Great work ethic and customer service

We stayed at the New Orleans Metarie location. This morning, i was up early to get my family out of the door for my daughters tennis tournament. Due to our schedule, we relied on the breakfast/coffee to be ready at 7am which it was. John Fugo (i hope i remember his name correctly) was very efficient and his timing was spot on. He addressed a few customers needs all the while sticking to his preparation schedule. More importantly, maintained high customer service. I dont know his title but other employees had to grab him for direction on current tasks they were working with other customers. John is a leader in your business and i wish more executed like him in surrounding New Orleans businesses. I got my family situated at the tennis tournament and needed to get food for the next break. I drove to Subway where they were to open at 9am. The doors opened at 9 but they werent ready to start the day until 930am. I say this because i had just watched John manage many more tasks by 7am and a staff of 3 at subway couldnt get their business going and exhibited zero customer service in their interaction. I got a great example of great at Fairfield and in a short period got a strong example of bad at another establishment.

My husband and I have stayed at Fairfield Inn in Cleveland Tn a lot the past month. At first we got treated with respect and the rooms were awesome. But the more and more we stay here the less and less the rooms get. Last night we got here and our key didnt work so we had to get moved to another room. So the man at the desk told us we could check out at 1pm instead of noon but he never documented it in the computer and we got questioned about it. Like we were lieing. Then we left and made some money enough for another night. We came back here and paid for another night and went to our room and the tv wouldnt work. So we called down to the front desk and no one would pick up we called and called. So my husband walked down to the front desk and no one was at the desk she was in the office area on her personal cell on the phone. She told me to unplug and plug it back in. It still didnt work so she moved us rooms and she down l graded our room! And in the room She moved us too the toliet runs constantly, no toliet paper holder in the bathroom, there is a crack in the door whereu can see into the hallway with our door shut and locked, plugs on the walls dont work, there is no door on the closet, the lamp shade isnt even on a light its help on by the light bulb! My husband went down to return the key from the other room and ask for toliet paper the lady ruddy asked why he would need toliet paper and he said cause there isnt any. She basically called him a lier that was toliet paper in the room. He said maam would u like to come check. We were told by another Fairfield employee (who is very nice and caring) said if it was any other Fairfield they would have made it right but here at the Cleveland tn Westside drive Fairfield the management wont do anything and dont care. And after today I found out that to be right cause the lady that help us today was the manager. And she was very rude!

Poor customer service

In reference to the Fairfield in Midland, Tx on Faulkner Street. I made a reservation April 15th to arrive on April 19th. I received a confirmation email about my reservation on April 16th. We arrived in Midland on the 19th to check in around 4:30 p.m. I was informed by the desk clerk that the hotel was overbooked and we were being bumped to the "hopper" I asked her why I was not notified beforehand. She said that she was too busy and it wasn't her fault that the hotel was overbooked because the internet does not talk to her computer. I asked again what hotel we were supposed to be sent too and again I understood hopper I told her that my 90 year old mother needed to rest and eat and we reserved there because my sister was having open heart surgery in the morning and tgis hotel was the closest. She said she couldn't help me. I told her out of all the rooms and reservations thar why was my reservation bumped. She said that members have first priority. I told her that I was a member. She said that the Elite members are at the top. I however am at the bottom and that's why I was bumped. I told her how do I even know that we have a room at the "hopper" she said she had already called in the morning to the other hotel. However she called right then and told them the situation. She hung up and said it was taken care of and that the owner was there waiting. I told her thar I wasn't familiar with Midland and I needed an address. She said how do you want it email, text, or written. I asked for her to write it down. Come to find out it wasn't the hopper hotel it was actually the Hawthorne. This hotel was alot further. She said the hotel is newer and cheaper so that will help you out. At 1:30 Thursday morning I received a text from Vivian from the hotel saying that due to being overbooked Fairfield could not accommodate me. The notification should have been sent out well before I arrived on Thursday to check in. I have attempted 3 times to reach the manager at the Fairfield and each time she's on a conference call or left for the day. Apparently the lack of professionalism and courtesy are not of significant importance. Employees are a reflection of their superiors. Needless to say I will not be staying at any Marriott hotel in the future. My preference is Hilton where I am a diamond member and will continue to be a loyal member. I understand finding staff is hard but it's also important to have in the position of desk clerk someone that speaks clear and concise English and above all professionalism. Thank you

Problem with booking and check-in.

So my wife had booked this room for me in Atlanta and she had gone through Travelocity to make the booking. The rate was $118.49. It was a good rate and I figured I was set. The booking was for me and my son-in-law. We were in town to go to the Masters Tournament in Augusta and needed one night's lodging. So when we arrived we were attracted to the television in the lobby that had no volume and a speaker was speaking that we wanted to hear. The lone receptionist was helping another customer book in so we didn't bother her. But after searching for 5-10 minutes for the remote I asked her if she could give me the remote for the television. She had a trainee by her side during all this. She waited at least another ten minutes before retrieving the remote for the TV but then it was finally my turn to get checked into our room so we gave up on the television. It would've been easy for her to send her trainee to retrieve the remote for us. Anyway we moved into the check-in process only to find out that since my wife used a credit card to pay for the room however for one reason or another my name nor my son-in-law's name did not show up on the reservation. The receptionist insisted that she had to either have the credit card or the person of which both of these items were 1500 miles away in WA state. So we ended up having Travelocity contact the hotel by phone to ensure our booking. This process took over 2 hours to complete. The receptionist and her trainee were somewhat snarky in their attitude and helpfulness. I believe it is not all the receptionists fault. She did not have the acumen or possibly the authority to straighten this mess out on her own. Now remember this is a confirmed booking, it's been paid for up front. We had my wife on the phone with the receptionist. We had a Manager from Fairfield corporate on the phone with the receptionist and we had Travelocity on the phone with the receptionist. The bulk of this problem lies in Fairfield's procedures and computer programming in dealing with this situation. Granted the receptionist does need some coaching to lose her snarkiness, when I asked for her name she spelled it out loudly so everyone could hear. There was no call for that. I think she was trying to impress her trainee. But in her defense, she was a good kid stuck in a difficult situation due to an inadequate process in Fairfield's check-in processing. We believe Travelocity has some culpability in this as well in that our names although entered into the booking weren't accepted by the program because they weren't the names on the credit card being used to purchase the lodging. So there you have it. I hope you can fix this because a wife should be able to book a room for her husband through a third party without all these complications. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was good. The shuttle back to the rental car place was good.
