Bunch of amateurs

Terrible, hidden additional fees, agents make decisions to add LDW on their own. The worst experience Ive had with the rental company. Never again

No service at all

No drop off service. Youll pick up but not drop off. Some people have no way to get back home, etc. I really find that a problem

No resolution

Because I had a reservation at 2 different locations 2 different dates and when I went to get my car they said none are available

Defective car. $500+ a week?? Outrageous.

The rental car wasn't working properly shortly after we left the airport. It was making strange noises and the radio wasn't working, but I continued to my destination. Called a garage mechanic about the strange noises. He figured out a piece of material had broken off and stuck into the fan. Why in the world wasn't this noticed at GR car lot??

If my issue is resolved and my money is refunded I may use them again but if my issue is not resolved I most definitely will not use them again and I will continue to advise others to not use them as well

If I could give zero stars I would! I rented a vehicle from Hertz in Nashville TN and turned it in at the Bishop Airport Hertz in Flint MI. When I dropped the car off nothing was wrong with it no smell nor was it dirty. A few days later I noticed that Hertz had charged me over $600 for a $200 rental. I called them to see why and they told me they charged me $400 for a cleaning fee . I was totally confused as to why would I be charged a cleaning fee when the car wasn't dirty, (I did have my grandchildren with me but they didn't make a mess at all, they were pretty much sleep the whole ride.) The representative told me that in their notes it said the car had a strong odor, now I'm really confused!! I said what strong odor??? I don't smoke and me and my grandkids don't stink so what odor?? I talked to a few different representatives no one could tell me what kind of odor it was. When I dropped the car off it didn't have any type of odor. I really hate I rented a car from these people, its like they can just take your money and say *** you!! I am a hard working mother & grandmother it's just hurtful for a company to take your money for nothing and there's nothing you can do about it. I rent cars all the time and never have I experienced this. Everyone I talk to at Hertz keep saying the charges are valid and there's nothing they can do. I really want to talk to the person that checked the car when I turned it in, I want to know what odor did he/she smell because there was no odor. Hertz need to have multiple people inspect vehicles when people turn them in to be sure because I'm really being charged for a false odor. I will never rent from these people again and I am informing others about my experience and advising them to not rent from them. I am currently looking into legal help with this matter and sadly a law adviser informed me that Hertz has a history of over and falsely charging their customers and have a lawsuit against them for renting cars then reporting them stolen!!! Hertz or any car rental agency that has anything to do with Hertz will never get business from me, my family or friends ever again!!

Waited in line for 1.5 hours and then told no car available so wait even longer

Waited 1.5 hours in line at slc hertz at airport. Then was told car was not available and would hopefully get one in an hour or so. What a joke of a company. Dont make the mistake of using hertz. Every other car rental place is without a line and getting cars

They didn't have a problem charging my chime card

I booked and payed for a rental 6 weeks ago. Went to pick up today 6-2-23 and the rude associate said we don't take chime. I mentioned that they didn't have a problem charging said card. She tried to convince me it was AAA that charged my card when all my statements say hertz. Par for the course, the customer behind me also had a chime card that the associate gladly accepted.

Terrible service in Puerto Vallarta

We rented a car from Hertz through the AAA application that I have been a member of for many years. The site said the car rental was going to be around $250. I dont remember the exact amount. we purchased car protection through Allianz for an additional $99. assuming that AAA and Allianz would be a safe bet. When we got to PVR and the Hertz office we ended up paying $525. We spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out why there was so much difference but the language barrier was very frustrating. It took us over 3 hours to get a car and settle on a price. Then, the next day the car wouldnt start and I could reach nobody anywhere for help. We finally had to take an Uber the 20 miles back to the office in order to get it taken care of. Overall the service was the worst Ive ever experienced not to mention we felt completely ripped off. If you would like to discuss this or give me any positive information please feel free to contact me 406-370-****. In the mean time I am giving a horrible review and telling everyone about the customer service your company does not provide. Pam Carlson

Hertz haven’t refund me for a cancellation fee.

Upon my arrival to the front desk at the Houston International Airport on March 10th, 2023 I was not able to pay for reservation K426293**** because I didnt have with me the credit card I booked the reservation with. I was asked to book a new reservation and told that no cancellation fee would apply. So, the charge would be cancelled in 8 or 10 business days. However, my bank account statement (card number 4772 14** **78 3223) still shows a charge for $129.21. I hereby ask you to cancel the charge as you told me and inform me how long will it take the charge to be removed. Thank you, Viviana Alvarado Mobile 52 55 34** **20

Charged almost $600 for the four day rental of a Nissan Sentra (compact car)

I rented a Nissan Sentra on October 5, 2022 from Hertz in Portland, Oregon understanding the rental car fee for four days would be $257.61. We used the car for four days and returned it on October 9, 2022 to the same Hertz facility that we were originally quoted. I returned from my vacation to my home in NJ on October 10, 2022. I checked my debit card charges online and found that Hertz had charged me an additional $323.56 as well as the $257.61. This was $323.56 more than I was quoted when I picked up the car. When I contacted the Hertz customer service they told me that I was charged $20.23 for bringing in the car one hour late (we returned the car two or three hours before the car was due). In addition they charged me $31.30 for an airport concession fee (we did not return the car to the airport, we returned to the same location we had picked it up which was in the city of Portland). The customer service representative informed me that the remaining charges were the charges I had agreed on when I rented the car. I also was charged $134.95 for a damage waiver and $93.90 for a liability insurance supplement, two charges that I was not shown when I rented the car because I have rental car insurance with my personal insurance company. Hertz charged me almost $600 to rent a compact car for four days! I am asking for Hertz to reimburse me $323.56 for the fees they over charged me. I googled the actual average car rental fee in the US and found that it was between $40.00 to around $64.00 per day. Hertz charged me $323.56 which works out to be $145.29 a day which is an outrageous amount to charge for a rental car. Again I am asking that Hertz refund me $323.56 that they overcharged me without my knowledge.
