Received card with no money on it; no response from GCR

Purchased LOFT Gift Card but it had no balance. Returned it, and received an email saying that they will take 3 weeks to investigate. I had called LOFT and they told me the card was used in Oregon before I purchased it. Looks to me like they knew they were closing and sold bad GCs to get as much money in the door as possible. I haven't received a response from Gift Card Rescue. They don't answer their phone. I think they're out of business. a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a

Tell your story to authorities.

You all need to contact the FBI internet fraud department in Maryland. You all need to contact the Attorney General for the State of Maryland as well it is there job to police companies like this that scam people. If you don't tell the authorities they will continue to not be held responsible for getting away with ripping you off. Most of these companies that rip people off continue to make excuses that they didn't receive your card or the check is in the mail. It is nothing more than a ponzi scheme. Can you imagine the owner who gets free gas cards everyday putting free gas in his card, Food cards to buy his meals and clothing cards to buy the latest cards. They can afford to "sell" cards and receive money and send cards out with no value on them. Now that is free cash so he can go on nice trips or pay bills with your money they never had to give you a card for. Please tell the authorities so this guy can live in a prison.

Terrible Service - significant money lost.

Updated by user Jun 24, 2016
They do not have a physical store. If you have a problem, they will ignore you until they can say it is too late to resolve. Absolutely do not do business with them

This company should be out of business. I highly recommend that you never do business with them. Their idea of customer service is a total scam. They have a policy about timeframe for refunds and they simply don't respond to email or pick up their phone until the deadline has passes at which time they tell you that you are too late. I bought Lowe's electronic gift cards for a large project. Lowe's deemed them fraudulent - they never issue electronic cards for refunds - and refused to accept them. I have done business with gift card rescue for many years with satisfaction. They used to have an excellent customer service staff and policy. This is no longer true. Be wise - avoid them. You'll see many complaints at BBB (F rating) and other sites.

Review in Shopping category from Elizabeth, New Jersey

I mailed my gift cards to giftcardrescue via USPS with tracking, as required in April. I have been waiting over two months for my money!! I've sent countless emails and was told the check was in the mail, and that I should get it any day. When I didn't receive a check, I sent another email. They claimed that the check must have gotten lost, and they would have to cut a manual check, and I would receive that in 3-5 business days. That was 19 days ago, and no check!!! I called the phone number provided on their site and for the first time, actually got a person on the other end. He now tells me again, that my check should get to me in the next couple days. This site is a scam and they need to be stopped!! They are stealing from people and getting away with it!!! Absolutely appalling!!!

Giftcardrescue.com stealing money and disguising it as the issuing giftcard company changing their policy

I purchased a $202.23 Lowes gift card from GiftCardRescue.com (GCR) on December 11, 2015. I placed an online order at Lowes.com on Jan 16, 2016 that left a remaining balance on the card of $138.21. This balance was last confirmed by Lowes in May 2016. In February 2016, Lowe's made a policy change that required all Merchandise cards to only be usable within the brick and mortar stores going forward and required the physical gift card be used. It took two months of back and forth discussions with representatives of Lowe's at their 800 number, by email and with numerous layers of management within my local store to determine that this policy change had occurred. After determining this, I followed up with GCR by email on March 19 asking about the physical gift card to which I received the following response on March 28th: "David, We are aware of the policy change. Unfortunately, we were not made aware until after the change had taken place. However, we have taken steps to rectify the situation. We can ship the physical card out to you so that you are able to redeem the card in stores. ..." My response on March 29, 2016 was: "It would be very helpful if you are able to mail me the physical card..." I then had to follow up again on April 12, 2016 due to lack of response. This email chain to date was using the Contact Us mechanism within the GCR website. After still not receiving a response into early May, I sent an additional email directly to their customer service address asking for an update to which I received the following response on May 12th: "We truly apologize for the experience you are having with your order M4UQ. Your request has been received outside of our 24 hour refund period. A supervisor must review your request. Any refunds offered will be applied to the GiftCardRescue.com account associated with this order. Attached is your refund request form. Please complete the refund request form and send it to the information below. Once your documents are received we will pass this along to our supervisor. You should be updated with within 7-14 business days after your documents have been received." It is important to note that I have never once asked for a refund...I only asked for the actual card that I had already purchased and was told by GCR was available. I repeated this request in my response but played along and filled out the refund request form, submitted it along with over a dozen other documents as evidence on the same day of May 12th. On May 17th I was asked to fill out another different refund request form which I again played along and submitted same day. Again due to lack of response I asked for an update on June 9th and was then told that my request was denied due to being outside of the refund period with no response to the original request for the return of the gift card. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will likely be filing a small claim case against them.

Giftcardrescue Hollister Gift Card Review

Try to call them about an electronic gift card that I bought, try to use it it did not work. I could not get in touch with them, spend about 25 minutes calling multiple times and every time they hang up the phone not a single answer from them. This is by far the worst customer service ever. I will not recommend buying any gift card from this website.

TERRIBLE customer service

I ordered gift cards. For security reasons they were not shipped until they verified who I was (I understand that). Still didn't ship cards. I called because their e-mail contact us (customerservice@***.com) does't work. They don't answer the phone during hours. When I finally got to talk to Benjamin, I needed to e-mail more verification (in which I did). There was no verification sent stating they received it. I called again. No answer, again! Finally, I got a hold of Benjamin, again. He told me he would send the cards today (same day). That didn't happen. They still have't sent the cards!

Gift Card Fraud

I bought a gift card from them and they sold me a card with 0 balance. On dispute they say I should have disputed in a day. What a *** is this? They sold the gift card to someone else and now wont refund me the money. I have purchased giftcard with other online stores and never had this type of issue. Amex wont refund the amount as well. It is better to buy from some other company and if you plan to use the card right away after you get it, then only buy online. Some cards are just fraud and these companies will sell you the card and then take the money out immediately and you are stuck with a card with 0 balance. DO NOT BUY FROM GIFTCARDRESCUE.COM...

4-3-16 Another Fraud Complaint against Gift Card Rescue

I sold two gift cards to Gift Card Rescue (GCR) for a total of $225.00 and mailed them 1st Class Certified on 1/23/16. Tracking showed del'd to GCR on 1/29/16. Once this company has your cards, they make communication with them virtually impossible. As of 4/3/16 I have still have not rec'd my payment from them. I recently filed a complaint with BBB of Greater Maryland and with the Attorney General Office here in the state of SD. The latter advises that a complaint may also be filed with the United States Postal Service as GCR uses them to subject unsuspecting consumers to their fraud. GCR specifically suggests that gift card sellers use the USPS to mail their cards to GCR by 1st Class mail. GCR then eventually (weeks later?) notifies customers by e-mail that their "order has been paid" and that a check will be mailed in 3-5 working days. The customer is deceived in to thinking that a check is on the way when that is not the case at all. Weeks may go by before the customer realizes they've been duped. When customers are then actually able to reach someone at GCR (which is almost impossible) or when they receive a response via a complaint they may have filed with Better Business Bureau, the standard response from GCR is something like "we are sorry for the payment delay that is caused by the many orders we are processing" (more likely all the complaints they are receiving) or "a check will have to be reissued". They frequently imply that the very USPS service they recommend be used to send cards to them is now so totally incompetent that they seem to lose many of the payments they are sending to customers thus having to reissue a check. Thus, the postal service gets used as a scapegoat and is an integral part of their fraud to solicit gift cards they have no intention of paying for. In my case, they sent me an e-mail on Feb 25th (almost a month after receiving my cards) indicating my order had been paid and a check would be sent by 1st class mail in 3-5 business days. That did not happen as of today 4/3/16. If you have experienced a similar situation, file a fraud report with your local police department. They may refer you to your state Attorney General Office although you can file a complaint on-line directly with the Maryland Attorney General Office which is the state where this company is located. You can also file an on-line complaint with the Greater Baltimore Better Business Bureau within whose jurisdiction Gift Card Rescue resides. Also consider filing a complaint with the United states Postal Service. You may wish to file a complaint by phone but all have links with which you can file an on-line complaint.

Stole my money and horrible Customer Service

I ordered two BP gift cards months ago from Giftcard Rescue. The site states that these cards are valid at Arco. I tried to use them at the pump and with a cashier and they are not accepted. After calling many times to Giftcard to complain and get a refund i was told to fill out a form and file a complaint through email. This took me 8 calls to get someone to pick up a phone. This is very normal for them. You can call for weeks and no one will pick up, I sent the form and the cards. After waiting weeks for a response and calling calling calling again. I got someone on the phone who said oh I dont see it returned but we check returns on Friday. Call me on Monday and I will have an update for you. I did call back and after 5 tries the same person picked up the phone and had no idea what I was talking about. He remembered nothing and said nothing in the system states anything and has no idea what I am talking about. I got pissed he said a manager would call me and i have never heard from a manager or anyone on the phone since. I have not been able to get anyone on the phone either since .I have since got an email stating they have the cards and will conduct an investigation and get back to me. I have called again and again and emailed and nothing. I have emailed the CEO twice Kwame Kuadey and still nothing. They have my two cards and Aprox $150 of my money. I am looking into small claims court now. HORRIBLE COMPANY

GiftCardRescue - Gift Card Review from Washington, Missouri

I have send many emails to giftcardrescue and called many times. They send me an email requesting some documents to sign over my gift cards to them. They were so quick to keep sending me emails to finsh up the process of signing over my gift cards to them As soon as I send them the required documents to them, that was it, my emails and phone calls got ignored! I have already spoken to a lawyer about this and I have all the proof I need to take the next step! They also have very poor customer service! I will never deal with this company again! This seems to ke like a big scam and a rip off! My order number is NPPM if anyone in giftcardrescue reads this, which I doubt because they never answered any of my other inquiries in the past!
