Fraudulent Company

I paid almost $200 for all kinds of promises should I have issues with my sofa. The sofa motor broke on the recliner. Issue 1. This claim has been ongoing almost 6 months and have yet to receive any kind of resolution offer. Issue 2, stained and cannot get out. Issue 3 dog I am temporarily caring for bit through the wire to the plug, thus neither recliner works. They take your $200 and give you nothing in return. We bought it from WCC furniture and they sold the plan to us. I told them the issues we had and they insist the company is good. Won't be using WCC furniture again either.

Warranty Service and Customer Service are useless.

My recliner on the couch broke two months ago with the recliner stuck in the recliner position. It took two weeks to get a service tech to come look at it. He said it needs a new motor. It has now been over a month and I have heard nothing. I call every Monday and Tuesday, immediately get place on hold. I usually hang up after two hours of being on hold. Ive also sent emails that to date have gone without a response. As I am typing this, I am still on hold as I have been for one hour and fifty minutes. I am also on hold at a different customer service number using my wifes phone and have been on hold for 30 minutes. This warranty is 100% useless and customer service is non-existent. If you are buying furniture because of a good warranty through guardsman, dont do it. Guardsman warranties are pointless.

Poor customer service

Expensive electric recliner broke. Tech came out and evaluated, ordered parts. After four months of waiting, cannot get anyone on the phone to answer and provide status. Waited 50 minute the first time. Another day, over two hours. at thI

Cannot get a live person to answer

Have 3 pieces of furniture needing replacement which has been deemed necessary by guardsman service tech. Stopped at the stage of speaking to someone about replacement at Guardsman. Holding time over 70 minutes 2xs within 2 days only to hang up. This added service from Furnitureland South in Hickory NC is pricey and consumer service is extremely poor. Will try calling at various times of day to get a hold of someone. Very disappointed and dissatisfied consumer.

Doesn’t cover anything

The sales people make it sound like it is a great product. When you file a claim there are so many exceptions and exclusions that in the end you get nothing. I actually had a claim approved, they came out and did a terrible job fixing it and now will not come back out. They deserve a zero score!!!

Denied claim for Haverty's sectional

Placed one claim after 3 years and was denied coverage because I did not report it in time. I called the 800 number and their hours are Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri. I called on Thursday within these hours and they just repeated the hours of operation and hung up on me. I will NEVER BUY GUARDSMAN again.

Plan is a joke!

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS FURNITURE PROTECTION PLAN!!! Guardsman is a joke! Failed on several occasions to repair/replace failed springs of our sectional piece. Technician lied to us because apparently his report said springs were fine. Also, DO NOT SHOP AT STEINHAFELS - another joke of a company! Both have extremely poor customer service! Rating would be zero stars if I could!

SCAM They do not honor their coverage

My husband and I bought an AVIATOR from Haverty's with the GOLD PLAN from Guardsman. It died out on us and according to our plan, we should be covered but they are saying one of the pieces is not covered. I tried to go to the website for our coverage that Haverty's gave me but it doesn't exist. I keep getting bounced from Guardsman to Resolution (the company the technician is from) to Haverty's. Stay far away from Haverty's and far away from Guardsman. I just read that according to Forbes magazine Guardsman is one of the top 3 franchises to stay away from. Tip for consumers: If you do buy furniture from Havertys and get the Guardsman coverage pray you dont need to use the coverage because they will not honor their commitment. So dont buy from Havertys and dont get Guardsman furniture coverage. Its too late for me. Ive been getting the run around since august.

Claim Not Eligible

I purchased a five piece kitchenette set from Jennifer Convertible in Hartsdale, NY about four years ago. Purchased a 5 year Elite Furniture Protection Plan from Guardsman with it. Just noticed that 3 of the 4 chairs are peeling and cracking. Submitted a claim online only to get it deemed ineligible. Phoned Guardsman and spoke to a representative in the hopes that we could come to an agreement for coverage. Was told the "Elite" guarantee does not cover peeling and cracking of side chairs. Unbelievable. Three out of the 4 chairs look like crap after just 4 years. Note: I do not have any children living at home. I will never buy another piece of furniture from Jennifer Convertibles (or Ashley Furniture as it's also called) nor would I ever buy another "5 Year Elite Furniture Protection Plan" from Guardsman. Very disappointed and frustrated.

Furniture cleaning warranty

This company is a fraud! We spent $500 on a warranty on furniture from Nebraska Furniture using Gaurdsman. The salesman told us we could use it to get our leather sectional and fabric sectional cleaned periodically i.e after Thanksgiving dinner. After 2 years and never filing a claim they refused to clean anything saying normal wear is not covered. They also denied the wine stains which is not normal wear.

Abominable Service! 1 star is not low enough

Purchased a sectional from NFM with a promise that Guardian would periodically clean our couch (upon request) as needed and clean accidental spills and damagefor $500. We were sold. The first time I tried to file a claim, the process was so cumbersome, I gave up. I was required to complete a form for each section of the couchthere are 5! A year, one wine stain and a new puppy later, I tried again. The claim was denied! They apparently dont cover regular soil or wine stains and I was told it was my responsibility to know the guidelines of the policy I paid for. GARBAGE! When I complained they said they would cover the wine stain only and leave my couch discolored (with one clean patch in the midst of an otherwise dingy couch). Worst service and product ever!

Mattress

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! We bought a queen size adjustable base and mattress from these shysters. After 2 years the mattress has a severe sag on one side and on the other side has several lumps. I purchased the 10 year extended warranty (we aren't even close to the bed being that old). I filed a claim in February and hadn't heard anything from them so I called and was informed that my claim was denied and that they only cover claims up to 30 days after purchase. What a rip off!!! This company should be held accountable for their deceptive practices. I will NEVER EVER purchase anything from them again and neither should any one else. We work hard for our money and we got screwed by this company. If you are looking to purchase furniture (or anything of significant value) PLEASE read reviews before buying. Again, do not purchase anything from Guardsman Furniture Professionals!

HORRIBLE ALL THE WAY AROUND

** I DO NOT RECOMMEND Guardsman Furniture Professionals ** My experience: 09/23/2021 Called Guardsman to submit claim. Was advised need to fill out form. I asked if they can email form to me and was advised could not. I was told form will be mailed to me and that it must be completed and returned within 30 days. 10/07/2021 Received form by mail. Completed and mailed today. NOTE: Email I received from Guardsman confirming receipt of my claim form lists NO DATE of email and NO DATE on when they received my claim form. Email was also sent to me in NO REPLY format. 10/27/2021 Technician came. He took pictures and made notes. Asked if he fixing today. Technician advised me he needs to submit his report for review and approval of work. I asked how long before I know if approved? Technician said usually takes a week or so and that if I had not heard back in a week that I should give them a call. He gave me no paperwork. Never received call. 11/08/2021 Called Guardsman for approval status and to see when repairs would be made. I was advised work approved and parts have been ordered. I was told will be 6 8 weeks minimum for parts to come in. I said I have to go thru the holidays without being repaired? Rep said nothing she can do Email from Guardsman states manufacturer confirmed parts ordered on 11/09 and they confirmed receipt of order 11/16. Funny how I was told on 11/08 I was approved and parts ordered. 11/19/2021 Received letter dated 11/10/2021 stating that the Guardsman Service Center has been unable to reach me and to call them. I DID NOT receive any calls or voicemails. I did call and asked why I received this letter as I have been in contact with them and was told to disregard letter. 01/03/2022 Called Guardsman and rep looked up account and proceeded to ask your parts havent been delivered yet? I replied no. Rep placed me on hold and called manufacturer and left message. Rep advised me she had left a message and emailed for status of parts. Rep said will call me once she gets update. Never received call. 01/10/2022 Called Guardsman for status and rep put me on hold and called manufacturer. Rep came back online an advised me she left message and that she also sent email. Rep said will call me once she receives info. I was on hold for an hour. Never received call. 01/18/2022 Called Guardsman and spoke with Angie. She reviewed account and gave me the same story.parts ordered and no ETA due to the worlds supply chain issue. 01/20/2022 Called Guardsman and on hold 40 minutes waiting to speak with someone and call disconnected. I called back and waiting another 22 minutes before I got a rep online -- spoke with Angie. She actually asked me if I had called on 1/18/2022 and spoke with her. I told her yes. She seemed annoyed and proceeded to tell me that no new updates and that she told me everything on Monday; I then told her that it has been 4 months and that it is ridiculous that repairs not completed. Told her I was handicapped and that recliner broke and stuck in recline position, which make life difficult for me as I have to walk around broken recliner. Angie was very unsympathetic and again blamed the supply chain issue. She said has not control because place of purchase is the one who calls and orders parts from manufacturer and that manufacturer then sends Guardian parts. Angie still sounding told me to call manufacturer myself to get an update. 01/21/2022 Called manufacturer and spoke with Sarah. Sarah confirmed that Guardsman update gave early March as ETA for parts. I asked if she was able to forward me the email from yesterday regarding update from Guardsman. Sarah advised me Guardsman does not send them email updates and they get updates verbally. The sheer number of bad reviews and complaints on many outlets speak for themselves. Using excuse of current world shipping issues is unacceptable - complaints of this type been being posted on all sites for years!! **** DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY**** I have filed a complaint with BBB.
