The story is I think people just wanted her dogs like breeders and would make false claims and cause drama when the dogs were perfect too much money being taken from old breeders

My family has wonderful pets with ZERO health issues ans wish we could get another puppy from Heidi and Beth I will ask around to see if that is possible

Great dogs for my entire family we got like 8 and everyone is doing well the breeder retired to out of state and people still going at it stupid and cruel

Do not buy from her
6/2009 I picked out a beautiful 2 week old puppy. she told me that his father was Tattoo and then right before I took him home, she told me that his father was Cosmo. Not a big deal but she clearly is not organized. Way too many breeding dogs in her home. Fast forward to 2005, cataract in left eye, then glaucoma. Recently, went blind in right eye overnight. blood pressure 220, doing a bunch of tests, I just called them to let them know it could be Cushing's disease. Jake is 10. He has had multiple problems for years. DO NOT BUY FROM HER!!!

Keep Heidi from ever breeding
I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m in a similar boat. Purchased my Chloe from her in 8/2010. She is the best shihtzu I’ve ever had and the sickest. She has horrible skin allergies and at 7 was diagnosed with Cushings disease. This is quite young for Cushings. Now the adrenal tumors have grown and we are faced with a very difficult decision. High risk surgery with a potential not so good outcome or keep her as comfortable as possible for as long as we can. Heidi is disgusting. She sold me a puppy and told me that she was 8 weeks old but not to take her to a vet for at least 2 weeks because she would get in trouble. Two days later, with round the clock care and supervision, she didn’t look so good so we rushed her to the vet. He was stunned to see how many parasites she had and told us she was approximately 5 weeks old. We believe something happened to the mother and this dispicable woman wanted to unload the puppy for $. Well, I was the sucker that came along but I refer to Chloe as our rescue dog. We rescued her from Heidi. But the bottom line is she didn’t have enough of her mother’s milk and therefore, has compromised immunity. I’m so heart broken and I will do anything just to have more time with her.

We bought our baby boy 6 years ago from here! He was the love of my life! Gave him a loving home My dog was my shadow my rock my love my baby! Was diagnosed w liver cancer throughout his body-we had to put him down at 6- he passed in my arms where he loved to be!! Left *** in my heart- my vet told me to reach out to the breeder well here I am! I was told I was given a very sick dog and this breeder should not be breeding- to reach out to her let her know Well here I am finding Reading all these reviews! I'm so angry this woman would of breed sick puppies It's disguists me and I'm angry! At this point I'm so I rescued my love from a phony! He was loved by many and we gave him a wonderful 6 years of all love- breaks my heart and tore my family apart Do research on your breeder! I would of never traded my baby in for the world! So happy this woman is out of business I hope she does not go back into action!

Warning, She is breeding again!
Heidi is up and running! Beware she is at it again with the last name Firrello. Yes, she's married again and breeding Shih Tzu again under the same name Exotic Shih Tzu. Most likely she is living in the same home she lived at before where she bred and had a grooming salon. Buyer beware.She has nothing to remedy her problems. Her problems are being a liar, cheat and dishonest person. She never knows who the father of the litter is so you could be getting a pup that is a brother bred to a sister. She is all sweet to get the sale and after you have the puppy, you are on your own. She won't return calls. Don't waste your time on these overpriced puppies.

Exotic Shihtzu, or really its owner is a cheat!
In short, she never returned my money when after visiting her vet we learned they were sick. The puppies were returned immediately after visiting her vet. It was a lot of money lost. I took her to court. She did not show. The court found her guilty. DO NOT BUY FROM HER! I feel sorry for the puppies in her care. I hope they all get great homes. They deserve it after spending any time in her home. She always brought out the puppies to show. She never let me see their surroundings. Buyer be ware. She is a cheat. Yes, the puppies are cute but her business ethic is not!

Exotic Shihtzu is over, no more...........ended, she got divorced and moved to Naples, I dont have papers either but I have the best dogs ever, SO WHAT, im not breeding them so who cares. I dont know why she didnt send them but I did call and verify she was an akc breeder and Akc asked me for names and gave them the names of the parents and they said I will get papers and its only 20$ SO try calling them, it helps. THey said they will send her a letter and if she doesnt respond I will get papers in 90 days.

I came across Heidi's website in search of a new friend. I called and to my surprise she had the exact puppy I was looking for or so I thought... I was told that my chocolate shih tzu puppy was AKC registered and would grow to be no more than 6-7 pounds; for this she charged me $1700. As beautiful and fun spirited as my puppy was, she grew to be slightly over 11 pounds and I was never sent any AKC papers for the dog. Unfortunately about 9mo after I got her she was stolen out of my own backyard!! I was devastated! Although I had never received the AKC papers for my chocolate shih tzu I kept in contact with Heidi checking for the papers every 6 weeks or so; she kept up with excuses for why the papers were never sent, reassuring me that I would receive them soon (excuses were always someone else's fault from secretaries and book keepers to husbands, groomers u name it!!). I told her the horrifying news that my puppy had been stolen and she showed a great deal of compassion, offering me a new dog at $1000 ($700 off). She assured me that this puppy would definitely grow to be no bigger than 6-7 pounds and that not only would I be sure to receive the AKC papers for the second puppy; but that she would also see to it that the papers from the original purchased puppy would be sent along with the new ones. I was a little hesitant but I couldn't pass up the price so I agreed to purchase. I flew to NY picked up my second companion and flew back home. Bambie (the second puppy) was in great health and very playful. She's almost a yr old and is 6.7 pounds so Heidi kept her word in that regard. However I have yet to receive the AKC papers for either of the two puppies and Heidi doesn't return any of my phone calls.... the excuses stopped (finally) but so did the communication. I must say Heidi's dogs are cute as can be but I would never do business with her again. The old saying goes "You get what you pay for" and with Heidi this just doesn't hold to be true.

Sold sick dogs and no akc papers
Heide from exotic shuti used my home and good reputation to sell sick puppies and no AKC papers. She lied to people and took their money and then moved to Naples Florida. Her family is still doing business in Merrick under Pamper PAws using the good reputation of East Bay Vet . They board the dogs in a tiny tiny apartment withour permission from the comples owner. These poor animals are left without anyone to care for them. If you love your pet do not use Pamper Paws...I write from personal knowledge and am trying to help the animals. It has been a nightmare for my family to see what is being done to these poor animals just for money.

Best Puppy I ever owned
My puppy purchased Sept 11, 2011 is the best dog I ever owned. I have read all these reports good and bad, and it looks more like personal attacks then her puppies. Her house is clean and my puppy is by far the CUTEST shihtzu I have ever seen. I just received my Akc papers last month and all is well. Susie is a chocolate shihtzu that has green eyes and a face that stops people on the street to admire her. I live in NYC and its so intersting to see how many people love shihtzus. Anna NYC/NY

Happy and sick of the b/s on this site
This site is the bathroom wall ........... No one ever puts their real name and if they put a name its usally a b/s name. Or some disfuntional person. If you got something to say in court .... other wise shut the ***k up. My dog is awesome, I dont care what Heidi's personality is, she just has the cutest shihtzu's out there. If you have a problem go to court, grow up and act like a real person, not just some as.whole that has a big mouth, and is crying about money. If you didnt like HER then you should have gone somewhere else. I paid 1800. and have a healthy happy puppy, and I would buy from her again, even if she had a big mouth with she doesnt. This site seems to be for the low class loud mouths! Next time go to the shelter and pay 750 for the apotion fee's.

She sold me a sick puppy that was never healthy.
I purchased an exotic shihtzu puupy from Heidi 5 years ago. He was very sick for a whole year it cost me 2000 dollars to get him well. He is always tired acts very strange, and is not normal. We love him though We could not bring him back.I called her the day after I got him and said hes throwing up and I dont feel comfortable taking him and she said it was too late to bring him b ack. He was suppose to be 12 pounds hes 22. I told her hes 22 pounds and she says I dont breed 22 pound Shihtzus. Well then who did? Me? I think she has split personalitys. She can act normal and then get very nasty and arrogant for no reason. When I read about her on this web site I was so happy to see you can tell your story. Its all true what people say Ive lived it too!

This is the most awesome breeder out there making a diffence, JUDGE for your self people making up these lies and slander have a motive, and I have two puppies from exotic shihtzu and the are just gorgeous. I meet the nanny that takes care of the puppies and the home was pretty and clean. I got a vet reference from East Bay Vet Hospital in Merrick and they stand up for these puppies and said the have never seen better shihtzus. As for my dogs I wish I could have four but two is the limit for my home, but trust me if I could get another I would only get an exotic shihtzu puppy LOOK NO FURTHER, exotic shihtzu puppies are the nicest and prettiest dogs I have ever seen. Exotic Shihtzu and their staff are wonderful. I have 3 shihtzu's from Heidi and and I would and have referred her daily. People say wow where did you get that dog from and from speaking with other people that have her dogs I had to post this to say find something better to do than slander someone that makes the breed what it should be and has a heart for her dogs and a VERY VERY clean house. The best of the best is what Exotic Shihtzu is. So lets end this saga of slander and call up New York State and get a real referral. Go to her house and pick out your dog for your self I will bet you will not just buy one but three just like me. Best Wishes Julia

Can these people ever stop being ***, one needs to read all of this *** to see that Exotic Shihtzu is then victim of an ***. I met Heidi three years ago and waited six months before buying a puppy and I shopped around and you know what, her dogs were the cleanest and most beautiful with calm, playful temperments. Exotic Shihtzu has the best shihtzu puppies ever. She is picks her clients carfully and makes sure people can afford to take care of the puppies for thier lifetime. My puppy two years ago was taped to be on ANIMAL PLANET, and i doubt they would choose her if she was a mill! Puppy mill my ***. Shihtzu Heaven,is more like it, and I am getting another puppy in September. My VET raves about my dog, and so do I. WE love you Heidi and keep doing the great job you always do.

Heidi is a liar, I still have no papers for my dog
We brought our puppy from her when was 4 weeks old. I was suppose to pick up the puppy when he was 8 weeks old. We would visit the dog once a week and noticed the dog pen had a mat and it was covered in *** and *** I called her about this and she claimed that they do not use a mat and if they did it was washed everyday. She told me she doesnt push dogs out, but I get a phone call to pick up the dog when he was 6 weeks old. She is not so bright because she contradicts herself all the time. By the way, the dog was sick when I brought him home and had to be taken to vet. I asked for the papers for our dog and till this day no papers for our dog. She is a liar and a cheat there is no love for those puppies. It's all about the money. Sad but so true after reading everyones comments.
