Useless Rino750

I live in New Zealand and Over two years I planned a hike to the Canadian Rockies. I wanted a robust reliable GPS for the hikes I planned to do. So a month before I left NZ I went and bought a new Rino 750 for $1,100. After arriving in the Rockies I hiked about 45km in roughly 3 days, added a number of waypoints for key places I visited and saved them each day, some of the waypoints were needed to back track to get out of the areas I hiked into. Well on day 4 I turned on my Rino 750 only to final it apparently has reset itself all my data and waypoints are wiped, despite having saved them at the end of each day, when I touch Add Waypoint I get a database error message, and the device will not turn off when the power button is pressed. It will also not load any of the maps I had been using and spent $400 purchasing for the trip. Ive removed the data card and maps and tried to restart the device with out any success. To say Im disappointed is an understatement. Im now stuck in Canada with a useless device with 4 days before a leave to start a 3 week Alaska trip that I was depending on the Rino for. The product is so incredibly unreliable and my advice to anyone considering purchasing one is dont, they are garbage.

Awsome experience

Had a problem with my garmin mk2i dive watch, called customer support, dealt with a gentleman named stephen, ...should have got his last name. Was knowledgable, pleasant, and motivated to resolve my issue. Answered every question, resolved my issue without any complications or inconvenience to me. I have never had such a pleasant experience with customer support!!! 10 stars to garmin, who seem to be training and hiring individuals with good people skills and making sure that the customer actually does come first!!

Might as well tried calling the moon. No Help! Business is that Big & Good. What about service or Help!

Add courses to S2 watch

Because I'm old (80) and my watch is old, I get no one on one help anymore? I'm told my S2 golf watch is only supported online and that it may, (either it can or can't), just tell me, I can handle the truth (just don't jerk me around). The customer service person I talked to (who couldn't get me off the phone quick enough) sent me instructions that he said might or might not work, he wasn't sure? It didn't make a difference because I might as well been reading Chinese. I copied and sent to my younger son (the head IT person for RTD in Denver) and he said he understood them but could see why I didn't. I bought my first golf watch (S1) many years ago, and it still tells time but like my S2 I can't download golf course information, what a waste. I used to be proud to say I had a Garmin golf watch, and now not so much. I just won't say anything because I was taught "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all". I have an S4 that some nice person gave me and I guess at some point I won't get course info on it either, but I guess that's progress. I know at this stage in my life I don't need all the info that comes on your newer watches, I just need distance to the green. One last thought; I play an average of 3,18 hole rounds a week, year round. About 150 rounds a year. I turned 80 this year and have shot my age or better many times and have 11 HCP. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings (not sure anyone will) A one time customer. Charles Wiland cawiland@***.com 720-203-****.

Garmin Service Rocks

Original review Sep 01, 2023
Broke the transducer bracket 2 times on my dime. Told West Marine about it and was told nothing could be done. 3rd time it broke, it took the transducer with it when I was running in the bay. The CV 20 Transducer is big and heavy. Not in production anymore. Called Garmin explained what happened and received a new type of transducer and heavy-duty bracket. Well done Garmin. Service and product are the reason I always come back.

GPS is not giving me the right route

I know for a fact that my GPS is sending me out of route because it sends me about 6 miles out of route going back to my terminal. I was wondering if it is sending me out of route When I don't know where I'm going. I realized the directions in the system are old, is there a way to update the system.

I have purchased new system and it’s performance is very much suspect. As a professional driver I opted for the latest in its release and the DriveSmart 71 app is not at all even close to performance

I have better and more consistent performance using google The so call DriveSmart 71 is a joke In heavy metropolitan area traffic it goes off on a tangent that I cant explain I have missed delivery appointments as the system takes me way out of my way I am going to have to look at Rand McNally First time leaving Garmin products in over 20 years Something is going wrong with the 71 app

Garmin golf watch is not near as good as old one.

new Garmin does not switch holes automatically like Garmin series 1. New Garmin Approach S12 you have to tell watch what tee box you were teeing off from. Older one new where I was teeing from. Gave old one to friend and I am asking him for information all the time because it is better. Got new one because watch band broke and could not be replaced. Does not read correctly. 3 watches and 2 say right information and my new one is different.

Not as useful as my older model

My GARMIN DRIVE 52 is potentially a dangerous device. I tested my new GARMIN by driving from Springfield, MO to a cemetery in Raytown, MO. After the cemetery, I was going to a restaurant in Independence, MO. The trip to Raytown was uneventful until I varied off the route calculated by my GARMIN. Instead of recalculating as my old GARMIN would, the device kept telling me to turn around, or get on back-roads that might take me back to the recommended route. Once I was in Raytown, MO, I found myself in the wrong lane to turn left towards the cemetery. Garmin thought a road improvement had been completed when it actually had not been started yet. My trip to the restaurant in Independence, MO was brought with suggestions to turn around, and when I finally arrived near the restaurant, GARMIN had me in the wrong lane to turn left, so it included an incorrect right turn and an immediate u-turn. The trip back to Springfield from Independence was fought with numerous instructions to turn round, which would have headed me back towards Kansas City. I know the Kansas City area well, so I left I-70 west to go south on Highway 7. All the way from I-70 to US-50 the device kept trying to get me to make a U-turn back towards I-70. Eventually, as I approached US-50 my GARMIN actually told me to enter US-50 going west back towards Raytown. I ignored GARMIN and took the ramp from Highway 7 east towards Warrensburg , MO. Soon after I was going east on US-50, GARMIN recalculated and the rest of the trip was uneventful. I say this device is dangerous because had I been in unfamiliar territory, GARMIN could have easily guided me into a dangerous area. If I must know the roads in, through, and around my destination, who needs a GARMIN???,
