HIDDEN FEES

Was online booking a room at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Ottawa Airport. Rate was $169.00 per night. When I got my confirmation email the charge to my credit card was $270.00. $95.00 in fees and additional charges. This is not acceptable. No resolution when talking to customer service. Hidden fees - beware. When I go to the GetARoom.com page and try to book this hotel - it is $125/night with $21.00 in additional fees. Granted this is USD which would convert to $198.00/night not $270.00 NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!

TERRIBLE customer service TERRIBLE resolution if an issue arises with your hotel DON'T USE GETAROOM.COM

I was searching for a hotel via Kayak.com and ended up booking THE RAMADA BY WYNDHAM in National City, CA. Unknowingly, I was redirected to getaroom.com. I didn't realize I was booking my room through them until I received my email confirmation. They are the WORSE company to deal with. The room we booked was so ROACH infested we could not stay the night there. I was able to get management at the roach motel promise me a full refund but they could not because I booked through Getaroom.com. Getaroom.com did not agree to give the full refund, only a partial refund. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING GETAROOM.COM. They will not help you if a problem arises with your hotel. Instead they will say you agreed to their "terms and conditions" at the time of booking. TERRIBLE COMPANY to deal with. I spent hours on the phone with them. Supervisors there are no help either.

Cancellation

I made a reservation thinking i was on hampton inn website. i called hampton inn to cancel and was told I had book thru a third party I cancelled thru my e-mail confirmation within 30 minutes. I am now being told, no refund. I am so upset, my husband has cancer, we just found he needs to go for another MRI, I can't leave him and now out over $300.00. I was told I need a doctor's note. My husband does not need this stress. Cancellation #439647**** case #0403****

Question about invoice

I have booked the Hilton in Jupiter, Florida and you instantly charged me 1.760,18. The invoice from the hotel is 1.293,94. So I have paid 466,24 to much and I cannot claim the 1.760,18 from my employer, because I only have an invoice about 1.293,94

Deceptive Booking Practices

On August 3, 2023, I booked a room at The Beeman Hotel in Dallas, TX on behalf of an executive. The reservation was made online on what fully appeared to be the hotel's direct website. It was not until August 11, when I called the hotel to modify the reservation, that we became aware that the reservation was not made through the hotel. It was made to a third party; a third party to which we did not have a name. We had no idea who took our money. Upon learning this, I called the number listed on the email confirmation and after much prying and back & forth with the representative was I able to learn that "Getaroom.com" was behind the deceptive and quite frankly fraudulent booking practices. After over 15 mins of discussion, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After holding for another 18 minutes I was ultimately disconnected. I called again and was put on hold with no greeting or acknowledgment that the call had been picked up. I called a third time and was told that I was unable to be connected to a supervisor that that time because she was busy with an influx of calls - not surprised at all! I ultimately canceled the reservation with penalty (no refund) and requested the matter be escalated and hopefully get a refund. After taking a closer look at the website used to book the reservation it became evident that Getaroom.com hides behind the name of "Guest Reservations" where the URL reads www.guestreservations.com/[name of hotel] which under any reasonable standard could not be called anything less than deceptive.

Scammed. They are horrible!!!

I have a particular hotel where I like to stay when in Nashville, TN. I googled the name of the hotel. I thought I was on an official website. I entered the necessary information including my credit card info. The next thing I know is I got a message that my reservation was pre-paid and there are no refunds. I've stayed with this hotel chain for years and I am familiar with their cancellation policies. Some hotels give the option of saving a little money by pre-paying but I never choose that option because my travel plans change sometimes. I called them to cancel and get a refund and the employee was very rude in denying me a refund. He told me that the cancellation and no refund policy is in the fine print. They offered to cancel but they wouldn't refund me. They disguise their site to look an official site and don't provide any visible warning of their cancellation and no refund policy. Despicable!!!

My friend got scammed by Getaroom.com

Do not use 3rd party agents. Was tricked into believing the actual hotel was taking the reservation.

My friend needed to cancel her reservation 10 minutes after she made it. The rep said she would be charged over $168 on her card "according to policy" and there was nothing my friend could do. Most hotels have 24 hour cancellation policies. This was 10 minutes later and her card was immediately charged. Most hotels wait until you check out. I learned that the hotel had no hand in this. I recommended to my friend to call the State Attorney General as well as file a report with the Federal Trade Commission. The company that owns Getaroom.com is Booking Holdings in Dallas. It had or has a Class Action lawsuit opened in 2020 for these and similar complaints and was cited by the FTC in 2017 for the same. Add your voice.

They are scammers

I got charged $852.00 for a room that was suppose to be $537.00. I didnt complete the reservation when I saw the fees. I got charged anyway, even though I NEVER confirmed the booking. They refuse to give a refund on what they stoled from me. I called immediately and the lady refused to let me talk to the owner/manager so I could try to resolve this issue. NEVER book with these thieves. I went to the hotel website and these are the horrible people I got. I am in the process of doing a chargeback now.

Last December, I made a good faith booking for a hotel in Israel through a booking company controlled by Getaroom.com. Shortly thereafter I called to reschedule the trip and was told that there was a no change/no cancelation policy for the reservation. Looking at the fine print, I saw that while the booking was made on December 22, the cancellation cutoff date was actually set at December 21 which makes no sense.I have contacted the hotel which assured me that they had no problem making a change.Getaroom.com refused to honor the hotels agreement to change the reservation date and charged me over $4,500. No integrity or consideration for customer service.

Scam! Stay away!

Scam! Did not know I was on this site. Thought I was on the Aloft Delray site. Thought I was checking prices and the next thing I know I have a non-refundable, no cancellation reservation of $616.37 FOR ONE NIGHT! Billed to my AmEx. I am fighting this and if need be will involve a lawyer and/or the NJ Attorney General office.

We have been demanding a refund from them for well over a year and they refuse. Issue: Hotel they booked us in was an absolutely horrible place..broken windows/no screens/mosquitoes/unbearable noise

They refuse to refund ...latest response was 6/29/23 OURS HAS TO DO WITH ABSOLUTE DISASTER OF A ROOM, WINDOWS OPENING AND THE HANDLE CAME OFF IN MY HUSBANDS HAND..MOSQUITOES IN OUR ROOM AND ANOTHER MAIN ISSUE WAS CONSTANT AND PERSISTANT NOISE COMING FROM OTHER ROOMSLOUD, CONTINOUS PARTIES IN SEVERAL ROOMS - NON STOP NOISE PREVENTING US FROM OBTAINING ANY SLEEP AFTER TRAVELING FROM THE UNITED STATES. THIS EMAIL FROM YOU THIS MORNING IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. WE WANT AN IMMEDIATE AND A FULL REFUND FOR THIS DISGRACEFUL TREATMENT. WE DID NOT PAY A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS. CONTACT THE HOTEL, GET THE WAIVER AND CREDIT CARD OF PAYMENT IN FULL. nHI. IT'S BEEN A DISASTER FROM START TO FINISH. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY OFFER CANCELLATION UPTO 24 HRS BEFORE BUT: - no confirmation email was sent to me so I can't access the details to cancel - they took nearly $600 dollars more from my credit card - why? - I couldn't find any details of them on line - how to cancel - the hotel can't cancel for me - it has to be through getaroom - I have emailed them (they say 24/7) but no reply - I have to pay $2 to get to a specialised tech helper to help me resolve my issue (no issue - just need to cancel) - 24 mins on hold to USA to try and talk to them. Lucky my husband is a lawyer and we will be suing them if we don't get to be able to cancel before the 24 hours. I have honestly never written a review - let alone a bad one - in my whole life. Hours of precious time trying to resolve. I hope they get back to me so I can say something good in the end.

SCAM!

Booked a room with CCI hotel reservations- when I went to the hotel the room hadnt been paid for - which meant that CCI had withheld the money. Fortunately my bank were able to refund the £608. Ive emailed countless times and email always returned. Also number is not in use! Beware when booking rooms!!

Cancel / refund

Reservation Confirmation #R417511**** we made reservation on 4.28.2023 cancel 4.29.2023 when we realized we book the wrong hotel and wrong place. so we cancel right away and just thought like any hotel reservation that it would be refund. we now notify that this was non refundable? we have never had any issue with any site not refunding in error. please reconsider and refund us. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.

Charged a cancellation fee on a reservation made by mistake. The hotel charged me nothing and waived the cancellation fee but getaroom.com charged me for the night’s stay.

We were on the road, it was late, and I hurriedly made a reservation for a hotel in Mt Pleasant, TX. Unfortunately instead of the hotel chain website popping up on Google, getaroom.com did. But instead of Mt Pleasant, TX, I was booked into the same hotel chain in Mt Pleasant, MI. I called the hotel in Michigan and they kindly cancelled the reservation and waived the cancellation fee. But get a room.com charged me for the nights stay and refused to refund my money. I literally tried to cancel within an hour of making this reservation.

Scammed

I booked a hotel stay at the Wingate by Wyndham on their website for less than 200.00. Only to find out that they have a lookalike site and charged me 300.00 after the fact with no refunds. After I realized I had been scammed, within 5 minutes, I called to cancel. They wouldn't. I called my bank and started a charge back to which they rebutted and sent my bank a screenshot of their cancelation policy! This should be illegal and they win with my money!
