Totally ripped off by Global Engines
Sadly I used this totally rip off company to rebuild the engine on my VW transporter tdi. I was in contact with a person known as Jodey and told her all about the previous problems we had had with this engine . She assured me they would do a competent overhaul and the price was to be £2800. This was agreed a cash price without any VAT. The vehicle ead delivered to them on a car transporter in October 2020. I was assured the work would be speedily completed with regular photo updates. Eventually in January 2021 I was told the vehicle was finally finished. I asked Jodey several times had it been road tested and how it ran. I also asked her what the "boys who had repaired the engine had found wrong but despite asking several times, never got a reply.She assured me it had been road tested but I asked she do another road test to reassure me. She says she did this and reported it as "perfect". With this re assurance I said I would pay the £2800 but she immediately came back and said that the price was £2995 and the £2800 figure was never agreed. She also wanted a further £100 for a new battery. I had no option but to pay the new price as foolishly I had got nothing in writing. I there transferred £3095 to another of their companies called Engine Professionals, a company with the same address. She asked I transfer to this company so I wouldn't have to pay VAT. So in February 2021 I instructed the transporter company to pick up the vehicle and deliver back to me in Harrogate.. He arrived at their premises to pick up, the "new" battery was totally flat. Eventually he boosted it off and loaded it onto his trailer. Some days later , it was delivered to my address in Harrogate, by the transporter company. Again it would start (flat battery) and had to be boosted off. When it eventually was started, the engine management light was on. Subsequently to this , after about a total of 8 miles the engine " gave up" and now will only start after perhaps 30 seconds cranking(we fitted a new battery) and then it will run for perhaps 10 seconds before cutting out . All this time the management light remains on and the low oil pressure light remains on, even in the 10 seconds it manages to run. It sounds like a bag of nails and it smokes. So , not a very competent job. I have complained to Global Engines and they say sorry, send it back for them to look at again. This I will not do as all that will happen is that they will say they have found another fault that "was nothing to do with them" and charge me a load fore money and it still wouldn't be right. I have asked "pleaded" with them just to return my money but they refuse. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE never get involved with this company Global Engines or its sister company Engine Professionals.

This company is one of the best companies to fix your cars. when my VOGUE broke down, i had told them what had happened and they had told me that they would get my car fixed in a few days. After a few days, i had come back to see what they had done and they had done an amazing job to my car and had no problems after that.

Paid for a reconditioned engine 12miles down the road coolant light came on, had to fill it up. Drove it home and did an oil and filter change the oil should’ve been clean and clear it was black and had original filter still in that’s when we noticed the engine hadn’t been touched the bolts weren’t touched the engine was dirty all they did was replace the crank (probably not even a new one) Within the 100miles of driving home the rear crank seal was leaking. Won’t answer emails

I didn't know this company before I decided to use them. I read up the reviews online. I almost blindly made a decision to have my X5 recovered by them to their workshop after a couple of phone conversations. My X5 was photographed on arrival and I was already quoted a price prior to recovery. I paid the deposit. I was also informed that my car will be in a queue. To be very honest I was worried about my end bill at this stage. Global Engines and Gearboxes kept in touch with me throughout the whole process of having my engine rebuilt as well as both turbos. One my X5 was ready I was asked to come in to collect it. I was told to run in the engine for 2000 miles which I did so. I returned to Global Engines and Gearboxes to have a service and a check carried out. All was well. I'm very happy with the work carried out by Global Engines and Gearboxes and I do recommend them. My end bill was only a coupe of hundred of pounds over the original quote, to me this was perfectly acceptable and reasonable. They do what they say they will do. I now consider Global Engines and Gearboxes as a great contact and friend. Thank you very much Global Engines and Gearboxes.

Global engines are the most worst company going had my discovery in for a engine change paid and collected the car drop be it 5 minutes up the road and it went bang started knocking and banging badly do not use this company attal they are absolutely cowboys they claim to have completely refurb the engine but I had it looked at a professional garage and they confirmed none of the mentioned parts were brand new as they claimed they also changed my coolant tank bottle when. There was nothing wrong with my one what so ever untill it was in there garage they wouldn't accept it wasn't a random failure and demanded £200 extra

Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 Engine
my range rover 4.4 broke down 2 weeks ago while i was coming back from Brighton. i called the AA who recovered me back home with bad news my engine had ceased up. i searched loads of company's online and inputted my information for quotation, i got a call from global engines and gear boxes who gave me a slightly higher price than average which was £7995 and that's with fitting. as you can imagine i was pulling my hair out. when speaking to global engines they invited me down to show me exactly what they do because i just didn't quite understand. i was over the moon with how they dealt me and kept me constantly unto date. as i mentioned before they were not the cheapest but they certainly are worth every penny i spent. my car runs like a dream and i couldn't be happier. this is a prime example of you pay for what you get and cutting corners on something like a car just inst worth the gamble.

I recently purchased an Mercedes sprinter and just within a month the engine broke down. I was really gutted with what had happened and started to browse the internet. I found a few companies and started to make enquires. When I came across Global Engines and Gearboxes I consulted with them and they were very helpful and received a very fair quote to rebuild the engine, They arranged collection of our vehicle and kept us informed of progress throughout the whole rebuild process. Global engine and gearbox ripoff Hello to everyone if you are thinking to do your car with those people you better not you will regret i had bad experiences with them they done my Range Rover recon engine i paid them £3000 before i pay they told me there is big hole on my block i have to pay additional £700 and they was lied they have old block they show it to everyone same thing to get more money I took my v5 with the number wasn’t match the block they have shamed they scratched my car cracked mirror and car makes stupid sound and I can’t even sell it is been parked for 4 months now they don’t answer the phone they don’t care There is guy work there his name toni he is only a cleaner they said he is manger they are a lier really ripoff my case at the moment with trading standards if they don’t do anything for me i will be after them forever to get my money back they mess up with wrong person! Cowboys Wait and see how you going to pay me back.. please avoid do not do even for free!!!

Excellent service My Range Rover drives lovely
I had my Range Rover engine work required and Tony took the job. They recovered the vehicle and took care of everything. It was a big job so took a few days. I had to make a few calls to them to find out what was happening and they kept me informed. Also made some advisories which were really helpful. I received it back yesterday and drove some decent miles to make sure everything was fine. Everything was the way as it was supposed to be. Overall yes I am happy and will come back if similar work is needed.

Global Engines collected my Range Rover from Manchester
Global Engines collected my Range Rover from Manchester to have an engine reconditioned. I was given a price for the reconditioning plus recovery. The recovery driver turned up the next day, he was very kind and helpful.They talked me through what they were going to do and what they would charge and I felt that I was in safe hands. They delivered. When I picked up the car it was working nice. I seemed as if it was more dynamic after the recon, it might just be me though. The MPG definitely increased though. I was really impressed at how big their workshop is.Highly recommended and would use them again for any work related to engine. Thanks Global Engines Team.
