Class action lawsuit

Updated by user May 25, 2023
Multiple phone calls and emails ignored by listed contact.

Original review May 25, 2023
In 2014, a federal investigation into retaliatory practices at the Aloha Auto Group subsidiary, Kauai Motorsports, concluded that retaliaton against an employee led to his dismissal. This action occured because he informed fellow coworkers about their rights to report workplace discrimination. As a customer, I've witnessed the corruption first hand. I've been coerced over a year through verbal and physical threats by the repair manager of Kauai Motorsports. Intimidation tactics included being told to never come back on the phone by the service manager. When I arrived to pick up the repaired scooter for the third time, he screamed *** YOU' at the top of his lungs in front of two staff memers. One ringing me up and the mechanic standing behind him. Larry then lunged towards me from the other side of the service counter. I was forced to retreat and leave the building immediately out of fear of physical harm. After Larry's coworker joined me outside for a peacfeul discussion, I consulted the general manager. He defended the action by his employee before giving me the name of a local mechanic. The fact that Genuine Motorsports does not honor their 'industry leading' two year warranty is common knowledge of Kauai Motorsports management as revealed in discussions on numerous occasions. Yet, management continues to carry the product. This ongoing act makes them culpable for creating a scenario to scam customers on a remote island when parts are not even available. Aloha Auto Group and Genuine Motorsports management coerced me into removing a negative online review last year. This was done in order to honor a warranty for a blown engine on a one year old Genuine Roughhouse Sport with less than 1500 miles. A new engine was sent from Aloha Auto Group to Kauai Motorsports after months of negotiation. I was ecstatic and agreed to the terms of removing the original online review because it was the only option offered. This occured before being informed about the $800 labor charge to install the warrantied engine. I was almost injured on a two highway when the crank rod sheared in half. This occured 100 miles after Kauai Motorsports performed the factory specified 600 mile maintenance required to maintain the warranty. The scooter was inoperable for four months as a result. The service manager blamed the oil pump and the company and provided non manufacturer suggestions to add oil to the fuel tank. It's now apparent that this organization and Genuine Motorsports have committed fraud on numerous occasions. Seeking other customers to voice their concerns about fraudulent practices of these organizations. Being stranded on the side of the road after a catastrophic engine failure without roadside assistance being honored, coerced into repairs equal to one half of the value of the vehicle and physically threatened are what to expect if purchasing a Genuine Roughhouse from Genuine Motorsports.

Fraud

Do not deal with Carolina Fun Machines anymore. Tim is making his mechanic break down your scooters for his profit gain. He is ruining your companies name. Genuine is the best scooter I've ever had. Tim made my scooter breakdown which led to it being stolen. I bought another from Great Western. Tim is a liar and a theif!!!

You have a guy, Eddie in warrenty, two thumbs up!

The guy listened to me. He seemed a bit humored when I told them what was handed to me as a warranty by my dealers. Its why I only deal with the dealer by me... because I have no choice. And why I thought I would call main company first. Eddie said he would send the dealer the part. I'll call the dealer next week and have it put in. (the stand for my roughhouse as it bent on both sides and I was not in an accident and I am not heavy (165 wet)) I mean besides the fuel gage sticking this is scooter is beyond my expectations and looking forwards my next bike being your hooligan 170i. Anyway I continue to be impressed by the scooter and want to thank Eddie and genuine. There is a Mary L there that is just fantastic and responded immediately to my warranty questions. I mean IMMEDIATELY. like wow good.

Mainoffice warranty guy Eddie deserves it

I had honest questions I needed honest answers to and then depending on the answers I would need additional help. I left a message, within 8 minuets I get a call back from the guy who's message said this is Eddie in warranties and I'll call you right back. Wow I don't know why but since covid I get lousy responses wherever. I get a call back, this is Eddie. The same guy that said he would call me back. He listened to me, I explained how my dealer does business, he understood why I called main office. and hey I need the dealership buy I would avoid if I could. Eddie asked me point blank if I was in an accident. I was not (my dealer just would not fix.) Eddie is sending part to my dealer I will call the dealer next week to see if the stand bars came in and Ill head over for my 1,800 mile. get my sticking gas gage fixed at same time. just a pleasure to have real customer support. hey come out with a Maxie

Lied to cheating out of warranty service plan

I've been waiting for well over a month for now for the gage indicator and they keep giving me the run around! For the past month since June,10. 2022 they have made me numerous promises, to correct this issue, and haven't delivered anything yet. First it was the electrical aspect of the bike. The bike kept turning off in the rain. They made a fuse swap and exchange the fuse but that didn't correct the problem only after a few attempts. Then, now the gage indicator is malfunctioning as I write this. Then, the muffler was recalled do to manufacturer defective part. It fell apart on me in the middle of the highway on my way to work.

Poor customer service on replacement parts for merchandise

I've been waiting for well over a month now for a part, the gage indicator. They keep giving me the run around on that part! I've been waiting since June 10th for this part, and they keep telling me that the part was back ordered. When I bought this Rattler 200! Scooter, I was promised the world on parts and delivered absolutely nothing yet according to the warranty. They still owe me $150.00 for road side assistance in which I was swindled out of it! Bad business!!!

Scooter at dealer for over a week. Waiting for damage report.

Estimated costs likely $500-$1000. Legal recourse.

Left stranded on side of highway with warranty loophole as the reason for lack of advertised roadside assistance. 2021 Genuine Roughhouse 50 that appears to have factory defect that led to catastrophic failure at highway speeds. Narrowly avoided injury on two lane highway. Authorized seller bemoans lack of service from Genuine. Leaving customers with $3000 in expenses for a lemon of a product that fails around 1000 miles under normal use. 600 mile service completed at Kauai Motorsports for $149. Buyer beware.

Finding parts and service in Boston Ma.

We had a Genuine dealer in South Boston,Ma . They closed down and now we Genuine riders are left high and dry for service and parts in the Boston area. Pity too lots of scooters in this city. Pick up that slack.

Buddy Scooter

I bought a new Buddy Scooter in October 2020. I bought it from Wild Hogs Scooter in Lake Mary Florida. The manager Chris Clark and the mechanic Matt have been great. The problem, three times since purchasing the Buddy, it has not started. Wild Hogs has it towed in and it will start, with a little coaxing (their words). I just picked it up again, the cleaned the carburetor and fuel filter. Matt said it was dirtier than he would expect on a low mileage scooter. Each time I bring it home, it runs great. Than a couple of months later, same thing. The man who tows for them cannot start it either. I want to be clear,Chris and Matt have worked hard to get me back on the road. I want corporate office to have documentation of this. The inconvenience of having it towed is getting old. I wanted you to know, if this continues I believe I should get a new Buddy 50cc Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you. No parts and many problems!

I will never buy another Genuine scooter because when they discontinue a model you can no longer get most parts for it. I have a Blur 220i and need a new fuel pump -- the dealer says it is NOT available!
