A modest model upgrade at Edinburgh Airport resulted in a charge of C$1600

An agent at the Edinburgh airport location suggested a modest vehicle upgrade to accommodate 3 passengers and carry-on baggage, depite a car having been booked that the ad stated would accommodate 4 passengers. The original car had been prepaid & insured for C$615. The modest upgrade resulted in an additional charge of C$1671. Attempts to resolve result in computer generated emails and telephones that are not answered. In my opinion, a rating of one out of 5 is too high and feel we were conned. AThere should be zero category.

Europcar took my money without delivering anything.

Happily i got an answer from Europcar today. I have to ask for a refund at Bookingcom. Bookingcom told me weeks ago: You have to contact Europcar. We are only a booking agent. Looks like this big companies are allowed to steel and get away with it.

Rental car paid but not seen ever

I booked a rental car via bookingcom at Lagos, Portugal. I paid for 16 days 466 Euros but never saw a car because my creditcard was not accepted, it was a debitcard. So i even did not see a car and Europcar will not refund me. I paid for 16 days for nothing!

OVERCHARGE RES 115 32* ***

I herewith file a complaint for reasons of overcharge and request a refund. The above reservation was made on 4 October 2022 and I was quoted 2,354.46. On 18 November 2022, some 26 days before pick-up date, I approached the Europcar-desk at Brussels Airport and asked for an earlier pick-up time of 7:00am instead of 8:30am. Apart from that request NOTHING was changed to the original reservation. I returned the car on 1 January 2023 and my credit card was credited by 4,749.32 on 3 January 2023. The amount charged grossly exceeds the quoted amount for no good reason Note that at the time of collection I upgraded the insurance package and asked for two child seats. I accept that same will result in additional charges. Since then, I have on several occasions written to Customer Services, but the complaint is being ignored. I attached some relevant files Would you kindly investigate and advise. Many thanks in advance. Herwig Leleu

OVERCHARGE ON RENTAL

FINAL CHARGE WAS ALMOST DOUBLE THE QUOTED AMOUNT FOR SAME VEHICLE, SAME DATES. CUSTOMER SERVICE DODGING THE ISSUE, HAD TO CONTACT SENIOR MANAGEMENT FOR PROPER ANSWER AND EVENTUAL REFUND.

My name is Lawrence Gormick, I rented a car nov. 16 2022 in Costa Rica. I rented a car thru travelocity, at that time I also took out car insurance. When I went to Costa Rica it was explained to me that outside insurance not excepted (false advertising if euro car didn't except why offered ) not disclosed when purchased. I was also told that my choices were a $25000.00 deposit or take there insurance. They said it was a nominal charge, and I had previously used your company before while renting in Dominican republic. I took ins there and since I ( not many do) didn't have a credit card with $25000.00 limit I had no choice. the contract was in Spanish which I don't speak. I went ahead and rented the car, at this point no choice. Well as luck would have it the car got damaged and I needed a tow. This was the day before I was due to return the car. The car was towed back to your office. I was dropped off at the desk. We got there at about 3:30 pm. The car got towed to the back of the lot with my belongings in it. There were two representatives in the shop, NO customers. After waiting forty five minutes I was finally helped. While waiting I asked about getting another car as I had a day left on original contract. I was told no. When I asked why the representative just shrugged. I then asked for a ride to hotel and again was told no. Then he said take an uber. I called and arranged for a ride. Took car 30 minutes to get to me , at this point still no luggage. I asked about luggage and was told soon. waited another 20 minutes and finally the tow truck driver brought luggage. I loaded the car and was ready to leave when I was told I owed 1100 dollars for the accident. I told them i took there no deductible insurance and should owe anything. Then they tries to break down charges to over 700 for car insurance I took out and over 400 for damages. I refused as this was not what was quoted me . why would I pay over 700 for insurance when I was old nominal fee 18 a day. The insurance would be 3 times what I paid for rental. they charged my card on two separate days for over $1100.00 dollars. I want this refunded. In addition I was charged for a day I didn't have the car as well as ride to hotel, and then next day to airport. Find My reservation with Europcar and notice Crossing-border needed

I have reserved a suv through Booking.com and paid in full. The main driver's name is Jiming Li. The booking reference number is 74432**** on the rental voucher provided. Pick-up and drop off location at Punta Arenas, Chile. I will need to drive crossing-border to Argentina on Feb 21st, 2023 and return Chile on Feb 26th. Booking.com service asks me to directly contact Europcar regarding the cross-border documentation requirement. Please advise on how can I submit my passport and driver license documents to Europcar to prepare my crossing-border documentation??? In addition, I could not locate my reservation from Europcar reservation website by using the Europcar confirmation number of 852504 and account number 9933 provided in the voucher, and/or even using my email address and pick up date information. Please advise how can I find my reservation on your website??? With best regards, Jiming Li

Ripped off in Edinburgh Scotland

AEuropCar (EC) would not accept insurance from Booking.com. Had to buy EC insurance which was more than the car rental. The 40,000 mile EC car broke down and EC left us stranded for 27 hours (20% of our vacation). It took 37 phone calls and @7 emails to get EC to send us a replacement car even though we bought the Premium roadside assistance plan. EC charged us for an extra day due to their date/time stamp being wrong. EC charged us an additional $508.00 and I still havent got an invoice or an explanation for this charge five weeks since turning the car in. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Overcharged without explanation

My Credit card was overcharged and never received a final bill explaining charges. I tried to get in touch with company with no luck because I live in the USA and I rented a car in Portugal.

SCAMMERS

This company is a huge scam. If there was Zero star that would be my rating. They deny all insurance providers and charge everybody $50 a day so you're forced to buy their insurance, where other providers accept all insurances.

Europcar emails are not going through

Please send me accurate email for europcar so we can get a receipt from our rental that needs to be used for insurance purposes. The email link on Europcar is rejected, as well as Nachfrage@***.com that was given to me by an agent. It shouldnt be this difficult to get a final receipt!

Ridiculous

I am standing in Lisbon Airport now for more than an hour waiting to collect my car. There are 3 empty service desks and huge crowds. No one can explain why the desks are empty. Employees are just standing around. WHAT A JOKE. I will never use this company again and I am in Portugal 4-5 times a year. I would advise anyone to use a different company.
