Scam, door to door with scam pitch.

Irritating door to door scam.

Scam!

One of their employees "Claudia AF" posted a "job" on a local FB page that was obviously scammy and I called her out. "Full time pay for part time work" is what she stated. After I called her out, I was blocked by her, which is fine, but then she started staking me on other social media platforms (LinkedIn). Is this what you want representing your company? You already have terrible reviews of your salespeople knocking on people's doors at 9:15 pm when they are trying to get their children in bed, and being pressured and harassed.

SIding and Window repair

HomeFix put siding on my home in Manassas,Va. several years ago and a vinyl trim package. They did a great job and even repaired a part of an old chimney before installing the siding. The vinyl wrap on one window tore apart and I called the company and left my address, name and number. I came home and found the repair "Done by LG" with a note on my door. I appreciate that the company in our local branch provided me with great customer service. I had a good experience with this company and so did my neighbor I referred.

Homefix does not sub the work out

I know for a fact Homefix does not sub their work out. They provide a triple platinum lifetime warranty good for 50 years and transferable when the house changes owners.

Home fix and Custom remodeling (HCR) “run and I do mean run” this is not the company to do your roof

we signed a contract for Timberline High Definition (HD)Shingles on our roof during the installation, We found the material used was American Harvest Two months ago my wife and I first timers in roof replacement. Started researching companies that performed new roof installation. We chose a company called HCR, during the time the sales rep was in our home we covered a lot of different areas of our needs and what HCR could provide. The most important thing I wanted to hear was "support services when it comes to correcting and issues with the product" The response was we back our product 100% parts and labor. Once the contract was generated the sale rep went into a full court press mode that we had never seen before. It was like now let's get this contract signed so we can get your house back in order. As we said to the sales representative slow down we still need to re-read the contract to make sure we have everything we ask for on the paper, and we want time to think about what we are about to sign. Finally after 20mins of back and forth the HCR sales representative left the paperwork for me and my wife to go over later. The next day we decided to call their headquarters and cancelled the contract. A short time later we received a call for the Quality Assurance manager asking us why we decided to cancel the contract. We explained to the Quality Assurance manager that we cancelled the contract because we felt pressured and needed more time to think about what we are doing. No matter what we said the manager had a comeback. So we agreed to the terms of the contract "5 Tab Shingle Timberland High Definition "HD"" with the "MACK Daddy Tipple Platinum Warranty. On August 7, 2019 the roof was scheduled to be replaced. At 9:00am the next day the workers arrived at our house. The only problem with that day was the occasional rain. The day started out a little cloudy, however the news had predicted a storm with some rain for that day and the next day. The men got on the roof and started to remove shingles. At approximately 1:30pm it began to rain very hard. The men worked to cover as much of the roof as possible but could not cover all of the areas on the roof so some parts of the roof did get wet. As my wife stood there watching, one of the men came to the door and asked if she saw any leaks coming through to the inside. She stated so far no leaks, once the rain stop the HCR roofers continued their work, around 7"00pm the HCR roofers called it a day and state they would be back tomorrow. The strangest thing though "Being it had started raining prior to their completion of putting the shingles on the roof I would have thought the workers would wait until the roof dried", well I was wrong when the rain stopped they started with no concern about the status of the wet roof. Around 3:00pm I finally made it home from work, I talked with my wife and ask her how everything was going. She said so far ok, but she had concerns about the shingles being laid on a wet roof. Her next question to me was if I was sure the shingles being laid is the correct shingle? I said to her I think so it's supposed to be Timberline High Definition shingle, she looked at me and said the shingles did not look like a High Definition shingle. We went inside and pulled out our contract and right on the contract in big bold letters it said Timberline High Definition shingle. I ask installer and he assured me that the shingle they put on the roof was Timberline High Definition shingle. What we found out later was the shingles placed on our roof was not Timberline High Definition shingle, the shingle being used was called "American Harvest" Standard. I made a call the Home Fix Custom Remodeling (HCR) to report the issue of finding the material we signed a contract for Timberline High Definition (HD) was not used on our roof during the installation, the material used was American Harvest Standard Shingles and this was a Major Issue!! Being our contract says Timberline High Definition Shingles, and we was charged for High Definition Shingles and did not get the specified material defined in our contract. Your Desired Resolution: Dear HCR on the day of the installation of the roof at my home in Pennsylvania a lot of mistakes was made and I would like these issues resolve as soon as possible. See comments below; On the day of installation it rained most of the day on and off however instead of your workers waiting until the uncovered plywood dried they continued installing the shingles on a wet surface. I'm pretty sure certified installers understand this is not normal practice, and the installation should have been cancelled for that day. On other areas of the roof I witness the installers apply shingles without applying felt to the surface of the roof. On that same day I ask your lead installer why no felt paper was being used, he had no answer for my question, however I was able to find the answer to my question of why you should use felt paper. These are my concerns and I wish action be taken as soon as possible based on the Purchase Warranty: Triple Platinum Lifetime Warranty. I hope we can make all of these correction soon, again we cannot began to tell you how cheated and taken advantage of we feel. We paid and trusted someone to repair our house, somethings we knew nothing about and we got lied to. As of today Homefix Custom Remodeling has admitted to the mistakes made to our roof and sent out their Lead installer, and the GAF inspector, to verify the bad workmanship when it came installing of our roof, the GAF inspected was sent out to determine if the issue was with the installation or the material. His findings was that the installation was done badly. On top of everything else we was sold a Triple Platinum Lifetime Warranty and they are not even fulfill the obligation in the warranty. We are now fileing complaints to BBB and from there we will work the legal aspect of our case if we do not get a resolution.

INFERIOR WORKMAN SHIP

On June 7, 2019 I signed a contract to have a new roof and gutters installed on my home. I was told by the sales rep. that the new gutters were compatible with my existing GUTTER GUARDS!!! WELL I had to replace my GUTTER GUARDS because all the gutters did was LEAK. I had contacted HomeFix on numerous occasions regarding the problem and they would send out someone who tried to solve the leaking problems, which didn't happen. There were a number of screws and nails in the GUTTER GUARD which caused the leaks!!! I would never use this company again for ANYTHING, customer service is horrible everything things was such SHOTTY work. SOO DISAPPOINTED.

Resolved: Paid the cancellation fee

Homefix contacted me and resolved my issue. Thanks Homefix, customer service is definitely a high priority.

Original review Jul 25, 2019
My experience is the same as everyone else’s on here. That’s a bad trend. We were given a presentation along with a walkthrough inspection of our roof. After he wrote down a ridiculous high ball estimate he knew we wouldn’t take he scribbled a lower high ball estimate he said was only good for right then and there. It’s still 10000 more than what a local company would charge. We accepted the offer. After a few days we received some high hospital bills for our new baby and realized we couldn’t afford to do both. We asked to postpone the project for a few years when we spoke to rep but he said there was only a 3 day window and we would have to pay 25% to cancel. We were one day after. Customer service offered a couple of refinancing options but ultimately we were forced to pay the fee and pay them not to replace the roof. So for the quarter of the amount they don’t get our future business and we will not recommend them.

Shady sales tactic

They tried to pull the exact same con game on me as in many of the other reviews on this site: Before the visit, they promised a one year lock-in on the quote, but once they were here, the good price was good for only 3 days. The representative claimed to be some sort of "Director of Marketing", but his business card said Account Associate and the email address on it was just the general customer info one. The quote had two prices, one 40% lower than the other, and for the low one all I had to do was sign right now (with 3 days of time to back out) and do a few testimonials for them. There's no way my testimonial is worth $10,000 to anyone; even my dog doesn't like me. The quote had monthly payments on it, but he couldn't give me any concrete information about their financing deals directly, instead trying to get me to waste half an hour on the phone with the "Director of Finance." It was supposed to take 30-45 minutes but I finally got him out the door in an hour and a half. I'm sure it would have been over two hours if I had talked to the "Director of Finance." Whenever anyone tries to run the two price con on you, run away as quickly as possible.

We are very happy we choose HomeFix

We had Ben come to our home and he sold us, as the project was complete the Project Manager Jim McMillian, was awesome. I had 2 screens cut from the roof getting done and Jim was all over it. I appreciate his concern and professionalism. Great job to everyone, Marianne Powers

Non-existent customer service/communication

My personal experience with this company went south right after the contract was signed. Install didn't start until 3 months later. There were many cancelled deliveries/install dates. I talked to Andy several times and stated my dissatisfactions with the lack of communication from the company. I had to chase these people around to get information. I was offered a "discount" in lie of posting positive reviews and displaying a sign on my front yard. After, a couple of emails and calls they told me I no longer need to write the reviews. I could never, in good conscience recommend this company for services to neighbors, family or friends. The contractors the company hires to do the jobs are good at what they do, but don't clean up the trash or remaining material from the job site until the job is completed. My neighbor sent me pictures of my home to show material left on my roof, there were pieces of trash and material scattered all over my property as well. I am a reasonable person and I understand that while some of the delays were weather related and therefore out of anyone's control. The rest baffles me. Also, they will tell you they "specially train" their installers. The truth is, they sub the work out to smaller companies. I have nothing, but respect for the gentleman who installed the siding. Apart, from the disarray left during the install. He and his crew, cleaned up everything once the job was finished.

Replace roof

my husband and I had them to come out and give us an estimate of our roof and we told the guy that we was gonna get another estimate and he tried to get my husband to sign a 3day wait paper and if they had not heard from us in 3days that mean we want them to do the job and we would owe them a certain amount of money I told him want no one signing anything and then he kept on and on giving different figures military discounts and so on we told him don't worry just go we want be dealing with scammers or someone trying to get over on us.

Roof replacement

well our roof is coming to end of life span. we were having 4-5 estimates done. homefix was first to come to our home. Salesman was Vince Delquie. It was a long meeting and a lot of flipping pages on his ipad. By the end of the hour, it was the 29,000 estimate, but since they are opening a new area, tonight only 14,800 for our roof. We again told him, we were getting several estimates and he would need to leave his paperwork. He got mad and picked up all his stuff and left. Was not a good experience, and did not show a very professional side for the company.

Company not honoring warranty

Purchased windows for house, few years later all windows are discoloring, one to the extent that you can't see out of window. Contacted Homefix they gave me a 50 year plus warranty on the original contract. Now they are telling me they won't cover the glass and I have to pay to replace it. That would make the individual cost per window close to $1000. I could have had the best windows available installed for that price. How can this company sell a product and then claim they are not responsible for it? Very disappointed that this company has turned out to be so disrespectful to their customers with such poor business practices and not honoring a warranty they promote.

Full of lies

Let me start of by saying I am very blessed to have someone in my family that does this kind of work. If it wasn’t for him I would have never dug to find these negative reviews that one of the owners said didn’t exist!! What should have been a 45 Mom measurement turned into almost 4 hours. Promises of low monthly payments were made ($165/mo). And this low payment was promised if I signed a contract and became a “model home” for them to post pictures of. They try to make a homeowner feel special by saying stuff like that, but after reading some of these reviews it seems to be something they say to everyone! Which tells me they are overcharging in their original quote. What really got me was all the emphasis I was told about having W2 workers, that they don’t subcontract. Well thanks to my family member that is in this line of business, he’s worked with this company before and they do subcontract. Why lie? This company is messing with people’s hard earned money. If you work with them, you are taking a huge risk on the biggest investment you’ll ever make... you home. Oh, and after getting several calls to try to confirm my appointment, I never got the name of any of them. No one gave me their name. And they obviously don’t talk to each other. Three calls to confirm by three different people calling from three different phone numbers in three different states.

Terrible company

We had new siding put on our home in 2012. At the time, I didn't realize that the salesman who claimed to be the nephew of the owner; which was lie #1, miss measured. The back of our house is just about all over sized windows which go from floor to ceiling. So, we were over charged. We have a 100 yr warranty on the siding and labor. In Aug. 2016, I started calling Home Fix to have someone come out and look at our siding. The siding was sorta bubbling and pulling away from the house and when it would get wet, the color was coming off and it was now a very dull color. I had kept a piece of the siding in my garage to compare it to what was on the house and 4 years later, there is a very different shade of red. I was very persistent in trying to have this issue resolved. To make a long story short, we did get new siding in June 2018 but not until after talking to several people and I had to call them 2 - 3 times per month for over 16 months. And each person I spoke to told lie after lie. At one point, I was told that our siding was a custom color and they no longer carried it. Lie #2 The manufacture who came out to investigate and told me that they had a warehouse full of it. We were also told in the beginning that they don't subcontract any of their work. Lie #3. I asked why the J channels were not being replaced to the only installer who spoke English and not very well and he first told me that he wasn't given any. When I point out 2 boxes of J channels, he then told me that they don't replace them. So, for now anyway the siding looks good but the J channels which surrounds the windows are real dull. After they left, I re parked my car in front of my garage. Because it was getting dark, I didn't check their work that night. The next morning, I got into my car to leave for work which was my first day back to work after having surgery and realized that I had a flat tire. I had to call my husband at work and have him come home to change my tire. I would have done it myself but the surgery I had was on my hand. I dropped off the tire to have it repaired and after work, I picked it up. I was told that I had a nail in the tire and it was the exact nail that was used on the siding. When I got home, I walked my drive way and picked up 8 nails in the drive way around the area that I park my car and 2 in the grass. After dinner, I walked my property and found 2 empty pepsi cans, 3 cigarette butts (Marlboro non menthol), several small pieces of siding and a water bottle that was more than half full with a yellow substance. Now, we can all guess what this yellow substance was. Also, when I complained about the J channels, one of them called me a "F____ing English in Spanish. I took Spanish years ago but can only speak a little Spanish. I do understand some Spanish words. Several days later, I found many small white screws in my grass and come to find out, they are the screws that hold up my gutters. They only replaced maybe half of them. BTW, the gutters they put on my house back in 2012 were POS. They are the lowest quality. They weren't even installed correctly. They weren't put on level and we originally had 5 down spouts. They only installed 4 so, they over fill now when it rains. Oh and they almost rolled their pick up truck in my drive way as they were leaving. The pick up truck was top heavy with the old siding. I wish I had video taped this because it was hilarious. I have no idea how they made it down my road which is hills and many bends in the road without wrecking. After all of this, no one even called me from Home Fix to see if I was satisfied. They could care less. I would have called them about this last installation but I'm so done with Home Fix. I am so mad that I know I wouldn't be able to hold a professional conversation with them. The money we paid them, I would have been better off just setting fire to it. I could not recommend Home Fix for any home remodeling. I hope to never have to talk to anyone from Home Fix. I do have pictures on my cell phone but because I'm computer illiterate, I can't figure how to get the pictures off my phone and onto my computer. I will figure it out and write another review the pictures.

Dishonest - tried to scam an active duty soldier and his wife! Do not let them in your home!

Michael Anthony of Homfix Custom Remodeling tried to scam my husband (an active duty soldier) and me (his chronically ill wife) into purchasing a new roof based on lies and badgering. He based his price $17500 on the 25 square roof. He lied and said we was a partner (1 of 6) in the company. He promised to manipulate the finance company to keep our payments at $150 (which he had no power to do). We repeatedly asked him to leave our home – I was in the middle of a lupus flare and was about to pass out). I explicitly told him I was feeling pressure and badgered. He didn’t leave. The 45-minute sales pitch turned into 4 hours. When I had our roof measured and came back with a much smaller number than 25 squares and found out that he is not even listed on the company website – he tried to back track, that he said 23.5 squares, that the pitch of our roof made the number much higher than I thought. He was an investor ect. I told him that I wanted the same price per square he was offering about $700 but for the actual size of our roof. I was having an actual roofer measure our roof and when I got the size in writing he would honor it or I would let the world know he was trying to scam us. He snarled at me that the deal was off, and the new price would be $24,000 and I could put that in writing. He ended with “And please don’t call my company”. Of course, then when he tried calling my husband’s and my cellphones we didn’t answer which lead to another person in the company calling both cellphones and leaving a message because their “representative” called them and I should call back A.S.A.P. Of course, I didn’t. I wouldn’t buy a new roof from them if it was only a $1. Michael Anthony and the whole company is dishonest. How low does a sales rep have to be to try and take advantage of a U.S. military member and his chronically ill wife? Do not let these people into your home!
