Paid $600 for lessons. Lessons were scheduled. Called 2days before lesson to confirm address and that is when I found out there was no instructor. Several promises to call back. No call. Promise less.

Never got a lesson. 6 lessons scheduled but only because I called 2days before to get the location did I find out there was no instructor. Lots of I am sorry and I promise but never any action. Not even the return calls promised. Why schedule a lesson without an instructor? Supposed to get a refund but we shall see. Fortunately I recorded the entire conversation.

They issued a refund and never paid

I took lessons with Go Skate and had a great time with my instructor. Upon completion, I received an email saying I would be auto enrolled if I didnt cook on the link. Its winter and I would have taken another course in the spring but declined because it was the winter. I was charged $659. I emailed them and fairly promptly, I received an email saying that a refund had been credited to my account. I waited 3-5 days to see if it would go into my account. It didnt. 7-10 days, nothing. I decided to reach out to them and after many tries, I was able to speak to Sarah. She told me she would get back to me and never did. I was told by another woman days later that it could take up to a month to be reimbursed. Several weeks later, no refund and no one would answer me at their phone, I made a dispute on my card. I was temporarily refunded while they investigated. It has been 44 days and I just got off the phone with the manager Ben and was told that he agrees that I should be paid back but there is nothing he could do. Something about a hold on their bank. He couldnt guarantee that I would get the money back. I believe I was cordial although frustrated and I cant believe a company would issue a refund and not follow through on their commitment. The best they could offer me was to take a lesson or give it to someone else. Amazing. I believe theyre a scam.

Never skated before

Original review Oct 06, 2022
We never skateboarder before. We were unsure and hesitant but glad we took the risk with a big nationwide company. The first day was scary. I wasn't sure about continuing. But my instructor encouraged me to continue. On the second lesson, I took a few slams, but the balance started to come together. By the end, I was enjoying it,. and thanking God I did not give up

SCAM!!!

I contacted Go Skate in October of 2021, and I was so happy that they could match me with an instructor right away for my son to start lessons. I had to prepay for all the lessons - $1,300 - which allowed my son to take 15 total lessons. We met our instructor and we were so happy with him. He started having trouble keeping our scheduled appointments, and eventually stopped showing up, and stopped communicating. In December of 2021 I contacted Go Skate and let them know what was going on, and they said they could match us with a new instructor, but advised us to wait until April/May when the weather warmed up. I agreed, and they said someone would be in contact. No on ever contacted me about the 8 remaining lessons. I tried calling the 1-800 number 4 times and left messages, even sent an email, but no one ever responded. Finally, I pretended like I was a new client and filled out the form online - Ron called me within 30 minutes to try to sell me skate lessons. I explained to him that I wasn't a new client and I wanted a refund to which he responded "Someone will call you tomorrow". Tomorrow came and went with no phone call. I filled out the new client form AGAIN online, and AGAIN I received a phone call within 30 minutes - this time from Hans. I was told that my request was being sent to their finance department and someone would call me tomorrow. Again, no phone call. I am extremely disappointed in this company, and their attempt to steal my money without providing the promised service. I do not recommend ANYONE use Go Skate or any of the affiliated businesses. They are awful.

Misleading company

Their website says 139 dollars for a 1.25 hours and minutes. First off it should say 75 minutes this is misleading because it is one hour and 15 minutes. Second problem this price is only if you purchase 4 lessons. That is not what is online.

Payments for no lessons

They received a $75.00 payment for my daughters first lesson. We had a conference call with the scheduler and instructor the Sunday before. The day of the lesson the instructor no-showed. I immediately called for a refund and to cancel, but was rescheduled with a better instructor. I was informed my $75.00 was being refunded and the account was on hold until we decided whether we wanted to continue. 4 days before the lesson they charged $150.00. Trying to get a refund is impossible as I was just being told their system isnt working properly, and they asked for either a PayPal or another bank account to issue the refund. Absolute scam!

Disappointing

It took a very long time for them to find an instructor, who then only showed up once and never responded again to phone calls. The company also would not give a full refund even though lessons were not possible due to their inability to provide an instructor.

Instructor No Show

This business is a scam. The instructor didn't show up on the third session and the whole training got stopped midway, and my son didn't actually learn anything but the very basic stuff. They just didn't respond to my calls and texts and finally when I called them from another number, they offered to send me YouTube videos as a compensation for missed sessions! The Money-Back Guarantee is a scam, and they never ever refunded even a dime. Worst experience ever for me and my son.

Scamers will not give refund will not return calls

I wanted to get lessons for my son, but I thought the price was too high. I gave my cc to hold the lessons but called back a few hours later to cancel. They told me there are no refunds. This is against the law in California. They are a super shady company stay away.

Horrible Call Center

This place has horrible service. I never even made it too the lessons. I had to call them several times without a call back. When I finally spoke with someone, they asked way too many questions and then tried to sell me on $800 package for skateboarding lessons. After explaining I purchased 2 sessions from Groupon, the person said he would have someone from the Groupon department call me and I couldn't book the session with him. The Groupon person actually called me and started asking me all the same questions, going thru the same procedure. He asked me how much the Groupon was for. I was driving, I explained it was for 2 40 minute sessions but I didn't have the total. He said I would have to call back then. So I decided to pull over and gave him the total. He proceeded to ask me more personal questions. I told him that I just want to book the session and I wasn't providing anymore private information and he hung up on me.

Crooks! Stay away

If I could give less than 1 star, I would!!!! I should have listened to the reviews and stayed far away from these idiots, but I figured there are always unhappy customers and let me give them the benefit of the doubt. DO NOT GIVE THESE IDIOTS THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT!!!!!! I wanted to surprise my 8 year old son with skateboard lessons, so I contacted this company. I should have known something was off from the get go. I told the man on the phone (who goes by the name Fritz) that i wanted to start off with the 2 lessons (it may have been more than 2, I cant recall) he then quickly convinced me to go for the $699 package without really giving me an option not to take it. He told me he had an available spot for the following week on a Thursday. Perfect!!! The timing fit perfect with my sons school schedule and my work schedule!!! I booked the spot, and he quickly took my credit card information. A half an hour later, I receive and email with a waiver I have to sign. Hmmmmmm weird, who signs a waiver AFTER paying? Well, I signed it because I was just excited for my son. The following week, I get a phone call from "fritz" I cant answer because im at work....Fritz texts me to let me the time he gave me is no good as the instructor has a job (ummmmmmm isn't this his job, that i already paid for?) I told him no other time was good and I really had my heart said on that time. Side note....how do you take someone's money without making sure the appt is approved? He replied to me in not the friendliest tone, asking if another day would work. Im a single mom who works full time.....another time is not going to work, I asked him to refund my money, cancel the appt and I would schedule again in the future when my schedule clears up. Well, this is when things went downhill. All of a sudden, the time we had choosen previously, that needed to be canceled, works! Wow! How did that happen!?!?!? So, I tell Fritz that unfortunately, I now have a bad taste in my mouth, to please refund my money. (I am in customer service, I would never treat a customer this way) Now, he replies to me like im one of his bros, using terms like "I said...." and "actually...." we keep going back and forth and I keep asking for a refund. Now fritz comes back with saying "technically, we cant issue a refund, as per the waiver says that we cant issue refunds if there is a change of interest". My man! You changed your mind on me!!!!! You made me sign that waiver AFTER I paid you!!!!! I screenshot emails with time stamps of when I paid and when the waiver was sent. I sent them to him and asked him to refund my money asap. No response and no refund!!! Please! As a single mom who counts on every penny I make, I am begging you to stay away from these crooks!!!!! Im disgusted. I will be taking this up with my bank. They should be ashamed of themselves. And, "Fritz", if you are reading this.....get some customer service skills classes asap, you have some terrible karm coming to you. I never leave bad reviews for companies, as I work for a small business and I know how one bad review can ruin someone, but I dont even care at this point. These idiots wouldn't even work with me, didn't even apologize. Terrible.

Conniving representative

My son became employed by Go Skate! Robert the Rep hired my son after initial phone interview, made promises, immediately wanted bank account information and a signed contract, We were very weary after reading the contract that this was legit. Not about to give them accessibility to his banking information we opted for a paper check to be mailed. My son did his first lesson and also understood he was going to have three more lessons the same week. Initial first lesson parent texted him regarding next lesson and my son still had no appointments on the calendar as he expected from Roberts verbal and texted information. After several texts questioning the following appointment bookings , questioning the validity of such bookings, we werent getting any feedback from Robert . Unfortunately for my son, he is a skater , was excited to earn a income in something he loves to do. The signed contract states you Only Get Paid After Your Second Lesson ! So he taught a pupil - who enjoyed the instruction laid out by GoSkate and doesnt get paid. Waisted his time , gas , effort, and instruction. This is a scam. Shame on such a business practice. Really deflated my son . Robert you are a piece of something.

Awful

Set up an initial lesson. Instructor changed the time on us 3 times and then we canceled some plans to fit his schedule. He decided to no show. I called GoSkate and they agreed to refund my money back and not charge for additional lessons. However they continued to charge my card every week for services that I cancelled and they blamed it on their "system". Run away.

BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! I I could give less than 1 star I would. The first lesson went well and we were excited for our 7 year old. After that it went downhill... The instructor was young and irresponsible. His communication skills were terrible as he cancelled on us last minute 5 weeks in a row due to transportation issues with his van. He said that WE could drive 45+ minutes to meet him which was out of the question due to our busy schedules. Go skate did not have another instructor they could give us and since has been stringing us along with no responses or assistance. It's so very unprofessional. I have asked repeatedly for a refund for the lessons that were not completely with zero response. They basically ghosted and I am currently out $240 for the 3 lessons that were not completed. I have reached out to the financial institution to dispute the charge but am worried we will just be out the money at this point. The person I spoke to over the phone is named Fritz. Every time we speak on the phone Fritz is very unprofessional and talks in circles. Do you need to tell a client they have a beautiful name to butter them up? Keep it to business. He had no sense of urgency to provide assistance. I have countless emails from both him and the instructor to back up my claims. Don't want to take my word for it? Read some of the other reviews. Wish we had. DO NOT PURCHASE.

Absolutely not

ZERO stars. This company is so incredibly unprofessional. I paid for my first lesson, scheduled it for a Saturday morning and the instructor NO SHOWED. I had to call the instructor several times to find out and he was absolutely clueless. Later in the day he tried to reschedule directly through him and not the company and had the nerve to ask me to meet him at a skate park all the way in LA when my preferred location is Manhattan Beach. I am paying for a service, it is not my job to accommodate you. I rescheduled through the company who had the audacity to auto charge me for a 2nd lesson when I never even completed the 1st one because their instructor never showed up. I asked them to cancel my lesson, refund me, and remove my billing info. I was just charged for a THIRD lesson. Get your *** together. I don't have time to constantly email you to fix your mistakes. REMOVE my billing information or I will REPORT you to my bank!

Cheats trying to take your money for substandard lessons

Goskate / LESSON PRO is a bunch of jerks who claim to provide lessons for kids. They don't understand what they need to do as a lesson provider to kids. They have random guys show up as instructors. Their quality of lessons and schedule is really poor by any standards. They charge exorbitant money for a really low quality service. These guys are scammers. They take your money first and the quality of lessons they provide is pathetic. Totally unprofessional business that needs to be shut down completely. Anyone reading this review , please take lessons from any one else other than these guys or LESSON PRO their affiliate company. PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW and RUN AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS.
