KIA SPORTAGE 2012 ENGINE EXPLODED IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC ---------- December 21, 2012 I bought a KIA Sportage November 12, 2011 in the Dominican Republic, less than 10 months of purchase, 14,000 Km (8,750 miles) the car engine exploded November 15, 2012. These pistons have holes in them. VIAMAR is the representative of KIA in the Dominican Republic said they are not responsible for the explosion of the motor. Since I got the car, I have had several problems; this also happened to many people in different countries with KIA and Hyundai which is the same manufacturer, same engine, using both brand names to sell more cars. They told me that the car has no guarantee because I did not make the last OIL CHANGE in the dealership. KIA Motors Company did not make intelligent decision by doing the right thing and taking responsibility for the factory defective motor. It has been six months and still not solved, I am still pursuing the matter, the Court will decide. I had no choice but to hire a lawyer to defend me. Your company sells over 1.4 million vehicles in 2010, your Net Income was 3 Billion dollars, you have dealers in 172 countries and you rank as company number 318 globally in July 2012.
