Defective Thermostat, And 1 Good-1Bad Customer Service Phone Rep

The device malfunctioned and is being replaced. The first rep I spoke to on the phone was a dimwit, and made the company's reputation look very bad. Fortunately, the second rep named Asha, was much better, smarter and customer-oriented. If it wasn't for her I would give Ecobee 1 or Zero stars based on the first rep being a complete idiot, rude, unintelligent, and someone who should not be representing any company!!

Unable to contact for defective product

Ecobee made good on replacement thermostat. They actually upgraded replacement to higher end product with much better features. Learned text is better than phone and or email when contacting staff.

Called weeks ago and after on hold for 30 minutes was instructed to text concerns. After text finally responded told to call. Just soent 1.5 hours on hold, finally hung up as I ha e things to do. Horrible customer support. Two year old expensive thermostat broken,unusable. Please contact me at 561 236 **** or at pentzd1@***.com

Warranty contact problem

Smart thermostat under warranty broke and had several unsuccessful attempts at getting replacement. Company made good on product replacement and actually upgraded to much higher end thermostat as replacement. It appears text via WhatsApp or messenger was preferred method of correspondence to resolve issue. Ecobee made it right and for troubles they gave me a much newer, enhanced features unit.

My app is offline

I was unable to control my thermostat via smart phone. I contacted an agent and all was corrected in 10 mins. The agents directions were very easy to follow. I could tell that he was well trained in his field. I am very satisfied with my experience and I will be recommending the product to people I know in the future!

Terrible customer service!

After sitting on the help line for approximately 2 hours, i opted for a call back which took another 1.5 hours, by which time I had other things to do. A customer service rep set up another call in 2 hours, which was 45 minutes ago. These people have no concept of time! In addition, I have a very simple request with account set up. If you have a simple set up or use a professional it may be easier, but for an experienced DIY person they SUCK!

I bought an ecobee smart thermometer with about $250 and got a function about $50 because its network connection didn't work. Asked their tech supported many times, but didn't solve it.

It's called a smart themometer, but the smart function didn't work. I contacted ecobee's technical support many times, but the close the tickets without sloving the problems. Very disappointed.

Network connection doesn't work

Desktop pc. access.

Every time I try to access the apps on my desktop pc, I have to call my technician for a code to open my apps. This doesn't happen on my cell phone and other pc I have at home only on this particular desktop pc.

Thermostat Constantly Offline

Ive had nothing but issues with our ecobee thermostat. The first one almost burned our house down as it wouldnt stop calling for heat. The replacement isnt much better. It goes offline all the time. DONT BUY an ecobee

Bad customer support

Ive had ecobee thermostat for 4+ years. For the past 2 weeks Im facing issues with registering the thermostat. I contacted customer support many times and they are just unable to confess that they are having major issue and that they cant fix customer issues. They are trying to keep this low profile cause they dont want customers figure out what is going on. I would never ever buy a product from this company.

Won’t Stay Connected

My second ecobee 3 lite continues to malfunction. It has dropped its connection to the ecobee server several times in the past week. It also went into a slow response mode where it wouldnt recognize selections being made until I unplugged it from the wall and cycled the Wi-Fi router. The first ecobee thermostat almost burned down our cottage when it wouldnt stop calling for heat. Had it not been for a neighbor noticing something was wrong, it could have been a disaster. The cottage was 95 degrees F when our neighbor entered the cottage. Burned through $300 worth of propane in a week.

Customer service call

Called because my voice command feature stopped working on my ecobee4 thermostat. The rude customer service representative told me the problem wasn't my ecobee but rather the Alexa service and I would have to call them. He refused to even give me the Alexa service # and hung up leaving me with NO solution. I found alxa service # online and called them. The VERY helpful service rep went through a number of tests and determined it was the ecobee that was melfunctuoning. It's supposed to update its software automatically and mine was running on an outdated version. She helped me manually update it. Thank God for Amazon. And it's the last ecobee product I buy.
