Home Design Restoration came to my home many months after we had a disaster (flood). Home Design fraudulently told me they were contracted with my insurance carrier, that they would help conduct an inventory of our home contents, including but not limited to furniture, clothing, housewares, kids toys, etc. Home Design came into my home and took everything from me and never produced an inventory, which was promised. They then sent me invoices which were unreasonable and exorbitant along with some horrible photos of some of our things, with many items missing. Home Design will not return phone calls and as soon as we questioned their billing practices, they immediately sent all communication to their "legal consultant" who is a convicted felon, having been sentenced to jail for insurance fraud and he was unhelpful. Home Design is trying to bill me $53,000!!!!!!!!!!!! They are saying they took an inventory of our items, cleaned and restored or repaired them, although they assured me NOTHING would be done until we gave them express permission to do so, which they clearly state on their website as well. They were only supposed to make our contents list and pack out our things so we could begin construction to repair our home. Home Design did exactly the opposite of what they said they would do and fraudulently lied, saying on their invoice, that all of our contents were "wet" when they came into their custody, which is a complete lie. Home Design did not come to our home until 5 months after the flood and everything had already been dry. The flood was only in part of our home yet they claim that ALL of the contents needed cleaning/repairs. No one authorized this and they are not contracted with our insurance carrier. In fact, our insurance carrier has told me they are the worse company, bullying customers and threatening lawsuits, forcing people to pay them so they can retrieve their belongings, yet they never actually ever give their things back. Their bills get rejected by all insurance carriers, as they are aware of this fraudulent company. My carrier has advised me that this company has engaged in insurance fraud and unethical billing practices. They will not give my things back to me unless I pay them the full amount of their invoice, without even showing me my possessions, where they are, how they are being stored, etc. They are a total scam and this has been devastating to my family, as we have lost all of our belongings and now they want us to pay them for "services" they did not provide and if they in fact did do any cleaning or restoring, it was against our consent and it was completely unnecessary and not reasonable. Our family has been put through enough, having been displaced from our home and Home Design has taken advantage of us at a vulnerable and difficult time in our lives. We cannot sleep at night and this whole experience has been a nightmare. We will have to pay to hire an attorney to help us and we just want what is rightfully ours and we want to move on with our life. We have searched the internet and have found that Home Design Restoration/Complete Contents has a horrible reputation, having an "F" rating with the better business bureau, horrific customer reviews, and seemingly every customer involved with them has had the same or worse experience with them! Our insurance adjuster is connecting us with other victims of this company we have contacted the district and city attorneys offices to make sure not one more family will be hurt by this company. They should not be allowed to continue conducting this type of fraudulent and criminal business practice. They do not have "company" e-mails and I believe they use fake names. The whole company seems like a front and as soon as you question anything, they ignore and block your calls, forward you to their collection department, which is the same as their billing department.

On October 24, 2017, I received call while driving home from work that fire trucks were at our home. Upon arrival, I discovered that as a result of my son's hover board "blowing up" in the house, my home was full of smoke. The hover board had been plugged in and was charging, and malfunctioned, causing it to smolder. The house was filled with smoke and ash. Thankfully no one was hurt as a result of what happened, and luckily there was no fire. However every room in our home, furniture, clothing, and other contents were damaged by the ash and smoke that resulted from the hover board incident. We were immediately displaced from our home, because it was clearly unsafe to be there. Having never had to deal with such a situation before, we were at a loss about where to turn to take care of the contents in our house. Our insurance company (Allstate) relocated us to a nearby hotel, but the bigger issue we were left to figure out, was how to deal with the damaged furniture, furnishings and other property inside the home. Not only did we need the inside of our home repaired, but the contents themselves were the bigger problem. Certainly, many items could possibly be replaced, but there were a number of irreplaceable items, such as photos, personal sentimental items, certain clothing, computers, etc., that could not be replaced. We needed to find a restoration company that could quickly help us in that regard, and time was of the essence. How did you choose this place, they were the first company that could come out? As a result, we chose Home Design Contents Restoration. The nightmare I came home to on October 24, 2017 is nothing in comparison to the nightmare I continue to experience with Home Design Contents Restoration. In short, the company is literally holding our home's contents ransom. Our insurance company paid Home Design Contents Restoration the sum of $54,000, and will not pay any more than that. Our insurance company obtained several quotes from other restoration companies, and based on what those companies would charge, the amount paid to Home Design Contents Restoration was deemed by my insurance company was considered to be reasonable and customary. This is where the problem continues to worsen. Because we do not have the funds to pay the additonal $26,000 demanded by Home Design Contents Restoration my contents remain in storage, condition unknown, and I continue to incur the monthly sum of $800 for storage of the contents of my home. Attempting to contact the company became impossible, and I enlisted in the assistance of an attorney. However, I'm informed that even attempts by my attorney to contact the attorney for Home Design Contents Restoration have been futile. There are no return calls, and the contents of my home remain in storage, literally being held hostage until the remaining sum of $26,000 is paid.

Horrible scam of a company
This is a horrible scam of a company. They try and scam your insurance for a high dollar amount. It’s been 3 1/2 moths and they are holding ALL ENTIRE CONTENTS for RANCID. Do not use this company. Full of fraud, non customer service that’s will fraudulent check signing as well never return emails or calls and continue to bill and charge for services not complete or needed! BEWARE AND READ SLL REVIEWS EVERYWHERE! The good reviews on this site are there own employees! Scam. We’re all Americans and THEY DEFINITELY DON’T act like them! Horrible. Run away to a legitimate company that will actually want to help you in your situation.

Home Design Contents Restoration - Restoration Review
I am being harassed by this company now for a bill they sent me two years ago. Their collection agency is calling me everyday and yelling at me on my phone, voice mail etc. The Venice Storage Facility burned down and this company was onsite claiming they are with the storage company and that they had to handle anything coming out of the storage, due to aspetose. I had a bunch of kitchen equipment that they took to clean, never gave me a quote and then said I owed $2500. Rip off, as the kitchen equipment was minimal ( a few toasters, burner, etc) They kept the equipment so I had to buy new ones. Now, two years later they are harassing me for $3500. This company needs to be reported, they ripped everyone off at the Venice Storage Unit.

Home Design is the biggest scam of Earth
My house was flooded with sewerage and this company was refereed by Emergency Restoration Service which was another scam company. Home design come to my house and packed for 1.5 hours and 10 boxes later. I wanted them to leave the house when i started to do some research about them. they wanted to box up my personal belongings that wasn't damaged during the flood and said it will packed away for storage. they will not leave until i agreed and they took 6 small boxes. I end up getting a bill for over $4000 for storage and packing. my insurance company denied the claim and now i am fighting with them and every other day they will email demanding for money. these company like Emergency Restoration Services should be put in jail for what they put home owner go through.

If you have an option to use another restoration company please do. The stress and inconvenience this company has brought to a client who is already in distress because of the situation that brought the client to call this company. They charge way to much for the services they offer and it is TERRIBLE service!. Unprofessional dealing with this company! Yes they work with insurance companies but it seems like they care about taking advantage of their customers to collect a large amount of money. The family is already seeking help and they do not need to be exploited because of the situation so they can make some money. PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT RESTORATION COMPANY.. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Fraudulent and the most deceitful company I have ever dealt with. Thankfully, most of the big insurance companies are aware of their unethical business practices and invoices from them are red flagged and the insured/HD customs is contacted before payment is made. During a move Home Design Contents Restoration treated me worse than any company I have ever dealt with. They treated my items with disrespect by destroying them quite a few of them. Pretended like they didn't know what I was talking about and LIED LIED LIED LIED. They used my house as their own personal shopping center, taking whatever items they pleased. And surprise PRETENDED LIKE THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. Kara Kelly would not know the truth if it hit her smack dab in the face. You've got to be LOST SOULS to act like this and have no remorse. RUN FOR THE HILLS AND DO NOT LISTEN TO THEIR PREPOSTEROUS STORIES OR LIES.

Shocked at the negative reveiw
I was looking surprised to see the negative review when someone told me about it. My friend was looking for a company for another friend of theirs and they asked me about Home Design. We were very happy with our experience. We had to have some of out furniture removed and dried out when we had water in our home. We called Home Design Contents Restoration. I am shocked at the negative review, and think there must be something more to it. David and Oscar were efficient, helpful and positive. They cleaned up the job site well when they were done, too. I would recommend Home Design to anyone else, especially with workers like these.

HOME DESIGN CONTENTS RESTORATION SCAMMERS THIEVES AND BLACKMAILERS My name is Michelle *** I am recently widowed and am in the process of needing to move my content I had called up this company Home Design Contents Restoration and spoke to an Individual named “AVNER GOLAN” who had agreed to have his movers move all of the belongings their storage promising me a fair and easy price everything seemed to be going well up until the point when AVNER asked me for a safety deposit claiming it was insurance that everything would be moved safely an there would be no damage to my belongings or his equipment’s and he then requested for $2,000.00 cash safety deposit automatically I thought it was strange and did not make any sense but in the hectic chaos of moving and the job already being started I overlooked it, and did not really have time to think about it and just agreed after he kept bothering me about it claiming he would not be able to continue the work until he had this deposit so.. I gave in hoping it would be returned to me after the move as he stated and trusting in good faith that this man Avner Golan would keep his word, This Man Avner Golan and His Company Home Design Contents Restoration stole my money and REFUSED to give me back my $2,000.00 safety deposit claiming there was “extra fees” and “work” for a 1 day Job?! I was baffled and In shock already not being in a good financial position I couldn’t believe that this man Avner Golan was literally stealing my money it was disgusting, I asked him to explain to me how “these so-called extra fees” and “work” that he claims was needed encompassed the vast price of $2,000.00 and what it encompassed he refused to show me any detail or reason as to why any extra costs incurred over a simple 1 day moving job and then it all hit me like a brick on the head when I realized this sick man Avner Golan not only SCAMMED me and RIPPED ME OFF including stealing my money but he was black mailing me when I told him I would call the cops or seek justice in a court of law if he didn’t return my monies back to me he replied that “Mam I have no problem returning the safety deposit but if I do I will keep all of your belongings” which I had learnt he has stored in his warehouse, Apparently this guy moves peoples belongings to his warehouse and then from his warehouse to their destination I would not be surprised if this man operates this scam on other unsuspecting individuals who are going through fast moves or stressful times when I pieced it all together not only was I ripped off but a victim of his blackmail and scam and I feel a responsibility to let everyone know to steer clear from this individual Avner Golan and the company Home Design Contents Restoration he is a scammer and a blackmailer who takes advantage of people in weakened states watch OUT for HOME DESIGN CONTENTS RESTORATION THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS LED BY A BLACK MAILER AVNER GOLAN, his 3 man show up himself “2 movers” hardly encompass a professional company you may as well just call it 1 Scammer and 2 Amigos.
