Bought a horse from Broken R Stables bad horsetrader

I bought a TWH mare from Broken R Stables Gene Ross who says he is a horse trainer. I bought horse for my daughter and Gene said she would be prefect for her. So I bought the mare and let her settle in I called Gene to tell him I we were going riding he told me to ride her 1st that sent up a red flag so I rode her she buck and bolted with me.I called Gene and told him he said I was scamming him and have done this before. If anyone was scam it was me. We keep our horses and he ruin our camping for the summer and broke my daughter's heart. Gene laugh and told me that I don't know anything and that we should go ride a merry-go-round. I told him I was taking her to my trainer's to prove what I was talking about.I now have her at the trainer's and have more money into her we dont need another we need a kid safe horse. It was false advertising.this the ad.And my trainer's letter. Great kid’s horse for show or trail! Published April 30, 2017 | By Gene Ross Name BUCKABELLA Breed TENNESSEE WALKING HORSE Color TOBIANO Gender MARE Date of birth 10/6/10 Height 14.1 Reg. No. 2100**** Price $1750 DescriptionThis pretty 6 year old triple registered mare is a wonderful mount for a young rider or small adult. She measures 14.1 hands and has been trail ridden extensively. Not only does she have a nice smooth gait, she is a proven broodmare. Grandsire is Spotted Allen Again and the dam is by The Pusher Man and is also spotted, so she is possibly homozygous. She is a keeper but we unfortunately have too many. Priced to sell at $1750 Diane Dodd's Professional Horse Training Center iane Dodd's Professional Horse Training Center @ddtrainingcenter To whom it may concern, My name is Diane Dodd and I am writing this letter to give my professional evaluation of a painted walking mare named Bella. Who was placed in training with me .I am a professional horse trainer, with over 35 years of experience in training equine. My evaluation is as follows. The horse in question has know training . Meaning she knows nothing but get on and ride. She had absolutely no concept of "cues". Such as stop or whoa , back up , lateral movement, bend from side to side . She was very stiff and rigid throughout her body. Her only real knowledge was to go forward. The mare tends to be a very forward or fast mover in general. A horse with those tendencies can become dangerous or out of control very quickly for a beginner or novice rider or child. It is my understanding that this horse was sold under the context of being a "kid safe" or beginner safe animal. I find that to be completely false. In the equine community "kid safe" is considered to be a been there done that type of animal. Very easy to handle, soft and responsive to cues, overall non reactivate to outside stimulation or elements that may scare or spook the animal. Where nothing really gives the animal any bother. This is not the case with this mare. When this mare came to my facility she displayed no attributes that would deem her "kid safe". She was and is more suitable for an experience rider. Not a child or beginner. If there are any further questions about my evaluation please feel free to contact me at dianedodd100@***.com or by phone at 909.967.7206. Diane Dodd

Don't buy from lynda she is a rip off

I asked lynda i wanted to buy a hirse from her and gave her my budget. Lynda sold me a mare that was supposed to be 13. When i got the mare she started to lose weight do to her teeth not being done like lynda had stated. The mare was dangerous charged my children and bit at them. She was unsafe. Ended up biting me and broke my arm after kicking me. Well i asked lynda to pay for the teeth because they were already supposed to be done, she gave me 100 dollars. That didnt even cover all the shots she was supposed to of had but didnt. the vet said he didnt think they have been done in years. The vet aged her around 20 +. I contacted lynda to get my money back and she offered me another horse. She said she woukd take the horse back its been over a year ive been waiting So i kept waiting she never sent me any information and is ignoring me all together. Ive been extremely patient with her. I was hoping she would of done the right thing Lynda is a horrible person and a horse trader. Only cares about money. Buyer be ware

LIAR - Do not purchase anything from this woman!

She is a LIAR. Sold me a horse and claimed he had papers. Gave me a BS story about how her mom had the papers in Oregon. NEVER got the papers from her. Do NOT do business with this woman. Went to court and she never showed up to discuss this matter. I got judgement against her and it has been 6 years, still nothing from her. She is not a good business person, or person in general due to the lying factor she showed towards me and the purchase of a so called "papered" horse. Warning to all; do not waste your time with this business!

I wish I would have listened, famous last words!

A horse I bought February of 2015 from Lynda Lake became very unsafe and I was taken by ambulance to the hospital with a dislocated hip and a concussion. I loved my horse though and I spent countless amounts of money and time trying to fix his "issues". After a while I contacted Lynda and she said to bring him down and she would work on him for a while, in the mean time we would do a trial run with another horse. So we went down there and had a great time trying horses that were not even hers to trade out with. We agreed on one to "try" and we went home. This mare was sent with papers that did not even match her markings or brand. It was apparent it would not work with me and the mare so I contacted Lynda to let her know. She claimed my horse was in Oregon at her brothers ranch and she could not get him back. Ok, so now I have a horse with fake papers and no bill of sale on. She has my horse that I hold the bill of sale on. I refused to talk to her on the phone and sent everything through text. I have kept a copy of everything and fully intend on suing her for the cost of my horse that is now gone and all of the upkeep on the one that she essentially has abandoned. I cannot sell the mare as papered since the ones she provided are as fake as the tooth fairy and I am not even sure if legally I am able to sell her as she has yet to give me a bill of sale. Lucky for me I have everything in writing and can back up my story. I have given her multiple opportunities to rectify this situation, I am done. She is a thief and a liar. She takes you in and makes you think you are her best friend in the world all the while she is picking your back pocket. Wish I would have never met her.

Good To Be Horsey Horse Review from Tracy, California

I bought a horse from Lynda a few years ago. The ad that was placed, her presentation of the horse were very honest of the horse's abilities. Having horse experience, I kept up on the horse's training and work from the time she came to the ranch. Best horse we've ever had, best kid's horse a person could ask for! Get compliments on her all the time from experienced trainers asking if I would loan her out for lessons. Now looking for another horse and wouldn't hesitate to see if Lynda has a horse that would again fit our family.

Extremely Satisfied

Good advice Yes there are many glowing testimonials on Lynda's web site and I am one of them. Met Lynda through ad in February 2014 when I was 70 years old, didn't start to ride till 66 yeas old. Bad experiences and serious injuries due to my being totally green about horses, lying sellers and my riding experience, just fulfilling a dream since I was 4 years old and had already been trhough 3 horses. I was totally honest with Lynda and she only had one horse at the time that would be good for me due to my now fearfulness. I can't say too much about this woman Lynda. She matched me perfectly with a horse that normally would have been way too young for my riding skills, but she knew her horse, his temperment and had trained him. She held the horse for me week after week without a deposit, gave me free lessons on him until I was sure I wanted him. I've had him 2 years now and he'll be 10 years old tomorrow, May 16, 2016. He is awesome, gentle, kind eye, wants to please, well trained and I have become a much more confident rider because of Lynda's expertise with horses. Also, it's not like this horse had a high price tag either, he was very reasonable, the least I had looked at. I have another friend I recommended to Lynda and he is very happy with his horse. I'm not anonymous, my name is Rosemarie Caddel

Good to Be Horsey - Horse Review from Anaheim, California

"Buyer beware" is often quoted with good reason. Horseback riding is well known to be a dangerous to fatal activity. I neither defend nor attack either side of any horse seller vs horse buyer situation. Independent assessment is that I personally would not buy a horse there - but she has many glowing commentaries on her website. Animals must be carefully selected, trained and handled no matter who is selling the animal.

MAJOR RIP OFF ARTIST

If you notice after further digging all of her words in her ads to describe her horses are the same... sweet, broke broke "babysitter" done it all etc. She sold me what was supposed to be just that and I made it perfectly clear it was meant specifically for very small children. Well the horse a few days later was nothing but a total pill, mean, and under saddle bucking and rearing. Lovely. I would not even let my kids groom them - let alone lead him or ride him. I hired a well known local horse trainer to come look and see what the real story was and she said the horse was dangerous and barely green broke. I hope she gets what she deserves. Karma. She frequently posts in Craigslist and other horse sale websites. Her phone number is (530) 776-**** so avoid this person at all cost.

Rope And Barrel Horse Review

Lying horse trader. Sold a "ranch/barrel" horse to a kid who had a horrible pulling back problem unknown until we got home. Thankfully we were experienced enough to resolve it. She's a snake, and even beging experienced we were still taken.

Goodtobehorsey Lynda Lake Dishonest & Deceptive Horse Trader BUYER BEWARE!

Lynda Lake is a very dishonest a deceptive business person. I notified Lynda Lake that I needed a safe horse due to previous back surgery. She willingly and knowingly sold me a mare that has a well known history of bucking. I suffered a major injury that has left me partially disabled in my left wrist. Nearly 50,000 in medical bills and 9 screws later with limited motion. Previous employees have come forward and made statements that she is as crooked as a dogs leg. BUYER BEWARE. If you have been deceived by Lynda Lake please contact me for class action lawsuit notification. People like Lynda Lake need to dealt with legally to protect consumers. Lynda Lake and Double L Ranch are top notch

Lynda and her crew at Double L Ranch are awesome. I have purchased several horses from her in the past year. I have been totally pleased with the objectivity, and feedback from her and her team of professionals. I found that they are able to help with anything you need, boarding, tack, vet, farrier, or training. There is always something happening at the ranch that is good wholesome fun. Kids are welcome, and the team seems to have a pretty good idea of what is happening in the horse community. Lynda, and her crew are very positive and are great fun to be around. Most of all there is no drama. I would highly recommend Lynda, and her team to any prospective horse buyer. No matter what your discipline or desire they can and will help you get there.

Lynda Lake is the Best!

I am a horse trainer in the bay area, and I have been doing business with Lynda for at least three years. I have bought four horses from her that I use in my lesson program and she helps me lay up and rehab my horses when they are sore. She has never mislead me in any way and has always been pleasant and helpful. She is honest about her horses and takes wonderful care of them. I probably buy her "bottom of the barrel" horses, since I need older horses for lessons, and they have all been sound and as represented by her. She does "go dark" in communicating from time to time. . . I often email and text her asking how much I owe her for boarding my horse, sometimes she doesn't answer. Which is fine with me :) Eventually we catch up and I pay my bill! If you are looking for a horse or for help with a horse, call Lynda, she's great!

Lynda Lake - Stockton, Ca Dishonest Horse Trader

Updated by user Feb 22, 2013
In December Lynda Lake contacted me, wanting to resolve out dispute. She sounded remorseful, as she repeatedly apologized for her for her conduct.

However, her new found attitude was short lived. When I reiterated to her (for the 3rd time - by phone and email) that my...

If I were the only person who has had problems with Lynda Lake, I might overlook this incident as a mistake, but that is not the case. There are several others who have filed complaints online and numerous people who have contacted me by email relating their...

Beware of a horse trader from Stockton, California named Lynda Lake. She advertises in Craigslist, Equine Now and her site: goodtobehorsey.com. She is the used car salesman of horse traders - will tell you anything to make a deal. Misrepresented the horse I purchased as 13 and healthy, when in fact he is 20, blind in one eye and has navicular. Even though our contract states I can return the horse, Lynda went completely dark after the purchase. I tried to reach her by phone and email for 2 months, even had my attorney write her a letter. No response until I posted my story about her on Craigslist. She was furious when she called but made no offer to return my $4500. I had may email replies to my Craigslist post (before she had them flagged and removed) from others scammed by Lake. I found out some terrible things about how she runs her business, including drugging of horses and selling older/lame ones to a slaughter agent. Makes my stomach turn. Lynda Lake is one to steer clear of.
