Scammed out of $2915

Signed contract with Home Fix Corporation on 02/28/2014 for roof replacement and gave $2915 deposit via debit card. The contract stated that the work was to commence within 6-8 weeks of signing contract. Six weeks later, I had not heard from company, so I began calling to find out status and was told after each time after five calls that I would be contacted right away. When I was finally able to get someone on the phone 04/14/2014, I was told there is no record of my contract and that someone would call me back. When I called Home Fix at 9:00am on 04/15/2014, there was no answer. Since there was no answer via phone, I drove to their physical office on to find it empty - as if they ran off in the night. I am prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law and exposing them on any/every media possible and reporting to any/all agencies that exist.

HOMEFIX of Gburg, HOMEFIX CORP, HOMEFIX INC, ALL THE SAME COMPANY!!!

Maryland Case Search.com, ALL OF THESE COMPANIES ARE THE SAME! pull up all companies and look at the owners, look at all the law suits against them. Look at how many times they have changed names, look at how they continually relocate and change "resident agents". They are ALL THE SAME COMPANY, THEY ARE ALL SCAMMERS AND *** ARTISTS!!! If they hadnt been able to change their names so often, the state would of shut them down already, they are scamming our judicial system just as bad as they will try to scam you!!! This company is pathetic, they should be ashamed!!! I think their lawsuits speak volumes.

Terrible Service, Terrible Work

I know I have complained before about how the salesman came into my house, asked for wine like he was interested in me and then sold me some overpriced windows. Well now, I have something else to complain about. The actual work and these no good workers (or hired day laborers) that came and installed my windows and doors. The sealant on the windows looks like something I could of done and I am not licensed to put in windows. There is caulk all over my windows and to top it off, it took them two days to install a storm door that I was charged $1000 for and the door does not lock AT ALL. What is the point of having a door for added security and the thing DOES NOT WORK!!!! Very upset and I wished I would of shopped around to get my windows done because now I am in the process of selling my house and when people come and look at this mess, that is a complete turn off and who has $10,000 to redo windows and a door?

Harrassing Phone Calls

I had an appointment set up to get a free estimate on windows and a sliding glass door. When the day came up my son got sent to the er and I had to take care of that first so I had to cancel the appt. Since that day mind you 3 months ago.. I have been getting 3 to 4 phone calls a day. I want them to stop calling me this is harrassment and the company could loose their business if I decide to take further action. IM DONE WITH THEM!!! If they read this please stop calling me

Homefix 24/7 spoke to my dead mother

Homefix 24/7 sold my mother insurance for her sky satellite dish for £75 a year – questionable insurance in that the cost of a call out is less. However the real concern is that their sales techniques. Their sales people used high pressure telephone sales but the real beauty was when they wrote to my mother in October saying - "following our telephone conversation of 3rd October we enclose your renewal documents. The telephone conversation where they claimed she had renewed her policy was remarkable given that she had by that point been dead for several weeks. Makes one wonder doesn’t it

HomeFix

HomeFix solicited me for what they advertise as a FREE ESTIMATE. After sitting through over 2 hours of the most horrible sales pitch ever I would not sign a contract. My sales representative, Graham, snatched the estimate from my hands. When I asked about my NO OBLIGATION FREE ESTIMATE he said he would send it to me in the mail. That was over three weeks ago. No estimate ever received. What a HUGE waste of my time. At this point, if I can't even get the no obligation estimate, I would NEVER sign a contract with them. My sales representative, Graham, was consensending and rude. When when the light bulb finally went off in his head that I was not going to sign a $23,000 contract on the spot, he packed up his samples (and damaged my cherry wood dining room table in his haste) and left with a BIG ATTITUDE! Stay away from HOMEFIX - they are SCAM ARTISTS.

Homwfix had my 80yr old blind mother sign a contract for a new roof

Homefix called my 80 yr old legally blind mother randomly to solicit some business ie sell a roofing job. They told her how great they were and that they had the most competitive price and if they could meet with her today she would get a FREE estimate. She agreed and they were there within a couple of hours. The salesperson asked her how old the roof was and she told him that Dad had a new roof put on in 1987. He told her that roofs only last 20 years so it was really time to replace it. He went up on the roof to do the Free inspection. When he came down they told her that she had shingles missing and now she had rotten areas in the roof. It really needed to be replaced. He totally snowed her. He wrote up a contract and had her sign it. My mother has Macular Degeneration and cannot read type unless it's back lit and enlarged 20x and that takes time. He had another appointment to get to, so he read it to her!!!!! Can you believe it! Wouldn't even leave it for her to go over it with someone else! But, he waited around long enough to write him a deposit check of $4807.00. Luckily when she told me about it I was able to contact her bank and stop the check. While at the bank I called the phone# on the contract and canceled the contract. The guy I spoke to said he hand deliver the check to my mother and I told him to destroy it since it was no good anymore the banker said he needed to mail it back. I called Mom to tell her it was taken care of and guess who comes knocking on her door!! I told not to open it and just say "We canceled the contract". I believe that what the did is criminal. Taking advantage of the elderly and disabled is a crime and they should lose their licence.

Happy with Homefix, went with them twice

Homefix of Fairfax replaced my roof last year and they did a great job. They were professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They did the work in a timely fashion, and I was happy with the job. Last week, I had them come back to replace my storm door and a sliding door in the back. Again, everything went well and I was very satisfied. I even recommended Homefix to a neighbor and she had them replace all her windows. She was satisfied as well. When I replace my windows down the line I fully intend to back to Homefix again. I'd recommend Homefix to anybody.

Filled out a credit application in my name w/o my approval

In VA, you have 3 days to terminate the contract after signing, in case you change your mind. I was pushed really hard to sign a contract when I didn't even want to, to lock in the price, which was good. There were several variables I was uncomfortable with, and I found someone I liked better the next day. I was told by Scott that all I had to do was call him to cancel. I had NOT authorized him to seek credit for me for the project. When I called to cancel and was sending in my written notice, Scott said that I HAD TO COME TO THE OFFICE because he had gotten me approved for a loan for the project, and THAT IF I DIDN'T COME TO THEIR OFFICE IT WOULD AFFECT MY CREDIT! I never asked for that AND HAD TOLD HIM I NEEDED AT LEAST 2 DAYS TO DECIDE AND CONFIRM. Also, Even AFTER meeting with the salesman Scott, I was called to set up a first estimate though he had been there already! Now I feel they are being lying, extortionist, as well as using my identity info for fraudulent credit request and I am getting hassled by them when I DO NOT WANT THEM FOR THE WORK AND I AM WELL WITHIN MY THREE DAYS.

HomeFix Scam Artist

Listen. if you chose to allow this company in your home this is what will follow. You will me a 25-35 year old man. He will tell you he is the uncle of the owner. he will probably alude to being a "director of marketing" These are 2 lies off that bat. No one employed there is related to the owner and they have no position called "marketing director" The company is comprised of the president, 7 or 8 salesmen, 20-25 15 years olds that go door to door looking for leads and a 5-10 telemarketers. Next they will tell you about their "Model Home Program" and how you have been chosen for it. They will give you a lengthy presentation about the history of the company and how the "Model Home Program" was developed. This is the next lie. There is no "Model Home Program" Next they will give you a severely marked up price and then tell you they will give you "40%" off of that price but you have have to sign up today to be the "model home" because if you dont they have have 3 more apointments and one of them will. These are the next lies. You can sign the contract that day or 6 months from now and they will give you the same price. They simply introduce the price with a 40% mark up to give you the feeling of receiving a deal. Next if they pressure you into the contract please make sure they attach the "right to cancel" form. They by law have to have you sign acknowledging you have the right to cancel but more times than not they try and skip over it or just dont bring it as to avoid inducing buyers remorse. Lastly just know they will never ever be the lowest price you come across. If you get the same window anywhere else it will be cheaper. I have sat in the room with alot of these particular sales guys and they laugh about how they over charged up 150-200 a window and then brag about how overcharging fattened their paychecks that week. Every word is true and I bet you will find many people will comment with the exact same experience. If more people were willing to share their experience instead of feeling embarassed that they got duped I believe you would see a lot more educated consumers and a lot less scam artists like these.

HOMEFIX CORP HUGE SCAM, HORRIBLE!!!

This is not about HOMEFIX CORPORATION OF GAITHERSBURG. This is Homefixcoporation.com, in VA MD & DE. I dont even know where to start. This was so unprofessional on tooooo many levels!!!!! I wanted a FREE ESTIMATE, just as one of the other complainants posted, I was totally duped into signing a contract. Im not a ***, btw. I was disclosed soooo much additional information, but oddly not disclosed what I was really signing off on. The "Marketing Rep, Tommy" came to my house, he only "goes to about 6 sales calls a year" but for ME, WOW JUST FOR ME, HE CAME TO GIVE ME THE BEST OFFER!!! Arent I special?? Funny, another complainant down the street, had the same exact complaint. So there are now 2 identical complaints to mine, 2 different issues? VER BATIM of what I would of said, or did say to them. I reviewed the contract I was duped into signing, as I was highly perplexed how I got scammed. The third page was missing, the "intent to terminate contract" page was oddly missing??? Hmm, that sounds fishy. Again, I was only (thought) I was signing off on a "Free Estimate". Good Ol Tommy, the one who "is going to own the company in 6 years" (TMI! UNPROFESSIONAL, BRAGGING) Tommy says he will be back in a week to give me my FREE ESTIMATE. FYI, because I was soooo special, I was going to be given $10,000 off the original price, can you believe it???? Hells no!! Sounded good, I wanted to see it on paper!! Oddly the next day, a have a man come to my door to "start the job"!!!!!!! START THE JOB??? WHAT? I didnt even get a phone call, I got a POP IN!!! This is wrong on soooo many levels!!! The man feels bad, he can tell Im pissed, I told him I wanted a free estimate and he finishes my sentence "and they just wanted to make a sale". HMM, seems like this poor man has heard this before????? Not a good sign to me at all. I tell the man I dont want to waste his time and to leave as I only signed off on a FREE ESTIMATE, to which he is looking at it and says, I HAVE A SIGNED CONTRACT TO START THE JOB. Again... WHAT????? Tommy calls me 11 times that day!!!! 5x in 6 minutes while Im on a work phonecall!!!! so unprofessional, bordering on STALKING!!!!! I file a formal complaint via fax, I tell them without the 3rd page of their bogus contract, that makes the entire contract NULL & VOID!! Apparently Tommy didnt get the memo, and the *** calls my house that night at 8:30pm, again very unprofessional. My husband takes the phone from me and proceeds to ask Tommy where the third page is of the contract, AS TOMMY ARGUES WITH HIM THAT HE HAS A SIGNED CONTRACT TO START so who cares what my husband has to say, Tommy has his contract. When again, asked where is the 3rd page to the contract, 'the intent to terminate contract', he says "IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE THERE" and hangs up. Needless to say the first time my husband hung up on him, Tommy had the nerve to call back, at least this time he did not. I had a very nice man call me and apologize for Tommy's unprofessionalismS. I told him I was not trying to slander the company but yet this man is a complete scamming salesman. After reading so (too) many complaints on him in particular, I realize this man is a total *** artist and uses the same song and dance on everyone he can get his hands on. I am renegging on my offer to not slander the company- and I will let everyone know how horrible my experience was, as it is obviously happening to many others, same exact song and dance. If I saw no other identical complaints on this man, I would never ever do this. This man needs to be stopped. The company needs to fire him, regardless of his uncle owning it and him going to own it in 6 years when he inherits it. ***

THE TRUTH ABOUT HOMEFIX.. STAY AWAY!

I used to work for Homefix in Gaithersburg and my first words of advice... DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! The main sales pitch for Homefix is they give you a huge story about the history of the business. The 2 original owners couldnt afford advertising so they started knocking on doors and offering an "advertisement home" program, where if you allow them to put a sign out front and distribute flyers for 30 days you will receive a "40% discount". But you cant discuss the price with your neighbors and you have to decide while the salesman is in your home because they have "sooo many" other appointments and its first come first serve. It doesnt matter if you sign that night or 6 months from then.. you will get the same deal... in fact, even the "40%" discounted price is inflated and higher than most other companies. Secondly... they love to sell you on the "all inclusive parts and labor warranty" which is also BS which you can see from the review by Bruce n. they will offer it to you but that doesnt mean they will follow through, and they usually dont! and someone from homefix can make a review saying that I am a bitter ex-employee, and you know what, you are absolutely right! because they treat their employess just as bad as their customers... in fact I have a friend who did business with them and now refuses to advertise for them like agreed because of how ill he was treated by even the Owner! Ive stated nothing that isnt true, in fact I could of said a lot more. I worked for them long enough to know how they operate, and if I can keep only one person from being screwed over by these guys then thats enough for me. but if you were smart you would shop around and find a better company because believe me there are plenty out there.

Harrassing marketing practices

IFor many months I've received harrassing phone calls from Homefix. I've written Homefix Corporation in vain to please reply to let me know: "How you obtained my unlisted phone number Why you hang up whenever we answer your calls, whether answered on one ring, four rings, or after six rings. Why the number on call back is always busy. Why when I call the main number listed on the web site are your phone reps alternately politely agreeing to remove our number (which apparently is not done) or the phone representative is defensive and occasionally abusive? Please monitor your so-called marketing practices!"

Home fix is a rip off

Home fix sucks. The marketing director came to my house. Drank wine with me and then tried to ask me on a date just to make a sale. He said "if you are willing to get the windows, I'll throw in a door" I get the contract and there is a $1000 difference. Since when does a screen door costs 1000? I told them I was very upset with the work. My windows are still drafty. And they sold my loan within a week of my complaint. I plan to continue to complain and I hope that they lose business. Please do not use home fix. They are a rip off
