Buyer beware!! Rumour has it David Murray (ex)owner of Ecolife Home Improvements is now working for Maple Ridge Management owner Pamela Murray ( Facendi) his wife. Apparently his wife open up a business and they are going and getting people to sign new contracts to finish up their work started by Ecolife. Do not give any money up front. He has no money , in court he is waiting to apply for legal aid to represent him for his 23 fraud charges against him.

No windows yet after 1 year
Waiting for window installation as of august/september 2018. Still nothing done and this was suppose to be done before the end of october 2018 for the GreenON rebate program! I had my claim in for $4500 to be refunded and the government found out that Dave Murray...owner of EcoLife was falsifying documentation and I lost my claim! Also found out others clients got screwed! I also inquired about the windows that were ordered from Gentek and found out he never ordered them! Just took my money and thinks I am just going to ignore him now! Well see you in small claims court...I am fed up with all your excuses!

Gave this guy a 12000 loan before christmas. Hes paid 7000 of it back but still fighting me for the 5000 left. Trying to bring the past up and saying he gave me money and trying to bully into not paying me the rest. This was my moms inheritance who had recently passed away. I though i could trust him but big mistake. Hes a scammer and steals off people. Guy cannot be trusted.

We met with Dave in August of 2016. Desided to get roof, siding and stone front done. He wanted half up front and he wanted the other half before they would finish the job. They did some damage and he wouldn't come clean for it. It cost us more money. Still not complete and I kept getting the run around. He got paid and we got scammed. WTF

Dave Murray is a predator
Hired Dave Murray to build an addition on my Home. He took forever to get what work was done completed. It was verbal abuse, drama, lies and excuses from him day after day. We consulted a lawyer who advised us the best time to end the relationship is after 45 days of 'no improvements on our project'. This makes it very simple to negate any Lien placed against your property. I elected to do this just to be rid of his nonsense, despite the fact he owes me another $50k in work. My Legal suit is waiting to see if he survives. My Lawyer has advised that you can't get blood from a stone and he will not survive long enough to make payment on anything he owes me. I have until December 2019 to decide. I don't think he is going to make it until then. I have a good lawyer who is advising me not to waste more money on this character. I wish I had done my home work better before hiring him. Buyer beware, Canadian Civil system is powerless to beat down a thug like this. They can go on surviving for decades before the systems in Canada catch up to these guys.

on June 06 2018 David Murray representing Eco Life Home improvements inc. Came to my house and introduced himself as David Murray of Eco Life Home Improvements inc. He told me about a government grant that would help with the cost of window replacement, the program was Green-on rebate program. he then said it was ending soon in the coming week but if we signed up and gave him a deposit he could get the job done by late august early September. By the last week in august i kept trying to get a hold of him and he would not return calls or was never at his office when i did get a hold of him he said he was coming, then the whole story changed he said the window manufacturer was behind in orders due to shortage of glass that because there is three panes of glass and due to the high number of orders across the province due to the rebate program the window suppliers could not get enough glass to make the windows. i then asked him for confirmation of my order after a couple of weeks hounding him going to his office numerous times he then give me proof that he ordered my windows with the money i gave him. The only problem was he changed the dates on my order and the date was April 04 2018 how could he have ordered my windows in April when i never heard from him or met him until June 06 2018 when he took my money. Myself and my neighbor always went to see David Murray together so we could try to get both our houses done at the same time my neighbor had his windows installed in November and Eco Life home improvements inc told me they were coming the next day and never showed or contacted me. Today is March 09 2019 i am writing this and i have filed a small claims court claim against him on January 28 2019 he did not reply and on March 06 2019 I filed a notice of examination & a Affidavit for enforcement request. Do not let them back date any documents this just shortens the 30 day full refund if you change your mind. This company took my money and made promises of rebates and a nice job i can not comment on his work because he has never came to do any he has had my money for 9 months and has failed to do any work. In my opinion if you are looking for any renovations etc i would definitely advise you to use a reputable company as there are many Good companies to deal with in the Sudbury area. THIS PLACE IS IN MY OPINION NOT ONE OF THEM. WAY TO GO ECO LIFE HOME IMPROVEMENTS INC ANOTHER FINE JOB NOT DONE. He has many scams back date documents uses government programs to sell product then cannot meet dates or deadlines which makes your grant unavailable. Extreme caution should be taken when signing anything read before you sign.check all dates, He is nice until he has your money then he did not return calls, and swears and curses you when you confront him. He also would not let me out of his office when i served him my court papers. He pushed his chest twice against me and was very verbally abusive, i was scared as i am 62 years old. If you see him my advice is go the other way. Hopfully this will stop somone else from having to go through anything like this.

Don't do business with Ecolife
To anyone considering to do business with Ecolife DON'T. Unfortunately, we did back in October and it has been one of the worse experiences for both my husband and I. For 1, he doesn't return calls and when he does he doesn't give you answers only excuses. It got old fast. Also he likes to bully and threaten people...ask yourself if this is the kind of person you want to do business with. Before going with a company do your research...if we would have done ours, we would have known that this company is on the consumer beware list. It's funny that he mentions that he is behind on his work due to green ON because we had 2 other quotes around the same time we had his and not one of the other companies mentioned green ON. People who have gone with the competitive companies in greater sudbury area have not had any issues with getting their doors and windows installed.

WAS YOUR CONTRACT BACKDATED BY ECOLIFE??? EVER WONDER WHY?
Has anyone wondered why when you got your contract it was backdated a month or more? It’s because from the moment you turned over money to Ecolife, he had the intent to defraud you and take away your rights. Because of that, your contract became null and void the minute he did that. By law, if someone comes to your home to have you sign a contract, you have 15 days to change your mind. Because the contract is now "months old", you no longer have any rights to a refund under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act. Also, this doesn’t appear to be the case if people go to him, or his shop, which is undoubtedly where he wants people to sign. That being said, for all of those that wondered about your ‘backdated’ contracts, now you know. Make sure that the Ontario Consumer Protection Act are aware of this fact, and go back to the police if they have written your case off as a civil matter. You can’t start the transaction with an intent to deceive and deprive you of your money and it be considered a ‘civil matter’. That action alone is the definition of Fraud.

Our story.... Friends of mine made an inquiry about windows and doors through Ecolife at the Chemmy Mall. Before they knew it, and in spite of both being basically illiterate, Dave Murray had them sign 4 BLANK copies of a contract. Murray then attended the bank with them to remortgage their home and argued with the manager for more $$$$. He filled in his contracts for the full amount of that mortgage, and when they listened to their gut and told their lawyer about his behaviour, their lawyer called Dave Murray and told him to get lost. Murray found his way into their driveway minutes later demanding that cheque under threats of “taking everything they had”. They finally relented, and the rest and their money was history. He did minimal work on their house and left it in a state of disrepair. The wrong windows were installed, and a relative of theirs fell through the open deck that was covered with styrofoam, and severely injured her back. He put a lien on their house in retaliation, and it was on there for YEARS! The money they got from small claims (only by surprising his account with a order of garnishment) was held in limbo because he played the courts with delays and more. He is a master manipulator, a con man extraordinaire, and more importantly, I haven’t heard of ANYONE that has dealt with him that hasn’t been threatened and bullied. That is his tactic, and he uses it constantly! My goal is to encourage and help anyone that needs it to file a claim with the Ontario Consumer Protection Act. This isn’t an agency that just logs complaints, they can actually file for criminal charges against him which would include jail time depending on the circumstance. We will be holding a town hall meeting shortly and have invited various agencies to attend (police, media, political representation). It’s time to turn the tables on Murray and take this guy out for once and for all. NO MORE McMURRAY VICTIMS!

Another Victim not a Troll...
To whom it may concern. We signed a contract with Mr. Murray back in spring of 2018 (not February) back dated by the president/saleman. We also fell into the 50% deposit trap. We were promissed a reasonable time line which is now surpassed by 7 months. After countless excuses we have now given up on this company and trying our case to small claims as we believe it is the only way to get some results... If you decide to sign with this company this will be your experience. He will ask for a 50% deposit for materials. Once you agree he will horace you till the money is in his hands then you will never hear from him untill you say the words "cancel my contract". He will try to talk you out of cancelling if that does not work Mr. Murray will escalate his efforts by uttering court threats or bullying his way out. If you dare write a negative review on his golden prize winning facebook page he follow by threaten slander charges "my lawyer will be serving you papers". Up to date I have yet to hear a case on his behalf on this matter. My question to him is it slander to solicit positive reviews with a contest from people who are not clients? If you do not comply with his wishes you can even expect excessive calling or even an unexpected visit from him just to yell at you! Terrible people skills for a professional don't you think? Now if everyone would get charged with slander for negative post on facebook well we just found a cure for online bullying Mr. Murray! Here is what I learned by dealing with this man: ONE: Do your researsh on the company before making that call. Even if you know people who work for them. TWO: Do not give a 50% down. No reputable company needs more than 10% if anything. THREE: If you have to put a deposit always use a CREDIT CARD. This is important because you can REVERSE YOUR PAYMENT at anytime. We know of a few clients of Ecolife Home Improments Inc who were successful in reversing their payment months after the deposit was provided. Thank you a concerned citizen!

Finally got ahold of Mr. Murray, it appears that he changed his cell number and hadn't notified all of his customers yet.
I notified Mr. Murray that we were very concerned when we found out that his phone number was unasigned and we couldn't reach anyone at the other...

February 2019 Late spring 2018 David Murray of EcoLife Home Improvements sold my wife and I windows and doors for our house, install date was scheduled for Sept/Oct 2018. Windows doors have not been installed, phone disconnected. He has ran off with our $9000.00 and being disabled and unable to work his actions may have sunk our family. Any info on where he is would be appreciated
