Zero customer service

If I could get zero stars I would. Zero technical help from Heatilator on how to install a mantel through their "non-combustible" material front shield even though they say they allow screws through it yet don't allow framing behind it. Their instructions show guidelines for installing mantels of different depth as close as 6" to the fireplace appliance opening yet there is nothing to screw into except the heat shield. Told me to go ask my local distributor for help so I can "buy some parts from them" if needed. Don't ever buy this product, I'm seeinf if I can return both my fireplaces for my home addition.

Heatilator wood fireplace

Stove has been absolutely the worst stove ever. Smokes up my house, horrible design. Chimney cleaned monthly, and even kept adding joints of pipe to raise it still smokes. Dealer stop returning calls. Tried another stove from a buddy, worked wonderfully. Dealer and brand of stove gets a big thumbs down

Bad Electronis- Poor Customer Care

I purchased a new home in 2012 that came with a Heatilator Fireplace with (it turns out) electronic control over the pilot light. It just failed ( I paid $114 to find that out) and now the part installed costs $591. Customer Care said too bad-so sad, only a one year warranty and yes these things do fail from time to time. No help. I suggest that folks do not buy Heatilator products Lon Topaz 425-307-****

Tired of it not starting

My heatilator never starts. Have had a repairman here 4 times. Has been a problem since day 1. Great concept but discussed with it. Many parts have been replaced. Cleaned several times. Just does not seem to be getting gas. Electric start switch never works . Some times I can light it manually if I try over and over and over again. Some times it will not light at all. I just get discussed and quit trying then a week later my wife gets on me and I try again . Some times it will light and sometimes it will not. Tired of spending money on it and of course nothing is ever under ware try. My next step I believe is to have it removed and replaced with just fire logs. There are 5 new houses being built on my street and they have all asked how we like it. I am not one to complain so I just tell them my experience with it and let them make up there own minds.

Heatilator Fireplaces/Bottoms in Customer Service

My 27 year old condo has a Heatilator Fireplace. The doors are in need of replacement. I emailed their customer service department to inquire as to where I could purchase replacement doors. Their response, verbatim: "Sorry the doors are no longer available." I wrote back to ask for possible substitute doors from other manufacturers. The response was There are no substitutes. So I have to remove the entire fireplace and install a new one? Because the doors are falling apart? I replaced the doors on my last fireplace and the manufacturer was no longer in business. All I needed was the Brand, Model and Serial number. If I need a new fireplace, it WILL NOT BE A HEATILATOR.
