Booking

I was offered a gig through a scammer who opened up an account with GigSalad. Once he reached out to me I notice strange request that didnt add up. So I call customer service and was advised it was a hacker. GigSalad customer service was awesome in resolving the issue.

Unable to satisfactory resolve disputes

Gigsalad didnt resolves a disputed service to the satisfaction of both parties. Even though I provided the service, gigsalad is expecting to refund the client of their money. Gigsalad is a ripoff.

My performer was a no show.

I searched for an impersonator through Gig Salad. Athen Reich the lady Gaga impersonator connected up with me and said she did Celine Dion and we worked out a deal for Video. I gave her half up front through Zelle. When I didnt get my video and I havent been able to reach her I called Gig Salad and wanted them to reach out to her and see what was going on. All they kept saying is you didnt pay through us so we wont refund your money. I got that. So you better make sure you read the fine print. They let people on here that can scam you

Personal experience

Did 6 month membership, kinda slow going for awhile, but eventually got a couple very nice gigs which ended up paying at least 4x the membership so that is a win. In general, all worked well including payouts. Lack of initial responses could easily be me being new and refining my profile etc. Currently not a paying member, and I guess my only complaint is that I've received only one event notice since then, despite me having 5 star reviews. Overall a positive experience and I will probably renew at some point.

They Have very Unreliable Staff

My experience with Arabella Espana, one of the Gig salad Dancer was very disappointing. I booked her way advanced and paid in full in October for December 31, 2019. She also confirmed our reservation a few times in November and December .. I thought this was sure thing and we have our entertainer for new years eve to start at 9:00 PM. . However, she texted me at 7 PM that she is cancelling our event. I called her right away and asked why. She replied with a very nasty attitude that another party offered her more money and she is going to that party instead of mine. Imagine, for a few dollars more, she cancelled her previous booking which was paid in full only a couple ours before the event. I was very embarrassed in front my gusts. She is an embarrassment to Gig Salad and will ruin the reputation of this company. No one wants to book any entertainer with GigSalad anymore with staff like her. She did not even apologize for her last minutes cancellation and rudely hung up me. My Advise to all" DO NOT BOOK THIS DANCER". SHE WILL Stand YOU UP >;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; If zero star was available i would give minus zero ANT MY FULL REFUND for the money I paid. Let alone with aggravations that they cause me

Until I mentioned the word "Fraud" then they gave me a refund.

I paid online to be a Featured Vendor for 3 months. After 1 week they froze my accounts because I dared to make a polite, verbal complaint to Megan Price, the customer experience rep about not wanting to deal with a particular condescending staff member, Shannon. It took another week and a lot of calling and emails and being hung-up on until I finally emailed Megan Price: "doesn't the word 'fraud' occur to you" and mentioned telling her bosses about the fraud.... and then I got a refund. The thing is, even after a thief gets caught & decides to return the money.... he still goes to jail & gets a criminal record! You don't get to just walk away from your crime because you returned the money AFTER you got caught!!!

If I could give less than 1 star I would! HORRIBLE!

If anyone else has a complaint there is an investigation being conducted into GigSalad in particular as well as a more in depth expose on "buyer beware" of online companies that have a questionable reputation. Email: consumersunitedreporter@***.com

I would hate for anyone else to get burnt by gig "ROTTEN" salad. Take an hr or two & do your own in depth research first. You might just save yourself a lot of grief. Be wary of Gig Salad posting it's own 5 star reviews about themselves and news articles written by employees hired by Gig Salad to appear as if they are legitimate, unbiased news stories praising the CEO Mark Steiner. I found this out by clicking on the reporter's name and it showed the reporter worked for Gig Salad. This is the article; "An interview with Mark Steiner by Tessie Barnett "

Profits above Customer Service

GigSalad.com isn't willing to put people above profits. One of their entertainers cancelled on my event at the last minute -- after being booked & paid for 2 months -- simply because they negligently double-booked. The entertainer (a Santa Claus hired for a party for children) made no effort at all to make it right. GigSalad's "worry free guarantee" is nothing more than a refund. When a vendor waits until late in the game to cancel, a refund doesn't create a "worry free" outcome. We don't need a refund, we need a last-minute Santa. A company that provides this type of service is only as good as the talent they contract, and GigSalad isn't willing to stop advertising for a vendor as long as they're making them money. As a business owner, I know that anyone I contract to serve my clients is an extension of my business. Sadly, GigSalad doesn't subscribe to that line of thinking. I recommend considering a more reliable option before booking with them.
