Extend rental

Original review Jul 18, 2023
No way to reach customer service, I was over charged but theres no one to help! The only time I was able to reach someone is when they sent me an email threatening collection for their overcharges. When I called them someone named Lisa Shaw answered. She wouldnt even listen just went on and on and on just shutting me up sir! sir! sir.. terribly rude and nasty customer service!!!

Lost item

IMy EZPass was left in the van I rented. I have emailed the location which was how I've been instructed to communicate with them. It has been 8 days, no answer. Called another department that emailed them. No answer. Called customer service today. Told me they would email them and for me to call back in 2 hours. This is absurd! Terrible customer service. D

JA4AD3A33KZ035529 Lien Release

Hello, I recently purchased a vehicle on Feb 17th of 2023 in The State of Alabama from a company known as American Car Center. A week to the day , American Car Center fired all their employees and declared bankruptcy. They never went through the process of registering the car in the State of Alabama in their name. They illegally sold us a car that they themselves did not own. Suffice it to say , we didnt get a bill of sale or title registration so that we could even register the car in our name. This is because they didnt have it. The reason why I am contacting you is because according to the Secretary of State DMV department, where the car is currently registered, your company is listed and the names on the Title and The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A is listed as the lien holder: I need to speak with someone about releasing the title to us or releasing the Lien on the vehicle so that my wife and I can legally register this vehicle since it is in our possession and are driving it. Please call me and please help us with this situation. Thank you for your time and efforts in this matter!!

Customer complaint

Extraordinary high cost of fees, with two separate one-week extensions because of medical issues. No consideration for the customer. Rep did give me a $100 credit, but someone can do better. Ive always used Fox Rental and even have another reservation in the system for August. Would be better if they would waive to fees and just charge for daily rate. Thank you

Reservation of mine was cxld without notice

My reservation was cxld without notice and only learned after arriving at the counter. This was apparently done due to my having mistakenly double booked the rsvtn. A few days prior to travel i rcvd a FOX welcome an get prepared email for the trip. All fine. Shocker at the counter and had no outlet. How can a company be able to program for two reservations to automatically cancel rather than just one dupe? How can their programmers ignore the need to advise a client of an existing booking at the time? Airline software does not allow double bookings for an account/name. Total lack of respect and just a means of controlling for when they have overbooked and they don't have enough cars to fulfill cnfmd reservations. The counter guy offered me a car at his "best" rate for what was 3x-4x what i had confirmed for the week. Other outfits i went to the rates were better but after all the insurance "fine print" where the smaller off airport locations do not acccet a credit card's included insurance without some absurd charge to waive it. Others don't even have the waiver and want another $30-$40 a day else no wheels. I cannot believe FOX can run a business turning a blind eye to customer's confirmed reservations. I want all costs I incurred in order to secure a car covered by them as compensation for their ignorance and alley way tactics. This FOX operation could think of themselves as "sly" but they have no business operating out of "in terminal" locations. To try to speak to anyone higher than a telephone rsvtn agent on a call is impossible. Without a changed business plan, this car rental company should be avoided like the plague. If they make amends, I'll advise such.

Toll fines

They sent me tollway of .78 with a fee of 15.00 which I pay then fox car rental sent me another tollway fee for 3.12 and 15.00 fee.

DEATH TRAP

ALIGNMENT WAS SO BAD I THANKED GOD I WORKED OUT, THE ONLY WAY I COULD KEEP THE BLOODY WHEEL STRAIGHT INSTEAD OF LANDING INTO ANOTHER CAR OR A WALL! NOW, I GOT A TOLL TICKET ON THE CAR THEY WERE TAKING BACK TO THEIR SHOP! THEY GAVE ME ANOTHER PIECE OF JUNK, ENGINE PROBLEMS, NOT STEERING, TOOK THE FIRST WINNER BACK, GOT A TOLL TICKET, SINCE, IN THEIR INFINITE WISDOM THEY NEGLECTED TO TRANSFER MY INFORMATION TO THE "NEW" CAR, IT REGISTERED TO ME. AND NOW NO ONE WILL SPEAK TO ME ABOUT IT!!!

They owe me $911.41 that they will not refund.

On July 21st, 2022 I reserved a car from Wisecars.com, phone number is 646-813-****. My reservation number is 2957****. The reservation was to pick up the car from 8/27/2022-9/05/2022 from Fox Rent A Car. The agreement was to pay $296.45 immediately to Wisecars.com for them booking the reservation, and then pay $181.72 when I arrive at Fox Rent A Car. I was not supposed to pay any more unless I choose to add any options when I signed the agreement. The only thing I agreed to add to the agreement was to pay for prepaid fuel when returning the vehicle. I declined all extra insurance, as I have insurance with Capital One when renting a car with your credit card. After we returned the car in Fort Myers, Florida, we returned home. Later I got the bill showing that I owed them $911.41. They changed the rental agreement and said that I rented the car from 8/27/2022 and that I was supposed to have returned the car on 9/03/2022. They charged me for two extra days of renting the car to 9/05/2022, late fees, and they added that I owed them for rental insurance. Also, when we arrived at the Orlando Fox Rent a Car to pick up the car. We waited in line for exactly 2 hours. This caused us to miss our dinner reservations at the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show, which cost us $227.87. The manager nor the company could care less about how long we waited in line. Nor the fact that we lost out on the $227.87 on the show. Customer service is the worst I have ever seen in any company!!!

Renting with foreign driver license on 04/17/2023 @ SFO

my reservation # is WFX062AC19, to be picked up at SFO night of April 17. I am American citizen but have a validThai driver license in english with photo. Will be paying with my AMEX credit card. Do i need to get international permit as well? Thank You

We were charge 100 dollar’s in service fees for 30 dollars in tolls

Charges of 15 dollars every toll we went through we would have paid up front to avoid if we knew the tolls could not be paid on the highway .

Billing issue

Check in attendant quoted me a price for a slightly upgraded car which was only a few dollars more than my contracted car. I agreed to the upgrade, but when I got the bill, it was more than double the priced I was quoted. $40 per day for 7 days in addition to my $32.84 (266.50/week) contracted rate. When I was picking up the car I asked the attendant how much more the car would be and she said I can get you that car for 280 dollars for the week. R/A LAS-128****. They also grossly overcharged me for prepaid gas. $90 at the quoted rate of 3.94/gallon = 23 gallons. I left the tank half full. Was not told would be charged for a full tank. I would never have agreed to this bad deal if it had been presented completely and honestly. Ive never had a worse experience renting a car.

Never received email confirmation

FOX is cheating their clients

Rented a car in LA (Burbank), submitted insurance provided coverage for Damage Non-Owned Automobiles (limit: $40,000 per occurrence). FOX still charged me $119.96 (for 4 days). They told me that my insurance doesn't cover the damage to their car. For sure that's not true. For 2 weeks I am trying to get my money back. Initially, they offered me a 50% refund but when I refused and demanded a 100% refund they told me that the maximum they can offer me is a store deposit. Plus they charged me $115.29 in taxes!!!

Refused refund on cancelled rental car.

In July, I made reservations through Expedia to rent a car for a week from Fox arent a Car. There was nothing indicating that it was a non refundable rental. My husband ended up getting sick and we had to cancel our trip. I cancelled the reservations more than 48 hours before having to pick up the vehicle. Expedia customer service contacted Fox, but they are refusing to give us a refund or a credit towards renting a car at the end of the month.
