ETRAILER DID NOT WARRANTY FAILED PARTS

I have spent a lot of money with etrailer over the last few years. About six months ago we replaced the electric brake assy's and drums on a customers trailer. The customer brought the trailer back for the brakes not working. We found the magnets dug deep grooves in the drums the likes we have never seen so the magnets were not making good contact. We replaced the drums and brake assy's at no charge to the customer. With the new parts, the brakes worked perfectly. After going back and forth with etrailer they will not warranty the parts. Whether they believe me that the parts failed or not I was shocked this is how they would treat a long time regular customer. We will be finding a new source for our trailer parts.

Failure to rectify an incorrect trailer hitch

This had to be a factory second or damaged hitch because it was impossible to screw 6 bolts through 6 the holes in the hitch and mount to a toyota vehicle. This should have been a VERY easy install that anyone could perform. After multiple phone calls and emails with LoriAB, no action whatsoever. hitch is a throw away loss. No refund, no exchange, no call tag.

Terrible customer service!!!

Ordered a $9 part that was in stock and it took them two weeks to ship it. I cancelled the order and was told that they couldnt stop the order and they were going to ship it anyway??? Absolutely the WORST customer service Ive ever seen!! Waiting two weeks for a company to ship a small piece of plastic and then they email me and tell me that theres going to be a delay!! When you want it they sit on it! When you cancel it they send it!! I ordered from another company and it will be delivered in two days!!

Resolved: Incorrect part included in the hardware bag and Etrailer rudely refused to rectify the situation.

Updated by user Jun 14, 2023

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. Received apology and a replacement bracket has, according to Etrailer, been shipped. Problem appears to be resolved.

Original review Jun 12, 2023
Last winter, February 7th to be exact, I purchased from ETrailer a 12 foot Solera Family Room tent fabric product to create more usable protected space outside my camper. This Family Room add-on to my camper cost me near $1000.00 and I could not complete installation for my up-coming camping vacation because of a missing part. The hardware packet contained TWO right side mounting brackets and no left side mounting bracket. Due to persistent inclement weather I waited to install it until the weather became less so. I waited for warmer weather with less wind so the fabric panels don't blow all over during the install. This past weekend the weather was calm enough and I attempted to attach the Family Room to the camper. In doing so I found that the mounting hardware did NOT include a "left-side mounting bracket" to attach the left side wall of the family room to my camper. The hardware bag did however, contain TWO "RIGHT side mounting brackets". I contacted Etrailer and although the customer service rep seem pleasant and helpful enough at first, (Victoria her name is), abruptly cut off the chat saying "It'd been over 60 days and we won't help you." She sent me a copy of their policy but it says nothing about replacing missing hardware. I am NOT happy with their customer service nor do I appreciate being cut off that way. All I needed was a replacement left side mounting bracket to complete the installation of the Family Room on my camper. I want ETrailer to send me the missing left side bracket and I also expect an apology in writing from Victoria, (NOT FROM HER BOSS) for her unacceptable treatment of a customer who spent almost $1000.00 with her company. Desired settlement: Replacement left side upper mounting bracket for my camper. Apology, in writing, from Victoria in Customer Service.

Bad Business Policies

We ordered a product for a vehicle and were sent the wrong item. Asked for them to send an RA and to kindly furnish us with the correct product and they refused, saying it wouldn't be "cost-effective" for them to authorize a return and they denied sending us the correct product citing that "it was not confirmed" when, in fact, it was. Caveat emptor. DO NOT recommend doing business with this conglomerate.

Failed to deliver

Sent damaged part. Promised replacement. Never arrived. 2nd replacement was wrong part. Third replacement promised overnight then confirmation email states 5 days! Numerous calls, major hassle, still no part! This company is a bad joke!

Failure to reply to my message sent via pissed consumer.

E trailer do not have a publicly accessible E mail address, a rather curious fact. Am in the UK and trying to buy a trailer hitch for a Smart for 2, model since I cannot source one in the UK OR IN Europe. Etrailer do supply them and even have a U Tube clip of how to fit them. Perhaps its a trailer thing, also E mailed another company, an agent of Etrailer, who did not reply.

Don't Stand Behind Their Products

Purchased an AMP Lock from Etrailer last year. The lock failed after one year. So considering the high price of the lock, a years use is not worth it. I bought two locks for my cargo trailer exactly a year ago. Last week I loaded up equipment into my trailer, locked the doors, went 30 minutes down the road, and along the way one of the locks fell off. It had to of failed because I locked up my equipment and the only way to remove the key is to put the bolt into the locked position, and as the AMP key is on my key ring with my truck and house keys, it's not as if I left the key in the lock. After unhitching my trailer I drove back along the rout hoping to see my lock on the side of the road, but never did find it. I told eTrailer about the issue, but never got a response. The other AMP lock is working fine, so the one that fell off might have been a lemon, but for that price, who wants to take a chance.

Shipping issues and won’t refund shipping costs

A truly bad experience. Had a lock shipped economy shipping and used a ups drop spot. I entered the address wrong and then found out was being sent usps. The item was refused by the address I put and was returned. Trailer has refused to refund shipping. There agent Justin said is is universally known that economy shipping is post office. Funny, I didnt know that and then after digging well into their web found a shipping section which says economy can go either ups or usps. Neil said etrailer has closed out the matter despite me insisting managemt get involved. I emailed as far as I am concerned its not as Justin is younger and i am a senior and his comment was to demean me. Had second lock sent and was done by post office. Did general delivery with also putting the post office address. The post office claimed was insufficient address claiming no P.O. Box no and they sent it back to etrailer. On 8-10 I called and their agent Jesse when I explained said it was not my fault so he would refund the shipping. Well they didnt and Justin said his notes said insufficient address so no refund. So Jesse lied to me. Have filed disputes with both payment companies. I doubt will hear from management as the rep niel said it is closed. After the disputes are finished and if no refund will write etrailer and restate all and insist management review especially with Justins comments and Jesses lie

Please don't ask customer service to go out of their way. After sending me 2 different links that would not work, do you think they would just take the information and give it to who needs it.????

Oh go no. they will not go out of their way to help. Just send another link after another not caring about my time. Only that they don't have to do anything more then what they need to do to keep their job. There is IMHO a design issue and these people don't care. Just send him a link and maybe he will get tired of trying to give feed back we don't want to hear. So now they get the bad reviews they wanted all over the internet. Sorry I tired not go this route.

They rip you off and send used goods as new

For $400, they sent me a returned box that had been previously opened, no packaging materials, and with the nuts and bolts scattered around. I emailed the salesman "Peyton" and got no response. Avoid this disgusting company.

Terrible Company-Stay away from them or you'll regret you didn't!

Original review Aug 10, 2022
I'm here to attest to, unless you want your anxiety or temper to skyrocket stay away from this company. They were terrible to deal and communicate with after the purchase. At first glance when talking to the sales representative-Adam-conversation was light and pleasant due to the used car salesman theory of hoping to get a sale. Fast forward to post receiving the $500+ roof rack. After installation they made a constant grating high pitch sound so I called etrailer and was basically told sorry about your luck and the item was not returnable. Not a good answer so I persued further with Adam who sold the item to me. He reassured me they would send a paid return label and I would get a refund. After several emails and over a week later still no return label. Crickets from etrailer and Adam. Seriously lame. Thanks for a terrible product and a terrible experience. I hope others take this review to heart!

Will not stand behind warranty

I bought all new drums, backing plates with brakes, bearings and seals, leaf springs to tune up my boat trailer. 2nd trip out the bearings failed on 1 side of 1 of the axels. Totally destroyed my axel. They say I installed them incorrectly. I said I did the other 3 wheels right, what's the chances I did that 1 wrong. Plus I have done brakes and bearings for years. Never a problem. $900 later and Etrailer will not stand behind their 1 year warranty. The do it yourselfer is their business model of customers for this company. Buyer beware you are on your own if something fails. Their warranty is useless and they don't stand behind their products.

Sends wrong kit you pay return ship $138

Beware, etrailer will tell you yes it fits your truck like a 5th wheel rail kit. The first shipment of the wrong kit came with a box very poorly packed and box end broke and all the brackets, bolts everything poured out. Took trailer 2 weeks to get the still wrong kit parts to me. Now it's been 3 weeks, I have the wrong kit and they want me to pay $138 to ship it back to them. Then you get it, then look at instructions and realize you have the wrong kit. Etrailer says sure we'll send you the right kit but after you pay $138 to ship back their mistake. They say it's not in stock, then a few minutes later say ok ok that kit IS in stock. they don't what fits what and don't know their stock level. If you want to take the chance, go for it. I wished I would have just paid a little more money and got the right kit from someone else.

Ripped off more ways than one

I ordered a wet bolt a nut and leaf spring bushings for my rv. I did it through trailer chat and they sent me what I needed. I paid over $40 for it which included $4.99 in shipping. I got the product three weeks later and wrong parts. E trailer customer service said thats what I ordered. It was not. Asked how to return and they sent me a return label. They then charged me over $18 for return and took off my refund. So with both shipping charges subtracted from my initial cost they only refunded about $14. Even if it was fair and correct it should be a little over $16. Asked for receipt for shipping return and no response. I will be filing consumer fraud complaint with the attorney generals office.
