Flagstar misplace $420,000 and won't reimburse my expenses in a timely manner.

My home burned down and I had to give my entire insurance check to Flagstar to rebuild. They lost the money by placing it in the wrong account and now will not pay me for expenses totaling $17,500 that I paid out of pocket. I believe they are making it as hard as they can so they can stall and make interest on my nearly half a million dollars. They should be sued by a group of people who they have done this to.

Insurance Claim

My house burned down in November. I sent in my claim check in April, they applied the funds to the wrong loan even though I wrote the information with the check. They have had $420,000 of my money and I can not get reimbursed for my $17,500 bill that I paid out of pocket to have the rubble from my home taken away. I have spent over 6 hours on the phone and every time I call it is like the first time. I am starting to believe that this is a scam to earn interest on the money that is mine. To say they are completely inept would be too generous. I think they are scammers and criminals. Since they misplaced my funds, they should have instantly fixed it, instead it has been 6 weeks with nothing. It may be worth getting other people together in a lawsuit if this is their MO.

Terrible mortgage servicing

My mortgage was transferred/sold to Flagstar Bank and I have not been impressed at all. They wanted to CHARGE ME nearly $800 to have them NOT pay my home insurance through the escrow. Why would I pay them not to provide a service? If I've paid for my own insurance and have provided them proof of insurance, then they should lower my monthly payment to reflect the fact that I don't need them to hold my insurance payment in escrow. They certainly shouldn't CHARGE ME to have them stop taking and holding my money each month. Additionally, their payment system is terrible. When you try to schedule out your autopay, it won't let you set a date in the future that goes beyond your current statement. That's stupid. I put in a one-time payment for the current month. Why do I then have to wait and log in again at some future date to enroll in autopay for the following month? Perhaps they're trying to protect people from setting up autopay and then missing a payment... but people should be able to figure out that if they set up their autopay for a future date, they still have to cover their current payment. It's a stupid system. The information provided on their website is also bare bones. I much preferred UWM's interface. Not impressed w/ Flagstar Bank at all. Oh, and their automated phone system is a time waster as well.

Someone scammed me!!! No funds available; people can order checks underneath your name. Be very aware, the company has no precise customer service information.

UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES

On September 20, 2022, Airbnb took $427.04 from my Flagstar Bank Account. I moved out of an apartment I was renting through Airbnb on August 30, 2022. I paid the final electric bill and had a final inspection on August 30, I received a handwritten receipt from the person that did the final inspection. Flagstar Bank returned the money back to my checking account after I filed a dispute with them. Dispute # 1704**** More than 16 weeks have pasted and Flagstar takes the money back out of my account again. I spoke with a banker on the phone and was told that Airbnb submitted a lot of documents. I have asked Flagstar Bank for a copy of the document that gave Airbnb the right to take money from my account when I already have moved from the unit. Flagstar Bank has not given me the requested documents or the reason the money was taken from my account again. I followed the same procedure I had done earlier when leaving a unit before the schedule date, however this time Airbnb took money from my account although I had already moved out. I desire to see the document that Flagstar Bank used for their reason to debit my account again. And the money should be returned back to my account asap. I have given Flagstar Bank all the supporting documents, the receipt for the final inspection, the notice of moving I gave to the host, and the statement showing the money was taken from my account.d

This is a terrible bank for a mortgage. They understand estimated my escrow twice in less than three months totaling nearly 11k.

I had a mortgage through Chase and this never happened. No only did they underestimate my taxes they calculated my pmi incorrectly and didn't pay my home insurance the first year I bought my home. Avoid this bank at all costs.

Flagstar Website Access for Mortgage Payments

Good morning, My name is Andrew Norris and I am a United States Marine. I am currently stationed in Iwakuni Japan, but I own a house in Pensacola Florida. Flagstar Bank is the servicer for the mortgage on this property. When I try to access the web portal to make payments on my mortgage I get an access denied message with error code 1020. This may be because my IP Address is a Japanese IP Address. If I try to rely on mailing checks Payments may frequently be late due to the amount of time it takes for U.S. mail to get to and from Japan. If there is any way to access the website to pay my mortgage online from Japan. Please let me know.

DONʻT GET INVOLVED WITH THIS CO

This Company has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY Use SNAKE methods to RIP YOU OFF- EXPECT to be dealing with a company that has NO MORALS & UNETHICAL practices should you be unfortunate enough to have to deal with them. I would rate Minus stars if that was an option! Charge you for nonexisting things [like ʻdriving by your house] and Fees they make up for no reason-Double dip on collecting payments-their records are ALL screwed up-thay are a MESS!!

Cannot get in touch with customer service representatives. was on the phone for 30 minutes and when a someone answered they placed me on hold for another 30 min just to transfer me to the right department

Terrible systems

I have had the displeasure of having to deal with Flagstar for several years with a loan. We had an insurance claim on the property with the loan and we had to send the insurance check to Flagstar to get it endorsed and sent back. It's been almost 3 months and I still haven't gotten the check back. They are completely incompetent. Each time I call to get an update, they cannot find my name on the loan, even though my name is clearly on the loan. Of course, if we defaulted on the loan, they would be able to find my name. When I ask to be transferred to someone else who can find my name, they refuse to do so and say that they cannot help me. It's ridiculous how difficult it has been to resolve this issue. On the random and lucky instances that they find my name and are able to "help me", they assure me that "the check is in the mail", but I still have not received the insurance check back. I cannot wait to be done with this loan with Flagstar because I will NEVER do business with them again.

They are useless

They kept an insurance claim check for nearly a year, even though we sent them all the information that the requested, even though not required in our original mortgage. The only way that I am getting it was to refinance to another company. Do not use their chat feature as they cannot answer any questions. The response is always we do not have access to the information that you need. Speaking with a live person is the same. They started their own insurance company and claimed that my current insurance was not good enough. Sent snail mail and email almost every other day about their new insurance company.

Horrible customer service

I had the displeasure of dealing with their rude customer service rep Jesse today at around (3:15pm central time 10/21/2021). He has such a horrible attitude and was exasperating throughout as if any request I made was a bother to him. His communication was very poor and the call took much longer than needed with awkward unexplained silences throughout. At one point during the call he was so frustrated that he clearly cursed out loud. When he realized that I had not hung up yet, he had tried to ask if everything went okay. I said "yes" and politely asked if he could hang up so I can complete the survey at the end of the call. He paused and let more time go by without hanging up. I insisted that I wanted to stay for a survey a 2nd time before he finally hung up. Please only hire people who actually want to help and not unprofessional hood people like him. Flagstar can go back and find this call if they care at all to take any measures to improve their customer service. Thank you.

Flag star is trying to force us into for closure after a fire by not releasing the insurance money needed to rebuild!!

Our house burned down in may of 2018 and our insurance was great, settled our claim and paid the damages to Flagstar as they still hold our mortgage... Its now been OVER THREE YEARS and we STILL haven't been able to rebuild our house even though the funds have been provided because FLAGSTAR has been stalling us and jerking us around, playing games with OUR MONEY in the hopes (we presume) that eventually we will run out of money and be forced into forclosure leaving them with our property!! Every time we call we get a different CS rep, can't ask to speak to anyone else and have to start the story all over with a new person every time!! Also, every person we speak with wants us to jump thru a different "hoop" saying they need this or that paperwork, or they lost the paperwork or they only printed out the first page of a 20 page document, etc.... They take weeks to respond to anything (if they respond at all!) they send inspectors that say we are at 20% then the next inspector ( after we've done even MORE work) comes and says we are now at 15% (how does a whole floor being framed, after the 1st said we were at 20%!, make the building be LESS COMPLETED?!?) When they finally did issue a portion of our build money, they "accidentally" made it payable to the WRONG NAME!! Then we had to mail it back, wait 5 weeks for them to get around to writing a new check, the when that one never showed up tbey claimed it had been lost in the mail! THE SHEER GALL OC THIS BANK IS APPALLING!! We were forced by financial hardships because of this mess, to live in a 28" RV thru one of the coldest winters in Anchorage in 50+ yrs (-22 deg!) and we are too old for this CRAP!! I am a chronic pain patient w/severe osteoarthritis and too disabled to work, but I don't even get the relief of my temperpedic bed because I have no house to put it in!!! Our insurance stopped paying for a rental after one year and that was over TWO YEARS AGO!! As of today we are still paying the monthly rent on FIVE storage units every month with all of our possessions in them and that alone is more than an apt rents for!!! They have all the time in the world to wait us out and we desperately need HELP as this is a CRIME!!
