Freedom Mortgage FAILED to pay my insurance and it was canceled!

Freedom Mortgage acquired my loan from my previous lender which I was very happy with. Since they assumed my loan my mortgage payment went up almost $500 a month AND they failed to pay my hazard insurance so my provider dropped me due to non payment. They refused to reinstate me. Now I'm being threatened with a more expensive insurance and less coverage, courtesy of Freedom Mortgage. Also, since my policy lapsed due to Freedom Mortgage's negligence, I'm having a hard time finding coverage. The kicker! Now I'm being informed I have to have TWO policies, including one for fire coverage. This company is a scam and if you read today's news, The Consumer Finance Protection Board Fined Freedom Mortgage $1.75 Million For Illegal Kickbacks! Just look them up. They have lots of successful suits against them for various reasons. This company is TRASH. Avoid them if you can. I pray my loan is sold to someone who is more competent than this company.

Freedom Mortgage does not apply payments made to our loan

Freedom Mortgage took over as our loan service provider 2/2023. We have made payments on time, every month using our online billpay process (same way I have paid our mortgage for the past 15 years). Although our bank shows the payment was processed, Freedom mortgage does not apply the payment to our account and says that we are not using the correct account number (I have verified the account number multiple times). In order to have this resolved, my bank has had to get involved on several occasions. They have also said I must submit my monthly bank statement to them to have it resolved - information that is clearly none of their business. In addition, the payment history listed on my portal does not accurately reflect when payments were made and has changed over time (in the last month, my history for April is suddenly different). I've never experienced anything quite like this. Freedom Mortgage might be the worst company I have ever had to do business with.

Terrible company

*** company. Don't deal with these idiots, please. They won't talk to the surviving spouse about the mortgage even though all legal paperwork has been filed with them 7 times since the mortgage holder passed away. TERRIBLE company.

Insurance Deduction on Escrow Balance

Unfortunately my loan was sold to Freedom Mortgage, they requested me to show proof of insurance multiple times and upload proof thru a different website than theirs which I complied, I was deducted later a total of $1,400 from my escrow, I had called before sending the documents and even after, they told me over the phone that my insurance was ok and then BAMM -1400, no response after, customer service is bad, I hope I can rid of them ASAP. Really not recommended!

Bad experience

DO NOT RECOMMEND FREEDOM MORTGAGE! Used them for initial house purchase. The website is not user friendly and it is difficult to find documents for tax purposes. When I had questions regarding my initial loan, it took days to get any response back. Recently completed a loan assumption (brother in law was taking over our existing loan) which was a nightmare. We started the initial documentation in early January and just finished the final loan assumption in late June 2023! They dropped the ball on countless occasions throughout the process. Stated they never received documents although we had fax confirmation on each one. They set extremely short response intervals for documents we were required to provide however they exceeded the time limit for their responses on numerous occasions. We closed on the loan assumption several weeks after the final deadline (set by Freedom Mortgage) while having no delays on our end regarding paperwork or documentation to provide. We would constantly get the run around in terms of who was responsible on their end of taking care of certain parts of the loan. They would consistently transfer you to another department and later claim that the person we were trying to reach had been out of town but didnt notify us of this on the front end. We repeatedly would get no response back when asking questions or submitting documentation and would finally have to suggest we get a loan attorney involved in order to get a response. There isnt anything constructive or positive I could say about this company. They are very disorganized, unresponsive, have lack of empathy for the situation (process took literally 6 months), and did very little outside of delaying every step as much as they could do avoid assumption of the loan. DO NOT RECOMMEND FREEDOM MORTGAGE!

Terrible practices and customer service

I wish I could give them a zero. My taxes and insurance went up $600 per year. Freedom mortgage raised my house payment more than $600 per month! When I called their customer service line, they were rude and argumentative. Still, no one can quite explain why this big hike in my homeowners insurance is necessary for escrow.

Horrible Customer Service, no contact and endless pursuit of remedy without results

There was an issue with my statement and essentially there was a change in my mortgage payment and i was not informed. This caused a delay in my normal payment, which resulted in Freedom sending an automated derogatory notification to the credit bureaus without event contacting me or informing me there was an issue. As a result, my perfect credit score that I've built up over more than two decades is completely ruined. At no time whatsoever was there any attempt to contact me to review the payment issue. Worse yet, when I called the customer service numbers on seven different occasions, I was told there was nothing they can do and to submit in writing what occurred. I did this and waited for weeks only to receive an automated email saying, upon further review, they would do nothing. No conversation, no appeal, no meeting... nothing, just automated messages. This is by far the worst organization I've ever had the misfortune of doing business with. Had they not purchased my loan from my former lender, I would not be in the horrible situation. This is by far the worst company I've ever done business with. Stay far away and tell everyone you know that is considered them to not do business with them. By the way, I am a disabled veteran and this situation has completely destroyed my family's ability to get any type of financing now.

Escrow review error

I am a 100% VA Disabled and pay no property taxes. After aprox i year with Rocket, they raised my mortgage payment $300.+ dollars for an 'Escrow Shortage".. I called and we went over this 3 times over about 3 months. They acknowledge my Tax-exempt status and the faulty escrow analysis but STILL INSIST I owe the extra $300+ for the month of April (i month only). I am now being told they will "try" to remove the late fee and I should call back in a month to check on the 'Late Payment status"... I WILL SUE THEM IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT..
