Profiteering from COVID19

Updated by user Apr 16, 2020
****** Update 16 April 2020 *******One of my bandmates called Gigmasters (they won't let me call because I'm too pissed). Gigmasters said "next year, we will talk about offering you a reduced annual fee" but they refused to give a dollar amount, so I assume its one of...

****** response to GIGMaster's March 20th reply below*****We Vendors are in this crisis for MONTHS, and you offer TWO WEEKS? Despite your elegant words, your actions prove that YOU ARE PROFITEERING ON THE COVID19 virus, making Vendors suffer the entire loss. And, the...

Original review Mar 17, 2020
When COVID19 hit, all of our jobs cancelled. Since large assemblies of people were banned at the local/state/federal levels, we were not getting any new leads or bookings. We asked TheBash-Gigmasters to "share the burden" and suspend our account for a couple of months, and let us reinstate with the same account credit later. They refused, saying "you can suspend your account, but will continue to debit your annual membership". In other words, THEY CONTINUE TO MAKE PROFIT FROM VENDORS DURING THE COVID19 crisis. (By the way, their competitor GigSalad offers this "suspension" feature with no hassle to the vendor.) Avoid TheBash-Gigmasters . Vendors are at the bottom of their food-chain.. They even sent all Vendors a notice, "encouraging" us to refund non-refundable deposits for the cancelled events (which we had already done), "so customers can use it for a future booking". TheBash would have Vendors pay ALL the burden for the COVID19 crisis, not customers, and certainly not The Bash. Their greedy Profiteering shines through!

Do not use gigmasters

Gigmasters started out fine. We got calls for our style of music and weddings and events. Now because of whatever system they have ......the gigs are worthless offering no money, we never get a return call or email...even when what they describe fits us perfectly. Something strange is going on and this will be my last year with them. So far I have responded to over 40 gigs and have not even received one email back.

Gigmasters is what it is-Entertainers

I am a Santa Claus Vendor. I do not understand any of the complaints. As a self employed business person, it falls on you to read everything when you sign up. Not only to understand everything but also to set up automatic payment to your checking account. I have had to call twice, they are polite, cheery, and helpful. I of course only work in December but I have 4 gigs with gigmasters in the last ten days.

Horrible

Would never book anything through them again. My bartender never returned my emails or phone calls and I had to find a new bartender a few days before my wedding! They are refusing to give me my refund and they have horrible customer service they tell me they will follow up with me and then no one ever calls.

Bad experience

I am an Elvis tribute artist.I have only received 2 shows in 3 years.THey have told me to several time to branch out father i went up to 3000 miles and receive the same type of service means no hits.I received a gig in cleveland ohio.me and my crew drove to perform a show just to find out that the person that that hired canceled me and found someone else.I had just enough money to get back to michigan.I was pissed but I never was paid gigmasters said nothing about.that it was my fault.I have cancled my site and refuse to go back to them.

Auto Renew Scam

I have been with Gigmasters for 5+ years. I decided today that I just didn't think it was worth the money anymore. I sent a request to customer service to cancel my auto renew, as I feel the site is overcrowded with vendors and is not worth the membership costs. I was told that I had to contact them via phone to stop auto renew. What web based company has no way for a member to cancel via the web. This is a scam to try and get you to stay a member. No thanks and never again. I believe my credit card company would have something to say about you charging my card after I notified you to cease.

I've heard Gigmasters is a scam.

I've heard rumors Gigmasters is a scam and i'm inclined to believe it more recently. They have an annual fee and a monthly "featured profile" both paid by automatic deductions from your debt/credit card. When i recently told them i didn't want automatic deductions they told me i couldn't cancel them! Is this even legal?

2 years 1 gig

I have been with gigmasters for approx 2 years. I have had several leads, and just recently received my first gig confirmation. For me, gigmasters has been very helpful in so many ways. I haven't always done my part so I can't very well blame the company for my lack of confirmed gigs. I'll fill you in more after my coming gig. I'm uncertain when I will be paid, or how I will be paid. Time will tell. I am sorry y'all have had issues. There are many other sites available for a fee to find gigs. I wish you the best. M

Rip off - experts at finding their way to your pocket.

I had a BAD experience with GigMasters. I joined Gigmasters in november 27th 2016. sudenly i relized that it was a mistake to sign up and deactivated account. I called and tried to reach someone which did not work then went online and deactivated account. 11/27/2017 - got a charge again from Gigmasters for renewal. I called and sent email asking to cancel my account and refund my money. I recieved email from Andrea Gorotiza Account Specialist 866.342.9794 stating that she was sorry to hear that i would like to cancel my membership. she did not cancel my account and now i recieved another charge from gigmasters on my credit card. i do not why its not easy to get rid off a blood sucker like gigmasters who are just sucking poor hard working folks blood for something that we had no interest in it anymore and can not get rid of it. i was charged more than $1100 and not a single benefit or call.

Waste of Money

I am an internationally known speaker and thought I might pick up a few extra engagements through Gigmasters. In a year I received zero. I think this is for people just starting out. Not professional speakers with experience and a reputation.

I am a member

Gig masters is a terrible platform! They do not have an app therefore using a cell and updating your profile is a complete disater! You pay a yearly fee to be apart of a poorly built platform and they charge you per event you book. I’ve booked one event and have been a member for about 4 months now! I do not reccomend wasting your money!!
