Guitar bridge broken

I'm from Brazil and I bought a Godin multiac encore 7 string guitar some time ago in Rio de Janeiro, from Habro importer, which is Godin's international dealer in Brazil. This guitar came to me without the original Godin bag. A while later I noticed that the bridge was raised and with a crack. I hadn't noticed because the seventh string covered up the defect. When I went to ask about Godin's warranty (which is on Godin's website), the sales representative in Brazil told me that it did not cover my problem because according to Brazilian law I would only have 3 months of warranty. However, the guarantee is given by Godin for problems inherent to the material and manufacturing. There is a lesion on the bridge that is not normal. It was not caused by misuse or storage. I even exchanged some emails with the Godin sales representative and the brand representative in Brazil. After a series of unpleasant situations including untrue information, the representative in Brazil said I should pay 300 dollars to have the new bridge (of course I refused that). After a mail I send to Godin they said they would bring the bridge to me (As per his informations, Godin had send me free a new bridge) It was 2 months ago. Today I received a mail from Habro saying I should pay 200 dolars to have the problem solved. It is a complete lack of respect. They are playing with the customer here. The warranty is clear there. I paid 3 thousand dollars, that's right 3 thousand dollars for this guitar, which is the simplest model second line, in addition to having come without the bag. In Brazil this means 1 year salary. I've been saving money for a long time to buy a guitar and now I'm in this situation. Three thousand dolars are a good reason to not forget and for ever remind the people involved. Ps.: excuse me for mistakes I probably made writing in english.

I’m reviewing the guitar I bought, not a Godin Customer service experience

Not a complaint. I did not know about Godin guitars until I picked one up at Harrys Guitar in Raleigh, NC. I had decided to spend <$900 on an S style, and then I played a Godin Session HT that was priced at $999.00 I bought it. So much better than the other strat-ish guitars in this price range. So easy to play. Wonderful tone at each setting- except that strange split bridge. Bridge pickup in humbucker is nice though. So happy with this Godin guitar!!!

Recieved wrong parts

My A11 is older and uses a different battery box than the two that were sent. I really don't care about the return but I do wish that some way to remedy my problem had been offered...even at my expense. I have been in manufacturing, have been an authorized repairman for most major brands in the past and a Godin dealer as well so I can handle either re-routing for the newer style box or modifying the existing box to use a different connector. I don't currently have a shop though and very little time due to my schedule so it is an inconvenience. I hope this feedback is helpful. I love the brand, love my A11 and only wish the best for Godin and all that fall under that umbrella. Best Regards, Sean Woodburn +1 54* *** ****

Strange identifications

I am sorry to be asking this help from you, but I don't know where else to turn. I bought a La Patrie guitar, ( second hand), and I love it. However I can't figure out what the model really is. The seller advertised it as a "Presentation" but it has the head stock shape of a "Concert" model. The number on the label inside of the body is, (0454********). It also says, "Presentation" on that same label. I was lead to believe that the Presentation was an all solid wood guitar, but inside this one there is a approximately 4 1/2 inch patch that has the grain going the opposite direction as the rest of the side, as though it was damaged and taken apart and had a piece of Rosewood patched to the outside side of the guitar. This is not an issue for me, as I am very happy with every thing about this guitar, but I would like to know what model it really is and what year it was built. Having had a Martin, a very high end Taylor, a Lyle, an Eastman, a couple Yamahas, a Collings, an Aria and a few others for which I can't remember the brand names, so I am not a newbie with regard to understanding these instruments. But I do like to know what it is that I have. Will you please help me? Thank you for your attention

Praise the manufacterer and solve a conumdrum.

My used-purchase of a "Presentation", (label on inside), was a great choice. Please help me understand some things. 1) The headstock is shaped like a, "Concert". 2)The rosewood side has a 4" piece that the grain runs perpendicular to the rest of the rim, seen only on the inside. The inside label has #0454********. Can anyone explain which product from Godin I have and what it is made of?

XTSA humbucker color codes

Hello again- I'm getting ready to swap out the humbuckers on my XTSA. I'll be splicing into the middle of the wires so as not to touch any of the factory-soldered connections. I'll be installing either Seymour Duncan or Dimarzio 4-conducter humbuckers. Question: Do the stock pickups on the XTSA use the same color codes as the Duncan and Dimarzios? If not, can you tell me what the the colors signify? My guess is that all 3 pickups use the same color codes. Thanks so much! Asa Fisher San Luis Obispo, Ca.

Tail piece on 5th Avenue Kingpin

My first purchase from you was an Art & Lutherie Roadhouse. I was very pleased with it and developed a desire to have a 5th Avenue Kingpin but felt I couldn't afford it. But then last fall, I came into some extra money and ordered one. I waited months to receive it but was very pleased with it when it arrived. However despite it being a jazz guitar, I'm not a jazz player and I found the action a bit high and lowered it by using the wheels on the bridge. I also have a preference for lighter strings with a brighter tone and decided to put Martin Extra Light #10 strings on as I do with all my acoustics. The problem was I had a terrible time (1 1/2 hours) stringing it because the string tips kept falling out of the bridge. After finally succeeding in getting it strung, I contacted Godin to ask why they don't use holes instead of ledge with bottom loading slots in the bridge. They didn't comment on holes in but suggested I tape the retainers into the slots to keep them in place while tuning. I had actually considered doing so but doubted it would work but will certainly try it when I put another set of strings on. What impressed me most was how quickly Godin got back to me with the tape suggestion. I have about 20 guitars both acoustic and electric and have never experienced this kind of assistance from any other manufacturer. Godin seems committed to respecting, serving and maintaining their customers. I have a number of guitarist friends and made a point of sharing my experience with all of them. The icing on the cake is Godin being a Canadian company. I used to be a Gibson fan but that ended years ago.
