Hoovers Hatchery Reviews
Debbie
First chicks died 4 days after they arrived, within days the rest died. The turkey would chirp constantly and walk in circles looking up.

I will never get my chicks from a mail company ever again.
Original review May 31, 2023
All the chicks and turkey had eggshell umbilical cord still attached. Reviving them did not work. It's sad that babies are put in the mail and shipped at this point. Something that really needs changed. The chicks were shipped during a cold snap and they did not recover.

Poor chick health
Our local farm store sold Hoover's birds this spring. I was hesitant to buy, because another farm store in the area stated that all of their birds arrived dead with no heat packs from Hoover, but it was convenient. I've lost half of the guinea's that I bought (the farm store exchanged for live birds and said that the guinea's arrived "fragile"). I bought 5 salmon favorelle "pullets", and 3 are roosters.

Horrible Customer service, chicks poor health
Chicks arrived very lethargic and not well, we have lost 6 chicks within 24 hours. I have been raising chicks for 26 years, first time I have ever dealt with this. Zero customer service, cant reach anyone by phone and no answer to emails

See if delivering
Would be nice if you could get hold of company youre delivering to so that they can tell consumers wanting chick and waited two hours to find out that you probably wouldnt be delivering! I know bad weather but only one employee told me at 1:00pm that you not here probably wont be, thats when I left

Loss of chicks
I'll never order through tractor supply online site again an I will never order live birds from your hatchery again I will get the rest of dead chicks pics from my husband and file a formal complaint I have spent to much money on your chicks just to die or dead on arrival an they continue to die an yes I stay with 24/7 for the first few days an y'all chicks are the only ones dying coming out deformed I'll get letters from everyone this year sucked for your chickens I'm very sorry about that but I'm not paying for it Every single chick I hatch goes through the same process and I am yet to lose more than 3 out of 800 I have been doing this for my whole life and I believe that you are over breeding with a bad stock of parents not one of the chicks I have ordered have even been the breed I ordered they were mix breed or barnyard mix in which I would have enjoyed them and you are sending way to many roosters in the unsexed so Yeah I am not happy

Quail Chicks I ordered
I ordered 30 quail chicks from this hatchery on February 16th, 2022. I was expecting the chicks on the 23 (they were due to ship the 22nd) and instead, were told they would arrive in February 24th (it would take 2 days to ship them). Today is the 24th- and have been waiting all morning to get the call that the chicks arrived at the post office. Never got the call. Called the hatchery to get the tracking number, and it stated that the chicks weren't due to arrive until the 28th! REALLY!? Someone screwed up that order, bad. Called back the hatchery, and they did reimburse the money- but I feel so bad for those chicks-they never had a chance. I was so disappointed in the hatchery, as well as the post office. I will never deal with this hatchery again.

Chicks ordered died
I ordered 10 Light Brahma chicks from Tractor Supply online. They got theses chicks from Hoover Hatchery. All you read about are the good things @ Hoover Hatchery. Now for the bad. They sent out 11 tiny chicks in a little box with holes. The poor 11th chick was supposed to be a heater. This was a very cold and windy day. Their only protection was little pad on the floor of the box and some straw. I got the call from the PO and got dressed and hurried over. I was handed the chicks and put the box under my coat to shield them from the wind. Upon arrival at home I opened the bo. One chick was already dead. The straw was all green and the mat was cold. I ad the worst time of my life the next 2 days as chicks were wretching and dying, They could not stand, eat, or drink. They sent these chicks regular mail. Perhaps if they sent them 1st class? They refunded me $10. I got 2 chicks that lived. I paid $50.Never Again. Morrison's sends their chicks 1st class and hold them up to 3 days so they are very lively! I paid through PayPal so now my battle begins. Who thinks I should get a refund? By the way the 2 chicks I have left still have pasty butt and are on probiotics! In this day and age even a chick matters! I really think I should be reimbursed in total for heart ache but will settle for $29.99 more. Thanks for reading.
