Poor engineering of door gasket, damper rod hits door each time you open the door, we have to replace door gasket twice a year.

Poor engineering of door gasket, door handle and damper rod. handle is too small and taking it off each time you want to open the door is absurd.!! the door gasket seems like an after thought ,relying on glue to hold it just does not work . The damper rod hits the top of the door each time you open it,!! The catalytic converter was junk after 3 years =$500. we got absolutely no help from our dealer w/ attitude,!! Buyers beware!!! buy a Quality unit, Green Bay ,Wi. bought in 2014

What a piece of *** this thing is

Doors leak Paints coming off the front Customer service from local rep absolutely worthless Please save yourself the grief and go with a different cat fireplace. Considering ripping the thing out and going with a different manufacturer and eating the cost. Biggest piece of *** on the market

Not pissed at all...this is an AMAZING fireplace.

Might not be an appropriate post to this page since it seems like a place only for those with an axe to grind, but I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER with my Fireplace Xtrordinair 36 Elite. It heats my entire (2200 square ft) house efficiently, and the catalytic firebox makes it so my neighbors don't even know I'm burning wood. The unit was pricey, but I fully believe eit will pay for itself over time.

Not satisfied!

Purchased a 864 TRU Xtrordinair in 2016 waiting for my 3rd service call. First 2 problems were remote unit problems Save your self a headache and put a on/off switch on the wall.

Problems with contractors and getting service

Recently had a Fireplace Xtrodinair DVL34 installed. The unit is expensive. The service from the authorized retailer was terrible. There is no support from the Travis Industries . The blower on the unit is defective and getting it replaced under warranty is way too difficult for a product that costs over $4,000. I would avoid purchasing a Travis product. Service is so terrible, I recommend just purchasing a cheap Chinese version- it will last longerkSkip travisSS.

Failure of computer

My unit is about 5 years old with little use. The company where we purchased it claims the computer part of the machine is fried. We originally paid about $5500 for the unit which should last more than 5 years? Tech is billing us $450.00 for the repair. I will contact the manufacture.

Face plate rusting

Our house is being built and the face plates are starting to rust, what can be done to fix or replace them.
