I represented this defendant before he was even indicted, my work helped get his charges down from twenty six counts (and out of the Federal system) to a plea offer to just one count that could have seen him sentenced to only a 1 to 5 year term and probation was open. I got him bond and keep working to do what I was contracted to do, get him a good deal. But, when I did work out a good deal he went off on me. There was nothing more I could ethical do to help him at that point. I moved to withdraw from his case (because of his actions I could not longer help him) and this motion was granted by the court. His lawsuit against me and the other lawyers unlucky enough to be in this case is a vague, rambling, jumbled, incoherent, attempt to divert attention from his real concern: his impending sentence. He goes on and on trashing me and other lawyers on line. He filed a ten page memo with the court saying over and over that the court must make me keep representing him. Even though he refused to talk to me or work with me. By the way, not one word in that memo or in the letter he sent me (all most two months) after the court let me out of his case pleading with me to still work with him about me being a “drunk”. That first appeared in his “lawsuit” filed on the day he went to trial on September 15, 2015. Let me clearly state that I have not had even one drink in the last six to seven years. Before that time I did drink socially on occasions but of course not when I was working! Because of medical problems with heart failure, diabetes, high blood pressure, my loss of hearing and advancing age my Doctors (great ones at the Veterans Admin.) told me it was better for me to not drink at all, so as I said about six (6) seven (7) years ago I stopped drinking totally.
