Trade in policies

I own a VERY rare 29 year old Ovation guitar (I was told by a fellow at Ovation there are around 200 known left world wide in excellent condition like mine). Anyway, I don't play any longer professionally due to arthritis in my hands. This guitar is beautiful , has a new $90 gig bag still with tags and it needs to be played so I decided to trade it for a common guitar that is about half the value with a hardshell case. I called one of your local stores and (the young man was very polite..he did nothing toupset me) but he said that he could pnly give me half the value and could not trade even. (Basically he discouraged me from even bringing it in). I assumed yur company would gladly trade a $400 (used) guitar and $60 hardshell case for an $800 guitar (if I had the original case it goes for around $1200). YOu guys definitely have the right to run your company the way you want but good business sense is to trade roughly $550 worth of gear for an $800 guitar and new bag. Collectors will want it. The last one I saw was in Tokyo (with a case) and went for $1150.00 Anyway, I was deeply disappointed. I have been a customer for many, many years but not any longer. I wanted a used Ej-200sce or a used Epiphone Dove Studio Pro...we all know they (in excellent condition) are REARLY worth around $400 plus a decent hardshell case...Why? It MIGHT have cost you $450-$500? I will no longer a customer and I do instigate things at all but I know MANY musicians (pro and amateur) some who buy from you, and rest assured, when asked by them (or anyone) I will tell them what I was told and how I was treated. Again, not by the kid I spoke. He was judt doing his job, but your company's policy and unwillingness to even discuss it.

Warning buyers to not make the mistake I made

WARNING I purchased a Kronos from guitar center on aug 22 For shipping they said 3-5days I checked in 7 days it had not been shipped it took 2 more days before they shipped I received it today in the a-cheap Inadequate recycled box That was completely trashed smashed Mess *** It had no (designators ie fragile ,this side up Sensitive electronics) They treated like And it arrived broken keys Cracked case it was 2-k worth of scrap WARNING

Guitar center had a “glitch”, canceled my order and sold the guitar out from under me

RuPissed to say the least. Ordered a used guitar and it sat in their system for a week saying back ordered. I call and they say that there is a glitch in the system and have to cancel my order and will let me know when its back up for sale. Well, they sell the guitar out from under me during this time. Called my advisor who wouldnt call me back after I had to leave a message. Sorry doesnt heal the heart of my student. Plus I have spent $$$$$ owning two music related businesses with two live venues. Hello sweetwater. Guitar center doesnt give a *** anymore!

Unauthorized Card Charge

I purchased a used synthesizer online at another Guitar Center & wasn't told that the item had been sold more than a month ago. So, I call customer service to figure out what to do & a lady by the name of Jae helped me to source a local item that was comparable in price for same day pick up, great I thought. I drive an hour to the local store & when I get there the manager can't find the power cord or USB plug to make sure the item works. I ask for a refund. I lost my time, money & gas right then & there. Then, I was refund my money the next day which was immediately taken right back out of my account! I contacted Guitar Center customer service & they're asking for an account statement to verify. I used my cash app card & cash app doesn't give statements until the next month comes around. Guitar center rep Santiago & "accounting" have been giving me the run around. So, I contacted cash app & they've filled a claim against Guitar Center & these transactions. NEVER, I REPEAT, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH GUITAR CENTER! They aren't organized, their systems aren't updated daily, they don't know whats in stock & what's been sold. Their customer service is a joke too. I've been inconvenienced, lost time, money & gas out of my personal vehicle dealing with them. They've lost my business for life & I'll be sure to right nasty reviews everywhere about how horrible this organization is ran. They should've went bankrupt, who bailed these idiots out? SMH

DV Mark Repair

Hello, I have a DV mark model DV-Raw Dawg-EG, serial J9N00481. Purchased Nov 14 2020 from Woodwind &Brass which I believe GC owns. I went to the DV website and they have you listed as the repair contact for North America. The amp runs for a min or two then the volume shuts off completely. How do I get this repaired, it's still covered under their 2 year warranty. Thanks, Martin I was also advised to call around all your stores till I found one that will accept it. Completely unreasonable request. Please provide the address of where I can return this for repair .

Return issues

I had paid cash for a new electronic drum set , pedal, amp and misc. hardware totaling 1500 bucks or so. On my way home i learned that my debit card to my checking account had been hacked and they hads to close my account due to fraudulant activity. I had no access to any money and we were on the first day of a three day weekend. I decided to take the equipment back to get some kind of funds to get my family thru the weekend. I learned that they would have to refund me with a check due to their no cash return policy. I was fine with that despite the fact i had no way to cash a check thru my account due to the fraud. The entire time i was being dealt with i could not help but feel like i was being treated like a criminal low life drug addict who was trying to get one over on guitar center. I proved my identity by showing them my ID for the warrenty on the amp i had bought. This did not seem to matter. By the time i got the refund every bank in town or check cashing joint was closed. I decided to sign the checks over to my friend and see if he could run them thru his account 3rd party. This was on a friday night of a three day weekend where all banks would be closed. Of course a hold was put on until the first normal busines day. After 2 days go by the bank manager took my ID and said now that he had all my info that they would release the funds later that afternoon. Well this did not happen. Instead they said the hold would be on for another 6 days to process. At this point i am broke as a joke my account still closed and i went back to the guitar center and explained to them that i needed to have them put a stop pay on the checks already issued and cut me new ones because i could not afford to wait any longer. Please help me? All i got was excuses on why they would be unable to do that that he would have to email and wait for his supertviser to sign off on it. He then told me it was all part of the return policy. I asked if i could see a copy of the policy because the one i had read had said nothing to the sort. The manager told me that he was not going to get in to that with me like i did not deserve an explanation. He started raising his voice loud enough that other customers gathered around to hear the issue. Once again I was made out to be some POS trying to take advantage of the situation or whatever just because i was so desperate for a refund as this was my only chance at a tank of gas to get me thru till my account was reopened. I have spent thousands of dollares with guitar center over the years and was sure they could do something for me. WRONG AGAIN! I was made to feel like a POS asking to much of the store just for a refund anyway i could get it. I was sent away completely empty handed. I had begged him to at least put a stop on the checks because at this point my buddy was not acting very buddy like anymore and was threatening me to keep the funds himself once the cleared. He could not guarentee this that i needed to call th store back in the morning to follow up after his email was answered. I guess calling was comppletely out of the question..At any rate my experience still ongoing is the worst service i have ever recieved at a guitar center in my 45 years. Rude and disrespectfull borderline bullying me to take their lame *** attempt and like it. Well i have no choice but to go back in to the store to see if i can get the new refund check tomorrow. Just wanted to share how disappointed i am in the redmond washington store for customer service.And due to this expierience i think i will consider moving my buissiness over to somebody who values long time customers and has their back instead of trying to stabb them in it.

Visit to a guitar center store

On May 19, 2022 I visited the Guitar Center store on North Central Expressway. I was there to look at ukuleles and possibly purchase one. I found the ukuleles on a wall toward the back of the store. None of the ukuleles were what I was looking for. There was one similar but one of the strings was broken. I had assistance from an employee. There was boxes below the ukuleles which made them difficult to reach. Some didnt have prices on them. The employee offered to bring me a ukulele from the stock room. It was what I was looking for. Compared to the store I visited earlier the ukulele section was a mess. Not accessible and malfunctioning ukuleles. If I ever needed service on my purchase I wouldnt feel comfortable taking it to Guitar Center. I wont be back to Guitar Center. Ill find someplace where things are in working order. Jan

Who I can visit with re: the Texas Cedar Hill Store?

I have a complaint about the loudness and type of music they play in the store-Heavy Metal Sundays. Also the quality of a used item they had listed for sale in good condition that was visibly damaged when we drove over an hour to get it. BTW - I have read and agree to the Pissed Consumer Terms of Service. I don’t think this is supposed to say Pissed** I can send someone the screenshot.

Extremely late package Order#GCW390738****

I just wanna start by saying this was my first online order with guitar center and I had an absolutely terrible experience. My daughter had a talent show at her school so I bought her a new drum set on your website. I placed the order on 4/18/22. You guys decided to ship the two boxes for the drum set separately, not only separately but with two different companies, UPS and FedEx. The order showed it was shipped on 4/19/22. It shows the package was delivered on 4/21/22. When i received the order from UPS it was only the box 2 of 2. Fedex had the box 1 of 2. Fed ex brought the box all the way to houston made a mistake and took the box to North Carolina. I had to wait for the box to finally arrive on 4/27/22. Needless to say the FULL package arrived too late and the talent show passed. While its not guitar centers fault for the misplaced package, guitar center decided to ship a 2 box set with two different carriers, a set that i cant do anything with if i dont receive the complete set.

Bad customer service , got ripped off

Bought a new guitar for 300.00 a couple months ago. Still in same condition and unused. My 13 year old son used his Christmas money but changed his mind. We sold it back to you in same condition today. Scott wouldnt even go up 12.00 on the deal. He gave us 132.00 back. When my son asked questions he was rude to us, unprofessional and just really a huge jerk for no reason. I felt like I was his enemy. My son is in tears, didnt get his money back he was expecting, but even worse never wants to go in that store again in Modesto ca, and never wants to learn guitar because he said those guys are so mean.

I purchased a used guitar online and the order got canceled because the guitar was already sold to someone else. It’s been over a week and I still have not been refunded. I’m livid!

Bogus sale of used guitar. And I still havent been refunded. Its been a full week since they sold me the item that they had already sold to someone else.

Defective guitars being sold

Defective Guild acoustic guitars are being displayed to be sold ,even though they are not playable. The necks are warped. I know this, because I attempted to purchase one of them. The retailer is Guitar center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Bad Service

I bought a Arturia mkII 61 keyboard controller.I can't get it working and it seems Arturia HAS NO HELP PHONE NUMBER???? I also got a TEAC 24 WITHOUT a invoice!!! I was told Gutair Center wouldn't send me a paper invoice ONLY e-mail???? If I bought at a REAL Guitar Center and NOT Guitar Center online,I WOULD have a REAL invoice.One was sent with the Arturia MKII 61 but NOT with the TEAC 24 track. Lesson :Don't buy from Guitar Center online and Don't buy ANY Arturia equipment if you think you may need phone support from a REAL PERSON. I'm DONE with Guitar Center and Arturia

Guitar Centre failed to deliver!

If you want a less than great experience, order something online from guitar center! We ordered a Christmas gift for our son back on 12/19/21 with a 12/22 expected deliver date, which never arrived. Guitar Center is taking no responsibility and are now passing the buck to UPS after it has been under investigation for 10 days. Still no resolution 20 days after the initial order. At this point, I just want my order, but calling customer service, talking to them through messenger and email has got us nothing but lip service. I will never buy anything from this company again. We'll likely need to do charge back with the credit card company and reorder through Amazon, which we should have done in the first place! Update 1/14 Well for those who have seen my previous posts we are still fighting with Guitar Center on an order we placed before Christmas! After 10 days of not receiving it they told us was an a UPS issue and would need to investigate, but would it take up to 10 business day. 10 business days came and went and I PM'd them to which they gave me an 800 number and said to call and they would resend the order. My wife then called and spoke to someone who said they would need to investigate further but would have it resolved by today 1/14. Well, as you can imagine, she called today and surprisingly they still haven't figured it out and can't send a replacement until a "supervisor" looks at it. If you've read my previous post you'll noticed that I asked to speak to a supervisor nearly 3 weeks ago and was denied. These people are playing games! Don't spend your money at this place! They are completely incompetent. Spend the extra $20 and buy from Amazon or Sweetwater where you'll be taken care of. This is the last time I ever do business with Guitar Center.

Resolved: Not credited for in-store returm

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund.

IN RE: GC1906**** On Dec 14th, 2021 I returned two Groove Tubes power tubes to the Fountain Valley, CA Guitar Center, An amount of $124.03 was supposed to be credited back to my credit card, but was not. I called the helpline, and they confirmed the return, but said that my refund had been misapplied to store credit, (or COA). I replied that this was NOT my desire, and I wanted the money refunded to my credit card. To date it has not been credited (over 30 days). This should NOT be confused with an earlier transaction where I was overcharged by the same amount, when both Guitar Center and Musician's Friend charged me for the same tubes. That refund has been applied, and coincidentally was the same amount $124.03. However, the above dispute involves a DIFFERENT transaction where I physically brought in two tubes to the store and dealt with a clerk. He said there was no paperwork generated to confirm my return or the fact I was owed money.
