even went as far as to ask my girlfriend and her dad to drive another hour and a half to College Station where he lives to pick up the kitten. He ended up making it to Waco two hours after the initial pick up time. When my girlfriend and her dad received the kitten they noticed that he smelled of cat urine and had some upper respiratory issues. Charlie(the kitten) was taken to the vet the following day where he was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and had to be treated for ear mites as well. After he was treated Charlie lived with my girlfriends father for 9 months before a change in living arrangement caused Charlie to come live with me and my girlfriend. After being with us for two weeks we noticed Charlie was getting really sick. We took him to a vet on Sunday October 21st. It was here that the doctor diagnosed Charlie with FIP and unfortunately we had to make the choice that was right for him. My girlfriend texted Ryan to inform him of Charlie passing and to basically inform him of all we had to do after receiving the kitten from him and he basically responded back with "that he would ignore the personal attacks" and gave us some spill about his replacement policy. To anybody out there looking to purchase a ragdoll kitten please make sure to do your homework on the breeder because no one should have to go through what we went through.

Sold me a sick kitten

Sold me a sick kitten. Day 1 at delivery the kitten was sneezing, breeder said it just had a cold and is no big deal. You could say *** me I should have walked away, but he already had my money paid in advance to reserve the kitten, and I was never told I would be picking from online pictures of his sick kittens. Well that cold never went away, vet treated several times and finally said the kitten had "chronic snuffles". Breeder says he wants it back if you don't want to keep kitten, well he didn't want this one back. At first the breeder said he would provide a healthy replacement kitten, but then he started to sound mad/annoyed that I wasn't happy with my $850 sick kitten purchase and so he quit responding to all communications. So in the end I was ripped off $850 for a kitten that was sold sick with a chronic condition.

Do not 100% trust these negative reviews about adopting ragdolls from Chocolatta ragdolls

I had the pleasure to adopt a seal point ragdoll from Ryan Fuller. I was previously nervous at first from all these negative reviews that are plastered on this site but took the leap of faith and purchased a beautiful kitten from him. I kept a strict eye on him to ensure that he does not have FIP (some cat breeders sell cats with FIP and are not aware of it. Currently, there is no way to detect it. The cat would have to grow old enough for the symptoms to show). The cat is over a year old now, and has no health conditions that the other reviewers experienced with their cats. He is fluffy, slightly on the heavy side and loves to play. Shy around strangers but the pros outweigh the cons. Mine came with a health guarantee and I paid full price so I do not know if there is a relationship to his health. Whether Ryan is rude, mean or what not is not important to me as long as the cat is healthy, adorable and softens our mood from a long day. I did not experience any issues with the owner transporting the cat to me, and he is very thorough about cat care if you ask. Overall, I had a good experience. I simply decided to chime in from the unfair negative reviews being thrown at the cat breeder, and I am not in any way pressurized to write this review. If in doubt, always schedule a visit with him, and if he refuses, save your money and go elsewhere.

Always talk with several breeders before purchasing a kitten!

I have owned Ragdoll cats for over 22 years. I have only had one bad experience with a breeder. The breeder this lady was referring to has had a horrible reputation in Texas for many years. My advice before ever giving any funds to a breeder is to check them out thoroughly. There are so many excellent breeders to choose! Check to see how many years they have been breeding, seeing if they show their cats (many times you will find cats with better temperments from these breeders), make sure there is NO inner breeding in their cattery, check the catteries they have purchased their breeders and last but far from least make sure they DNA all of their breeders. A DNA'd breeder will show whether there are any certain diseases. Ask to see the DNA results on the Dam and Sire on any kitten you purchase. Do not purchase a kitten that is spay/neutered too young. Talk with a local Vet regarding spay/neuter ages. Good Luck!

I WANT A RAGDOLL REVIEW

I also had purchased my sweet little ragdoll from Ryan too. He has a list of beautiful ragdolls on his website on a monthly basis. I personally did not have a negative experience with the breeder, although the ragdoll did appear to be shy to strangers which makes me think that the ragdoll may not have been socialized well enough. He is a beautiful, healthy ragdoll regardless, and while he may not follow the typical ragdoll behavior, he is a lovable furball. I did notice that he has had diarheaa every 2 days from the day I got him, and I did not take it seriously. However, it did get worse a few months ago that I had to take him to the vet. Thanks to my pet insurance, I was able to protect myself from the crazy pet bills. The diagnosis is still ongoing. Whether that may have been from his old environment or some sort of allergy are yet to be identified as a factor for his ongoing case. Otherwise, he is a healthy cat, weighs about 11 lbs and loves food and to play. Would I recommend this breeder for cat adoption? If you like a beautiful ragdoll to care for and want a huge selection to choose from, he would be the one to contact. If you'd like a socialized ragdoll, unless you are willing to settle for a kitten, I would look elsewhere. Health is never guaranteed from any breeder as you are buying a cat that has lived in a multi cat household, and there could be risks associated with it. I am unsure as to why he has a chronic diarheaa and I do rarely switch foods and they are the most expensive kind (Currently I am giving him z/d sensitive prescription diet) and it is not working too well.

I Want A Ragdoll - Cat Review from Long Beach, California

I have purchased 2 cats from this breeder due to the shock of how they are treated. The house reeked of urine, the litter boxes were full and there were so many kittens running around in this terrible atmosphere that Iwas shocked.I went for one kitten and ended up getting his litter mate too. Unfortunately, the litter mate had a weeping eye that I was told was a tear duct problem that was confirmed by his vet. The vet I went to said he was ill, but couldn't figure it out. He began declining and not gaining weight and eventually shortly passed away...I was heart broken. The pictures of the kittens are beautiful, but this is certainly a kitten mill. I'm glad to have my cat but I certainly feel sorry for the others...

Chocolatta Dolls (I want a ragdoll.com)

This person will change the name of his business to fool people, calling it Collector Palms or something else, the owner is a Ragdoll Cat breeder trying to avoid bad reviews online. Chocolatta Dolls is www.iwantaragdoll.com and was horrible to work with. The owner, Ryan Fuller, is exceptionally difficult to deal with, his communication skills need some serious help. If you enjoy being yelled at, berated, and hung up on, you'll love any conflict resolution he might employ with your transaction. He's fine before you give him your money, then he's a loses all rational ability he may have had. I paid in full for a cat to hold in time for Christmas. Turns out he didn't have the color of kitten I wanted that would be ready for Christmas (2015), within 24 hours of me paying for the cat I simply asked for a refund to my credit card, to which his reply was "you'll never get a penny back" and hung up on me. The guy refused to give me my money back and blocked my phone number and wouldn't communicate with me any further. Who takes $850 and and says 'sorry, I'm not talking to you anymore?' Who does this? I had to challenge the charge with my bank and Paypal just to get this guy to talk with me, because thankfully, they froze his funds. After threatening to call the police and press charges for a felony misdemeanor for taking $850, did he finally call me to discuss it any further. To thwart his irrational behavior I opted deal with him to pick a cat that would be ready in January instead, as he felt I wasn't giving him a fair shake. I said, I was okay with waiting for the cat in January and the deal was back on. So no kitty for Christmas like I was paying for but I'll make do. Fast forward a month and half after the transaction, he fails to communicate with the bank who is now opted to refund my money because shockingly, he doesn't answer any phone calls from the bank asking for his side of the story, they returned my money just days before I'm to pick up my kitten. I tell him, I still want the cat, I'll pay for the cat, he agrees to meet me on 1/3/16 as we had planned. That day comes and I get an email from him saying he's now going to just refund all my money and opt not to give me any kittens. I call him and I text him, NO RESPONSE. I'm in utter shock how this guy has treated us. I tried desperately to work with him, even though I despised how he treated me, even being nice to him, when believe me, he didn't deserve even that much considering how he treated me from day one. In the end I'm getting all my money back, but the stress, the difficulty and the sheer amount of BS he will put you through is not WORTH it for one second. I'll never get all those hours of my life back. He is UNPROFESSIONAL beyond reason. My 6 year old daughter is heartbroken because of this guy. She didn't get the kitten for Christmas nor did she get it when I told her we would be able to pick it up. I did manage to find another breeder, one who's professional. After talking with her on the phone I told her I was just dealing with a breeder who dropped the ball on us, and was exceptionally awful to deal with, she asked me who it was, all I said was "a guy in College Station" to which she immediately chimed, is it "Ryan Fuller?" Unbelievable. This woman knew who he was before I even said it. She had plenty of similar stories of clients coming to her after being screwed by this guy. It's sad. Really sad. People need to speak up and review unethical people like this. Don't let them do it to another person. Do not buy a kitten from this guy. Do your homework before you buy from a breeder like this. Within hours of him opting out of delivering my cat that I paid him $850 for, he decided to list it for sale again on his website for $400 more. He's morally bankrupt. If you express interest in a particular colored cat, he'll up the price on you, just like that. He did it to me, with the 2nd cat I wanted to buy, and then relisted online for more money after I bought it.
