Discrimination

I was followed around and intimidated by members and staff. Lied on. Disrespected. Actually stalked by a African American female employee she's about 6'3 light complexion. Short hair. At the location in Oceanside 7/30/2023. She also falsified a membership termination request. She signed my name. When I tried returning today to work out they called the police. Two Oceanside Police came in two cars.

0 no wonder everyone complaints, my daughter have been trying to cancel for a very long time. If you go in-person they tell you to call. When you call it ridiculous because you can't speak to a live

To cancel my membership Ive been blocked because you mske it impossible for someone to cancel even though my daughter and i never been there. I will get a lawyer if you dont stop charging me for nothing. Then you make me sign a consent form to actually talk to someone. When can I just get a live person!!!

Complain about membership

I called regarding my Fitness 19 membership that I purchased in 2008. I have been a consistent member and paid my monthly fees on time every month. Furthermore, I was told at the time of enrollment that classes were going to be held at the location I signed up for which was in Wildomar California. That never materialize. However, it appears that information was wrong, and they want me to change my membership, pay more to attend other facilities that offer classes. That is not going to happen. I will take my business somewhere else. Fitness19 doesn't value their customers, Shameful!

I cancel my membership n still taking money out of my account fitness 19areabunch of thieves I work hard for my money thats not fair.I recommend people not to sign up with this club

I joined in 3-2022. I got a trainer for 3 months. I explained about my disable daughter. The day we decided for was changed 4xs. I saw on my account that they are still charging me $34 a week. I went in talked to manager. Explained what the trainer and I agreed on. I explained I was stopping it. Asked for office number, to stop all charges. He just said they will take me to court.

Caregiver Policy for Silver & Fit

My son is autistic and has Silver & Fit through Medicare. On S&F website it says " You can bring your caregiver to help you". I visited four gyms in my area looking for the right gym for my son, three of the gyms said there would be no problem with me(caregiver) coming in and working out with him. However, Fitness 19 in Riverside, CA told me I would need to purchase my own membership, I told them I had a membership at another gym and asked if I would be able to come in with him just not work out, and I was told I would not be allowed on the floor without a membership, she double checked with the manager that day. I left annoyed, and called back days later to speak with a manager was told he was not there, I left a message a week ago and he hasn't called me back! I just want to know what is your policy regarding this because my son requires 24 hour supervision and will not work out if I'm not at his side. Telling me I could not come in with him is like telling someone in a wheelchair that they can't take it on their workout floor, this is his disability! I have debated on getting my own membership here but feel you are discriminating against this type of disability. For now we're at 24 hour Fitness which has welcomed us with open arms!

Complaints

My complaint is cleanliness. It's very dirty, floors, equipment, n mirrors. Ceiling fans haven't worked in months. Too much talking among employees n not enough using free time 2 clean n keep supplies stocked. I'm planning on joining a different gym. When classes r in session sometimes doors r left open n music in classroom so loud it conflicts with music in equipment room. Very unhappy with this management.i

I have been a victim of Fitness 19 ( Brea ) of their predatory actions . They did NOT stop my personal training charges even though I went to the gym and spoke with Justin L., per-in-charge of personal training. There was a recurring charges of $299.04 per month since October 2021 till February 2022. I was told to write a request for the refund, which we did and at this time have not heard from him. More so, they eventually cancel my membership without my consent. This is a very serious matter and I am hoping this will not happen to anyone.

Took money for year membership then permanently closed location

Horrible experience. I canceled membership but was charged for a annual renewal fee anyways of 99. Dollars and I would be told the manager was out and would return call but never did then suddenly the location permanently closed and kept my money with no way of contacting them now.

Took out cancellation money when it shouldn't have been taken. I want reimbursement

I went into cancel my sons account and the manager told me thst I need to pay one more month, which last payment is today, and then I wouldnt have the $50 cancellation fee. I checked my bank statements this morning and you took out my monthly fee and the $50 cancel fee. I want a refund in the cancellation fee. If the manager was wrong about my one year being up and thst I still do have to pay the $50 , then I just dont cancel. But he told me thst I just needed to pay my last fee of $14.99 and then there will be no cancel fee and it would be done with. But you took out the $50 and I would like to be reimbursed because I am going to have insufficient funds now because if his error

I have called several times to get a copy of the cancellation to provide my bank and they never call me back and they don't have answers for besides they are going to leave a message for the manager which never calls back they are so unprofessional

I canceled my membership in may they still charged me June I figured I went past cancellation date so I left it at that since I didnt get charged anymore. Then recently I checked my account Ive been getting charged since February I never Authorize to start my membership were in Dec and I just noticed I called they said it never showed I canceled an the only Reason they had stop was cause they closed down but transfer members to pico Rivera why would I drive 48 min to the gym why would I not get informed of this changes if I was a member witch I wasnt but according to there records I was I spoke to supervisor and he said they would refund 3 months just because they were closed and still charged but what about about the rest of the months I was charged dont do business with them. They are frauds

The DOJ contacted Witless 19-Greentree but the gym has not relented on my reinstatement nor have they apologized or admitted an abrogation of my 1st Amendment Right to Free Speech. The DOJ recommended that any further action should be pursued with a Constitutional lawyer.

Note: I have since discovered that Fitness-19 Greentree has a consistent 'F' rating on the BBB website! I was a member from 2014 to very recently (Oct. 2021). In the beginning, it was a great place. Very clean. Attentive staff. Equipment well maintained. Friendly. In 2020, that all changed and it steadily went downhill in the following ways: 1) The BIGGEST problem for me was (and remains) broken equipment that needed to be fixed, but left unattended to for months at a time with only a tattered sign saying not to use it. At the time that I left, there were 8 broken treadmills (finally fixed the day before I left). BUT, there were still several other machines that needed to be fixed and were not. The mgr 'promised' that they would be fixed when approached on this, but took forever to actually do anything. 2) A broken sink faucet in the women's room that had been faulty since I first joined back in 2014. Both sink handles are rotting away; it is only a matter of time before the one that IS working breaks as well. 3) The water fountains have both pink and black mold growing on it. 4) More often than not, the TP dispensers were not full, and the TP was on top of the toilets (if it was there at all). 5) The foam covering some of the equipment is rotting away. It has been either duct-taped up or not addressed at all. The duct-tape itself was sticky and stuck to my fingers. It was not even layered neatly to make using the machine more comfortable. 6) The staff was amenable to changing the TV stations, but apparently the current mgr is not. Most of the TVs (at least the ones that were working) showed news all the time. I never had an issue from any of the employees when it came to changing the station, but apparently it was too difficult for the mgr to get off of her duff and make the change as politely requested. 7) They USED to play pop music most of the time. Once in a while it was rap. However, with the new mgr, it was ALWAYS rap. Not just the run-of-the mill variety, but explicit lyrics extolling the virtues of shooting people, raping women, and using drugs...certainly not my cup of tea. When I requested a change of music venue, the mgr told me to put in my ear plugs and turn up the volume instead. She refused to consider changing it to one of the other stations. She asked me why I didn't like it and I told her why I found it so patently offensive, but then laughed off my concern and ignored the request. 8) When I had informed her of another piece of broken equipment, she rudely interrupted me to say that it was all going to be fixed 'next week' -- 2 weeks later was when some of the problems were addressed. I tried to tell her that this was a new problem, but she did not care. She did send someone to look at it, however, and he agreed with me that it was an easy fix. She did nothing; I found that someone else had taken it upon themselves to remedy the situation w/o the intervention of a professional apparently. 9) The separate workout room is very dusty; it looks like it has never been touched by a mop or broom. The gym mats are very old, worn out, and there are only 4 available for the entire gym. 10) The wt machines are not accurate. I've been to two other gyms (Planet Fitness & the YMCA). At BOTH of those, the wt settings that I used had to be anywhere from 20# to 80# lighter...for the same type of machine! Coincidence? I think NOT! I believe that F19 is using cheaper & inferior wts to save money. The wt difference can cause an injury for the unsuspecting, not to mention really screw someone who competes professionally! 11) The staff was very new; very young kids indeed. When any questions were asked of them, they had no idea how to answer them, nor how to address equipment issues. The manager apparently called me on Monday. I left a msg with the desk with I called back. I stated that I had nothing to say to her and that I would talk to her when I see her. She then CANCELLED my membership as well as my daughter's and granddaughter's. She stated that 'obviously, since I'm so unhappy and complained about how conditions had deteriorated at the gym, she therefore closed my account at the gym and offered to have me escorted out by the police...all because I had the nerve to complain about the *** conditions at a gym that I had been using since 2014!! She also said that she had consulted the other mgrs before doing this (which I do not believe); I also think that she lied about the support of the current owner -- a man that I had met previously and who was very amenable to hearing suggestions and problems from his customers. 12) Broken soap dispenser replaced with another one that was not mounted properly on a damaged wall. Instead, severely watered-down soap in bottles for washing hands; My 1st Amendment Right -- Freedom of Speech -- was abrogated by this manager (Katie?) who has no tolerance for any form of criticism. I am currently in the process of consulting a Constitutional lawyer on this matter. I am not the suing type, but I was at this gym for SEVEN years. NO problems with ANY other manager or employee. JUST A NOTE: I did join a much nicer gym immediately after this bizarre and unfair treatment: So clean that you could eat off of the floor, no rap music, many more machines and ALL of them in excellent condition, along with friendly staff who stated that a membership will not be cancelled simply for complaining as long as I am respectful. I will accept no less than a PUBLIC PUBLISHED apology on both TV and radio at this point, as well as damages and any legal costs incurred. I have no desire to return to such a poorly taken care of business. I will NOT be cancel-cultured for exercising my 1st Amendment Right. Up until the snafu encounter on the phone with this manager, I had a very nice and respectful relationship with Fitness 19 overall. One more note: I did try to contact Corporate Office prior to considering a lawsuit. Apparently, ALL of their contact numbers have been discontinued and there is no way to contact them by email!! I USED to recommend Fitness 19 to everyone who sounded interested. Now I say: Run Away! Run Away! Don't look back!
