Terrible experience

This outfit feels like an online predator. Accidentally booked here after clicking the sponsored link while looking for the actual hotel site. Took the bait of a low advertised price and didn't see the small print that taxes and fees were extra. The total cost contained taxes and fees that totalled 55% of the room rate. Did not see that the booking was non-refundable for early checkout. Ended up asking the hotel to leave a day early and they refunded the night to the booking site, (GM sent me a copy of the refund) but this site refused a refund. Ending up paying $1100 for 3 nights stay at a hotel with a posted rate of $160. Avoid these crooks at all costs.

As bad as they say, I *** I was just verifying the price and they charged my card

I reported their sponsored Ad to google. I hope the rest of you do the same. Now all I can hope is that my credit card company can get my money back.

Guest Reservations Scam

Original review Jul 30, 2023
I booked a hotel room for 2 nights for my wife and me. The room rate was supposed to be $125 per night. When I clicked on submit, the amount charged to my credit card (immediately I might add) was $375. I didn't understand why the amount was 50% higher. At first I thought I had mistakenly booked a 3rd night but, no, I didn't. So I called the number on the booking page and eventually got a customer service rep. I explained the descrepancy and he put me on hold to do "research". After 10 minutes on hold, I hung up. Subsequently, I realized that I was not on the hotel's website although the link is cleverly disguised. After further research, I discovered that this company, Guest Reservations, tacks on a 50% service fee no matter how much your total amount is. Spend $100, a service fee of an additional $50 is added. Spend $600, an additional service fee of $300 is added. In the small print, Guest Reservations justifies this money grab as "taxes" and "support for their 24hr service". To say I was seethingly angry at being scammed by this blatant rip-off would be an understatement. I immediately requested a refund and, although I did receive one, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this scam business.

Complany policy of non refundable reservation

Original review Jul 30, 2023
It hardly seems useful to post yet another scathing review of this company. Purely by accident I made a reservation, thinking I was dealing directly with the hotel. After making the reservation I realized I was not asked for my membership number. I realized I made a mistake and and 10 minutes later tried to cancel, only to find out that it was non refundable per their company's policy. It's a policy that is capable only of enriching them. I see that many, many others have experienced their shameless scam and probably suffered more than I will. I can keep the reservation but will be sure to never use their "service". I suppose that I could tell Wells Fargo that the reservation was a fraud. But then I would be as dispicable as your bloodsucking company. I tried sending them an email. They would only accept it with an itinerary number which they never supplied. Wishing them the very worst personally and as a company. they deserve it.

Stolen Money

Like you, I was on multiple websites comparing prices before deciding to book the Kimpton in Paris, sometimes you have to get down to the final booking tab to see the total with taxes and fees. Direct through the Kimpton website was $500 cheaper so I decided to book direct and not through Guest Reservations (GR). When I booked the Kimpton my tab changed and it looked like I wasnt finished, so I toggled back to my previous tab and landed on GR website - it turns out I had finished my booking on the Kimptons site and landed on GR site and completed booking there too on accident. I now had 2 bookings for the same dates. I immediately realized my folly and cancelled the booking on GR. GR sent me 2 emails back to back- one confirmation and one cancellation. I then called them to make sure everything went through- they let me know the reservation is cancelled but it is non refundable - they want to keep an entire hotel stay worth of money and cancel my reservation! Also they were $500 more than the Kimpton website for a service charge - what service? No cancellation protection, no help in customer service, what service are they providing that I am not getting automatically from Kimpton. I reached out to Kimpton and they agreed to reimburse GR so they can reimburse me. I informed GR and they keep sending this email saying they need it in writing in PDF format from Kimpton. Kimpton is being very reasonable and sending what they need yet they keep saying its not enough. Kimpton asked if they could reach out to them directly but GR keeps sending me the same email saying they need a PDF letterhead. I have been going back and forth with them for 3 weeks now. I am so frustrated that they are trying to keep $1,800 for a 30sec mistake - there should legally be a 24hours cancellation policy. I would never recommend them, horrible policies, up-charging for services not provided. It is a total scam and they are owned by Priceline- this is what the current customer service emails have in the email name when they respond to me. @priceline.com

Paid $120 MORE than I would have booking through the original hotel!

I purchased through what I thought was Holiday Inns original website, but only noticed after purchasing that I had not purchased through the original website, but it was too late to change since my ticket was non-refundable, conveniently listed in the fine print of my reservation. On the Holiday Inn website the room was selling for $113 per night, whereas I paid $120 per night. I was informed by the guest reservation website that $120 was the lowest price available via the Holiday Inn website, which was a direct lie. Additionally, I was charged a $130 booking and taxes fee.

Never wanted to use this service and never will in the future

Original review Jul 24, 2023
Like most, I accidentally made this change through their website thinking it was the hotels website. I decided to go through with it even with the awful fees; as long as they book my room and Im able to check in at no trouble I was fine. However, they duplicated my order and tried to charge me twice.. I only had one confirmation number (because I only ordered a single room!!!) and customer service on the phone was rude and tried to blame me for the duplication. I talked to 2 previous customer support people and they said it was an error on their end end. They told me 3 times that they called the hotel and they were aware of the duplication and would cancel. By the time I got there the duplication was still there!! The hotel charged me fees and charges for two rooms anyway and told me to call guest reservations. At this point I was upset and I was very patient previously. When I called again all of a sudden they told me that I booked a second room myself (clearly I didnt why would a duplication show up at the same time and day that guest reservations booked my room). And tried blaming the situation on me. Didnt give a refund after all this and told me Id get a discount of barely anything ($40) compared to a $500 order. Never got refunded!!! Unethical, unreliable, DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM!

Scammers!!!

On June 7, 2023, I booked a hotel room online and was quoted the price of 83 Euro. But as soon as I had submitted the payment, I received a receipt for 125.91 Euro. At no point before I clicked the "submit" button was I advised that there would be a 43 Euro "service fee" added. I immediately emailed Guest Reservations at confirmations@***.com to tell them I would like to cancel the booking even though the reservation was stated as nonrefundable, given the 35% increase and I immediately posted the request. This email bounced. The next day, June 8, I sent another email, this time to email@***.com, with the same request. This email also bounced. On June 9, I put in a request via their website, where it said they would respond within 48 hours, but I still have not heard back. I put in a complaint thought Better Business Bureau (where they are rated 1.05 out of 5) and they responded that they "charge applicable tax recovery charges and a service fee to cover 24/7 support, service and platform features, and operating costs." They claimed that they show the fees before booking, which is a lie. This is a scam company. Avoid at all costs!

Scammed

When I booked my ticket I was quoted a price of 5985 thai baht but the amount that was charged to my card was 8789.65 thai baht. There was no stage in the booking process that I was notified of this price difference.

If I could leave a zero I would!

I reserved a room for 4 days thinking I was on the hotels website bc it said guest reservations. I accidentally reserved the hotel in the wrong state. My fault (I think). I google hotels in the correct city and state but somehow ended up reserving in a state that had the same city name. My fault, I know. I figured it out in less than an hour and called to see if I could get a refund or change to the correct state. They would not help me at all. Customer service is in the Philippines. I called the hotel that had my reservation and they said they would allow the cancellation with full refund and no penalties. I called Guest Reservations back and the same representative answered and still would not help. Expedia, Priceline, Trivago, etc. are 1000% better than this shady operation. Also, the price they advertise ends up being about half of what they actually charge.

Dangerous Company

Because they show you apparently everything easy to manage.

Original review Jun 15, 2023
Be careful in using Guest Reservations services. They use a not clear policy concerning the management of booking date so that you could be debited only for a stupid change. They have taken from my account 434 euro and cancellwd my reservation in Simon Hotel Martinique

Unclear and extremely high "taxes and fees"

The price charged doesn't match the price advertised. You have to scroll way down to the bottom of the confirmation page that you pay on to see them. So if you are booking while in an emotional state (like for a funeral) and thought you were on the hotel's website and didn't scroll all the way down you miss them. They don't offer refunds. When I called right away to ask about the taxes and fees as they are labeled estimated and were more than the cost of one night at the hotel (over $200) they said that the fees were charged by the hotel. When I told them I pulled up the hotel's actual website and their taxes and service fees would have been less than $50 they hung up on me. They did offer a 10% discount. Seeing as their fees were 1/3 of the total amount I paid for my trip ($200 per night for 2 nights plus their fees) they still made a lot of money on me.

Horrible and fraudulent service

After advertising the price of $227 - I went to book for one night. Put in my credit card information, hit next and then it charged my card $313 without any information on the breakdown of fees or cancellation policy ahead of time. I immediately called customer service and was told there was nothing they could do. They offered 10-20% off the service in total, we Waited 43 minutes to finally get connected to a supervisor who was as useless as the customer service representative and again refused to provide any refund despite the fraudulent charges. I called within 1 minute of booking! Without even knowing I was booking! I just clicked next! This is crazy and horrible. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!! Will NEVER use them again. *bonus: received an email about my discount without any company information, discussion of what they are offering or confirmation that a discount was offered - just a generic email.

Victim of a rip off.

Why would I want to use Guest Reservations again? They are shady and use mirrors of hotel web pages and tricky wording in order to fool unsuspecting travelers.

Original review May 05, 2023
This service mirrors the actual web page of the hotel and you are tricked into believing you are actually booking with the hotel and you are not. You are charged ridiculous service fees and the rates are more expensive than if you had booked directly with the hotel. This is the lie they give you when you pay: This charge includes the estimated amount we pay the hotel for occupancy related taxes owed by the hotel and any amounts charged to us for resort fees, cleaning fees, and other fees. The balance of the charge is a fee we, the hotel supplier and/or the website you booked on, retain as part of the compensation for our and/or their services which varies based on factors such as location, the amount, and how you booked.

Credit card payment FRAUD

Below is a full copy of the email i sent to the Company to which i have received as yet NO REPLY , and NO REFUND . Exactly What happened to me booming through this Company has happened to MANY OTHERS ( see details at end of my email Copy of my email sent to theit Company customer care department earlier today ( customercare@***.priceline.com URGENT !! BOOKING PROBLEM Booking Ref. # 58923**** Ref to my email below regarding the large discrepancy between 1) . the price i was quoted by guestreservations.com on their website for the Hotel room i booked and 2.) The ACTUAL price i was charged on my credit card without my knowledge or authorisation , I have a question : Is there a problem in your booking system or is there some kind of fraud/scam going on where hidden fees are added on , during the credit card authorisation process without the consent of the cardholder ? The reason i ask this is because i was so shocked when i found out about these hidden fees that i went on to Trustpilot to check if others have had the same experience and found out that there are many exact same complaints , especially in the past 2 weeks from enraged customers. In my case it only when i received confirmation of the booking from confirmations@***.com, on 24 Mar 2023, at 22:50,that i found out about the extra fees added on without my prior authorisation or knowledge - this, if done knowingly of course would be classed as Fraud , in which case would lodge a complaint with my bank , the Federal Trade Commission, the police and Trust pilot etc However, if it is merely a glitch in your system whereby the Total cost of booking advertised for some reason has not included any additional costs such as fees etc , then i am informing you so that it can be fixed, and the hidden fees i did not authorise be refunded immediately . Note: Cancellation was not an option as apparently there is also a no refund policy in operation - unknown to the Hotel when i asked them I am of course hoping and expecting that the problem is a glitch in your system & so will await your reply regarding my refund of the unauthorised payments you made , before moving forward with any formal complaints procedure to the relevant authorities FTC , bank etc Yours Sincerely Phillip f j curtis Ps: below FYI are several similar reports on trust Pilot from the last 2 weeks SCAMMERS. DONT TOUCH THIS COMPANY. Disgusting behaviour from a GOOGLE verified company. SHAME on Google. They masquerade as the hotel, advertise a low rate headline rate, dont tell you about the fees and taxes until AFTER theyve taken your money. These are over 30% higher than the advertised hotel rates. *** SCAMMERS. They also allowed me to book a room and their cancellation policy was dated before I made the cancellation, meaning when i cancelled the room 4 minutes after booking they charged me in full for the room. They refused to reinstate the booking so basically stole £160 off of me. Absolute criminals. Date of experience: March 02, 2023 This company uses deceptive practices by advertising lower prices on their website for hotels, but when you actually complete a booking they hit you with an approximately 40% service fee. When I fell for their scam, I tried to cancel my booking and they wouldnt return my money. Horrible experience with the company and its employees. Date of experience: February 17, 2023 Do not use this website. They promise a deal, but charge a huge fee which you will only see when they charge your card. All bookings made by them are fully reimbursible to them, but not to you. Good luck getting your money back! Or even getting a response at all. Book via the hotel directly. Do not get ripped off. Date of experience: March 13, 2023 Be warned Be seriously warned. Fraud and false advertising DO NOT pay for bookings through this site with your credit card. PLEASE be warned. YOU will PAY more than DOUBLE what they QUOTE you and then NON of the links work. All give an ERROR 403. I booked for one person on 3 March 2023 at Nelson Mandela Boulevard Hotel. This company misleads you by making you think you are booking direct. They use https://gardennelsonmandela. guestreservations. com and it is fake this site does not belong to the hotel. They quoted me R1436 about US$78,96 They took from my card R2326,39 about US$124,84 At the Hotel the booking was done by Booking.com and the amount was R1664,35 about US$91,45 This amount included Booking.com commission. The bottom line is: Dont do business with Booking.com because they sell these rooms to these fraudsters. Be seriously careful. Sadly the Hotel just say this is a third party booking they do not take any responsibility for this hugely overcharged situation. They did promise they will address this with Booking.com their partner, but I have not received this feedback apparently battling to get hold of Booking.com. Date of experience: March 03, 2023

Mobile Site designed to deceive consumer - ZERO stars

GuestReservations is a deceptive website, which advertises misleading room rates and tacks on outrages fees. Their mobile website is designed to hoodwink unsuspecting customers. I was shown a rate of $155/night and found the rate to be acceptable--clicked on the fine print under the rate which read "Room amenities, details, and policies" and was simply shown Amenities and Value Adds. There was nothing about the strict no cancellation policy or added fees, so I proceeded. Given the 10:00 minute timer that was counting down on the top of my phone screen for the site, I thought I had to act fast to get this rate of $155 per night. I hurriedly proceeded with the reservation, expecting to be charged $155/night plus taxes. To my dismay, it wasn't until after I entered my information and clicked the big yellow "Complete Reservation>>" button, thinking I was booking 3 nights at $155/night, and then going to the receipt in my email inbox, that I saw that GuestReservations not only failed to properly disclose the correct nightly rates to me, but they also never disclosed the exorbitant fees that were going to be tacked on to the reservation. Not one single night was charged at $155. I called almost immediately after booking to request a refund because the rate I was given was not the rate I was charged--for any of the three nights--and I was told that the fees are for taxes and that I would not be given a cancellation. The taxes for a hotel room in Illinois are 13.5%. Should I have been given a rate of $155/night as was shown to me, for three nights, with these taxes, my reservation should have come out to $527.76. I was charged over $650! Aside from being hit over the head with the fact that they don't have cancellation or refund policy by all three of their associates I spoke with--one even hung up on me! I was repeatedly referred back to their "Terms and Conditions" which in and of themselves are misleading because they refer to an agreement between the customer and "Travel Agent" which is further defined as "Consumer Club, Inc. d/b/a/ Getaroom.com, a Texas registered company with a business address, 3010 *** Freeway, Suite 1500, Dallas, Texas 75234, for transactions in US Dollars (USD) and Canadian Dollars (CAD). IATA number 4550****;" Because I never went to Getaroom.com and Consumer Club is not mentioned anywhere on the header or footer of the website I was on - GuestReservations.com, I don't see how these Terms could even be construed as applicable in this situation! Furthermore, GuestReservations--the website I was on--is not mentioned even one time in the Terms and Conditions. When asking about GuestReservations about the fees and why they weren't disclosed before I had to click the big yellow bar that says "Complete Reservation>>", their representatives also referred me back to the Terms and Conditions. The Terms and Conditions for GetARoom.com and Consumer Club, however, do not properly disclose these fees with any transparency, either. If they were properly disclosed in their Terms, then the terms would explicitly state that you will be charged 40% of the cost of the booking in additional fees. Finally, with the last representative I spoke to, I brought it to her attention that I was able to find cheaper rates elsewhere--even on their own website--and that, she should be able to refund me on the basis of their Best Price Guarantee. She made no efforts or attempts to verify the lower prices I was telling her about. Should the Terms for Getaroom.com also apply to GuestReservations.com, then there is a very clear "Best Price Guarantee" that reads as follows:"If you find a lower room rate for a hotel room or condo on Travel Agent Site, or within 24 hours from the time you booked your reservation and at least 24 hours prior to your arrival date, we will either attempt to match the rate or cancel your reservation without penalty and refund our membership fee and any service fee paid to Travel Agent. "https://www.getaroom.com/reservations/967ed713-61f8-4ea2-89b7-8e9fd76fd8ae/terms I was not only able to find a better rate on the GuestReservations site, but I was also able to find a better rate from the actual hotel. After 3 phone calls and an email to their escalation department, they have given me no resolution. GuestReservations is a dishonest company, that misleads customers. Their representatives are very concerned about sticking to the Terms and Conditions for Getaroom.com, but they don't care to uphold their own "Price Match Guarantee". Reservation R379913****
